Hi. I'm a newbie. Can I join too. I am due to start meds for my first NHS IVF attempt, in three weeks time. Don't know what to expect and having jitters as i have got so used to AF coming every month for the last 4 TTC years.

Dalrymps · 20/02/2009 22:57

Hi KC11, welcome! I've got my fingers and toes crossed for you. Hope it goes well! How many attempts do you get? Or does it depend on your specific situation?

bringonthetrumpets · 20/02/2009 23:04

hi is alright if i join? i have 1 ds, aged 5 months. this is our first cycle trying and i'm really excited! ds was a lovely surprise so actually trying for #2 is quite special for us. still exclusively bf so will probably take a long time but trying to notice differences through my cycle (on day 4 atm) as we go along in hopes of actual ovulation.

any words of wisdom for the greenhorn?

Dalrymps · 21/02/2009 00:02

Hi! This is so weird, I was just laughing and telling my dh that there was someone on MN with the name 'bringonthetrumpets', awesome name lol.

Of course you can join, nice to have some fresh faces, had quite a few newbies joint the group lately! Welcome!

bringonthetrumpets · 21/02/2009 10:50

haha thanks i can't really take the credit-dh was the one who suggested it!

thank you! will be nice to chat with others going through the same thing. bring on the trumpets bfps !!

Dalrymps · 21/02/2009 11:14

ha ha ha trumpets. Looking forward to chatting

Claire236 · 21/02/2009 15:43

Welcome mumofbaby, KC11 & bringonthetrumpets. It's been a bit quiet lately so I think we could do with a few more of us.

bringonthetrumpets · 21/02/2009 15:51

i'm sure the next batch of ttc'ers will be along. seems like it happens it waves doesn't it?

bringonthetrumpets · 22/02/2009 21:59

so everyone must be too busy off making babies to have time to talk about it.

Sparklytwinkletoes · 22/02/2009 22:15

Hi all, welcome to the newbies...I'm a RL friend of LaTour's that has also recently graduated from TTC to pg, she's having a break from MN after being 'found' in RL, which she's quite about.

Pg is going OK but like me (both pg after MC) its one step at a time and will be greatly relieved to see a positive first scan.

Fingers crossed for you all

STT x

kittycatcat · 23/02/2009 09:09

Welcome to mumofbaby, KC11 and bringonthetrumpets....i cant read your name without shouting it . hehe. Fab.

Good luck to you all.

for latour and [hugs]

bringonthetrumpets · 23/02/2009 10:17

thank you very much kitty

so we're on what seems to be day 7 (i think anyway, as af is very all over the place these days) and we've bd on 3 different occasions.... guess we'll just have to keep going through the whole cycle b/c i haven't got a clue when ovul'n happens with bf. getting some ewcm but then it seems af starts like two days after that in previous months. just started weaning ds last week (and he's so fab at it too!! ) so i'm hoping things will start getting a little more regular in the whole af department!

Dalrymps · 23/02/2009 11:07

We're on day 10 and have been goffing as much as poss, think 4 times so far, gonna be knackered by the end of this month lol

Claire236 · 23/02/2009 18:31

We're on day 20 & have now been trying for 6 months. Apologies to those who have been trying a lot longer but having got pg with ds within a week of coming off the pill 6 months feels like an eternity to me.

bringonthetrumpets · 23/02/2009 20:31

sorry to hear it's taking a while for you claire. hope you get some good news soon!!

Claire236 · 24/02/2009 14:48

Thanks. Let's hope for BFPs for all of us soon - can I be horribly selfish & hope I'm first though. I assume we all hope we're first although this could be where I discover I'm considerably more selfish than everyone else on this thread.

bringonthetrumpets · 24/02/2009 19:06

of course you can be selfish claire i'm actually just happy if i get pregnant, could care less if i'm first or last (okay maybe not the last one b/c the sooner the cooler!) so fingers crossed for your (first) bfp!

Dalrymps · 24/02/2009 20:26

Don't feel bad claire, I secretly hope my bfp is sooner rather than later too

Dalrymps · 24/02/2009 22:07

By the way, I might be alone in this but does anyone else feel all the goffing is a bit of a hasstle?

Dh and I sometimes have to muster every last ounce of energy just to 'do it'. We don't always feel in the mood at the moment as the pressure of having to do it at cetain times takes the romance and spontinaety out of it.

I never realised ttc was so difficult!

bringonthetrumpets · 25/02/2009 09:21

yes!! we usually go to bed completely knackered but thankfully the mooooood kicks in . with dh working late shifts atm getting the task at hand done is a bit more work than it used to be.

Claire236 · 25/02/2009 17:49

dh doesn't like the idea of GOFing just to get pregnant so I pretend I just want lots more sex than usual. Sometimes I really don't feel like it.

BBeingpatient · 01/03/2009 17:23

latour i dont know if your still here, and i dont know how many others will remember me (BB) but i wanted to tell you all im pregnant at last!! thanks for ll your support xxx

Dalrymps · 01/03/2009 22:17

BBeingpatient - I remember you!!! congratulations so so pleased for you!

Fill us in on the details... How long were you ttcing for? How did you find out? What did dh say?

Biccy · 01/03/2009 22:44

Hello, can I join you?

Have been TTC since September. Have conceived twice, didn't make it to 5 weeks with the first and lost the second at 7 weeks nearly two weeks ago.

Although I am very sad to have MC, I am already feeling like just getting on with it and trying again. My hospital leaflet says to wait one complete cycle, but I just feel the gap between dd1 (2.9) and potential new baby widening by the day, plus we are awful at contraception that has to be thought about in the moment, IYSWIM... is it a disaster if you conceive after MC before next AF? Is there a medical reason for waiting, or is it more so you can right yourself emotionally, plus to make dating easier? Obviously we wouldn't be 'trying' in quite the same way, with less knowledge of where in my cycle we are; but should it happen 'by accident on purpose', would that be okay, medically?

Dalrymps · 01/03/2009 23:07

Of course you can join Biccy

So sorry to hear about your MC

I can't imagine what it must feel like, glad you're feeling optomistic about ttcing again.

Not sure of the medical reasons as to why you shouldn't ttc agian straight away, maybe someone else on the thread will know more... I have heard of people concieving straight away again though

We've been goffing like mad this month. I know you're supposed to do it every other day to guarantee good quality sperm but we've been at it every day . Does anyone know if this is bad? Crossing my fingers it works!
