PS. ralphie sorry to hear AF arrived Are you moving on to the Nov thread? I will probably be there tomorrow too.

smallone keeping everything crossed this is your lucky cycle...when do you plan to test/when is AF due? Good luck with the wait xx

pedalmonster · 05/02/2009 21:29

Hello - hope you don't mind if I join you? TTC 2, cycle 1. CD1 was 18 Jan and ucl 29. which makes me about... CD19? had lots of action during 5 days prior and during EWCM so waiting with the rest of you ladies now. Although - funny turn of events - last night my boobs started leaking - just slightly. Anyone know what that might be from? Boobs quite sore and kind of fizzing...
bought the first response and also clear blue and TRYING to hang on till end of next week!

JumpingJellyfish · 05/02/2009 22:02

hmmm that's strange pedalmonster- mine started to leak a bit today too! (and I haven't BF DD since July!). Sounds promising for you, fingers crossed! (unfortunately in my case think it was just a freak boob thing as started spotting today and AF due any moment, but I do normally start leaking very early in pregnancy- my boobs seem to like making milk!). Try to hold off testing for another week if you can though, personally after too many cycles trying this time I have stopped early testing altogether, found all the BFNs even more disheartening than AF arriving, so this past 2 cycles have resisted doing any tests

ForcesSweetheart · 06/02/2009 00:19

Hi everyone
Apologies if I miss people on personals but this thread has always moved on so far in the few days between me getting on mn that I totally lose track.

OMG littlepea I am so chuffed for you!! What fantastic news. How are you settling in in Germany? DH found out today that we've been given Netheravon near Bulford for our next posting - not impressed, we were hoping for something closer to Scotland this time. Another guy on the course got York but doesn't wanna go up north so DH is now frantically trying to get a swap but I don't hold out much hope.

girl I'm sorry you're feeling so down. I do know how it feels. Before I had DD I remember bursting into tears in my GPs waiting room when I saw a gorgeous little toddler playing. I was convinced it would never happen for me. It took a while but it did in the end.

Sorry AF got you wishing, but at least if you know theres a 46 day pattern emerging you have something to work with. I've used preseed, I prefer it to things like KY - although that may just be their marketing working on my subconscious - I can be pretty gullible, an advertisers dream!

I can't recommend Persona highly enough. After over a year trying for baby #1 I bought a Persona and got pregnant on the 2nd month using it, now have a beautiful 3yo DD. I shoulda held onto it for this attempt but was pretty certain I knew my ov signs and wouldn't have any prob this time around - and now here I am on cycle 5!

bubble my GP wants me to have a day 21 test too, she is a charter and is happy to do it 7 days from when I tell her I think I ov'd. I'll be basing that on a combination of OPKs, saliva ferning, temping and cm. According to ovusoft I'm due to ov day 19 but going by past 6 mths I ov anywhere from cd17 to cd20.

Congrats hackneybird. Really hope it all goes well for you this time.

My GP was fab when I saw her last week. Although we've only had 4 cycles of trying she was very understanding. I told her I had concerns about my luteal phase, and she was sympathetic and understood why I don't want to wait til I've been trying longer before having some investigations done. She herself had a 6 day LP, and took agnus castus to help with it - she's now 6 months pregnant. Unfortunately she wants me to steer clear of the agnus castus because of my diabetes - she doesn't know what kind of effect it could have on blood sugars, but she said to keep going with the B6 and in the meantime she'll do the day 21 test. She suggested DH get his swimmers tested sooner rather than later as they won't refer me to a specialist at 6 months of trying unless he's been tested. DH went to see one of the army docs the other day and they gave him the necessary forms and collection jar to take a sample to the hospital when he can.

I'm expecting to ov next week, probably wednesday or thursday, and wouldn't you believe it - DH won't be home now til next Friday night coz he's stuck doing some adventure training thing this weekend. I've asked him to look into whether he can borrow a car from one of the guys on his course (I have our car and he gets a lift down to Blandford Sun nights and back Fri nights) to make a quick trip home on Tuesday or Wednesday night. Otherwise I'm going to have to do the drive down there with DD again (about 1h 40m each way). I really don't like doing that because it means leaving her asleep in the car while I run up to the singlies block for the quickest BD on record. I know she's going to be fine for 5 minutes - especially since it's inside an army camp with armed guards all over the place - but I'm still not comfortable with it. I can't wait til this course is over and we can have some semblance of normal family life again. Only 3 months to go thank goodness (of course then he'll probably get a 6mth tour in Afghanistan!).

Good luck everyone still waiting!

littlepea72 · 06/02/2009 08:49

Jumping have you tested yet? The boob things sounds good, ive never heard of it happening if your AF is coming on, and alot of people spot when af was due, but it never arrives....good luck!

Forces...Im still in shock, but trying not to get to excited, not after mc a year ago, but this time im getting sick & tired which i didnt get last time. Can you swap with the guy who is going up North? Some people always get the postings they want, we never did! Hubby is in the AGC & is the Reg Accountant, very boring!! LOL.. Does your DH know any of the girls on camp well? Could one of them do a bit of car babysitting while you are inside? Being female they would understand your position. Apart from that, wrap her up well and if its only going to take 5 mins then it shouldnt matter to much, like you say, she would be safe as houses. Good luck!!

smallone · 06/02/2009 09:23

Thanks girl jumping Any news? AF is due on Monday, not sure if I want to test then or not. I'd worked this out as 17DPO which was when AF arrived last month but will be CD30, when last months cycle was 33 days. When I was pg before I tested at 36 days coz I was convinced AF was going to arrive.

Monday is also my friends due date so might play the game of testing on the day her baby is born....mind you she might go two weeks over and I don't know if I could hold out that long!

As I'm sitting here I'm getting AF cramps so I might not even get as far as testing. Not going to buy any til at least monday so I can't get any early testing in.

Wishing · 06/02/2009 13:24

Hello ladies!

congrats little pea on the bfp! fab news! good luck smallone, have everything crossed for you - except my legs im afraid!

How is everyone else, so many on the thread, hard to make a personal note to everyone but i will try!

girlwith a curl sorry your so down, i get like that a lot and have felt like that very recently, thinking of you! dont think i can say anything that will really help if your anything like me! i just feel so miserable and curl up on my own, anything anyone says just falls on deaf ears and i sort of think " what do you know, how do you know what im feeling!" and then usually log straight on here where peopld 9 times out of 10 do know exactly how i feel! hope you feel more positive soon though, i know it soooooooo hard though! sending you a big hug! xxxx

Anynews bubble or jumping??

Has it settled in yet hackneybird and little pea??

And forces good luck!! the lenghts we go to to ensure we bd hey!! i must admit some of the other mn dh and dp impress me know end! my dh whinges at a vitamen!! He would go nuts i think if i turned at his work (a hotel so its not like there short on beds! hahaha) to try squeeze in a spot of bding, but needs must, if i dont catch a bean soon i may resort to those measures! Your GP does sound fab, i think i need to go to a female GP if things dont start to improve for me!

ANyway quick update on me, af has come to a end (slowly!) normally 3 days full flow and it goes as quick as it has started but not this time as well as taking her time to arrive she is coming in fits and starts! aaarrrrgghhh!! quite light this months which has made me feel better in terms of hardly any cramping but tampon not always comfortable sorry if thats tmi!! I really want her gone now so i can start to feel myself, pms quite bad this month i think, still sooooooooooooooo irritable you wouldnt believe and very tierd, plus if i see one more spot breakout i will scream!!

love to all take care xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Oh and sorry for anyone i missed and anyone who af has arrived for, lets hope she misses us next month for a while! xxxxxxxxxx

ForcesSweetheart · 06/02/2009 13:48

littlepea the sick/tiredness sounds like a good sign. Sending major sticky vibes your way. We don't know if they'll let them swap the postings, as the guy who got York is a Signaller and my DH is a full-screw - it shouldn't really matter as they're all gonna be coming out of this course as newly trained CS engineers but I suspect York will probably only have a vacancy for a Signaller (or maybe lance-jack as I think I remember dh saying they automatically get promoted to lance-jack on completion of this course but I may be wrong) and so wouldn't take a full-screw. Will just have to wait and hope for now.

Stay strong smallone and stay away from the tests!

Wishing is there no chance this is just spotting rather than full-on AF? If it's so light tampon is uncomfortable?

DHs adventure training has just been cancelled coz of the weather, but now he's stuck down in Blandford coz the roads are so bad! The guy who is his lift isn't sure he wants to try and drive home. I can see this cycle just being a washout, maybe I should just give in to it and head over to the next thread! On the positive side, every month I'm not pregnant is another 4lb or so off, which all should go to making a pregnancy a lot easier than the last one (I was about 24 stone plus and completely wheelchair bound before DD came out!)

ForcesSweetheart · 06/02/2009 16:21

DH is on his way home !! He convinced his mate/lift to go for it and they should be home in a couple of hours all being well. I think that as I'm due to ov on Wednesday or Thursday a BD on Sunday afternoon before he heads back will have to do for this month - that way we've had at least one shot at it and I won't feel so bad about not doing the BD dash midweek, especially in this weather.

Wishing · 06/02/2009 18:03

oh thats fab forces! baby dance your socks off!!

well i did wonder forces but i thought i was just clutching and straws!! there has been more blood than just spotting on and off as well?? Im still spotting today which is unsual for me!
xxxxxx

lovelylullaby · 06/02/2009 19:51

Been following all your progress but not always sure I can add anything. Wanted to say forces that's great news your fella is heading home! Was LOL at thought of you racing into barracks for a good BD.

This may sound daft, but each day it's great to see the updated list as it feels like some of us are either heading for a test, or on way to next cycle and trying ttc again.

At least we're all nearer to our goal than we were a month ago.

Had sore left boob and a teeny weeny bit of spotting on weds, but no AF. A teeny tiny bit of cramp makes me think she should appear tonight or tomorrow. Then again it could be another 40 days till she decides to appear, so i'm just taking it a day at a time and thinking if i can get to Monday with no AF I could think about testing in another week or so...

totalmisfit · 06/02/2009 20:12

pedalmonster and jumping the boob leaking thing sounds like a good sign! Mine have been a bit sore but perhaps i'm just noticing it more cos this is my first month looking for symptoms.

Did another test today.. the other one i had lying around. BFN again. Rationally i know it's still too early and i should restrain myself but just knowing it was sitting in the bathroom cabinet was impossible. At least now i don't have any more in the house and i've told myself i won't be wasting any more money on them. I know it's self-obsessed of me to get so down about ttc so early. Apologies to anyone reading this and wanting to slap some sense into me!

i feel that DH and i were arrogant to assume we could just snap our fingers and produce baby #2 exactly when we wanted. Now i'm wondering why we didn't start ttc 6 months ago. Have these crazy ideas that dd is missing out not having any siblings (she'll be 3 in March). Sorry, i know i'm being a self-centred old trout but i just needed to vent a little. Haven't told anyone in RL we're ttc so i'm just driving dh up the wall with it at the moment!

lovelylullaby · 06/02/2009 20:19

Vent all you want total. It's so hard to keep schtum with other people in RL when ttc is taking over all your thoughts. I must think about it every ten minutes and have been running to loo at work for last three days to check for AF. Colleagues must think i've got diorreahea

smallone · 07/02/2009 14:26

Hi all, my mate is in labour today so if I'm sticking by my game, I could test now! But haven't got any fortunately so will have to wait. I think AF will def start by monday tho so may not need to waste my money after all.

Glad to hear you get to do your bding in your own home forces

total we all know how you're feeling, definitely wouldn't get anymore tests til your due, ime it's just a waste of time/money and heartache. If its neg, you'll just wonder if its too early and if its pos you'll worry that its chem and AF will turn up anyway. Best to wait it out and not give these companies anymore of your hard earned cash that you could be spending on baby things! Sorry rant over!

JumpingJellyfish · 07/02/2009 15:41

Hello all, sorry for the silence don't have the internet at home and only back in work now

Af finally started properly today (CD28), 2 days late compared to previous cycles post DD/breastfeeding, so I'm out this month and will make yet another move to another thread. Quite sad as now it'll be cycle 9, but ordering OPKs online now, and will give temping a go too.

In a way I'm relieved that my cycle is back to 28 days, as I was always a dead regular 28 day girl right up until the past 9 months (post DD & BFing) where my cycle got shorter. I think it might mean my body has finally returned to it's pre-pregnancy state and I might now have more chance of conceiving. This could all be a load of rubbish but it's making me a bit more positive anyhow!

For those who temp if you go to bed late i.e. around 1am and get up early around 6.30am are first thing temps reliable?

Forces your posts have made me smile, happy babydancing, and lots of luck for this cycle!

littlepea the sickness is definitely a good sign, even though it can be miserable! I had ms badly with DD but hardly any with DS, didn't realise it could vary so much between pregnancies in one person.

total I really know how you feel, but try not to worry, I have friends with a 4yr age gap and at 14month age gap between theirs, and they all play well together once they're a bit older. In fact a neighbour had an "accidental" third child 9 years after her first 2, and the eldest 2 are just so brilliant with the youngest- I'm sure as adults they'll be close too. Like you though I assumed we'd conceive pretty much straightaway, like the past 2 times, and therefore held off TTC until the "ideal" gap we wanted (which was around the 2yr mark, and our first 2 are 2yrs 2mo apart which has worked pretty well so far), which is now getting bigger & bigger. But in a way at this rate it means DD would probably be more independent and some of the sheer physical labour will be reduced than having 2 really young ones...

smallone GOOD LUCK for testing, so proud of you for holding off! I ended up doing a test yesterday as I was a day overdue and spotting had pretty much stopped- of course BFN- but at least that meant I could have a couple of glasses of wine last night and knew then AF would appear within 12hrs, which she did! Fingers crossed for a BFP for you!

Will keep an eye on you all- good luck! x

smallone · 07/02/2009 17:33

Im out! At least I didn't waste money on tests eh? Sorry to hear that you're out too jumping but at least we can hold hands through next month as well!

Please take me off the list, I'm off to find Nov thread. Good luck everyone else.

totalmisfit · 07/02/2009 20:36

smallone, jumping so sorry to hear this month isn't your month. Thank you both for your kind words and i shall have my fingers crossed for you both for november xx

lovely i know what you mean about thinking about it every 10 minutes... i dread to think what i'll be like when i finally do get that BFP!

pavlovthecat · 08/02/2009 10:40

Can I ask a question for all those still here?

How long until I can do pg test?

I had implant taken out this month and no AF yet so cannot go on that for sure, but going on the whole ovulation etc, I beleive I ovulated around the 22nd? Jan, or so, so think I am not quite due my AF yet, possibly due in next day or two? Given that we ttc this month, on a vague, you never know...when would I be able to accurately test? Oh I am sooooo green about this!

pavlovthecat · 08/02/2009 10:42

(i say this month, I mean this cycle

smallone · 08/02/2009 13:20

Still here! AF playing tricks on me the wiley witch!

Pavlov, if you can assume that you have an average LP of 14 days then you just add 14 days to when you think you ov'd, and that would be when you AF should come, if you go 2 or 3 days past that then it wouldn't be unreasonable to do a test, but don't know how much the implant would affect things, so this might not be reliable on this cycle. I reckon you could get away with testing tomorrow with FMU

smallone · 08/02/2009 13:26

Last night there was a tiny bit of brown blood, I only noticed it because of scrutinising loo paper but today there is nothing, I've never had spotting pre AF before, but I'm not holding out any hope of implantation coz I've got all the usual cramps so I reckon AF will start by tomorrow am. Why is it as soon as you start ttc, you get all sorts of variations that you never had before? Anyway, as I'm in limbo I thought I'd hover on the fence between both boards.

lovelylullaby · 08/02/2009 13:35

Don't loose hope yet small one Maybe the cramps are cells whizzing around inside and multiplying? I had a teeny spot of blood and a tiny blood clot on weds and then cramps the last few days but no AF yet. I never get cramps that are there all the time (though admittedly they are only tiny) so i'm hoping the cramps mean there's lots going on inside.

JumpingJellyfish · 08/02/2009 13:42

lovely sounds very, very promising! When are you planning to test?

smallone I too never, ever spotted pre-AF until these past few months of TTC, and it has had me most confused (and hopeful at times). I'm really hoping for you it's a good sign and "proper" AF doesn't come! Spotting for me often starts 3 days before full-flow- I have 1 or 2 days of brown discharge, then usually a day of nothing at all (which gets my hopes up...) and then suddenly AF comes in full red flow!

I did bleed a tiny bit in the first trimester with DD around 8 weeks when my second missed period would have been due, but luckily it was only "old" /brown blood. So I think your body can still "try" to have a period even when pregnant, but it shouldn't be fresh/red blood.

Keeping fingers crossed for you all!
