Yeh gr8 news Hayzee! were cycle buddies again!
Sounds really promising Issy, they say lots of cramping is a sign of early bfp, god how ironic would that be! can't wait to hear your news
Dr rang yesterday (well his secretary did) they are gonna squeese me in for hSG on cd 16 (meant to be done between 7 & 15 but he seems to think it'll be ok) god i how i don't ovulate till after cd 16 as we have to refrain from bd'ing till after!
Has anyone here gone through an HSG? how long after do you have to wait before bd'ing? i've googled it and some say 24hrs some 3 days!!! so confusing

Hi girls. I'm out again. Low temp (ish - a cold is keeping it just above the coverline) and spotting today. Expecting full AF later. Managed to get the doctor to squeeze me in for bloods on Monday for the new clinic so really hoping I don't have HIV, hepB/C and my FSH & LH are still OK nearly two years since I first had them done. Also having blood count done - not sure what that is, might have to google .

Glad you're getting your hsg done Nicci. I had HyCoSy and wasn't bding anyway so I'm afraid I can't help much. It did mess up my cycles for two months though. Although I have heard that the tubes get 'cleared' from the process and some people conceive right after - not sure if same applies to hsg.

ttcbby2 - it's natural to be worried but try not to. I'm sure you'll see a lovely tadpole with a heartbeat on your scan.

Take care everyone xxx

hayzee · 16/01/2009 15:34

god this period is making up the ones that i missed its agony. Havent had any side effects as yet last time i took it i didnt get any and it didnt work.
ive had the hsg done and everyone told me it was really painful etc well i got myself in such a state but it was slightly more uncomfortable than a smear test. I did spot for a day or two but other than that i was fine.

Issy42 · 16/01/2009 15:38

Hi Hayzee. Sending you a virtual hot, milky drink and hot water bottle.

pinkmook · 19/01/2009 18:07

Hello all _ just thought I'd introduce myself as Issy42 tempted me over with promises of this being a lucky thread! grin So I am here to probably prove that I can break a lucky charm I am so unlucky! LOL!

I have taken my first round of clomid this month (50mg) and am currently on the 2WW (4dpo) I am taking Clomid for male issue infertility before going for the full on IUI/IVF route (app booked for 27th Jan eek!)

Hope no one minds me jumping in on here also I am not sure whatn the hcg trigger shot is? I have just been given clomid...what is the hcg shot for? (sorry for being slow!)

auntiemoo · 19/01/2009 20:28

Hi pinkmook and welcome, I'm on clomid for unexplained infertility but not the hcg trigger so I too am not sure what that is. Ooooooh your IVF starts really soon, my fingers are crossed already for you. Lets hope you bring some more good news to this thread

How is everyone??

Moo xxx

Issy42 · 19/01/2009 20:54

Welcome pinkmook. Both Ei and ttcbby2 popped in here and got BFPs that cycle so let's hope we're lucky for you too. The hcg trigger ripens the eggs and makes you ovulate - it's generally used for women who don't ov naturally or where treatment has to be timed. It's used in both IUI and IVF. My IVF consultation is 26th so we're about the same time.

I'm OK Moo. Busy week. Big day at work and bloods done today, in London tomorrow and grandma's funeral in Weston-super-Mare Thursday. Since I had to be away two nights anyway, so that I can visit my other grandmother in S Wales, decided to have a break in the Cotswolds for the weekend. Bit of R&R after the stress of funeral and hopefully stop me worrying about appointment on Monday.

Is your hsg around 28th Nicci? Big week for the thread.

How you feeling Hayzee. Cramps any better? How's your nan now?

hopefulnicci · 20/01/2009 11:42

Issy you didn't update us on any symptom spotting aren't u about 12dpo now?? guess ur SO busy with everything else it's taking your mind off things which is good. Hope ur week goes well. Yeh my hsg is for 27th at 11am, just wanna get it over and done with now. Welcome newbies the more the merrier!! X

Hi Guys thanks for the welcomes.

I have just recieved my info pack from the fertility clinic and I could really do with some advice/info if any one can help?

Basically it lists a load of tests and scans they require at your booking in app, but most of them I have just had done by the NHS. Do they generally make you repeat all these (and hence, pay for them) or will they accept/request them from the NHS if you tell them you've already had them recently? because they add upo to hundreds of pounds and it seems stupid when we have literally just had them done! I have tried to ring the clinic but its closed for the day and I am worrying about it!!

AAny help greatly appreciated xx

Issy42 · 20/01/2009 23:31

Hi Nicci. I'm on day 4 now, hence bloods yesterday. Did I not say that AF arrived Saturday - must be on too many threads? So no symptom spotting for me this month - I hate not even being able to try. Hope your ov holds off until after the hsg. Did you find out how long after you have to wait before you can try?

Pinkmook - I would have thought your clinic would accept your NHS results. Mine sent me a letter asking me to bring copies of results of anything previously done. They also gave me a list of bloods, but the letter was worded that if I couldn't get them done locally, they could do them at a cost. I do know from reading the fertilityfriends.com thread for my clinic that they need them to be no more than 6 months old though, so I got my FSH and LH redone. You should check here - go to your geographical area and there will probably be an 'Anyone at ...' thread for your clinic. I outright asked on my clinic thread how much the treatment really costs and people didn't mind answering. Also my clinic website lists tests that are not on my letter. Try not to worry.

My pg friend has just given me the remaining Pregnacare conception tablets from the month she got pg - her lucky pack, so I'm going to take them around IVF time and hope they bring me luck.

pinkmook · 21/01/2009 18:17

Thanks Issy, I managed to email them and they sid any tests done in the last 12months they will use. However when I had my last app with the NHS I asked about this and they told me the clinic would have to request them I dont see why they couldn't just let me have them ... but anyway thats just me moaning!

Thnks for your help xx

auntiemoo · 22/01/2009 11:08

Hi All

Don't know how but I have managed to forget where I am in my cycle!?! This is the first time in over 3 years that I don't know what day I am on lol, perhaps it's a good thing?? Am really excited at the min coz I'm getting my house done up (at long last) so my mind is on other things at the moment other than BDing lol. Lets see if the "stop trying and it will happen" method works, have to say I'm doubtful though. So far this year has been soooooooo much better than last year so hopefully things are looking up. How is everyone and where are you all up to, I haven't posted much recently but I do still lurk and see how everyone is

Babydust for everyone

Oh my ttc is said to try us!!!
As you all know i'm supposedly due my HSG on tues nxt week CD 16 (they had to sqeeze me in as previous week was full up) now normally that wouldn't have been a problem, i normally only ovulate around CD19. but, for some god damn reason i've just got a high reading on my CBFM CD12 which would indicate that i'm gonna get a peak on CD14. What the hell am i to do. I call my obs office and left a message and she returned my call to simply say 'well you won't conceive this cycle then if u want it done you must obstain from intercourse till after sorry' how unhelpful is that. If that's the case i've taken clomid 4 nothing! i've a good mind to just BD i've read some posts where women weren't told not to bd before or after HSG, although the majority oif themn were having it done on CD7-9 so way off ovulation. What do u guys think i should do? shall i just forget it this month and book it for feb on a cycle i don't do clomid? (i haven't got a repeat prescription so this was my last lot of clomid! please help i'm lost & my Obs secretary finished at 1pm today so i've no one else to ask

hayzee · 24/01/2009 16:42

hi nicci i know how you feel the first time i had my appointment for my hsg they refused to do it as i had sex just after my period even though they made me do a test which was neg. Their reason for it was that if you get pregnant then it can seriously damage the baby. My advice would be that as this is your last prescription for clomid i would cancel the hsg you can always have it done next month but you cant take the clomid next month. If you did get pregnant this month and went ahead with the hsg and something bad happened you would never forgive yourself and its not worth the risk. I wasnt even allowed to have sex leading up to the hsg just in case you get pregnant and you dont know. Hope you are otherwise ok ill let you know how my scan goes on monday xxxx.

hopefulnicci · 25/01/2009 09:05

Thanks Hayzee, your message just 2nd what i've been feeling these last couple of days. Will cancel HSG and try again nxt month. Besides we BD last night (First time in weeks as we were told not to bd either). I've a good feeling about this month, maybe i won't need it afterall. lets hope the feeling proves me right. As i've mentioned b4 my 2 closest friends are pregnant now 6 weeeks & i'm finding that hard already!! Best of luck with scan tomorrow, can't wait to hear ur update. X

Hi girls. Been away since Thursday so not been on. Nicci - agree with Hayzee - move the hsg to next month, but looks like you've already decided that anyway. Hopefully you won't need it.

Good luck for tomorrow Hayzee .

Pinkmook - I've just started a new thread with reference levels for blood tests that came with my results, which may be useful for you.

My results were OK, LH was 5.9 and FSH 4.9, nearly same as 18-months ago. Negative for HIV & Hep B/C. Full blood count came back with one low result though, for neutrophil count - was only 0.1 below norm though, so hope just because I had a cold. First appointment at the IVF clinic tomorrow. Will be nice too get an idea of timescales. Really hope I don't have to wait too long for treatment.

hayzee · 26/01/2009 11:14

issy good luck at the clinic lets hope that you dont have to wait too long for your treatment.
i got some fantastic news at the scan im on day 13 and i had a follicle measuring at 20mm which is great last time on day 17 it was only 17mm so i had my jab done. Im just glad that its worked as if it hadnt then that would of been the end of the clomid i feel more of a woman as my body is doing what its supposed to even if i need a little help.

Issy42

Am wondering if you've ever been given a diagnosis of the underlying fertility problem.

Has your LH level been consistently higher than that of FSH?. Both of these should in any case be compared against each other, not just looked at separately (because they can appear okay if only looked at individually).

Attila

Issy42 · 26/01/2009 22:59

Hi Nicci and Hayzee - brilliant news. Let's hope this is your lucky month. Today was fine except have to wait for my IVF, which was rather disappointing. Have antral follicle count scan next period and then they are full to start down regging in February so can't start until March. Now debating whether to have more IUI whilst I'm waiting. Also might have another option which I'll keep to myself for now as won't know until later in the week and don't want to jinx it.

Attila - I don't have an underlying fertility problem - apart from the lack of sperm. FSH:LH ratio is only considered an issue if it's greater than 2.5. My results are very good for my age.

Would like to wish you the very best of luck to your with your forthcoming fertility treatment.

nicci thats great that we are exactly on track with each other we will have to definately keep each other updated this cycle maybe its a good sign you never know. We can keep our fingers crossed but not our legs as that would be no good lol.xxx
