Morning ladies

GG hope you're feeling good today . I wouldn't worry about the lack of symptoms, they don't kick in until the 5-6 week mark. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that the little beans are snuggling down well . I'm feeling very positive for you. And glad to hear you're stepping away from Google! Your poor DH though - he must be mortified. Has he gone off to Germany now?

Bucky sounds like you had plenty of action at the right time. I think it varies, but for me EWCM definitely dries up before I ov. And don't stress out about having a social life - according to the consultant I saw about IVF it's vital

JollyBear I was giggling at the comment made at your post-natal group . Though it's lovely that your DD looks like you

Ei hope you and your DH are doing well.

PnM hope things are good with you. I was reading this article yesterday about owls delivering rings at weddings (at which I was very ) and was thinking of you and your noisy owl neighbours

Waves to MrsH (hope the holiday's fab!) and MOB and RFN2&3 and DigitalGirl and everyone

Nothing interesting to report here - I'm still sticking to the 2.5l of water a day recommended by my acupuncturist. I've gone all scientific on it, totally indulging my geek side (measured how much each of our glasses at home hold and how much my work water bottle holds ). And on that note best be off to fill my water bottle...tis an exciting life I'm leading

mibbes · 04/03/2009 21:39

Hello ladies !

Quick post to say that I agree that Bucky has BD'd at the perfect time - as JB so wisely says, you should BD when the EWCM is abundant so that the swimmers are alive and kicking wheh the egg pops out , I'll be watching with interest...

GG am so excited for you and also and your naughty DH - men are just so rubbish sometimes - arrggh !

JB I have had similar comments - when DS was tiny and skinny everyone said how much he loooked like his dad, now that he is chunky and quite frankly a porker, everyone comments on his likeness to me !!! How rude , I mean I know I have a few pounds to shift but there is no need for that !!

Caitni LOL at your geeky water drinking

All well here - BFing still a bit hit or miss painwise but far better than before. It must be working though as like DG's DS, my DS has gone from ickle 9th centile to 50th all on my boobies . Also getting more sleep over here which makes life so much easier .

HappyandEiknowit · 04/03/2009 22:41

hi ladies
just a quickie to say hi
hope everyone is well
i have the referral appointment tomorrow [nail-biting emoticon] its at 315pm so il pop on and let you lot know how it went
mibbes ive been meaning to ask you is it stirling you are from?? me and my sister are coming up to stirling in june for research for her book as thats where it is set (she is a writer and is currently writing a book) she has alot of the main tourist locations and quite a few not so popular ones in there aswell and we are visiting wallace high aswell! if thats your neck of the woods dya fancy meeting us for a coffee while we are up there?? DH and DD are probably going to coming along with us for a little adventure
im glad BF is going well and that evan is thriving
hey there and hello to everyone else
xx ei xx

GorgonsGin · 05/03/2009 12:21

mibbes and jolly - . It only seems 5 minutes since we were all symptom spotting with you two . You sound like you are both thriving as a mum, and your little DS and DD's are thriving too!

LOL that now your babies is all healthy and chubby (as all babies should be with lovely squashy arms and legs ) that he looks like you now . Who do you think he looks like?

Mibbes - I had forgotten you lived in lovely Sirling. My best friend lives in Riverside and it is a great city. I'm very jealous, as I'd love to move back north. I'm working on DH to agree as he is a Sassenach. Maybe if the IVF works, i will have more ability to persuade him ) Hope you are loving the maternity leave and getting a little more sleep.

Ei - good luck with your appointment later this afternoon and please come back and tell us what happened.

Is anyone else on the 2WW? Nothing much to report here. No symptoms and just a waiting game. It's quite boring really - no drinking, being good to myself with early nights, twiddling my thumbs until test day. It feels like waiting for your exam results -the anti-climax after studying like mad and then doing nothing while you wait to to find out if you've passed . There isn't even the customary post exam p*ss up to enjoy

caitni - woweee, 2.5 litres a day! You probably have to snatch a few minutes to post between loo visits

Bucky - any news from you?

Big hello to ready and anyone else missed and everyone else!

Bucky2008 · 05/03/2009 14:20

Yes GG I'm on the 2WW too...CD19 here though so crunch day is a little while after you find out! .

Quite boring here too though. I have decided, (you better all sit down for this one), that I am not going to drink alcohol for whole month. Yes, March is a dry month for Bucky . What with all the commercial networking and then going out with my friends I was beginning to feel like I was on a constant bender. So I am taking time out.

I second what GG said about our cyber neices and nephews. Great that they are all growing up and that you have settled into graduate life .

Aw, I wish this month I could have a BFP ! Surely its my turn NOW???? . Ah well, I'm not hopeful but we'll see. xx

Thought I would change my name for 2009! Bucky2008 is so out of date!!

Caitni · 05/03/2009 17:02

I LOVE the new name BuckygoLucky

Waves to everyone else - I'm actually about to head into ANOTHER boring meeting [sigh] so must rush off again [double sigh]

HappyandEiknowit · 05/03/2009 20:17

hi ladies
so my appointment went well the scan showed nothing obvious wrong with my womb and ovaries which is fab! the consultant had a look at my test results and it has been confirmed now that i have got APS and i will need treatment when i do eventually get pregnant!! he is being very thorough and has ordered a HSG to be done next cycle, he has given me a load of forms to have my bloods done for hormones at the start of my next cycle and he wants me to temp next cycle aswell so i can pinpoint ov and have a 'day 21' test the downside is...wait for it... we are not eligible for any funding for fertility treatment!! all because we have got a child!! that means ALL treatment options have to be paid for privately!! thats all drug regimes (clomid included) and all other treatment options are basically out for us as we cant afford the £400-£4000 pricetag!!
so its basically have the tests to see where we stand and then give up if we need further treatment i know im being greedy as i have already got DD but i just feel so sad when i think of her not having the little brother or sister she is constantly asking for well i suppose we will cross that bridge when we come to it and we hopefully never will come to it!
hope everyone is doing well
xx ei xx

GorgonsGin · 06/03/2009 11:18

hello there everyone! It's a lovely sunny day where I am - hope it's gorgeous and spring like where you are too!

"BuckygoLucky - i can't wait for your next name change which will hopefully be BuckyGOTLucky* . Fingers crossed for you! I'm impressed at the giving up alcohol for March - you go girl! I did it for January, but fell off the wagon and only managed to reach 22nd without a drink . In the end probably only consumed about 3 glasses of wine that month, which is good going i think . You sort of lose the taste for drinking lots after a while and now I'm quite happy with a glass every so often, which I never thought I'd say, because i used to party hard and drink a LOT. The hardest thing for me was that I didn't want to go out with friends and NOT drink. Boring and I couldn't face people assuming I was up the duff because I had a soft drink and knowing looks/nudge nudge wink wink stuff .

Ei - That is fantsastic that your appointment went well and the scan showed no issue i am sorry about the IVF funding rules in your area It is such a postcode lottery with NHS funded assisted conception. It does sound like your doctor is excellent and thorough by making sure he covers everything off, which is a great bonus. Back to temping again!

caitni - otherwise known as Our Lady Of The Loo

mrsH - if you are loking in to the WIMBEWAI(N)F, hope you are having a fantastic time enjoying the fabulous weather in SA and the little bean is fine and dandy!

I am having a quiet weekend - DVD's and a trip to the flicks tomorrow night. We are trying to fill our nail biting weekend with suitably distracting, yet alcohol free, pursuits, that are nice and far away from any Boots and CBD temptation We are turning into a couple of right middle aged fogey types - museums, theatre, long walks in the park. And to think that i met Dh while drink at 2am in a karaoke pub. Ahhhh, them were the days (before TTC/IVF and CBD)

GorgonsGin · 07/03/2009 10:58

Someone stop me

I am fidgeting and trying sooooo hard to resist the temptation to pee on a stick this morning. DH is trying to persude me to wait until Monday night and distracting me with DVD's but this is really hard. I have lost all confidence that the IVF has worked and couldn't sleep last night for worrying. I just don't think I am PG . I don't feel it or sense it or whatever. The breast tenderness and bloated tummy has gone, exactly the same as when my period is about to start (although AF may not arrive for a while because of all the IVF drugs). Won't know until I test, but don't want to test too early either. Grrrr, this is the WORST 2WW ever

sorry for the rant

readyfornumber2and3 · 07/03/2009 16:26

GG When are you able to test and get a true answer? If it helps when I was pg with DS I didnt feel remotely pregnant and only tested to rule it out so was rather shocked to see the 2nd line!!
Hope the next few days pass quickly and that you get the BFP you so rightly deserve x

GorgonsGin · 07/03/2009 16:41

readyfor2and3 - thanks for telling me about when you were PG with your DD . That makes me feel better. I can test "legitimately" on Tuesday.

Well, someone should slap me - hard. I did the test. My fingers were far too itchy to stop myself. I am crap with suspense.

BFN

I know, I know....it's really early and the test could be wrong, but I am now super pessimistic. I just don't think I am. I'll have to try again on Tuesday, if nothing else because I have to let the hospital know for their records, but I am probably out (again) this month . Feel like I've been kicked.

Madoldbird · 07/03/2009 17:07

Oh GG It IS too early to test though, but i do, so much, understand the temptation. ALso, it was not FMU, was it? Please, please do not give up hope yet. Try and wait until Tuesday now, if you can. Please look after yourself. XXX

EI So please your insides are looking good! I hope that you get a BFP very soon, so they can give you the right treatment. Being victims of the fertlity treatment postcode lottery ourselves, I believe that it is so, so cruel and unfair. There should be a national policy on funding.

Hope everyone else is ok - sorry it's a rushed post.

MOB XX

Caitni · 07/03/2009 18:13

Oh GG I'm so sorry you had a BFN but it is way too early to test. And as MOB pointed out, it wasn't FMU either. I'm still hopeful you'll get the BFP you deserve. As RFN2&3 says it's completely possible to not "feel" pregnant and be pregnant as symptoms don't kick in until hormone levels get high enough. Still, massive massive for you, you poor thing...I can't even begin to imagine how horrible this TWW is for you...

Ei I'm so glad to hear you've got a lovely womb and ovaries!! And glad to hear you're getting all the necessary bloods and HSG. But how horrible that you're not eligible for any funding . I hope you don't need it, and that you'll get pregnant and get the necessary treatment for the APS. Please don't feel greedy for wanting another child. You love and appreciate your DD but that doesn't stop the desire for another baby to complete your family. I'm also temping this month so can keep you company . Maybe we'll all get our BFPs this month [fingers crossed hopefully emoticon]

MOB & RFN2&3 hope you're both keeping beautifully and that the twins are happy

Bucky & PnM hope you're having good weekends

MrsH hello! (just in case you pop on while on holidays )

I've just had a lovely lunch with a friend and her utterly gorgeous 5 month old baby boy. A very timely reminder why we're putting ourselves all this ttc stress! We're also using pre-seed this month. I get lots of EWCM but DH suggested it (the fact that he even knows its name shocked me!) on the basis that it doesn't hurt. Here's hoping

PicknMix · 07/03/2009 23:07

Gg I'm so sorry you've had such a stressful weekend. This 2ww must be doubly hard for you, I echo what the others have said that it is too early to test and it wasn't fmu. I really wish I could be more help to you as can see how difficult the next few days will be for you. Big big .

Thats truely rubbish Ei about your pct funding. Have my fingers crossed for your tests that all will be good and you wont need any treatment. Sounds like so far so good with your healthy innards and really brilliant you have such a committed consultant.

Lovely to see you Mibbes . Great to hear ds is doing well and the feeding is improving. Bet he's gorgeous and chubby now - can't wait to see some more pictures! Met Dgs little ds last sat - he's a little stunner as well!

Lovely to hear all is going well with you as well Jb and Jollycub!

Hows the water consumption going Caitni? If you've started temping again as well does this mean we get to view some wonderful graphs? Do you use fertility friend? I haven't temped for months, dh got fed up with the beep every 6a.m!

Am loving the new name Bucky - loving Ggs version as well . Am sure your bfp is just around the corner (with mine hopefully). Hows the no drinking going this weekend? Am impressed by your resolve (although do remember even your dr said it was actually ok to indulge so don't put yourself under too much pressure).

Hope you're having/have had a fab time MrsH

All is ok chez PnM - cd 23 and no idea where in my cycle I am. In fact, may dust off the thermometer and join in with Ei and Caitni just to give myself an inkling of when to expect the egg. Had the sorest boobs the last week so think the egg has been and gone, which would be about right as I've been away working so no action in the PnM house. Ah well, who wants a winter baby anyway .

On the upside, bought a dresser on ebay for £45 (thought it would go for around £150) so have rearranged house to fit it in. Can you tell I've found myself a new hobby to replace the rollercoaster hobby that is ttc?

Oh, and thank you Bucky for arranging last Sat - had a truely lovely day and enjoyed seeing everyone (although those who couldn't make it were definitely missed).

GorgonsGin · 08/03/2009 08:08

thanks to everyone being so lovely . Sorry, I don't have long to post so this is a quickie. I did another test this morning with FMU and using a First Response. As suspected, nothing's changed and it is still a BFN . I know it is still early, but I am absolutely sure that the IVF hasn't worked, so it's back to square one.

readyfornumber2and3 · 08/03/2009 08:25

GG I really hope that its just early testing (((higs)))

PnM Great bargain on the dresser, Hope that you havent missed the egg though x

Caitni Glad you had a good lunch and hope the temping works for you and that you are soon taking your own gorgeous bundle out for lunch

Hi to everyone else x

Well I am 15+3 and apart from tiredness I feel rather unpregnant lol, just waiting for the flutters to start (get the odd one but nothing regular) I am seeing the midwife on monday so will get to hear the heartbeats for the first time

PicknMix · 08/03/2009 18:13

How are you doing this evening GG? I'm sorry to hear it was another bfn this morning. Have been thinking of you all day and only just had time to log on. Hope you're doing something lovely with DH this evening? If you're not, d'ya fancy coming virtual shopping with me for a wedding outfit?? Am scouring ebay (you all must think I'm quite a skank as everything comes from there - I prefer to think of myself as 'resouceful' )

Great to hear all is going well with you R4N2&3 - you must be excited about hearing the heartbeats

Found out this morning (via Facebook) that a friend is expecting her first child in Sept. I know I know I know I can't speculate on her circumstance (as I know nothing about it) but she's written on another friends wall "x and I have finally managed to fall pregnant". She's been married for a year ffs (and I know they wouldn't have been trying before marriage as they're both keen church goers).

God I'm an evil old witch sometimes - I'm not particularly close to her and I think this must be why she comes so low down by my Laws of Deservedness...

BuckygoLucky · 08/03/2009 20:31

GG , What ARE you doing???? Stop testing woman! (higs). Surely the whole IVF malarky buggers everything up cycle wise? Wait until the date they told you to test missus and if you get a BFN I will fall off the wagon for you and we will go get a commiseratory (sp?)(real word?) drink. I know this must be the most torturous days of your life, thinking of you. xx

PMSL at PnM the skank...LOL . My DP is addicted to Ebay so no judging here in fact I think I may have to have a look later on...In fact I am going to look for a wedding outfit for you and will check back later...

HappyandEiknowit · 08/03/2009 23:10

hey ladies
hope everyone is ok
GG sorry you have had BFN but listen to the wise words of bucky and all of the others and please stop testing as you know it is way too early and it is possible at this stage to still test negative when you are actually pregnant. i had BFN 2 days before my BFP with DD so it is possible and it is only torturing yourself testing now {{{{higs}}}}} dont lose heart xx
not much going on here just watching CSI new york with a cuppa and some biccies me and DH have been giving it good wellie TTC-wise this cycle as i really dont want to have the HSG and DH is not looking forward to his visit to the wanky-porn room at our local fertility clinic which is set for 28th april he doesnt mind doing it for fun but he seems to think it will be painful having to aim into a little pot (and to be honest i think he is a little offended at the less than generous pot they gave him haha)bloody men eh!!
hope everyone else is ok and having a nice sunday night
xx ei xx

JollyBear · 09/03/2009 10:41

Morning all,

GG Please stop testing! Lots of good advice has already been handed out re the reasons why but I'll add that I didn't feel pregnant at all until the nausea kicked in and that wasn't for a few weeks after the BFP. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for tomorrow for you.

ei Glad to hear you got a clean bill of health. It is sad that you wouldn't get IVF funding. LOL at your DH wanting a bigger pot! I didn't realise that seed volume was considored a sign of verility (sp?) until I got some spam emails, obviously assuming I was a man, and offering in increase my male spillage. I must have led a sheltered life .

Bucky I love the new name. How is your 2ww going?

I hope all you tempers are going to post links to your charts - I love a FF chart.

mibbes Glad all is well with you and DS. A few ladies on our PN thread have been wondering how you are. You should come back - I miss my old FF buddy!

Bye for now - I'll be back tomorrow for GG's update.

GorgonsGin · 09/03/2009 11:13

I know, you are all right. Thnak you fro being sensible when I am clearly off my head i am really sorry for being a drama queen . I was definitely having a mad, red mist moment of panic testing and DH has also shaken some sense into me too. I kinda lost it . Tomorrow is proper Test Day, so can legitimately POAS and report in then with the true result. I promise that I am back to normal and semi-sane GG again Keep your fingers crossed for me.

picknmix - well doen on the new dresser! I always find it a bit odd when friends annouce their up-the-duff-ness on Facebook. It's so "look at me!!!" LOL at your Laws Of Deservedness". You are so right and that's exactly how I feel. Some people frankly do not qualify as suitably deserved . i am sure there should be a TTC version of Dante's Inferno with the inner circle of TTC Hell being reserved for the "Oh, we conceived on the first attempt! Couldn't believe it. 1 shag and we got DB! My DP must have super sperm!" types . Followed by the "Oh, you just have to relax" types in circle six . The "Oh, we really want a BOY! I have been eating lots of salty food to get a boy" types also need to transplanted somewhere hot and devilish!

ei - your poor DH and the wanky porn room. i think my DH is VERY glad that part fo the proceedings is over because he got performance anxiety and the lock was borken on the room the day he did it for IVF . LOL at the little pot - maybe he could ask for one with a bigger opened to aim at? 26th April is not long now! HSG are not fun - when is yours scheduled for?

Bucky - how is the no drnking going? Did you last the weekend? What else have you been up to/

hello to Jolly, MOB ready2and3 and caitni who is currently keeping Evian in business, i htink...? Hello to anyone missed.

Must dash, as i have loads of work to do today and I spent most of Friday fidgeting and googling early symptoms It's official, I am a MESS of nerves

JollyBear · 09/03/2009 11:52

GG I love the TCC version of Dante's inferno! "My husband just has to look at me and I'm pregnant" needs to be in there somewhere. Oh and I think your nerves and early testing are completely understandable. I don't want to imply that I would be anything other than a googling bag of nerves in your situation! A 2ww is awful at the best of times but this must be almost unbearable.

and good luck for tomorrow.

GorgonsGin · 09/03/2009 15:01

jolly - we will definitely add the "My husband just has to look at me" people to the circles of TTC Hell . Anyone else think of any?

Update - I've had period pains since mid morning and I've had some spotting Jeez, what's going on down there!?! I'm finding this SO hard

I've never had a 2WW like this. I know I was PG because that's what IVF does. It's whether I stay PG, which killing me.

MrsHappy · 09/03/2009 19:16

Just a quickie because I don't want the rellies to know about my MN habit, but I had to post to send higs to GG. The 2WW is tough enough in normal circumstances but must be far worse in an IVF cycle. FWIW, neither spotting nor cramps rules out pregnancy (I always cramp like mad when I am pg) so don't give up just yet.

I'll be checking in tomorrow to find out what the "official" test says, but if it is a BFN this time, then next time it will work.
