Got a bit confused with CD, apparently I'm on CD13 not 8 Updated list.

eeyore2 · 11/01/2009 15:01

So... (warning, long post)...I had noticed a slightly strange feeling and more than usual cm (sorry if tmi). So just on the offchance I did an opk test and it came up with a positive smiley face sign. So it seems like I might finally be about to ovulate, on CD48. I had given up on the idea of ovulating this cycle, because I had a positive OPK on CD15 which never materialised into a temp shift or an AF, and I got a BFP when I tested at CD35. But the really annoying news is that I am about to depart on a business trip for the next three days, leaving at 5am tomorrow morning. So I will have to try to get in lots of BD this evening and then cross my fingers. Plus it might end up being another red herring like the one on CD15. Sorry if I've bored you all, just wanted to get it off my chest!

andi0411 · 11/01/2009 15:59

Hi ladies thanks for the welcome. I am on cd4 today but I'm really not even sure if this is a 'proper' af as I had a chemical pg but I'm going to treat it as such. Have been in bed most of week-end as bleeding was quite painful and my af's are normally painless....Bleeding stoppped today so I'm going to aim for pestering my other half every 2 days from cd6 to cd 20- that should cover it for me in a regular 27-28 day cycle. Poor man...
I am also NOT going to test early as this chemical pg has been such a heart-break. I want to be 'late' and then take it from there.
How's everyone else feeling today?

bubblebell1 · 11/01/2009 16:06

hi andi, i have no experience of a cp. i dont even know what it is. i thought you were either pregnant or not. maybe you should see the dr. i do hope this month has better luck for you.

Andi sounds like you have had a rough time with the chemical pg. Good luck with the BD marathon. Eeyore your DH has his work cut out before 5am tomorrow
I've been OP testing again today and had a proper line about as dark as the control line. Feeling very reassured that something is actually happening.

girlwithacurl · 11/01/2009 17:25

hello everyone, congrats stealth and Trixie!
Eeyore, that sounds really confusing, did you have EWCM lsat time? I would see that as a really positive sign!

eeyore2 · 11/01/2009 17:37

Thanks girlwithacurl. I had a bit of ewcm last time but not much. It's a bit complicated but I had surgery to have my wisdom teeth out just around the same time as the last time I got a positive OPK, and had to take lots of heavy duty painkillers etc. So I had a feeling that maybe I was ready to ovulate but it didn't actually happen - fertility friend says that a big shock or stress can do that. I'm crossing my fingers that's what happened. Anyway, I'm waiting for dh's best friend to leave the flat (they are watching football oblivious to my drama)and then jump on him tonight, possibly waking him up at 4am tomorrow morning as well!
Andi and Homeinthesun, good luck with your BD marathon and Fifi, great news about the OPK.

Hi everyone, can I join you? I'm moving over from sept board, AF arrived today, am really disappointed as I thought we'd cracked it this time. But onwards and upwards eh? Evening Ladies

Wow you have all been very busy, just trying to catch up on things as haven?t been online over the last few days.

Firstly Congratulations Trixie and Stelth on your BFP?s. Lots of sticky baby glue coming your way and let?s hope they are the beginning to a very successful thread.

Welcoe to all the newbies

WizzyWoo Sorry to hear that AF is lurking, hope she has buggered off now. My AF was also taking a while, but I?m all set for beginning BD?ing tomorrow. At last Hopefully it?ll be the last AF we have for a while and that?s why she was hanging around

Ralphie0956 Happy belated birthday

Joy27 Welcome to the thread. So sorry to hear of your mc. I also had a mc last April, is a horrible thing to experience, let?s hope that we get our sticky beans very soon.

Theboob Dancingqueen Fingers crossed that you both managed to catch that egg on the days that you did bed. I know its easy to feel down when you?ve missed those important days (DP works away a lot also), but I always try and think that people get pg after one night stands? In a way that really sucks, but also keep things in perspective a little. Sending baby dust your way

Andi0411 Sorry to hear of your CP and history of mc. Fingers crossed that this is your cycle.

earlynite & devilsA I to cant help myself but look at prams, baby clothes and picking baby names Glad to see that I am not the only one

Looking forward to starting BD?ing tomorrow. Just trying the every other day method, with B6 and Folic acid supplement, and grapefruit juice.

If I don?t fall this cycle will be trying OPK?s and preseed next cycle so will be interesting to see if it works for those who have been using it. x

Hi all, just wanted to say that Im not going to join in much this month, Ive always concieved really easily in the past and I got so into it last month, totally obsessed that I probably got stressed out and thats why it didnt happen.

Ive decided not to buy any ovulation kits, not 'try' and just see how we go.

I will pop back now and then, and I wish you all the world of luck ttc this month

gettingstarted · 11/01/2009 22:06

StealthPo09IsHere I got my preseed from here and it came through the post. They are in pipette like things you squeeze up there - nice!
We are sad so and so's aswell, being not pregnant and thinking of names - its our late night, lights off conversation

What is the green light thing and an opk? I am just using cheap ovulation tests from web - is there something better out there? I have been taking evening primrose in the 1st half of my cycle to increase my cm but no ewcm to date I did have it when I was younger - but now I'm the whole of 31 it seems to have dried up

warmseabreeze sorry to hear about your mc. It's quite a coincidence that we had such a similar experience. And it would be great if we had another more positive coincidence this month eh?

smallone sorry to see you got your period. We were supposed to get bfps tomorrow weren't we... bah.

I wonder whether anyone can help with a question I asked on another thread which got "lost": I started bleeding very lightly at 7.30pm ish on Fri night, with full af starting Sat morning. So is Fri my CD1, or Saturday? Any answers appreciated.

WizzyWoo · 11/01/2009 22:39

Hi LittlePrincess, AF has finally departed so BD'd tonight just for practice, hooray!

Glad to be finally able to "try" although part of me is terrified about getting pg again - we've got no family support around us and all our friends' work full-time. With DD 15 months, wonder how I'll cope being pg with a toddler and then being on maternity leave with her and "future baby". I also suffered from PND last time, so really hope I don't end up the same this time... still, at least now I know the signs to look out for (all assuming I get pg in the first place of course).

I'm sure we're doing the right thing, just feeling a bit unsettled now that we're actually BDing rather than just having sex, IYSWIM.

I'm also thinking of baby names even though I keep trying not to. Find myself scanning credits at end of TV progs and trying out different names that catch my eye to see how they fit with our surname. Have to say, "Future Baby" is starting to have quite a ring to it although can't really see him/her thanking me for a name like that!!

Hi joy I don't think today was a good day for testing was it? At least I didn't waste another test. I was thinking today how strange it is that I spend 24hrs gutted about AF and then I just spring back into action. Suppose you've got to with this ttc lark tho.

I've heard some people count af in the morning as that day and af in afternoon as the next day, also some have a cut off time of 6pm. I, however, count from the first spotting at whatever time it is as that day. Coz I'm using the persona tho, you can only reset it in the morning so I have to count the first morning of af as cd1. (I still keep my actual cd in my head tho!) I don't think it matters all that much as long as you always do the same.

bubble Don't think I'd have the stamina to do every day! Are you using anything to pinpoint ov? Maybe you could do daily for a few days around ov and every other day either side of that just to make sure? Or you could aim for everyday so it doesn't matter so much if you miss the odd day here or there?

I've got my own question. How long does everyone keep bding after ov?

idreamofbeanie · 12/01/2009 09:43

Morning ladies,

wizzywoo - glad AF has packed up and left, hopefully this will be the last visit for a while! Sorry to hear about the PND and your concerns this time around. We have recently moved to a new city so I'm also worried about the lack of support but am hoping to meet other mums through antenatal classes or mother and baby group - did you try any of that last time?

moss - that sounds very sensible. Good luck for this month and I hope you will be popping back with good news.

Hi to everyone else - this thread is so busy now it's hard to keep up so sorry for missing anyone out.

I can't believe I am only on CD19 - this month just seems to be dragging by. I know I would be better off trying not too think about it too much but I am soooo excited about having a baby I can't stop . It's my birthday next week so hopefully that will be a good distraction. I love this thread for letting me know other people feel the same so if I am going crazy at least I am not alone . I am also thinking about names I like, and DP and I spent a lot of time at the weekend talking about what kind of house/area we want to raise our kids in (recently moved to a new city and renting somewhere small until we decide where we want to rent or buy long-term). Oh come on BFP!

girlwithacurl · 12/01/2009 10:02

smallone i keep going until FF tells me I have deinitly ov'd, so after 3 higher temps. If you're not temping this would be 3 days after ov. the Deanna plan suggests day of ov, next 2 days, one day off then once more. I always worry that if I have managed to fertilise then all the romping will dislodge, but I know I am being silly and DP gives me a good talking to.

Joy27 · 12/01/2009 10:24

smallone, in answer to your question, here's my rather longwinded philosophy:

I am trying to keep things as normal as poss in terms of when/how often, ie fairly often (2-3 times/week) throughout entire cycle. This is because I really don't want it to become prescriptive and "functional". Admittedly I'm a bit more militant about keeping it every other day around middle of cycle. So I would say just continue going for it after ov.

This is very possibly much tmi, but this weekend with af, I even thought "what the hell" and we did it anyway. I wouldn't normally do this (feel a bit embarassed about "ew" factor even after all these years!), but there was something about doing it when it's virtually impossible to conceive, that keeps the ttc crazies at bay.

Also, continuing to have sex after ov keeps mind off 2ww!

bubble, I reckon I'd run out of steam doing it every single day!

idreamofbeanie · 12/01/2009 10:41

smallone I tend to agree with joy although as DP works away just now there is also a lot of 'making the most of the nights we have together' going into that decision. We don't have bubble's stamina (I am in awe ) but generally BD 2-4 times a week and maybe a bit more in middle of cycle depending on how often he is home.

irishmumwannabe · 12/01/2009 11:13

wizzy i had pnd with both my dc. after ds2 it was particularly bad i wouldnt let anyone hold him and still to this day i only let my mil baby sit. didnt leave the house for weeks on end. not getting dressed etc but worse than that was scary thoughts that something was going to happen to me and noone would be able to look after dc. i didnt want to go anywhere or see anyone because i thought they all knew or could tell i was a crap mum. i know, i know, im a nutter. all of that put dh off having anymore. (cant say i blame him) but i managed to convince him that everything will be ok... im hoping! gp and health visitor have suggested various ways of coping after any future babies and im sure if you spoke to yours then they will help you.
