Good afternoon ladies

I've had to be out of the house all day with DS and DP's little sister as DP and his parents are fixing up the place (at last)
So we walked to Wimbledon to the bank then got on the tram to Ikea and got the kids and myself some delicious fish n chips (very good btw)

Now we're back and exhausted! DS and little sis in law (to be) have found the art box and are painting away happily

I'm babysitting tonight in Earlsfield, 8pm-1am, it's gonna be a struggle to keep my eyes open!

How is everyone? So pleased for Sam One down, loads to go! Oh I hope I have a short labour and relatively small baby like her. I can't cope with another 10 pounder.

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 05/10/2008 07:54

Well the sh*t has well and truely hit the fane here. Mollie's friend came over for tea on Thurs. She managed to poo in her pants (aged 6.5 ) and then Libby pooed in her pants. . Am getting rather fed up of fishing poo out of pants. Anyone got any advice? Libs been potty trained since June. She was great. But for last 6 weeks, poos have been in pants, not in potty/loo. Been on potty training thread and no real advice apart from bribery (which we do) and ignoring (which we do). Picked Libs up from nursery n Fri. She's been clean all day. 15 mins after being with me and she'd pooed in her pants. Not even bothered to call out that she needed a poo. Had asked her. Gone downstairs and hey presto, poo in pants 10 mins later. Grrrrrrr.

Building work complete stress out. They were supposed to pour concrete for basement on wed/thurs this week. Went on site. Nothing had happended. Called builder. Left meassage. No answer. Called and texted again on Fri. No answer. Finally found out thru architect that concrete now being poured next week. Weather supposed to be be pants. They need 24 hours dry weather for concrete to set. Am really fed up with them. Brewing up for big argument when I call them tomorrow.

Libs got horrible chest infection. The antibiotics she's on are making her loopy. She goes hyper when she's had a dose. She's not sleeping. Throwing whopping great tantrums. Over tired. Medicine should be finished tom. Hopefully she'll go back to normal.

DH looks like the walking dead. So tired. He's been working his guts out because of all the stuff going on in The City. Am trying to make things as easy as possible for him at home. But that means I'm getting a little tired now as Libs getting me up 2 times a night. Plus the dog is clattering around on the kitchen floor at night too and keeping me awake.

But at least I've still got my sense of humour . And I've found a great new accupuncturist that specialises in increasing fertility. I'm really hoping that by Christmas, with his help, I might be pregnant.

Anyway. That's what's going on in deepest darkest Wimbledon. And my guilty pleasure, The Hills on MTV, is back on tonight. Ahem!

Love to everyone. Will write a less 'me me me' post later. Just had to get this out of my system. Hope eveyone has a great Sunday. xxxxxxxx

Hello lovely ladies,

I haven't fallen off the face of the earth (yet...) but I have been very busy. STILL haven't had a chance to catch up - sorry!!

Am taking DD swimming this morning and then dashing off to the hospital before taking her a birthday party.

My friend's dad isn't in a critical condition anymore but he's still very weak and needs to be taught how to take care of himself again - it's going to be a tricky few weeks. My mate works in the city and obviously needs to be there with all that's going on at the moment so I guess I'll have to take care of his dad during the week even though I have a load of other stuff I need to do. Ah well!

Lots of love to all xxxx

Emmsy1 · 05/10/2008 21:24

just had to post tonight as so bloody angry Brother rang me tonight to ask me for a lift home from Derbyshire on Thursday, told him I wasn't up to driving and that my iron and platelets were low. Also told him that he would have to find another way to get homke, he said well thats just it, he can't find another way! I put the phone down on him, thought it was best that ending up arguing with him. Just so upset that he didn't take it on board a few weeks ago when I decided that I wasn't doing the pickups for a good while. It just goes to show that deep down there is no concern about me, some of the boys in our family just use you and drain you to where you just can't take it anymore, it's bad enough paying financially for other peoples cock-ups but this takes the biscuit! Just let my mother dare have a go at me over this and that will be the end of any relationship that we have! Aaaaaarrrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhhhh Feel much better now, sorry girls just really pi**ed off at being taken for a fool.

EisAHandbagaHolic · 06/10/2008 09:16

emmsy so sorry you have had more problems with your family!!n they sound so selfish!! how dare he ask you at this point- regardless of your iron levels etc, you are just about ready to have a baby!! what if something happened??!! you could go into labour during the journey!! do they just not realise?? or are they so self absorbed they havent even noticed you are heavily preg??!! i am so annoyed on your behalf hun xx take care and stand your ground!!!
xx ei xx

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 06/10/2008 13:31

Emmsy Stand your ground love. You are prefectly within your rights to tell them to bugger off. As Ei said, you could go into labour in the car and that would be too dangerous to even contemplate. I'd turn your phone off, put your fingers in your ears and go lalalalalalalalalla.

Ei Libs been potty trained since June. Was doing wonderfully. Same as your DD. Just has a pull up on at night. She's 2.9. Think she's doing it for attention. She's also tunred into devil child and is being stroppy, defiant and bloody minded to the max at the moment. Am chanting to myself, 'its just a phase, it's just a phase'. Thank god I'm not pg. Don't think I could handle another at the moment!

It's all rather quiet on here at the moment. Where is everyone?

mibbes · 06/10/2008 13:50

Emmsy tell them to bugger off and leave you in peace, for goodness sake you need to be resting as much as possible, not stressing about inconsiderate family member's demands.Big hugs xx

Sparkly you are so lovely helping your friend's dad out but remember to look after yourself hun xx

Oh dear these stories of fishing out poo are a bit scary ! We had to practise nappy changing at NCT class yesterday and when I opened up my 'baby's' nappy it was full of meconium (marmite !) and I nearly had an accident in my own pants !! I so wasn't expecting to see that !!!! Even the photos of dirty nappies made me feel queasy, not sure how I'm going to cope with the real thing !

NOAM I am having a surprise early Dec, PG has been fine apart from 2 small bleeds which have been nothing serious. Baby is transverse though so seeking all tips for moving baby into the head down position - am almost 32 weeks now, so not long !

Hurray for sambrads lovely news

kate2179 · 06/10/2008 14:45

Hello lovely ladies! Why has it gone so quiet in here? I don't like it!! A sure sign people are working too hard

All ok here. Been feeling a bit down since friday, partly because my skin is DREADFUL atm. Feel so about it... I know it's ridiculous, but I can hardly even look my DH in the eye without make-up atm, let alone anyone else.... And (TMI) looking, or at least feeling, like a swamp donkey is doing nothing for our sex life... Poor man...

Acupuncture on wednesday, so hoping that will help on every level... it better had anyway!

Spent all day yesterday looking for a car we cannot afford with my lovely sister. DH's ancient volvo is finally on its last legs. We need to get rid of it before the tax and MOT run out. So we have been looking at 8-9 year old Golfs. I think it is def the right thing to do, but am feeling slightly daunted about having to put it on a credit card... At least I've got 0% til April so it gives us some breathing space anyway.

The good news (though I am quite scared for him) is that DH got a place for the London Marathon next year! Not a charity place, so he was incredibly lucky to get it He wants to run for the Miscarriage Association so I'm going to call them in a minute to check that's ok. The local paper will def run a story on him, and one way and another I think he'll be able to raise quite a bit of money I was wondering whether I'll be allowed to start a thread on here telling people about it and giving them his justgiving webite address. What do you reckon? Wouldn't put any pressue on anyone obviously, but would just like to say who we are, what DH is doing and why and post a link to the justgiving page. Hope they'll let me!

TONS of work to catch up on, but:

for Emmsy - your family are unbelievable! They just don't seem to have a clue how much you already have to cope with As the others said, stand firm, and we're all here for you

for Georgie at ALL THAT POO!!!! Grim! I reckon a puppy will be bad enough!

for Mibbes at 32 weeks

for Ei - hope you managed a lazy sunday. How's your course going now?

And to everyone else . Still thinking of you Mollie, hope you're ok? xx

cricri · 06/10/2008 20:20

Emmsy So sorry you've had yet more problems with your family I can't believe how selfish your brother is As the others have said, you should be resting as much as you can atm, not driving 100s of miles. Plus the fact that baby could come at any time. Stay firm and tell them all to get lost.
Mibbes There are a couple of sites here and here with useful tips on getting baby to turn. My mw suggested spending lots of times on hands and knees. There was a thread on here under pregnancy a couple of weeks ago and various people said that baby could turn right up to the last minute so don't despair.
Georgie Sorry to hear about all the poo!
Kate Sorry you're feeling down. Appearance is very important so it does have a big impact on your mood (it does for me anyway!) Hopefully the acupuncture will help. Great news that your DH will be running the marathon! I'll definitely sponsor him so let me know once your Justgiving page is up and running. Hope you get the go-ahead from MN too. Has DH started his training yet? I admire anybody who runs a marathon - I couldn't do it, can't stand running!
Everything fine here - went to see Lee Evans last night at the O2 which was fab. DH was worried all the laughing might trigger labour but fortunately it didn't. Seats were most uncomfortable for pg ladies though - glad I'd taken along my wedge cushion to sit on I'm paying for the late night today though, I'm off to bed in a minute!
Hi to everybody else

SparklyPseudonym · 06/10/2008 22:06

Hello ladies,

I got a reply from Tony Parsons on livechat - I haven't abandoned you girls but he is my fave author and I couldn't resist popping in there...

Look what he said:

DEAR SPARKLYPSEUDONYM - THANK YOU FOR BEING MY READER AND FOR YOUR QUESTION - WHOOPS, CAPS AGAIN. Sorry I disapponted you with the book set in 1977 - Stories we Could Tell - i know (from the sales) that i disappointed a lot of people with that book. But I guess that happens sometimes - and it was a good slap i n the face. It made me realize that nothing is guaranteed or carved in stone and success has to be earned every time out. But I believed in the story - and wanted to write about that time - and i liked the book - and so did 3 other people. But listen SParklyPseudonym - THNANKS FOR STICKING WITH ME AND FOR GIVING THE NEW ONE , MY FAVOURITE WIFE, A GO. I let you down but you still read the new one - I will try my best never to let you down again. Someone asked me if I wrote wqith a reader in mind - this is that reader. I know she is on my side but I also know that I always ALWAYS run the risk of losing her. AND I DON'T WANT TO LOSE HER. THANKS FOR YOUR QUESTION SPARKLYPSUEDONYM. And goodnight and sleep well and sweet dreams, and may your life be full of luck and love and all the things you wish for yourself. TONY XXXOOO

I AM SOOO PLEASED - HOW SAD IS MY LIFE?!

hi to everyone else i hope youn are all doing well this lovely monday night

kate2179 · 07/10/2008 09:57

Sparkly that's fantastic! I love his reply, and I love the fact that even though he's a best selling author it seems he can barely type!

Well done on the salsa Ei, I look forward to seeing some footage of it in a few weeks!

Mibbes have you posted any recent bump pics anywhere? Nothing if not nosey, me!

Cricri so glad all is going well for you guys

No sign of Georgie yet, do you think she's finally drowned under a mountain of poo??

Haven't 'seen' Teehee or Scully around for a while, anyone heard from them? Hope you're ok ladies, if you're out there lurking

Just heard back from the mc association on DH's marathon and we have the all clear from mn as well, so watch this space! I think we'll do really well. Am quite excited about it. He spoke to one of the local magazines yesterday who have said they'll cover him. REALLY hope I'm pg by april though... Either way, there won't be any photos of me in the paper, that's for sure

kate2179 · 07/10/2008 09:59

PS to any of you who have had thrombophilia testing, how long did you have to wait for the results?? Mine were 8 weeks ago today and I'm BORED of waiting! Think I'm going to give them another 2 weeks before I call as the smear results are meant to take 6-8 weeks and that was 'only' 4 weeks ago... What do you reckon?

EisAHandbagaHolic · 07/10/2008 10:47

hi ladies
kate great news your dh has had the go ahead for the marathon from mca etc
i had my results by the time i had my appointment which was 3 weeks later so i think it just depends on the trust taking care of you i hope you get your results soon- maybe call the hospital as you should have had the results by now at least i think
hi to everyone else

FruitynNutty · 07/10/2008 13:52

Hi everyone,
I haven't read through the posts but I just wanted to pop my head in to say hi. We've got DP's parents and little sis over from Spain and little sis keeps robbing my laptop

Can't complain because they only arrived on Thursday eve and they've already painted the hall, kitchen and living room, put coving in hall and living room and painted the woodwork DP's dad is going to put down a laminate floor for the hall and living room as soon as we get it It actually looks like a home now!

I hope you're all ok. Especially Mollie and Sparkly {{{{big hugs to you girls}}}}

FruitynNutty · 07/10/2008 13:54

Oh and I've let Phoebe out on her own!!!! She's 6 months today so I thought it was about time I cut the apron strings. She keeps coming back though, can't get rid of her!

piper84 · 07/10/2008 14:12

Hi ladies,

Sorry i havent been on here lately,

A friend of mine has a 3yr old special needs daughter, she recently discovered her
asshole other half has been cheating on her for over a year so have been spending a lot of time with her,

fruity was wondering what methods you were using for the pcos, another friend of mine has been recently dignosed with it , thanks xxx

Will catch up properly later

Love to all you lovely ladies xxx

FruitynNutty · 07/10/2008 14:38

I wasn't really using any other methods Piper You can't really use any methods with PCOS. My only "method" I used was getting so bored with taking my temperature everyday and not even getting an AF that I gave up temping for a week. This is when I ovulated. Unfortunately women with PCOS can't use ov sticks as they get the LH surge throughout their cycle. Also temping isn't supposed to be very effective because of all the peaks and troughs you get, it's also very boring as nothing seems to happen.

The only thing your friend can do is to be referred to a specialist who will hopefully prescribe her Clomid or Metformin. Is she overweight? I've heard Metformin is very good for bringing the weight down thus helping to conceive. Also I've also heard that the procedure I had done where they inject dye through the tubes (I think it's an HGC test) can be effective as it can clear any minor blockages. I conceived in the cycle following this. Might have just been a coincidence but it's not unknown.
It is a devastating blow when you discover you have PCOS but your friend must realise that at least she knows what's wrong and it can more than likely be treated (not cured).

I've heard MC is far more likely with PCOS (this has not so far affected me). However, I've read you can be prescribed progesterone to help hang on to the pregnancy during the early weeks when the placenta is not yet doing the work.

It is heartbreaking and seems impossible to be able to conceive naturally especially if you hardly ever ovulate but it is possible. I have a healthy 3 year old boy and so far a healthy pregnancy.

How long has your friend been TTC for?

SparklyPseudonym · 07/10/2008 16:20

WE HAVE OUR FIRST BABY LADIES...

EMMSY GAVE BIRTH TO A BEAUTIFUL BABY GIRL THIS MORNING. She has named her Amy Louise and she weighed in at 5lb 12oz. Emmsy is very tired and will be staying in for 48 hours.

Welcome to the world Amy . xxxxxx

OP posts:
FruitynNutty · 07/10/2008 16:54

Hooray For Emmsy and her new little girl
I hope it all went as well as could be
Congratulations Emmsy and welcome to the world Amy Louise. Ah, we have the same middle name

FruitynNutty · 07/10/2008 16:55

Looking forward to seeing the pics BTW

I don't wanna hear all those rubbish "I'm too tired" excuses, get those photos on your profile Emmsy!

MollieMooma · 07/10/2008 18:28

First things first congratulations Emmsy fantastic news, and welcome to little Amy Louise, so very very pleased for you and your immediate family Let's hope the other part of your family leave you alone for a bit now
No pressure now CriCri but your next
Georgie Hope things are sorted with the builders and that Libs is feeling better? I really feel for your DH, he must be worried sick at the moment. Here's hoping your accupuncturist can live up to expectations, expecting a BFP from you next
Mibbes Lol at you and the nappies I'm sure you'll just get on with it when it's yours. I know I was amazed by the ones that look like chicken khorma
Kate Fab news about your DH's marathon place, I will definately sponser too, so let us all know when you can. Have you found a car yet? We've got to start looking for one soon, I'm hoping I can find a garage that takes magic beans for payment I think you should start chasing for your results, you need to be a pain in the arse to get anywhere in this world!
Sparkly Please don't tell me that when you get pg next, you won't consider Tony for a boys name after your little chat?
EI How are you hun? Apart from a little sore and stiff, sounds like you're having fun at Salsa
Scully & TeeHee Hope you are both OK?
Fruity Thanks for my hug, glad to hear Pheobe is enjoying her freedom, and nice to know she's returning to you, bless. How are you feeling, done any more wedding planning?
Piper Lovely to "see" you, how are the wedding plans coming along? Not long now, what a b*stard your friends DP is, some men are shits
Right I think I have caught up with everyone, apologies if I've missed anyone.
I haven't been on for a few days as I just felt and still feel so confused and muddled at the moment. Went back to work yesterday and unfortnately it's very stressful at the moment, loads of people off sick and next week I have to start 4 new jobs, but I suppose it will keep me distracted! I'm really not sure what is going on with my body at the moment, I am still waiting for AF, the hospital tried to say that my AF was the spotting I had, but that was nothing like one, it has been 7 wks since ERPC, and now it looks like I'm OVing, I have faint lines on my OPK's and EWCM? Also I did a pg test on Saturday (don't worry I'm not going crazy, well not just yet) I just wanted to see if it came up -ve, but it came up with a faint +ve?? I know I'm not pg but what on earth is going on? I've booked to see my GP next Tuesday to talk to her, and I've had my next consultants appt for 9th Dec and I will not be fobbed off this time!
So that's my life at the moment, oh and DH seems determined to get me up the duff again even though we talked about not TTC til after consultants appt, he napalmed me last night stating "Come on babe fourth time lucky, I want a baby"
Think I might have to put him on rations

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 07/10/2008 20:55

Emmsy Yippppeeeeeee. What wonderful news. Am so happy for you. And welcome to the world Amy. Big kisses from all your aunties in MN. Now girls, form an orderly line for a cuddle . For the love of god Emmsy, please take some time off and tell your family to bugger off for a while.

Mollie Lovely lovely lovely to hear from you. Was getting worried. And bless your DH for stepping up to the plate . Think you might still be getting a faint +ve because you've still got some hormones flying about. Might be wrong though? Whatever happens, at least you've got your appt and you're going to go in all guns blazing!

Fruity Hello love. Long time no see. Can you send your in laws my way please. They sound much better than my builder. Grrrrrr.

Piper What a sod your friend's bloke is. Deserves to have his balls chopped off and made into her earrings.

Kate Snap. Have also got a chin full of spots. Really bored of them now. Spots and wrinkles are not a good look. Have you tried Freederm? Hope the accupuncture helps us both out. And sorry, can't give you any help re: tests and timings for results. Looks like we might be ttc together as my accupuncture bloke thinks he should have me sorted by Dec. And count me in for sponsoring your DH.

Ei You are our resident dancing queen .

TeeHee Where are you? All ok?

Scully What's the news from down under?

Still knee deep in poo here!
