Here we go again . Let the good news flow....

OP posts:
cricri · 26/09/2008 14:17

I did wonder if it might be Mollie... So pleased for you Mollie, congratulations Twilightsurfer from MC Avengers last year and Knickercheckers also got a BFP 17 days after a mc and she went on to have a successful pg and her baby was born a few weeks ago so it does happen You've definitely got the right attitude but fingers crossed all will be well this time. Have you contacted the consultant you're seeing next week or are you going to wait until your appointment?
Fruity That child sounds like a nightmare -I don't envy you that at all! Is he OK at home or does he refuse to sleep there as well? At least you'll only have to deal with him one day a week from next week. Did you find anything on Figleaves btw
Sparkly Hope your cat is OK and the vet can sort her out. Meant to ask you last night - do you or DP speak Welsh to DD?
Hi to everyone else

MollieMooma · 26/09/2008 14:38

Fruity Shame about the car, I think ending in the evening is better, did you have a reserve on it? Good job the LO is cute sort of makes up for it, at least one day a week won't be too bad, does he sleep in the day for your BF? I'm feeling fine thanks, bit shocked, but OK probably far too early to be telling anyone or feeling symptoms, but who cares!
CriCri I was on the AN August thread with Twilight so knew what a sucess story she was, it makes me feel all warm inside
Have you and Mibbes posted nursery pics yet?

SparklyPseudonym · 26/09/2008 14:49

Afternoon ladies,
Sorry for the mind games - it was Mollie's fault....she made me? .
Mollie It's such a lovely way to start a new thread.
Cricri DD speaks a very limited amount of Welsh i.e. counting to 10, greetings etc. DP is very fluent but doesn't speak a word to her. I am not so good (quite confident but not a huge vocab) but try and speak to her in Welsh where possible. Will you speak to your DD in French?
Fruity Hope the LO is sleeping now. I don't think you have to pay for items that haven't been sold. Hopefully it'll sell v soon.

Am off to pick DD up from nursery. DP is out again tonight at rugby so I think I'll go and visit my sister.

Have a great weekend.

Sparkly I can smell your pants burning from here!!

teeheelaydee · 26/09/2008 18:29

Yeah ! I guessed after some cyptic text from Sparkly today but can't believe she kept it secret 'til today

Mollie Am sooooo over the moon for you! Sending loads of positive thoughts your way. Good positive attitude so far - well done. Share your wobbles with us and we will put you straight - see I knew the jazz hands would work! Now I only have to worry about Kate phoning the social on me!

Kate The mystery of your phone continues! I sent you a msg this am - did you get it?

Scully Happy birthday for yesterday, did you know that the most beautiful and intelligent people are born in September (I made that up but don't tell the others) Oh and my youngest niece would probably pee her pants at the thought of Dora LIVE

Sparkly Love the new thread title - should keep any riff raff out! [shocked] at your friends GP. Mind my friend with PCOS was trying to get clomid and can you believe there is not a consultant in Norfolk who knows enough about it to prescribe it!! Good job she got lucky.

Ei Perhaps you should be EicanpredictthefutureEican

Fruity Shame about your car - we could always put some bids on for you to get things heated up.

Cricri & Mibbes Hope you ladies are looking after those bumps and nesting like mad - remember those pictures.

Georgie Are you still feeling positive and chilled. Hope you are having fun not TTC?

Still nothing exciting going on here am quite looking forward to a quiet weekend, might go spend my birthday book token tomorrow - that's about as interesting as it gets, I'm afraid.

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 26/09/2008 18:38

Hooray hooray hoory for Mollie. Sending you big kisses and a bottle of champagne for your very well deserved BFP. . Lovely news and bloody great start for the new thread. Throw some of that good luck in my direction please!

Scully Ei Sparkly We'd better get our legs in the air pronto. Chuckle .

Scully Please excuse my crap attempt at Austalian-ism. Glad you had a beaut of a day though . OK, that's the last one I promise. Hope Dora is fun tomorrow.

Fruity Hmmmmm, that boy has a spilt personality! Agree that cuteness masks little bugger underneath! Mind you, I'd still have him for a cuddle anytime! oooo, you've got to get into TK Maxx. Went there today and got a Fenn Wright and Mason winter coat reduced from £250 to £39.99. Bargain of the century. Loads of v nice winter coats/cashmere jumpers/handbags.

Kate How was am dram night? Can just see you stifling yawns thru serious thesp's wooden acting! Please tell me that there was at least some alcohol to dull pain?!

I've just booked tickets for Mollie, Libs, me, my 2 friends and their kids to go see High School Musical 3. Am actually very excited about it. Not out til Oct 22nd, but Libs is the BIGGEST fan of Shapay EVER . She's literally going to wet her knickers when we get to the cinema!

DH and I off the Kings Road tommorrow to look at light fixtures. Our friend is coming to look after Libs (Moo with her Dad this w/e) so 3 hours for me and Gav to have some brekkie and saunter round shops. Bliss.

Have a wonderful weekend one and all.

hi ladies
mollie OH MY BLEEDING GOD!!!!!CONGRATS CONGRATS CONGRATS!!! i knew it you know!! im so made up for you if you dont mind me saying i think it might be a good idea to call your consultant unit and let them know and see if they can ask a nurse to check your blood results so you can get anything you need asap. just a thought but my consultant said that the majority of recurrent mmcs are caused by aps and the success rate with treatment is more than 70% but its less than 20% without so its worth making sure whether or not this is your cause like it was for me im feeling really good about your BFP BTW
fruity what a little bugger your mindee is he sounds like how S was when she was little drove me up the wall but shes so gorgeous that i barely mind
i hope everyone is doing well tonight
im starting my OPks tomorrow so wish me luck
xx ei xx

Emmsy1 · 26/09/2008 22:49

Mollie yahooooooooooooooo, what lovely news to sign in on! really over the moon for you, I do suggest you take Ei's advice about contacting your consulting unit, maybe they will keep an eye on you a little better this time, lots of love to you my dear lady, I'm praying that this is a really sticky one xxxxx

I am 36 completed weeks today (36 +1) so will be classed as 'term' next friday can't believe how quickly it seems to have flown, have started to clean house before little one arrives, lots to do but not enough time to do it in. Car seat finally arrived last Saturday so feel a little more relaxed now,am so very excited now and can't wait to meet my beautiful baby, little apprehensive about the labour but I know it's a small price to pay for a wonderful result so hey ho, bring it on!

My children are all off to the echo arena in Liverpool tommorow to see Disney on Ice (finding nemo) they are all so excited, they will probably be up at the crack of dawn, I even managed to get them to do their homework to night without any moans

My little girl came home from school yesterday with a wonderful certificate, there were only 4 children in the school that were awarded it, it was for hard work and doing so well, I felt so proud of her that I 'welled up' her reading and writing is fantastic, she was only 5 at the end of July so she is one of the youngest in the class but is in the top set. My 3 year old son is also doing quite well, I have managed to teach him most of his letters, so have decided today to start him on a variety of small words sparkly any tips would be very much appreciated. Anyway girls have a lovely weekend, I will keep you updated of any progress and if things do happen quickly, I will text sparkly with any news XXX

mibbes · 26/09/2008 23:12

Mollie am soooo happy for you missus HURRAY !!!! Massive congrats on BFP hun xx Like others have said, best contact your consultant to ensure you get the best care possible.

I haven't posted nursery pics yet as DP still building the furniture (it only arrived today) will post pics as soon as it is finished

Emmsy you must be so proud of your little brainboxes ! Will be coming to you for tips in a few years ! I can't BELIEVE you are almost at term - flip, where did the time go !?

First NCT AN class all day tomorrow - DP is dreading it, I just hope they don't scare me with too much birth chat !

to everyone else.

MollieMooma · 27/09/2008 09:21

Emmsy I am really excited for you, so little time til your LO arrives Hope you are still sticking by your guns and telling your ever demanding family to back off. You should be proud of your DDs achievement, sounds like she is doing really well, a reflection of her Mum I am sure Take care hun
EI So when are you going to start your predictions thread then chick? I haven't rng the consultant as I go on Tuesday and already had some blood tests one of which included the APS (I think) which were clear so I'll just see what he says Tuesday. But thank you all for thinking of me.
Mibbes Tell DP we're all waiting so no pressure
Hope everyone else is OK?

kate2179 · 27/09/2008 20:40

Evening ladies

Mollie!!! What can I say? Other than CONGRATULOATIONS BEAUTIFUL!! Fantastic way to start the new thread! And I know you won't want to get ahead of yourself, so I'll just say very quietly what a lovely time May/June is to have a baby and move straight on...! Great that you already have your thrombophilia results, think that's prob one of the most important things to have had checked before this time. You go lady!

Happy Birthday Scully! Sorry I missed it, hope you had a lovely day

Lovely to hear from you Emmsy! Glad to hear your life sounds a little less stressful than it has been, you must be so proud of your kids, that's fantastic! And a great reflection on their wonderful mum!

Mibbes hope the AN class went well, really looking forward to the nursery pics!

High School Musical 3 hey Georgie? You and I really are high brow with our cultural tastes lately aren't we?!? Hope the trip to Christopher Wray went well - bet that's where you went! We have some stunning wall lights in our bathroom from there, well worth the money! The am dram was actually pretty good! It was 42nd St which I hadn't seen before and the standard of singing, dancing and acting was incredible given the fact that they all hold down full time jobs as well. The funniest thing though was the fact that the younger male romantic lead's full time job is as a DRAG QUEEN!!! Hilarious! We saw his picture in the programme before we read about him and I said to DH he looked like a... (very politically incorrect, sorry...) butch lady whose preference is veryt definitaly for other ladies iykwim... and turns out he's a drag queen! So funny! He looked like a slimmer Matt Lucas with more hair, and he was wearing an awful lot of eye make up, (even by my standards!) maybe not your typical romantic lead!?!?

Had a tough few days here. Was Thomas' due date yesterday. Thought I'd be ok but there were a few tears for what might have been/should have been... We had some lovely friends round for dinner last night which was just what we needed. Got through a revolting amount of wine, plus 3 bottles of champagne (felt like we should be celebrating for him) and ended up dancing around like lunatics to Abba til 4 o'clock this morning! We never do that! And we never stay up til 4! Even then the boys stayed up when Jemma and I went to bed. Apparently they finally crwaled up some time after 5... They were not too pretty this morning! DH is currently passed out on the sofa after I made him come for a really long walk this afternoon, nearly killed us both! So now we're all set for an evening of Strictly come Dancing and X Factor. Perfect!

I have a TON of work to do this weekend but the weather's been so lovely we've arranged to borrow a friend's RIB tomorrow for a dash around the solent. Am hoping it'll blow some cobwebs away. I really shouldn't go but it's one of my absolute favourite things to do and we haven't been out at all this "summer" So sod it. Will be in real trouble work wise so I'll probably be after all yoiur support later in the week!

Love to all xxx

kate2179 · 27/09/2008 20:42

PS Teehee I did get your text yesterday, thank you Sorry I didn't reply, was feeling a bit too slit-your-wrists to think of anything worth saying. Doing ok now though I think. In the circumstances anyway. Hope you're having a lovely weekend

scully · 28/09/2008 04:29

Think you remembered Thomas' due date in the best possible way Kate, hope the headaches weren't too bad
Emmsy, we saw Nemo on Ice last year, dd1 loved it
Dora Live was great yesterday, girls both loved it
Loved the legs in the air comment HTGG , would be easier if dh was more motivated Who would have thought it would be that difficult to bd 3 times a week
Anyway whinge over. Last night was out of the question as we had 21 adults and 13 children (incl us) here for a bbq, kicked off at 2pm and we got to bed at 11.45pm, don't feel too bad today suprisingly
Hi to everyone, hope you're all having a great weekend

FruitynNutty · 28/09/2008 08:05

Morning

Kate I agree with Scully you remembered Thomas in the best way. I think he would have loved you to be celebrating

Georgie Did you buy the lights? I'd love to see them! Christopher Wray's (you were right Kate)is quite amazing isn't it? Although I wasn't too pleased when my Mother used to drag me round there for what seemed like hours when I was a child. Very boring for a 6 year old.

Scully You're very brave having all those people over Was it a special occasion or did you just fancy a get together? What's the weather doing over there? We seem to have a lot of mist in the morning then the sun burns it away. It was really chilly/misty yesterday morning until about 10.30am but then it turned out to be a glorious day!

I spent the day yesterday taking my little Sis back to Loughborough Uni with her hundreds of belongings.
Wasn't a bad journey, lots of traffic at one point but we got there within 3 hours and I managed to get back within about 2.5 hours. Long day though.
I've never even set foot on a Uni campus before! Makes me feel as if I wish I'd had the chance to go myself. Still, I'm not the academic sort so I wouldn't have got any work done - just partied

I'm going to see my friend and her baby in hospital this morning. She seems a lot brighter now as they've just found out the baby's not got any brain damage (phew) just gotta sort out this paralyzed vocal cord thing. Apparently it's extremely rare, only about a handful in the whole world are known to have it Still she's in the best possible place. IT's the best Neo-natal clinic in Europe

Mibbes How was the AN NCT class?
I've been told I can't go to the AN classes at the hospital as it's only for 1st time Mums. They used to have a refresher course but don't do it anymore - great, thanks!
Not sure I can justify paying for classes though when I should be getting them free I'd rather spend the money on a new double pram I'm sure I'll know what to do when it's time to give birth, like getting back on a horse isn't it?

Right, gonna get showered and dressed. HAve a nice day everyone, I'll catch up later

FruitynNutty · 28/09/2008 09:00

Well, I've got up early, showered, washed my hair (on a Sunday morning) just received a text from my friend in hospital saying she isn't up to visitors today.
I know, I know, I sound terribly selfish but we are very good friends (could say best friends but don't really like that term), we normally see each other everyday. She has cancelled me so many times now Ive lost count. I realise she's very upset about her baby being ill but she doesn't seem to cancel anyone else. Our mutual friend must see her about twice a week. I haven't seen her for weeks and weeks. She said she even had a tear in her eye as she was so looking forward to me coming - So did I, it seemed as though this time she wasn't going to cancel.

I was up really early yesterday to go to Loughborough and today I set my alarm nice and early.
DP was supposed to go into work this morning but had to arrange to go in later so I could leave DS with him while I go. Whcih means he won't get the work done that he needed to.

Bloody hell, I sound so selfish. I'm just tired I think.

I need a slap.

I really do feel for my friend. I just really really wanna be there for her. I'm starting to take it personally because our other friend visits her. Maybe our other friend is pushy and she really doesn't want her to be there but can't tell her not to come

MollieMooma · 28/09/2008 09:03

Kate Your way of celebrating Thomas's due date sounds perfect, like the others said I'm sure he would have approved. Hope you have a fantastic day out today as well, sod work, it'll be there when you get back, make the most of this gorgeous weather. I'm very impressed with the 4am bedtime Don't forget where we are though if things get too much for you hun x x
Scully Oh my that was a lot of people! Hope there wasn't too much washing up
Fruity How lovely to hear that your friends LO isn't brain damaged, like you said at least she's in the best place, can they "cure" this problem or will it affect him/her for the rest of their life? Can't believe they don't give you AN classes unless it's your first time, how tight is that?
I had an incredibly lazy day yesterday so I am determined to do more today, so off to shower and dress and start on my huge list of jobs
Have a lovely day all and if I'm back on here later you know I gave up on the jobs

teeheelaydee · 28/09/2008 09:12

Kate Sounds like you remembered Thomas in the perfect way. A few tears followed by a celebration. Hopefully now that the day has passed it will help a little. As far is work is concerned, you can catch up next week. Weekends are for dancing to Abba, watching Strictly, and enjoying this glorious weather - it won't last long and a day out on the water sounds like the perfect way to blow the cobwebs away.

Scully You always seem to be entertaining, sounds like a great night. Hope the clearing up isn't too bad

Fruity Busy weekend for you too, hope you friend is OK under the circs. I guess if somenthing is rare doctors will be interested in it, which can only be a good thing.

Georgie What are the lights like? and more importantly was you breakfast nice. I love going out for breakfast.

to everyone else - enjoy the sunshine.

FruitynNutty · 28/09/2008 13:22

Now I feel bad for moaning. My friend actually called me a little while ago to apologize for cancelling yet again and didn't want me to take it personally
I hadn't realised quite how serious it all was. The baby had the brain scan because they thought 1) She might have a brain tumour and 2) her brain might have been too big for her head and compressing on nerves or something. Thank god she has nothing wrong with her brain. She said they've got Europe's best specialist who has only ever seen this once before!

I'm now trying to get DP out the door so we can have a nosey around Centre Court - He now doesn't have to go into work at all

Kate I've just remembered I had no idea what you were talking about when you said RIB and dash round the Solent. I'm assuming the Solent is a river/Lake? What's a RIB? I asked DP but he had no idea. I'm sure it's something very obvious

We're going to go and buy some ingredients to make an Eton Mess - one of my fave puds - can't wait!

EisAHandbagaHolic · 28/09/2008 13:22

hi ladies
justb a quick one to say to kate im so glad you found a nice drunken way to celebrate your thomas i hope it marks the beginning of a happier time filled with reasons to celebrate for you
hi to everyone else
i hope everyone i having a nice sunday
xx ei xx

kate2179 · 28/09/2008 18:51

Evening all! Well we had a great time!

I've decided I'm going to try very hard to return the trial I'm meant to be doing this week (ie get my clerks to find someone else to do it) as I just don't think I'm up to it. Financially it's a stupid decision but there we go. I feel like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders so I guess it's probably the right thing to do anyway! I have a fairly nightmarish few weeks coming up work-wise and I think I just need to get myself ready for it... Or try to anyway...

Fruity a rib is a Rigid Inflatable Boat- one of these
They go very very fast and are very very fun. We'd love to get one but they are incredibly expensive so there's absolutely no way. The Solent is the stretch if water between us and the Isle of Wight . I won't tell your geography teacher you didn't know that . We went to the Needles and then to Yarmouth for lunch. It was fab. Now need to get down to some work but.... (I am useless!) Soooooo tired now....

Oh, and looks like our black labrador puppy might turn into a little white Westie puppy... Our friends who stayed on Friday have a lab and I'm not sure we really have the space... check out these cuties!

cricri · 28/09/2008 20:59

Kate Glad you had such a good day today - made up for the sadness of yesterday but as the others have said, I think you remembered Thomas in the best possible way. It sounds as though you've made the right decision with work too - take some time for yourself if you don't feel up to it. Your health and wellbeing are more important than money. A Westie sounds gorgeous! I'm not a dog person (don't like big slobbery ones that jump all over you or try to) but I can handle Westie-size ones
Mollie Looks like you got all your jobs done then
Scully Hope you haven't spent all of today clearing up after the BBQ!
Fruity Good news about your friend's LO. Sounds like she's getting the best possible care. How was Centre Court?
Georgie Hope you had a good weekend and found some nice lights!
We've had a lovely weekend - met up with some friends and their DDs at a country estate yesterday and had lunch there before going for a walk. Gorgeous sunshine! Today DH put the cot bed up so once I've tidied the room a bit I will take some pics and put them on my profile Went over to our neighbours' this afternoon for a surprise birthday party so that was fun. Had to leave early though as DH is on nights this week and had to go into work. Still, it was a good excuse as I'm worn out and about to go to bed!
Scan with the consultant at 8.30am tomorrow so I'm getting a bit nervous about that, fingers crossed the baby's kidney dilation shows a reduction compared with Thursday's figure... Will update you when I get back.
Hope everybody else is OK and having a good evening

kate2179 · 28/09/2008 22:06

Will be thinking of you tomorrow Cricri, let us know how you get on

mel1981 · 28/09/2008 23:24

Hi everyone, I know ive not really posted on here much but just thought id let you all know ive got a BFP friday morning after 10 months of trying! me & DH are over the moon.
Congratulations Mollie.

SparklyPseudonym · 29/09/2008 08:56

Morning ladies,
Have been popping in over the weekend but not had time to post. We've been doing lots of family bits and bobs including taking DD ice skating. It was such good fun.
I think I need to test again in the next few days to see a BFN - This is the only time you'll see me hoping for one. I just want to know it's all over. Do you think 2 weeks is too soon to test?
Mel Congrats!! Lots of sticky vibes to you.
Cricri Lots of luck today. I had a little look in this pregnancy book I've got and it talks about kidney dilation in there with another big word that I can't remember. Apparantly they can do all sorts of draining in the womb which amazed me. It seems as though there is lots they can do, whatever the result but I'm sure everything will be fine.
Kate What a lovely way to remember Thomas! I hope things start to become easier for you now the first anniversary has passed. Those pups are gorgeous. I showed DP asked if we could get one...he said no!
Fruity Hope the baby is ok. How was the pud?
Ei How are lovely? OPKS yet?
Scully Sounds like you had a very busy weekend.
Emmsy I can't believe you're going to have your baby so soon. Have you been early on the others? Lovely news about your children by the way. I'd keep going to the phonics with your DS and when he's feeling confident do some word/pic games. i.e. dog and a pic of a dog. If he knows the sounds of the letters he shound be able say d-o-g. They enjoy it that way. Good luck super mum .
HTGG LOL at the legs in the air...I'll try!! DP will prefer that to me shouting, 'swim spermies, swim!'.
Teehee Hope you're feeling ok lovely.

Hi to everyone else I've missed and sorry for the rambling..arrgggh, 5 to 9...oops!

OP posts:
FruitynNutty · 29/09/2008 08:59

Morning,

Cricri Centre Court had nothing to offer me I'm afraid. I came back empty handed , it's difficult because I have no idea how big I'm going ot get, at this rate I shall be growing out of my maternity clothes soon, might just start wearing a bin bag.
Best of luck for your scan this morning, I can't wait to see your nursery pics!

I've got an appointment with the consultant on Thursday at 10am, please don't let me forget this time!

Congratulations Mel1981 10 months seems like such a long time doesn't it!
