Hi Bubble, I used clearblue and it was a definite big fat blue line pretty quickly too. I felt pregnant too - had every symptom, felt sick, starving, sleepy, sore boobs, lots of discharge (sorry tmi!) lots of saliva and a really odd taste in my mouth. I was quite ill though with a nasty cough and it did go through my mind that my body was doing too much and could it cope?, and then AF arrived, although it was different to normal. Heavy initially and then really light and I passed something too!

I was really gutted and cried and cried while it was happening, which I think helped it pass! with all the shaking and weeping... It was a bit of a rollercoaster though so I would def. advise not testing early until sure AF is totally late.

I am ok now after being able to realise that it is nature's way - survival of the fittest and all that, and if there was something dodgy then I am kind of thankful that my body said a big fat no to it. It is just the rollercoaster aspect that was a bit stressful!

Anyway, here we go again - good luck everyone!!!

RubyBuckleberry · 09/01/2009 09:21

Hi stealth - do sainsbury's tests do false positives then? This was clearblue...

bubblebell1 · 09/01/2009 10:45

Oh ruby thats so sad. i hope this month is a lucky one and you get a nice sticky bean

i think from reading other threads that sainsburys tests can give false +ives.

i am gonna just try and bd everyday from cd8 to 25..... i dont know if it will work but with both ds's i used to bd everyday sometimes twice a day and got pregnant first month both times. i dont know if i have the stamina now tho.(tmi y do i feel its ok to share this info with you lot??) sorry

hopefully not long til some ppl are testing.. fingers crossed we get some grads soon.

gosh Bubble at everyday from 8-25, that is some going!

TrixieVix · 09/01/2009 11:39

Hi all - sorry for my negative post last night - just feel like it's getting on top of me a bit at the moment. I so want to be pg and I think because we didn't 'try' last time, I thought it would happen instantly!

Have had a bit of a stomache bug this week - not been or felt sick, but had a bad tum (if you know what I mean!!) again - TMI....why is it ok to share this with you?!

This morning I've got the most peculiar taste in my mouth - definitely not metallic, but a kind of flowery taste if that makes sense?! (the floral variety not the baking one!) and have got a huge amount of saliva too....am I just talking myself into it, or could they be signs of something?

Bubble - did make an appointment for Tuesday this week, but ended up being ill off work and so didn't make it. Will deffo rearrange it though.

Sending you all positive thoughts and vibes - send some back will you?!!!

fatandiknowit · 09/01/2009 11:43

EVERYDAY!!!

Good luck Bubble - I know I don't have the stamina for that!

idreamofbeanie · 09/01/2009 11:49

Ruby that is awful - I'm so sorry. Hope you have a very sticky little bean this month. I hadn't heard about the problems with Sainsburys own tests. MIne are from tesco - any problems with those?

littlemiss I had a faint line for 3 days on my ovulation sticks then got a really strong positive yesterday (CD15) so I'm not sure those faint lines mean anything. Maybe you will just ovulate later - what day are you on?

Wow bubblebell, that is going for it! Good luck, I hope you get lucky this month.

Well we are going to get in lots of BDing tonight and tomorrow (DP was away last night but BDd in the morning before he left ) then I'm starting the dreaded 2ww. I'm not feeling very hopeful for some reason which isn't like me at all. It's just that it all seems to come down to luck in the end and I've never thought of myself as a very lucky person. Don't get me wrong, I don't mean I have really bad luck or bad things happen in my life it's just that I've never so much as won a raffle prize and hate leaving things to chance. Sorry, this probably all sounds very stupid. I think I'm just feeling the effects of a gloomy dark and wet Friday morning !

idreamofbeanie · 09/01/2009 11:53

sorry trixievix - cross posted. Sorry you are feeling blue but we definitely all understand on this thread so feel free to come and have a wee moan when you need to. Good luck with the temping. Sending you back some positive vibes!

littlemiss26 · 09/01/2009 11:58

beanie the weather drags you down doesn't it. I'm on first cyle since mmc so all over the show, in theory i suppose i'm now on cd19 but i don't think it works quite like that after miscarriage. Anyways stay positive - if you've never won anything then you are due something about now (wouldn't you agree???)

i've been BDing every night since new years day, i guess you've just gotta keep trying - its not over until AF arrives!!

RubyBuckleberry · 09/01/2009 12:54

Thanks guys I'm hoping for a sticky bean lol too! We have been BDing everyday for the last week so we're def. opening the door for lady luck...

I am certainly learning alot on these threads and everyone has a story - it is not often plain sailing and it's not something we can even control (except for the BDing . The only thing we can seemingly do is create the conditions and then everything has to fall into place...

I'd never heard of problems with Sainsbury's either - have only used clearblue...

Good Luck Bubble with your marathon - you go lady!

theboob · 09/01/2009 13:10

Catz · 09/01/2009 13:39

Hello, I've been lurking on this thread a bit I hope you don't mind if I 'delurk' for a moment! We've decided to 'see what happens' for a DC2 (DD is 17 months) so not officially TTC in the sense of charting, doing OV sticks etc but I'm going to keep an eye on the calendar and try to be aware of my body's signs. I'll start the more 'serious' approach if things don't happen in the first couple of months. We were really lucky and conceived DD straight away so even thought this is the second time I've a lot of dumb questions, also feel that we've probably used our luck up first time and this one will take ages! Could I just ask some of my dumb questions...

  1. My last period started just before I went to bed on the 29th Dec but was 'full on' from the start (hope that's not TMI!) so do I count the 29th as day 1 (making today day 12) or the 30th which was the first full day (making today day 11)?
  1. My cycle was always dead on 28 days pre-DD but has been 30 days a couple of times whilst I was bf (stopped last month) Is it possible to ovulate earlier than day 12 in a 28 day cycle? I'm just wondering whether we might have already missed the boat this month already. Have told DH to expect a busy weekend!

Thanks and sorry this is a bit long.. can see this can get obsessive very quickly!

girlwithacurl · 09/01/2009 14:28

Hi catz with a 28-30 cycle its unlikley that you ovulate earlier than day 12, probably any day from day 14, I would start as soon as you can and keep going, see if you can keep up with the likes of bubble ... I have no hope, but will give it a good go!

No idea about your first question, i would probably count the next day, so that would put you on CD11

and yes, it cen get obsessive very quickly.

dancingqueeen · 09/01/2009 15:50

please can I ask what is probably a v dim question?
pretty sure i'm ovulating today... not doing sticks put based on cm. h2b probably won't be back until sunday evening, I'm guessing It'll be too late for this month by then?? is that right?? how long do you have from ovulating?

dancingqueeen · 09/01/2009 15:51

sorry I mean dh, only recently married, still getting used to calling him my husband!

RubyBuckleberry · 09/01/2009 17:54

i think eggs last 12 hours so maybe not... or is it 24 hours? worth a shot anyway?

Catz · 09/01/2009 18:58

Thanks for the reply girlwitha curl. STupidly it feels like a significant decision - deciding which day to count as CD1 - as if my body is going to think 'ah she picked the 30th, better hang on a day then!'
Not sure I can cope with following Bubble - sounds a bit sore!

Dancingqueen, you can see I'm not the expert here but from what I've read the egg lasts about 12 hrs too. Are you sure that you absolutely ovulated today. I've heard that the cm method is a bit tricky to be exact about because some people produce it for several days before and some for a shorter period etc... sure it's worth a try on Sunday

HomeintheSun · 09/01/2009 19:29

Hi everyone, I'm just checking in, I'm on cd10 today I'm going to start using my ov sticks tomorrow, quite excited (is that sad?)I'm so tired, DS has been running us into the ground, I don't know what to do with him, if he doesn't nap in the afternoon he falls asleep before 5pm and then wakes up an hour later and is then up until 10pm but if he does nap in the afternoon he's still up until 10pm. And we want another we must be mad, DH has just told me I have bags under my eyes the size of his Nan's bottom, lovely man.

TrixieVix · 09/01/2009 19:34

Think I might have just got a +ve....

Bought some cheap pg tests from eBay and just done one because I've had a strange feeling all day.

It's a faint line, but there are definintely 2 pink lines visable on the stick. Came up within the 5 minutes too.

Am going to repeat in the morning, but please please please - think positive for me!!

FifiOK · 09/01/2009 19:44

Hello everyone hope you're all feeling positive for the weekend. HomeintheSun You are not sad to be excited. I'm on the same CD as you and also doing ovulation sticks and I'm excited too ! Did one when I got back from work today and got a very faint positive so looking foward to getting a definite positive line in next few days. Just planning an early night just in case . Bubble maybe they should make BDing an olympic sport - I think you would win gold.

MintChocAddict · 09/01/2009 19:48

Oooh TrixieVix. Sounds very promising. Keeping fingers and toes crossed for the morning.

Just checking in too. Think I'm now at the start of the 2WW so not much to report here.
Hopefully it'll fly in.

Good luck to all.

FifiOK · 09/01/2009 19:50

TrixieVix Sounds very encouraging. I look forward to hearing your news in the morning. Thinking positively for you
