Hello Everyone

crunchy aaw sorry you're having such a hard time, hope ur horse will be ok hun. Have you done a pg test yet??

Welcome VAM hope its just your body settling after the pill. My friend once missed a whole month but then they got back on track after that.

Aaw has anyone seen Marley & Me?? I cried bucket loads at that film, Dawn i am sure that will make you cry

I went for my ultrasound today and they found one big follicle - 22mm so they are going ahead with the IUI on wednesday!!!! I have to inject myself tonight and am dreading it cos i hate needles but you gotta do what you gotta do!! Plus the nurse said she couldnt see polycystic ovaries on this scan so thats good news too, so am happy today xxxx

Littleluce · 30/03/2009 21:35

Hello ladies,

I'm new to MN today and have been reading this brilliant thread and am wondering if I can join in?

Was reading VAM's situation and realised we're in the same boat! Came off pill Dec last year and have had one 'normal' period - but am now CD46 and very confused!

Saw doc this morning who mentioned Agnus Castus supplement and wondered if anyone had any experience of it?

makingafamily · 30/03/2009 23:08

Hey ladies

Lovely to have even more newbies so make sure you get yourself added to the list

Vix 22mm is really good So i'm guessing from what you've said, your clinic do the IUI 36 hours after the trigger shot? Good luck, im so so so excited for you

Littleluce Ive looked at Agnus Castus for s short Leutal phase. If your doc's recommending it give it a go

Still waiting for AF here

makingafamily · 30/03/2009 23:27

and welcome back Crunchy. We missed you

shirleyc · 31/03/2009 07:35

Hi all good morning.

littleluce welcome to mumsnet!

vix good luck for Wednesdays its all sounding really good for you!Great news

crunchy I hoped you have a better month this month and no more upheavels such as you've just had. Sounds like you really need a break sweet.

pistachio Im good thanks had to call NHS helpline last night as had a couple pains i was worried about, but all is fine she said it sounds like its all coming to an end Hows the non smoking going? I have fallen a couple of time this weekend but im sure you will understand

veryannie looking forward to seeing your symptom spotting, im staying well clear of that this month but always interested in hearing about other peoples symptoms

Dawn I so hope you managed to enjoy your meal out last night and have something sweet and enjoyable! Sooo BH! how exciting for you makes it all seem so more real doesn't it! As for abnormal for not crying nahh to me you sound pretty sane unlike summer lol

if i've missed someone out sorry!! So what have you lovely ladies got planned today? Im doing nothing other than pottering about have 2 days of work! DH even made me coffee in bed before he went to work this morning , he even offered to stay home to be with me yesterday but i sent him on his way, bless him.

DawnAS · 31/03/2009 09:32

Morning all!!

Welcome back Crunchy, I hope things settle in your life soon. So where has your AF gone - hoping the old witch stays away for good!!! Well, maybe not too much longer than 9 months...

Shirley, in a weird (totally supportive way - honest!!), I feel really proud of you, the way you've handled all this. You are a strong cookie!! Yay for pottering!! I'm back at work and have loads to do but checking my MN is always the first task of the day!!

MAF, please tell your AF to hurry up - do you think all the missing AFs are having a party somewhere?!!

Littleluce, welcome hun!! This is a lovely thread, you'll make lots of new friends on here!!

Vix, Ooooh, that sounds brilliant hun!! How did you get on with the injection last night? I'm a dab hand now!! Did they show you the angle to put the needle at? I wouldn't believe it until I tried it, that if you put the needle in at the right angle, you don't even feel it!! So now I know when I'm doing it wrong because it stings and starts to bleed straight away - amazing really!! I haven't seen the film yet but I have read the book as we got our yellow lab puppy just as it came out. I cried and laughed all the way through the book - and I do know the ending so I'll be prepared with a box of kleenex!!

Morning to Pistachio, Summer and VAM!!

So, I now have the dreaded swollen feet and ankles. I couldn't get my boots on last night - boo hoo!! Not only that, but when we took Tilly (lab) out yesterday afternoon, I twisted my knee. It's fine as long as I don't try and move!!!!

Had a lovely meal last night. The hospital never got back to me with advice on the insulin dosage I needed so I ended up taking advice from a kind lady on MN. I took 4 units of Insulin but 2 hours after eating the meal the reading was still high at 8.9, so I should have taken more. But at least I'll know for next time!! I had Leek and Potato Soup, Scampi and Chips and a gorgeous Rhubarb and Raspberry Bakewell Tart with Clotted Cream!! Yum yum yum... it was definitely worth the slightly higher reading! My bloods are back down to 5.1 this morning as I had to have some more insulin before I went to bed, so back on track now - phew!!

Hope all you girlies are having a lovely day!!

xxxx

summerbird · 31/03/2009 12:47

dawn i am having Braxton Hicks too, i freaked out when i got the first one as my bump went solid! Well done on persevering with the needles too. I hope the meal was worth it!!

crunchy welcome back hun, sorry you are having a crap time, but hope your horse gets better and you have a better few months ahead of you

welcome to the friendliest thread on MN littleluce we are all here to hold your hand!!

shirley i am indeed insane and am an emotional wreck at the best of times!!

Vix67 · 31/03/2009 20:02

Hello Ladies

Littleluce Welcome to the thread and i definetley agree with summer this is the friendliest thread!!

shirlie i admire how positive you are. Im sure it wont be long till you get a big sticky BFP xx

MAF yeah i had the trigger shot last night at 9.30 and they are doing iui about 11.30 tomorrow woo hoo!! Im still getting a few stitches today which i usually do before ovulation but they arent as bad as yesterday so am panickiing incase i have already ovulated??!!!!!

Dawn mmmmmm your meal was making my mouth water . No the nurse didnt show me what angle to put it in.

It was so funny i was stood there with my knickers on , and it was a thong not a sexy one just a cotton thong from asda so not looking the best ha ha and i couldnt get all the liquid into the syringe so i had to phone my sister who came straight round , she was laughing at my unsexy knickers and my big fat bum , i was completely stressed and serious and then she had to practically wrestle me to the bed and then jabbed it in my leg!! I screamed being the drama queen that I am!! I swear she got some pleasure out of it ha ha!! DP was just stood there laughing!! So any advice on angle of needle would be much appreciated for next time xx

BIG hello to everyone ive missed xx

shirleyc · 01/04/2009 08:01

morning ladies how is everyone doing today?
Dawn do you mind if i send you a private message need a spot of advice and didnt wanna put it on the forum/thread. Thanks!

DawnAS · 01/04/2009 08:47

Of course Shirleyc, can you see my email address on my profile? If not, come back to me and I'll send it to you straight away!!

Bit of a bittersweet day for me today. Happy because it's Jelly's 30 week "pre-birthday", but sad because it's the day that our first baby would have been born...

DH hasn't mentioned it this morning (but he did leave for work at 5.30am...), but we both know that our Angel baby is looking down and wishing Jelly well.

So a bit / today...

xxx

shirleyc · 01/04/2009 09:15

aww Dawn, well at least your little bean will be with you soon, sure the time will fly by. Its nice that your acknowledging the day you will be in my thoughts

I had a slight blip last night nothing major went to meeting at work and one of the girls starts her maternity leave today, due in 3/4 weeks. She knew what i have been going through, soon as she saw me said 'have you retested???' I said no not planning on either, then bless she tried encouraging me it could have been twins and maybe i had just lost 1, so had to convince her im sure its all over. Then they presented her with baby gifts etc it was lovely but i felt quite awkward. Its not her fault though and i am genuinly happy for her, just couldn't help feeling a slight pang of jealousy. she got some lovely pressies though!

I'll ask you on here rather that pm, about sex after miscarriage, is it ok to have it so soon? I've stopped bleeding now and this morning dh and i wanted to, but we werent sure... It's almost like i feel bad that im moving on so soon. I dont feel upset i feel fine, we want to start trying again this month...... I certainly feel ready?

summerbird · 01/04/2009 09:17

oh dawn i cant believe that has come around so quickly, i hope you are ok today, your little angel has protected jelly this far and always will

huge hugs from me xx

OP posts:
DawnAS · 01/04/2009 09:31

Thanks Shirley and Summer,

Jelly's definitely trying to cheer me up today as she's been wriggling and kicking for the last half an hour, bless her!!

Shirley, it is ABSOLUTELY FINE hun, in fact with an early MC, they say that it's only the emotional side that's an issue and you've pretty much got to grips with that one, like I did. You will have the occasional blip, like yesterday and you may well be nervous when you first get your BFP, but you will be fine. I really do think that it's just your body preparing for the real thing when it happens that early. Mine was at 5-6 weeks, so when I got to 6 weeks with Jelly, I started to relax a little. Although you won't properly relax until you hit 12 weeks and see your little one on the screen. I would say though that DH and I didn't really talk too much about Jelly initially, he didn't want to jinx it, so we just carried on day to day activities without talking about it.

One of the PG ladies on here had a MC and so paid for an early scan at, I think it was 9 weeks. It cost her £100 but was worth it for extra peace of mind. That's always an option. Anyway, I'm running away with myself again... Let's get you that BFP first - so back on the horse lady and go for it!!

I'm wishing you all the luck in the world on this one, but I don't think you'll need it. Remember, the first 3 months after an MC are the most fertile...

xxx

DawnAS · 01/04/2009 09:33

Obviously I meant that she paid for an early scan with her next PG after her MC - - must learn to read before posting!!

xxx

shirleyc · 01/04/2009 10:44

lol Dawn i knew what you meant thanks for the info, i always thought it was rumour that your most fertile afterwards but heard it so much that it must be true

I am adamant this month i wont be doing early testing and all that malarky, even symptom spotting leaving it all up to 'Mrs Fate' but i will enjoy reading about other mners symptoms

Hope your having a lovely day!

PistachioLemon · 01/04/2009 11:22

Morning Ladies, I've been faffing about all day so far so thought I'd pop in to say hello.

Shirley I heard that too about being super fertile after MC. That's what the doc told my sister and I've heard loads of other people say it too. If you're both feeling ok about it then go for it .

Dawn so exciting about Braxton Hicks and 30 weeks, but sorry that it is the due date for the first baby. Good job Jelly is kicking about and cheering you up. How are your bloods doing? Have they settled down after your meal (which sounded delicious by the way).

Hello too to everyone else, Maf, Vix, Crunchynutter, Fairy, VAM and Summer and to everyone I've missed off [waves]!

So I thought I'd do something useful today and update the table... I'm not sure if it is right though? I hope I haven't messed it up too badly...

yes Pistachio cd6 is about right, maybe more 7 though. lets say CD6 lol!

DawnAS · 01/04/2009 11:55

Hey Pistachio,

Bloods are doing Ok now thank you. I think my highest yesterday (after my evening meal) was 6. But week on week they will continue to get higher now so they may start suggesting that I have some insulin before each meal. That could be a bit of a pain as I'll run out of space on my legs to inject, but hey ho, at least I've got the hang of it now and it doesn't hurt!

Thanks for updating the stats, should probably add my MC to it though so here they are again!!

Vix67 · 01/04/2009 15:45

Hi everyone

dawn hope ur ok hun, must be a weird day for you xx

shirley liking your new easter name ha ha

pistachio thanks for updating the list, needed to change mine slightly so i'll reattach it xx

Well ive been for my first ever IUI today!! It wasnt very painful at all, which Ive read somewhere if it goes in quite easily this could be your most fertile as the cervix is open and waiting for the tadpoles!!So Im taking it easy for the rest of the day and trying to keep my legs in the air ha ha
xx

iateallthecreameggsyummy · 01/04/2009 16:05

ooh vix good luck!! i must admit i dont know much about iui, so i shall google it but im assuming if your keeping your legs in the air its something to to with insemination good luck though

iateallthecreameggsyummy · 01/04/2009 16:08

ooh i googled it wow sounds interesting!

crunchynutter · 01/04/2009 18:05

Hi! it's nice to be back! i missed you ladies!

Dawn the diabetes sounds awful but hopefully you will return to normal soon after jelly's here ? I did a lesson the other day where my year 7s had to write poems as a bar of chocolate to tempt somebody- i forgot one of my boys is quite seriously diabetic and doesn't get to have hardly any! He was fine about it though and we had a good chat!

Vix I haven't tested but i'm starting to wonder if I should... i've not had the cramps i usually get either- well thats a bit of a lie, i had stomach pains yesterday and felt a bit sickly so presumeed I would come on today but as soon as I ate something it stopped I seem to be eating more than usual LOL! last time i tested though I was really upset when i got a BFN and I came on the next day so haven't thought about doing that again to be honest!

I think i'm on day 33... Do you think I should wait until Saturday? that would be day 36 wouldn't it? it is all very confusing!
I have avoided all symptom spotting though as i was driving myself mad! could I just ask all you pg ladies though? were any of you excessively tired early on? I keep falling asleep and cant stay focused on anything!

DawnAS · 01/04/2009 19:18

Oooh Crunchy, one of my first symptoms was definitely tiredness!! Didn't last too long, just the first couple of weeks, but I had to have a doze in the afternoons.... Oooh I don't know how you haven't tested already!! Although you know how you coped last time so if you're not ready to, then wait as long as you need to...

Just out of interest, how long is your usual cycle? If you think you are "late" maybe you should get a test and see what happens. Definitely the way I got my nausea aswell, felt sick until I ate. That was the only way I could stop mine!!

Vix, it hasn't been too bad today as Jelly has been very active so she's kept me smiling all day. She's a bit quieter now though, about time she had a sleep!! Well done you for your IUI!! You brave girl you!!

xxx

summerbird · 01/04/2009 23:24

oooo crunchy [summerbird trying not to get excited and staying objective]

ok so my symptoms were pretty non existent in the first couple of days but then i got the sore boobs, and excessive tiredness within about a week. the nausea came a couple of weeks later but i did have a ravenous hunger pretty much straight away.

i never actually got full on sickness but maybe that is because as soon as i felt nauseous i ate something which made me feel better.

as dawn has said depending on your cycles - if you think you are late then go ahead and test!

[whispers] good luck
