Good luck and positive vibes to us all!

Hello. I have been somewhere hot for a bit. lovely. So nice to read that Mollie and Lou have had BFPs! Congrats.

ClaireDeLoon · 21/04/2009 08:36

ooh where have you been blackrock?

Mammina · 21/04/2009 15:15

thanks for all the nice messages. had a horrible scare on sunday, thought my waters had broken so spent the day in hospital - they couldn't tell either way (baby was fine) and said if nothing else happened within 24 hours (thank god it didn't) then I should assume everything's ok . I think they think I pissed myself!! All very odd - I definitely didn't wet my pants as I would have known, so am just hoping that I sat down in something and didn't notice til I got up...

anyway, this thread isn't about me, sorry, just wanted to congratulate lou and a big hello to the others

SmilingEi · 22/04/2009 14:27

Feeling a little low today, waking up this morning I was dreaming my period had started how weird is that. Also at this time of year it seems the pregnancy bumps emerge from their winter clothes to make you feel sad.

How is everyone else today?

Molliemooma · 24/04/2009 10:30

Claire Sending you a virtual hug, I know what you mean, dreams and bumps are there to haunt us. I know it should be slightly different for me, but I'm not coping too well at the moment and GP has signed me off for a week. I hope things pick up for you soon, I see you are on the 2WW so everything is crossed for you Are you still keeping busy with the kitchen?
Migola Sounds like you had a scary experience, hope everything is OK now
Blackrock Very of your holiday, let's hope the sun brings you some luck this cycle
Beanie Right so Clomid is finished, have you had a +ve yet for OV?
EI Are your temps still rising?
Shayer How are things with you?
PL You've been quiet, hope you are OK?
Sparkly Hello
Zen Any symptoms?

ClaireDeLoon · 24/04/2009 10:46

Thanks Mollie. Hugs for you too. have they booked you in for a scan?

beanieb · 24/04/2009 11:23

Hi all.

Claire sorry to hear you are down. We have 3 sets of twins on the way in my work place. It can be tough sometimes.

migola hope everything is ok now, lovely to hear from you.

blackrock hope the holiday was relaxing and that you're good?

ie amd crossing everything for you x

Shayerahol wave, hope things are good.

wave too at mollie and everyone else.

Just had a peak on my fertility monitor, though not sure how accurate it is on Clomid. Also had a scan on Wednesday where they said they could see a big folicle and that I hadn't been over stimulated so not likely that if I got pregnant it would be twins PHEW!

We're just going to go for it now (And have been :blush and see what happens. The Doc said I may get ovulation pains but so far nothing. I don't normally get them TBH but she said even if I don't usually the Clomid can make it painful!?

I have cycled to work (About 4 miles there and back) every day this week but Wednesday. which has been putting me in a really good mood. Not too strenuous I don't think. I used to do it every day before I learned to drive but hadn't for a while so was a bit wobbly the first day. I think improving my fitness can only be good for the old TTC lark. Also haven't had much alcohol.

Wow - that was a bit long!

Molliemooma · 24/04/2009 11:43

claire Thanks No scan date yet, booked to see MW next Thursday hopefully she can book a scan for the week after as that's when I'm 8 wks
Beanie Sounds like you are doing all the right things, be careful on the bike, make sure you save some energy for the bedroom

OP posts:
ClaireDeLoon · 24/04/2009 14:10

That's all positive beanie!!! Which side was it? If you know you'll have to lie tilted afterwards to help the swimmers go in the right direction

beanieb · 24/04/2009 15:39

The left apparently. He he.

Weirdly I always wondered if my left Ovary was actually working as twice when I have had a scan they have had a problem seeing it, so I was relieved when they said it was the left. My friend (when I was getting in a silly panic about taking clomid and moaning that I ovulate anyway so what difference will it make?) said perhaps I have lazy ovaries and the clomid will boost them. Hope so.

Funny thing was the doctor who scanned me said she was having trouble seeing the right one because of all the wind in my bowel!

I should have farted before I went in!

PistachioLemon · 24/04/2009 15:55

Hello ladies, it's all been very quiet around here, must be the sunshine.

Beanie all sounds good for you, LOL at the farting (or lack of, definitely better out than in, in this case!)

Mollie I'm fine thanks honey, there's just very little to report at the moment. Actually, that's not completely true, I realised yesterday that I was on CD10, which means I am on CD11 today so I'm planning ways to get busy this weekend and to take advantage of BIL being away (woohoo!). Hopefully your MW can book you in for an 8 week scan - what can you normally see at that stage? Will there be arms and legs and stuff? As you can see I've been studiously ignoring anything that happens once you get preggo - I reckon I'll cross that bridge once I get to it!

Hello to everyone else

Ladies, can I ask a silly question please... after doing the business, what do you do to keep all the swimmers in place? Normally I just lie there like an idiot for a while (TMI -sorry!) but I've heard things about lying on pillows, or sticking your bum in the air (very elegant!) and Claire mentioned lying on your side (but how do you know which side?), and someone else said something about handstands (I'm definitely not trying that one). So I was wondering, is there an accepted wisdom as to what is 'best'?

ClaireDeLoon · 24/04/2009 16:06

PistachioLemon I do bum on pillow. In fact DP asks me at random points of my cycle if I should have my bum on a pillow (like say the day after my period has ended, or two days before my period is due) so I'm starting to think he's forgotten why I do it and just thinks I have a fetish for lying on a pillow after sex.

It probably isn't all that important in the end, they say that just 10-15 minutes or so lying down is plenty as it doesn't actually take the sperm long to swim past the cervix.

I do it because the smear test nurse said I had a tilted womb and bum on a pillow may help. I hasn't. But there is no harm in trying.

Not sure about standing on your head. I would consider this if we ever find out DP's swimmers go the wrong way but until then I'll stick to my pillow

beanieb · 24/04/2009 16:14

I do the sticking my legs up in the air with a pillow under my bum thing because my OH always tells me to but I have read that it's not really been scientifically proven to help.

A friend of mine was telling me about a programme she saw about the sperm journey which said the speed with which a man ejaculates is something like someone travelling down a long tunnel at 100's of miles an hour and that the difficult part is providing a 'ladder' of cervical mucus for the sperm to swim up.

beanieb · 24/04/2009 16:16

X post with ClaireDeLoon

I am sure too that I read somewhere (probably the internet!) that sometimes you can be tilted the other way so some people are better lying face down on a pillow.

I've tried both because I'll try anything!

PistachioLemon · 24/04/2009 16:20

Thanks Claire and Beanie, I think I shall try the pillow and see what happens. Can't hurt, eh!

By the way, was that the Great Sperm Race Beanie? I saw that too, the funniest bit (apart from the surreal people dressed up in sperm suits running up a mountain) was the expert who said the most important bit was to have 'gourmet' sex... well that's all very good and well for for her to say but not much help when you're sure you ovulated that day and your DH is tired!

beanieb · 24/04/2009 16:39

yeah - I think it was. She told me all about it in great detail but I had forgotten the name. I think I'll have a look for it online. What is Gourmet sex

Molliemooma · 24/04/2009 16:44

To help the "ladder" of CM I definately recommend pre-seed, oh and I stick my legs in the air with a pillow under my bum too, it's so elegant and romantic
