Hi all,

Thought I'd add my name to this. Due to test Monday 22nd Dec but may hold off for a few days if I can

Although I have been feeling sick since yesterday morning, bit early though, maybe I'm willing myself to be preggers and this is all in my head!

beanieb · 16/12/2008 11:27

My period will be due around the 29th so can I join?

girlwithacurl · 16/12/2008 12:37

Glad is wasn't just me!

I really want to test on Sat if AF doesn't get me first, due thurs, no symptoms either way as yet so I guess I might be late this month, which would really mess with my head!

Welcome beanieb and aideesmum we might not be able to drink, but we can still have a good time!

Hi all - haven't been on here for a few days mainly because I'm pretty sure AF is on her way. Have got the classic tender boobs and the occasional cramp, combined with slightly lower temp yesterday and today, and a smidgen of spotting. So am 95% certain period will arrive tonight or tomorrow morning. Of course, there's still 5% of me that's hoping MAYBE these are all pregnancy symptoms... but I know I'm just kidding myself. Have had to stop myself testing today because I know it's just a waste of money.

Oh well, at least it means I can happily drink myself silly over Christmas. But it's slightly gutting - even though this is only our first month of 'properly' ttc - I'd always naively hoped I'd get up the duff on the first go. It's obviously more difficult than it seems!

Maybe I'll see some of you on next month's 2ww?!

LadyMetroland · 16/12/2008 17:39

Obviously, I should add that I hope I WON'T see you on next month's 2ww thread! Hopefully you're all going to get festive BFPs!

tinselandglittercoveredwincies · 16/12/2008 19:24

Sorry to hear you're feeling pants smiley, I gave up with the OPKs in the end as they never picked up my ov, even thought I was (and getting up the duff). Grrrr on your behalf .

Any news sunnydale, hope you enjoyed your lunch either way .

Also very windy at this end and combined with peeing for my country and feeling a big bleurghhh, I'm begin to obsessively symptom spot . I'm only about 8DPO, so I know that it's all in my mind. Slap me someone please!

StealthPolarBear · 16/12/2008 20:25

Hi everyone
Sorry so many think AF is on the way - in the same way you can obsess with symptoms thinking you are pg, don't you think you can go the other way? I know last time I was convinced I'd be disappointed again and I wasn't.
Anyway, given the length of my so called cycle I'll still be around in January either way

olivo · 17/12/2008 08:35

BFN for me this morning . feeling sorry for myself. and fertiltly friend doesnt help ,giving me 88 points for my symptoms! grrrr...

2manychips · 17/12/2008 09:31

Hey girls, there's still hope if you're feeling premenstrual. I've been so certain af was coming that I stopped taking my folic acid. Well when dh went to work this a.m at 5, I found myself sleepily wee-ing on a stick due to more dizzy spells and well... a faint but definite BFP!!!!! Trying not to get too excitable as I had a cp a few cycles back but looks like I could be having an alcohol-free christmas! hope we get some more v soon. Knew the Lionel Ritchie moment was telling me something!

olivo · 17/12/2008 09:37

OMG - congratulations toomanychips!
I am so pleased for you.
just off to dig out my lionel ritchie cd

girlwithacurl · 17/12/2008 09:38

muckypups · 17/12/2008 09:48

Good Luck to you all. i got my BFP on Christmas day a few years ago. I got a faint one on the Christmas eve but with so many false posotives (bloody e bay tests) i needed to be sure so i got up at about 4 am Christmas day and it was lovely bright blue in seconds so new it was true. My Ds is now 2. Take Care xx

VJayMerrilyOnHigh · 17/12/2008 11:26

I don't have any symptoms of either PG or AF variety... will be testing on sat now as FF has me ov ealier than I thought... not sure I understand its reasoning, but who am I question!

smileycat · 17/12/2008 15:11

Another high temp this morning so have def OV'd earlier than I would of liked too so I have updated my dates. FF says to test on 26th but as long as my temp is high I'll do one of Xmas day fingers crossed it'll be an extra special pressie

Oh nearly forgot to say yeah 2manychips fantastic news lets hope you are the 1st of many on this festive wait

girlwithacurl · 17/12/2008 15:21

right, fed up of no symptoms, so am going to use anything I have, however tenuouse!

I am going cross eyed... definite PG symptom and NOT because I have been sat staring at my screen for too long

my nose is itching... again, i feel this is one of those weird localised things, like getting acupucture in your shin for a shoulder ache.

Heart flutter... this is because my body is excited about what my head knows not as yet, and not because I have been eating tonnes of chocolate.

thats it for now, but I think its pretty conclusive!

2manychips · 17/12/2008 17:18

my excitement was v short lived, after a 2nd bfp after last post I started getting pains and bleeding this afternoon. Am a bit confused and down now. Hope you other lovely ladies have better luck. x

Sunnydale · 17/12/2008 17:31

Oh 2manychips I was so happy for you and poised to type "congrats" and then I read your last post. I don't know much about it, but I've heard other women bleed and still be PG. Not to get your hopes up, but one friend bled throughout her PG and has a healthy 2 year old now. Thinking of you.

Sorry too, Olivo, for your BFN. I also got one yesterday morning. I wasn't surprised, as I had no symptoms and also pretty bad flu and a temp of 103 during my fertile period, plus we only BD'd four times. I'm consoling myself that 1) an August baby would have been the youngest in its class (not that I'd have cared, obviously - just clutching at straws!) and 2) I can have a drink at Christmas. No other reasons to be glad for a BFN, and so I'll just hope for the best next month, I guess. This was only my second month of trying, but I can imagine the BFNs just get harder and harder to take as time goes on. I just hope AF comes soon, as the worst thing of all seems to be when you're stuck in limbo-land with no BFP and no AF. Anyway, baby dust to the rest of you xx

VJayMerrilyOnHigh · 17/12/2008 18:29

2many if the bleeding doesn't get too heavy it could be implantation bleeding. Do another test in a couple of days or so.
olivio and sunny according to the list you've tested too early , try again in couple of days too if af hasn't arrived, you never know, you could be pg after all.
I hope you all are, and wish you the best of luck. Throwing loads and loads of baby dust at you xxx

OP posts:
tinselandglittercoveredwincies · 17/12/2008 19:32

Hope that it hangs on in there 2many, eveything crossed.

Trying to stay calm now as I've been having general queasiness and that 'hung over' feeling at breakfast and early evening, which was exactly the same pattern with ds, but not with the mcs. Ds started as twins which is why I felt so pants so early. Also, if I'm on a 28 day this month rather than a 30 (it varies) then symptoms now with AF due on Sunday wouldn't be so weird.

[trying not get my hopes up emoticon]

olivo · 17/12/2008 20:01

2many, i really hope it works out for you. i too had bleeding early on with dd.

sunny - my dd is late august birthday !!! good luck ot you for AF staying away.
smiley - step away from the tests (if only i could follow my own advice!)

tinsel good luck!
and to everyone, lots of sticky baby dust....

StealthPolarBear · 17/12/2008 21:24

SOrry about -ve olivo - hope a retest tells a different story
Keeping fingers crossed 2many xx
