Here we go again . Let the good news flow....

OP posts:
MollieMooma · 01/10/2008 18:31

TeeHee I will be thinking of you later
I hope everyone else is OK, thanks all for your kind words and support. Just a quickie from me. After a whole afternoon of chasing the hospital a nurse finally told me that my levels were 8, the registrar yesterday stated they had to be 1000-1500 so I thought that was bad, but according to the magic of google at 4 wks (which Dr Sparkly and I think I am roughly) then they should be between 5-430 anything over 5 confirms pg. So at least they have confirmed I am, will go tomorrow for more bloods to see if they have doubled to confirm if pg is progressing.
I can't describe how muddled I feel at the moment, I'm so up and down so I apologise.

cricri · 01/10/2008 20:41

Mollie I'm not suprised you're muddled with everything that's going on Hopefully you'll get some answers tomorrow. Sorry to hear about your experience with the registrar yesterday too. (((Hugs))) to you.
Teehee Sorry you've been feeling a bit down. Even though this pregnancy is something you've wanted for so long it's OK for your emotions to go up and down. Don't feel you have to be cheerful all the time, especially as you seem to be having quite a hard time of it in terms of symptoms. Hope the scan went well this evening.
Sparkly Hope you're OK. As the others have said, don't overdo it and look after yourself.
Emmsy Hope you've had a quieter evening tonight after yesterday's nightmare. Hope you're managing to rest occasionally.
I apologise for not yet posting nursery pics but it's still a tip I've got lots of work on again this week so may have to wait until next week...
Quick update from me: Had mw appt at lunchtime at home and I have the all clear for my HB GBS results were negative thank goodness. I ordered my pool tonight and it will be delivered next Wednesday. Just need to make it to 37 weeks now - 10 days to go. All is well, baby is 3/5 engaged so on her way (yikes!) Apparently she's quite compact and not too big which is a relief - just as long as she hasn't got a big head!
Hope everybody else is OK this evening

kate2179 · 01/10/2008 22:24

Just logged on to see how Mollie and Teehee are getting on today...

Teehee I wonder whether they will have done your bloods tonight as part of a private scan... The tests you described later on sound more like the triple test to me which are not the same thing... Let us know how it goes

Mollie lovely, so sorry it wasn't better news . I remember the waiting game only too well, I think in many ways it's the hardest time . How many DPO are you? if you said you reckon you're about 4 weeks, ie AF dues about now with conception 2 weeks ago, then I guess you're about 14DPO? Have you seen this? I got it from wise doctor jules over on knicker checkers many many moons ago. I found it pretty accurate tbh. The lowest level they've recorded for a "successful" (ie hb detected) pregnancy at 4 weeks is 3, but the average is 100, based on a survey of 1576 women. I'm guessing you'll you have your second test tomorrow and the results on Friday? We're all here for you, whatever we can do. Sending lots of love to you and your DH

EisAHandbagaHolic · 01/10/2008 22:37

hi ladies
teehee hope all is well and you have some lovely pics to show us
mollie im not surprised youre confused!! sounds like the NHS down your way are just not very good at being efficient or giving clear info!! i hope your bloods tomorrow show your levels rising nicely
hi to everyone else
xx ei xx

Emmsy1 · 02/10/2008 04:51

mollie really sorry about all this waiting, but I am keeping my fingers crossed for you xx

hope private scan went ok THLD?

had letter re: bloods yesterday, iron level @ 10.1 and platelets at 130? have been prescribed ferris sulphate 200mg x3 per day, hoping that they dont cause too much constipation as have had a lot of shooting pains up my left leg and in my buttock baby has settled back to back and I cant move him/her little love is lying on a nerve and is already causing me grief before being born! don't know much about platelets, does anyone know if the iron tablets will get them back up again? xx

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 02/10/2008 13:22

Hi all. Just popping on to say hi. Libs got a chest infection so she's a poorly little girl. Got some antibiotics so hopefully they will kick in soon.

TeeHee Moan away love. If you can't do it here, then you'll explode. And as you said, with 3 m/c under your belt, you really do need to let off some steam. Don't worry a jot about what you think you should be doing. Just go with how you're feeling. And remember, all those hormones whizzing around don't make for a sane lady!!! Good luck with the scan.

Mollie Bloody hell mate. What a total balls up with your hosptial/consultant/registrar. Just makes my blood boil that they treat women like this. Am really, really hoping that you can get some answers soon. I found that Bach Rescue Remedy really helped to quell my anxiety. Am pretty positive that you can take if you're pg. But just check.

Fruity How's it going lady?

Ei Still waiting for my salsa lesson!

Emmsy You most certainly should tell me your secret for your boundless energy. I think you're bloody amazing.

Cricri Fab news about the HB. Let's hope that the environment lets you have a calm, peaceful birth. Or if not, then you scare the be-jesus out of your neighbours with all the hollerin' and shoutin'!

Kate Any news on the Westie?

Sparkly Hope you're not over doing it missus.

Scully How's it going with you? Do you think you got lucky this month?

Piper Long time no hear from. Isn't the wedding coming upi soon?

Yarnie If you're lurking. Hi!

Nothing interesting happening here. Quite nice to not be symptom spotting. Am 100% sure that we haven't hit the jackpot this month. But went to accupuncturist on Tues so we'll see what he can do. Am feeling fairly philosophical. What will be will be. Ho hum. xxxxxxxxx

FruitynNutty · 02/10/2008 13:30

Emmsy sorry, I know nothing bout platelets and iron but ouch, that sounds painful. You'll have to do lots of swaying about on all fours/gym ball to get the baby to move into a different position.

I'm back from my consultant appointment. I had to wait an hour to be seen Apparently that's good and it has been known to have a 3 hour wait What's the point of having an appointment then?

Flipping trainee measured my uterus. She said it was only 11 cms! How can that be when my belly is huge? If anything I thought it would be measuring too big, not too small! I thought the length of your uterus coincides with how many weeks you are? So mine should be at least 15.5cms? The consultant didn't seem concerned about it, said they develop at different rates. So What the hell am I carrying in my belly then? I cannot believe it's mostly fat because it's round and fairly solid like a preg belly.

Anyway, the heartbeat was fine. I checked over my notes just now hoping to find a figure for the heartbeat but it just says "good" I was hoping to be able to do that trick with the heartbeat and what sex Button is.

Also my thyroid antibodies are normal so I don't have to worry about it crossing over to Button.

So, I don't see anyone now until my scan at 21+5 - there's no way I'll forget that!

A very quick one from me as I've not long got in and have so much to do.

BIG HELLO to NOAM!! How are you lovely lady? Great to see you here - what's new with you after all these months?

Mollie and Teehee Any news from you?

Will pop back in later to catch up xxxx

OP posts:
teeheelaydee · 02/10/2008 18:06

Hi girlies, the scan was fantastic! The nuchal was as close to normal as you can get and we saw the blood flowing through the umbilical cord and the consultant checked out the baby's belly button which apparently is an indicator of chromosone defects. He spent loads longer showing us bits and printing of photos. Put the HB on speaker - which was amazing. Baby was wiggling about like mad. It was just brilliant. Downs risk is 1 in 1800ish at the mo and the final figure will come after the triple test in a couple of weeks. Feel so much better - think that was what was really wrong - i was stressing that all had gone wrong. Mind you get home from work about an hour ago and was sooo sick - thought that had stopped!! My body is no longer my own.

Cricri & Emmsy So exciting to hear you are both getting so close now, although sorry to hear you are suffering Emmsy. You're nearly there, the end is in sight! Great news about the HB Cricri - you sound really excited.

Sparkly Hope you and your friend are doing OK? BTW meant to say love the pictures on facebook from the christining.

Georgie Hopefully the antibiotics kick in soon for Libs. Other than that you sound really chilled which is great - the acupuncture is worth it for that alone.

Mollie What a nightmare you are having. Every day we all seem to say "Hope you get some answers" and it just seems to go on and on. Up and down is fine though - at least you are having some ups, you just got to keep riding the downs.

Fruity Sounds like you have had another successful experience of the NHS too - Grrrr! Didn't look like fat to me - just an ever expanding baby bump - perhaps it's wind too many baked beans with cheese.

DP has just walked in and asked if I want Indian or fish and chips as his turn to cook. Normally fine but had to remind him just thrown up and to get his lazy self in the kitchen as not really up for junk food!!

Hey to scully, yarnie, EI and of course Kate. (please say I haven't forgotten anyone)

MollieMooma · 02/10/2008 19:01

Just to update you all, after much more chasing and hassle finally had 2nd blood test today, the hospital just rang with the results, it's now negative so they can't confirm but they think we probably conceived and the fetus died straight away. Just have to wait for AF now. To be honest it's hit me hard being so close to the 2nd m/c, even though I kept trying to convince myself it would be bad news, part of me was still stupidly hoping

I have been very lapse over the last few days and I promise to catch up properly when I'm in a better frame of mind
x

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 02/10/2008 19:36

Mollie Sending you loads of (((((((HUGS))))). Am so so sorry that you've gone through this again. Life is a bitch. And I don't mean that in a flippant way. Don't you dare worry about catching up. You have not been lapse. You've been to hell and back. Just take some time to be very very selfish and make sure you do exactly what YOU want to do. We're here when you need us. Love to your DH as well. he must be feeling very sad as well. xxxxxxxxx

kate2179 · 02/10/2008 19:52

Mollie so sorry to hear what you are going through Have they told you when you'll be able to see the consultant 'properly'? Please don't think that I am trying to put a positive spin on something so terrible, but it may be that they say you qualify for more investigation with 3 medically recorded mc's than you would with 2. No comfort now I know, when all you want is to still be pg . Would you consider volunteering for any of those clinical trial Jules mentioned on MC Avengers? Am gutted for you, and here if you ever need to moan/rant/cry. Sending you and your DP lots of love

Fruity at the trainee... So wouldn't surprise me if that's the reason for you measuring small... . NO WAY is that fat, it's a baby bump. I know, I've seen it!!! Bet all the others who were at the meet-up will say the same. And we know much more than some silly trainee

Georgie sorry to hear Libs has been ill, but really glad you're feeling more relaxed about things. You're right, there's nothing fun or healthy in symptom spotting in my experience. Please would you remind me of that when we are desperately trying, that is if we EVER get the all clear to start....

Teehee what I wouldn't give for an experience like you had yesterday ! Hopefully one day, preferably one day soon-ish Am so pleased it went so well for you, enjoy it, YOU DESERVE IT!!!

Sparkly you have so much on your plate atm Really hope you're ok. I know we're all here to support you in any way we can

Cricri & Emmsy not long now Can't wait to see the baby pics!!

to Ei, Scully & Piper

Emmsy1 · 02/10/2008 20:46

Mollie can't believe what you have been through these last few days thinking of you,

NOAM course we still remember you, lovely to hear from you I only have 21 days left according to hosp due date slightly longer if you take it from my FDLP which was 26th Jan, although I ovulated on day 9 of that cycle, instead of the usual days either day 14,15 or 16?? had followed an exceptionally long 50+ day cycle though, so not really sure when baby due, I would think approx 28th October?? do you know what your having? what date are you due on? you must keep us updated now missy, no more dissapearing acts, do you hear!

Hello to everyone else > xxx

cricri · 02/10/2008 21:26

Mollie So sorry to hear your news after all the anxious waiting I'm not surprised it's hit you hard coming so soon after your last mc. Look after yourself and DH and as I've said before, we're here whenever you need us. (((Hugs)))
NOAM Welcome back Hope everything is OK with you.
Fruity I've seen 2 MWs in the past 2 weeks and according to their measurements my bump went down from 35cm to 31cm I don't think the tape measure is really accurate tbh as they seem to measure from different points. You most definitely are not fat - you had a lovely bump when I saw you 2 weeks ago! Are you going to find out the flavour at your 21 week scan or does your trust not tell you?
Georgie Hope Libs is feeling a bit better and antibiotics are doing the job. Hope the acupuncture works for you as well - I love it.
Teehee Fab news about your scan Sorry to hear you're still being sick though, hope it passes soon. I hated that stage.
Mibbes Forgot to say yesterday that your nursery looks lovely in the pictures
Emmsy Race you I'm due on 1 November with a LMP date of 26 Jan too. I think you'll beat me to it though given that I'm a first-timer.
I'm off to London tomorrow to meet some ladies from my AN thread - we're having afternoon tea in a hotel Should be fun, although I bet they're not as nice as you ladies Will report back. And we'll have to arrange another meet-up too!
Hello to everyone else

EisAHandbagaHolic · 02/10/2008 22:04

hi ladies
mollie im so sorry to hear your news i agree with kate that you should defo ask about the clinical trial. its a steroid one isnt it?(prednisolone i think its called) worth looking into though and if you can maybe try and book a private appointment if you have the funds xx i really hope this is the last in your awful streak of bad experiences and you get some answers soon that will lead to your baby xxx {{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}
teehee im so glad all is well for you and that your scan was so wonderful
NOAM lovely to 'see' you!! i cant believe you are almost in the mummy club!! hasnt time flown!! you will have to keep us posted on things now you are back!!
hi to everyone else
xx ei xx

mibbes · 02/10/2008 22:12

Mollie just wanted to say how I am to hear that this has happened to you again, you so deserve a break hun. I really hope they sort you out with an appt soon and get to the bottom of what the hell is going on. {{big hugs}}

NOAM lovely to see you missus - not sure about being referred to as an 'oldie' though, CHEEKY . I cannot believe you are due so soon, keep us updated. Are you all prepared ? It is really exciitng that ladies I 'met' almost a year ago are now starting to have their babies

Kate I keep meaning to ask you (sorry haven't been keeping as up to date with MN as much as usual) are you starting to TTC in earnest yet ? Didn't you say when you joined the thread that you had to wait until Sept ? Apologies if you have explained (and I may even have read it but am worse than a fish at the moment memory-wise )

mibbes · 02/10/2008 22:17

Hey teehe you forgot me !!! but I've been a bit rubbish lately so I'll forgive you So glad to hear your scan went so well - you sound so excited ! and you think your body is not your own now - wait until you are getting elbows/feet/hands/knees protruding all day, esp at work when trying to hold a conversation, very distracting and flipping sore sometimes ! I'm not complaining though, I think I'll miss the feeling when s/he arrives !

kate2179 · 02/10/2008 22:31

Mibbes I forgot you too Sorry former CB, I don't know how it happened!
We are STILL WAITING for test results so not 'allowed' to ttc yet... We still have to get the thrombophilia results and I need to sort out what on earth is on on smear-wise... But other than that, it's a bundle of fun!

Did anyone watch silent witness tonight? If so do you want to come and join me for a bit of wrist-slitting/tall-building-jumping? How F-ING depressing was that?!?! I know it's meant to be 'gritty' and true to life, but really...

Emmsy1 · 03/10/2008 03:17

cricri didn't realise we were so near in our due dates, do you know when you ovulated? I only had intercourse on day 9 & 10 that month and according to temp & opk I 'O' on day 9! so really expecting to go a little earlier than text book says (still can't understand why hospital gave me an earlier date at both scans if anything they usually give you a slightly later date than you expect, anyway it's a deal 'RACE ON' winner get's the shortest labour!!

cricri · 03/10/2008 07:11

Emmsy I think I ovulated CD17 or 18 but I'm not sure as OPKs never worked for me. I mentioned later ovulation at my first scan (7+3) but consultant said it didn't really make that much difference and since then I (and the HCPs) have been going on 1 November as it fits the EDD predictors and scans were all correct for dates. Let's hope we both have short labours though

Emmsy1 · 03/10/2008 10:58

"here, here" cricri lets hope we both do get short labours! and not too painful, would be really amazing if we had our babies on the same day

Emmsy1 · 03/10/2008 19:47

hello girls, just popping in to let you know that sambrads had a baby girl last night! she's called her brooke and she weighed 7lb 9 1/2oz, told her I would let yhou girls know her good news.

Where is everybody? Very quiet in here at the moment.
Congratulations to Sambrads, can't wait to see some pictures!
NOAM We hope for short and pain-free (well, as much as it can be!) labours together I can't believe you, Emmsy and I are so close with our EDDs!
Well the meet-up yesterday went really well - there were only 6 of us which was a nice number as you could chat to everybody. The hotel where we had tea was lovely and the food was scrummy. It was nice to meet the ladies from the AN thread in RL and like when some of us from this thread met up a couple of weeks ago the time just flew by! I was worn out after a day in London though.
Hope everybody is having a good weekend
