Morning all,

Fairy, it's so good to hear from you darling. How are you doing?

Shirley, I hope this is your month sweet, but if not, maybe you should try temping? I was determined not to go down that route, but using Fertility Friend Online and buying a basal thermometer, we pinpointed the exact day that we were due to ovulate and conceived the first month of doing it, 6 weeks after my previous MC. Ebay sell the thermometers and Fertility Friend is free for the first three months I think...

Summer, would you believe it, I finished off all my strips for my blood-testing machine last night, went to open the new ones this morning and the hospital have given me ones that are not only the wrong ones for the machine that I've got, but also a year passed the expiry date!! So now I'm waiting for the hospital to phone to tell me where I can get them from - this is a joke isn't it?!!

Wildfig, sorry that you had a bad day yesterday hun. At least it's over now, by next Mother's Day hopefully you'll be getting the huge bunch of flowers and the lovely card!! Are you going to go and see your GP to find out what's going on?

shirleyc · 23/03/2009 10:38

Heya Dawn thanks for the advic e as for temping i think i wont consider doing that till we've been ttc for 3 months. It might be a bit too much pressure on dh and myself. but thanks for the suggestions i certainly will look into temping as i dont know much about it.

PistachioLemon · 23/03/2009 10:48

Hi Ladies, can I join your thread too? We're ttc#1 and I'm on cycle #4, CD11.

heverhoney1 · 23/03/2009 11:29

Oh its so lovely to be getting some newbies on here and a HUUUUGGGEEEE welcome back fairy you were missed xxxxxx

Sorry to hear about your GD Dawn I have read a bit into it and there is very little evidence to suggest it is anything to do with lifestyle, weight etc - Just think you are in very good company Angelina Jolie had it too.

As for testing etc I did everything you possibly could- Temped, Ov sticks, monitoring CM - All of which said we had done everything wrong and had missed our fertile period yet here I am at 34 weeks with a mahusive kicking bump!!!!

DawnAS · 23/03/2009 11:29

Hi Pistachio and welcome!! It's lovely to have some new TTCers on here as Summerbird said yesterday!!

So what length are your cycles, are you nearing the 2ww?

Anyway, off to the hospital again ladies (sick of the sight of the place to be honest...), so I'll catch up with you all later.

DawnAS · 23/03/2009 12:10

Gosh Hever, 34 weeks!!! Is everything Ok as far as you know? Baby not breech (like Jelly )?

Well, I think you're going to be our first baby on this thread!! I can't believe I started this thread back in June last year and we're about to have our first success story!! How fab!!

I think a virtual baby-shower is required...

When do you think we should have it?!!

heverhoney1 · 23/03/2009 14:09

I think Flirty is due before me but I have never been one to turn down a party

All seems to be ok with us, low iron and I am suffering with back ache (at the top of my back so thats a bit strange) which is putting pay to proper sleep and 1 weirdly dodgy ankle but I figure if thats all I can moan about I am doing ok.

Bub still remains nameless which is stating to stress me out a bit and I am desperatly trying to write a dissertation before she arrives with little joy as my attention span is less than none!!

I am told she is head down but I am struggling to believe this as she moves about quite a lot (DP saw a full body wriggle through my belly a few nights ago and he actually ran away lol)

Apart from the GD how are you feeling? When do you start maternity leave?

laurielou · 23/03/2009 14:11

Hello all, mind if I join in? First time ttc, feels like cycle 4900!

PistachioLemon · 23/03/2009 14:50

Thanks Ladies.

And Hi to LaurieLou - I'm new as well!

DawnAS · 23/03/2009 21:15

Just popping on to say Welcome to Laurielou!!

Hope you've all had a good day. Finally got my new needles from the hospital but they're still bruising my fingers. I am going to need to start the Insulin on Thursday when I go to the Diabetic Clinic and have to continue testing my blood four times a day until Jelly is born!! How am I going to type with every bloody finger bruised??!!

Anyway, off to wait for DH to phone now from Barcelona...

Catch up with all you ladies tomorrow when I'll have more time to catch up with everyone...

shirleyc · 24/03/2009 08:00

Morning how is everyone today? Hope your all good.

DawnAS · 24/03/2009 09:21

Morning Shirleyc,

How are things with you? Not much happening here. Got a quiet day today after a hectic one yesterday so looking forward to that.

I've got this week off to chill out while DH is away so today is ironing and cleaning the house at my own pace - lovely!!

xxx

shirleyc · 24/03/2009 09:38

morning Dawn all good thanks bad start to the day but thats another story
af due tommorrow or there abouts boobs felt normal this morning but now feeling slightly sensitive so prob af on way. Lets fingers crossed and hope not.

Ooh peace and quiet sounds good! I m lazing on the sofa doing nothing till i go to work this afternoon. Housework can wait till tommorrow when i have a day of.

DawnAS · 24/03/2009 09:54

Shirleyc,

Sorry that you had a bad morning hun... hope your day gets better.

My symptoms were opposite to yours, I NEVER got sore (.)(.)s with AF, so knew there was something a bit different when I DID get them!!

So, are you tempted to test yet then? Or are you waiting until AF should definitely have arrived?

DH and I got married in April last year and that's when I decided to come off the pill. At 34, I knew time was against me so I wanted to start trying. DH is 32 and wasn't sure that he wanted to try straight away. But by June I managed to turn him around. We took advice from one of my best-friends on what to do in relation to cycle and everything else and couldn't believe it when we fell PG straight away - it was amazing. We were sooooo lucky. But unfortunately, at 5 weeks I had a MC.

But as soon as the bleeding stopped, we decided to try again. 6 weeks later, I was PG again. And here we are now at 29 weeks (tomorrow). So for some people, it does happen quickly. For others it takes a lot longer. We were just very lucky and I'm constantly grateful for it...

Anyway, that's enough waffle!!

xxx

laurielou · 24/03/2009 09:58

Morning all, thanks for the welcome. AF just gone so here we go for another month.

Think I'd rather be at my desk pretending to work than doing housework - rubbish!

Whatever you're up to, have a good day.

shirleyc · 24/03/2009 10:00

Wow Dawn what a lovely post and no waffle at all its nice to hear about other people!

Not long to go for you now till you have your little one!

As for testing am i tempted well...... yes i am but i let myself down by testing twice in the last week latest was Sunday and i have 2 tests left in the bathroom. I'm not going to test till the 28th at the earliest because im not sure of cycle. Yes i do def feel sick on and off throughout the day, boobs do feel like there doing something, indigestion yesterday, coffee tastes different and all the other symptoms i've spotted but.......... still in the back of my mind im thinking af is coming...

So as im not 100% certain of cycle length im gonna continue seeing how i feel.

PistachioLemon · 24/03/2009 10:08

Morning Ladies, how are you all doing today?

Dawn, I'm nearing OV I think, and then the dreaded 2ww. I'm determined not to test early any more so there will be lots of obsessive symptom spotting instead I think! Hopefully some of this thread's luck will rub off on me and it'll be a BFP month

How are you doing today? Sorry to hear about the diabetes and forced separation from chocolate and all things sweet. Still not long to go now and you're definitely in good company with Angelina Jolie and the lke. Oh, and my dad had diabetes and he said that your fingers get used to the testing after a while, so hopefully yours will toughen up and you'll stop getting bruises. Don't want you to have to give up typing!

Hever I think we should definitely have a virtual baby shower for you and bubs.

Fairy good luck with the 2ww, sending lots of sticky baby dust your way.

heverhoney1 · 24/03/2009 13:33

Oh a party I think the last party we had on here was for MAF's wedding and that was a pink champagne swilling disco dancing affair

Dawn virtual alcohol and chocs are still allowed so will have to consume much!! I am only a few weeks ahead of you so do you want a joint do??

DawnAS · 24/03/2009 15:56

Hello all,

Hever, well, Summerbird is due the week before me so maybe all three of us will have a party - that'll be a big bash!! I'm already thinking up wacky virtual presents for you both - and obviously party food too!! Why don't we make the party-food 70s and 80s theme, like our childrens parties that we would have gone to in our party-dresses?!!

Pistachio, the more obsessive the symptom spotting the better!! I've definitely seen some odd ones on MN in the last 9 months!! Thanks for the info on your Dad. I do have very delicate skin but I'm hoping the fingers will improve... A bit worried about my legs though. They're suggesting that I might need those injections four times a day aswell!! I bruise like a peach so that's going to look lovely!!

Shirley, be strong honey!! We'll try and keep your mind off testing (what a load of balls, I was determined not to test this time around and ended up testing on DPO10!!!!!), but anyway, restrain as long as you can!! Sounds like your symptoms are promising though!!

Laurielou, so do you know when you normally ovulate - how exciting - enjoy yourself up until the two week wait!! Your DP/DH is in for a good couple of weeks!!

Girls, this story will make you laugh. My DH is away at the moment on a course in Barcelona and as I'm getting big, I do struggle to take the dog out (Tilly) twice a day without some help so Mum is coming over once a day to come out with me. Well today we decided to go through the woods and it was quite muddy. Well, there was a big muddy area and Mum got her trainer stuck and it came off so she had to put her socked foot down in the mud to get her balance. Then as she leant back to pull the trainer out, it was really hard to pull. When it finally released, it made her lose her balance and she landed in the mud on her arse!!! We both laughed until we cried and Tilly thought it was a game and jumped on her (she's a labrador - so not a small dog!!).

What a laugh!!

Anyway, enough of this frivolity - it's time for me to start thinking about doing some house-work and ironing - yuck!!
