Here we go again . Let the good news flow....

OP posts:
FruitynNutty · 29/09/2008 09:06

crossed posts Sparkly Ice skating! What a good idea, I'm wondering if DS might enjoy that now
I think the baby is ok, my friend has to learn how to feed her through a tube though Hopefully she'll be able to go home soon once feeding is established, the problem is the blue episodes she keeps having My friend has had to re-learn resuscitation, she knows it as she's a Childminder but it's different with your own isn't it.

MollieMooma · 29/09/2008 09:37

Fruity I can't begin to imagine how scary things will be for your friend, I'm sure she will learn to adapt, it's just getting used to things, but having to learn to resucitate your own child! How is she coping?
CriCri Good luck, you'll have had the scan now, so I hope all went well. Can' wait to see nursery pics
Mel Congratulations
Kate Glad to hear you had a good day yesterday, sounds to me like you've definately made the right choice with the trial. Mum & Dad have a westie, he's lovely, doesn't malt (sp) as much as a lab either!
Sparkly I would test, especially as you've stopped spotting now, fingers crossed for a BFN so you can move on hun x

Well it looks as though it's all over for me before it's begun I started spotting yesterday lunchtime, TMI alert, very pale and watery but just when I go to loo and wipe. Feel a bit crampy this morning, just want AF to appear if it's going to so I know where I am, can't believe this is happening again I presume it would be classed as a chemical pg? I did another test this morning with FMU, clearblue this time (the other two were sainsburys) this was BFN
Don't know what to think, feel very bewildered

cricri · 29/09/2008 10:48

Mollie So sorry to hear your news I just can't believe it. I guess it would be classed as CP but probably best to make an appt with your GP just to make sure? You're seeing the consultant tomorrow in any case so you can mention it to him and see what he says as well. Ei may have more useful information as she's had experience of this. Are you at work at the moment? See how you feel and definitely go home if you don't feel up to carrying on. (((Hugs))) to you and we're here if you need us.
Sparkly I agree with Mollie, definitely do a test. I did one a couple of weeks after my mc and it helped to start afresh IYSWIM. As you say, it's the one time you're wishing for a BFN
Mel Congratulations Hope everything goes well for you.
Emmsy Forgot to say hi last night Glad all is going well - how exciting that you may soon meet your baby!
Mibbes How were the NCT classes? Hope you met a nice group of people
Well, the scan went OK and turns out the sonographer was looking at baby's bowel on Thursday rather than the kidney However, there is some dilation in the right kidney so I need to go back in 3 weeks for another scan to see if there has been any change. The consultant said that the measurement could vary from day to day and we've seen that happen with each scan. Even today with 2 sonographers they seemed to struggle to work out what they were looking at though I couldn't tell what was on the screen obviously and it did seem difficult to make out but it's their job FFS. I think the NHS machines just aren't sensitive enough... However, the good news is that irrespective of the result in 3 weeks it won't affect my HB plans as the baby will be scanned by a paediatrician within 6 weeks of birth and there's no point in doing it within the first 3 days after the birth in any case according to the consultant. Just awaiting my GBS result now before I can order my birthing pool... The MW is coming round on Wednesday so hopefully she'll have the result with her and can give me the go-ahead.
Hope everybody else is OK

scully · 29/09/2008 11:57

Sorry to hear that Mollie Sounds like a CP. Your hcg levels wouldn't still have been raised from the m/c would they?
Your poor friend Fruity, sounds like she has a lot to cope with, I'm sure she appreciates you being there, even if she can't always cope with visitors.
Cleaning up after the bbq on Sat didn't take too long at all actually, was very happy for the recycling bin to be emptied this morning, it was overflowing
Don't get a staffy Kate, ours malts so much it's ridiculous, for a short haired dog He also digs holes all over the yard and chews anything that doesn't move, can you tell that I'm a fan He's wonderful with the girls though, his one saving grace
Hi to everyone else, enjoy your Monday

teeheelaydee · 29/09/2008 17:35

Kate Sounds like you made the right decision about work. When I went off (which I'm not suggesting) I remember feeling in shock but a huge huge relief. We spend so much time doing the right thing that we often don't do the thing that is right for us

Sparkly I think 2 weeks should be enough time to do a test. Mine came up BFN after a week. You might have a big cry but as you say then you can move on.

Mollie So so sorry to hear that you feel it could be over. I don't know what else to say really - it is all so unfair.

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 29/09/2008 19:27

Mollie Just wanted to say how desperately sorry I am to hear your news. I just can't believe that it's happened again for you. Please, please try and take it easy. And pump your consultant for all s/he's worth information wise. We're here for you. Please don't feel that you can't share how you're feeling. I wish there was something more that I can could do. I can only offer a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen with. But hopefully, with everyone else, we can get you thru this awful time. ((((((HUGS)))))

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 29/09/2008 19:30

Hi to everyone else. Sorry, not much time to catch up. But just wanted to say hi and send love to everyone. Will write a proper post tomorrow. But in the meantime, Kate, I've joined the dog brigade. Have Mum and Dad's border collie for 6 weeks. And god, I hate picking up poo. It's one thing to scrape it out of your DD's knickers, quite another to pick up a pile of steaming dog turd . And with that lovely image, I shall bid you all a wonderful night! xxxxxxxx

mibbes · 29/09/2008 19:59

Mollie I am so sorry to hear about bleed hun, I so hoped this one would stick . I really hope the consultant appt can bring some answers and if nothing else I guess this CP gives you even more ammunuition to be fully investigated, {{big hugs}} xx

Kate it sounds like you marked Thomas' due date in the best possible way, well done you are so brave. And well done for passing the case on, sounds like you need some breathing space. All your talk of cases and clerks makes me think of 'This Life' - I loved that Programme ! I imagine you to be the glam super-clever one like Milly (except less of an ice-Queen and not sh@gging the manky old man !)

Have had a bleedy day here too (again). Went to mat triage and had scan done (baby is fine thankfully), put on a monitor for baby HB and to check for contractions . Also had blood taken and an internal. Same as last time, an abrasion on the cervix causing bleed. Nothing to panic about but you can't help but worry. Coped fine today but got quite emotional tonight, I think it has been a lot more stressful than I realised at the time - when I got back to work my boss just said 'good you're back' and didn't ask if I/baby was ok - I was so upset and wished I'd gone home to rest as the MW had suggested. Why bother knocking your pan out when your boss is such a KNOB ! grrr... oohhh that feels better

MollieMooma · 29/09/2008 20:37

CriCri Can't believe how inaccurate they can be on the scans, like you said it's their job Fingers crossed all will be clear at next scan, sounds like your plans for a home birth are well on the way.
Sparkly Have you tested today hun?
Scully I checked with the GP when I spoke to her Friday and she doubted that it would be residual hormones, who knows??
Mibbes Sorry to hear you had another scare, but how lovely to see your bean again, take it easy and tell your boss to p*ss off next time I loved This Life too!
Georgie Thanks for making me cry!

Thank you all for your kind words, still only spotting, had a few twingy cramps this morning, nothing since, don't know what to think but it's really upsetting me, perhaps it's because it's all still raw from 2nd m/c? Bloody hormones
EI If you're about I could do with some advice hun?

mibbes · 29/09/2008 22:10

Ladies have posted nursery pics. still need to buy curtains etc.. but nearly there !

Have just scoffed half a tub of Phish food - I can highly recommend it as a pick-me-up after a pants day

Sparkly did you test hun ?

EisAHandbagaHolic · 30/09/2008 00:41

hi ladies
mollie im so sorry you think it may all be over for you FWIW with both my early MCs/CPs i had pain/cramps and heavy AFish bleeding from the outset. i would definitely talk to you consultant about it and try and push for a scan maybe next week or so xx i hope you get some answers tomorrow xxx if you need to talk my mob number is 07825369407 and that goes for any of you lot
cricri im so happy your scan went well and your HB can go ahead i am rather in awe of you TH!! i am not brave enough for a HB although it would be my ideal birth in my mind
mibbes sorry you have had a stressful time of it my friend had an abrasion on her cervix which bled heavily throughout her preg with her DS. at one point it was so heavy she was told by a junior doctor to prepare for the worst, i think this was around 25 weeks so she was understandably devastated even though she continued to feel movement and the heartbeat was always strong and regular on traces she was hospitalised twice with this so you take it easy!! DR eis orders
hi to everyone else
sparkly did you do a test??
me and my 2 lovely mates went to salsa dancing lesson tonight and it was so good!! we just laughed and laughed for an hour!! and all for £3
speak soon
xx ei xx

MollieMooma · 30/09/2008 08:25

Mibbes How cute does the nursery look, are you getting excited now things are falling into place?
EI Thanks for the info, my spotting seems to have eased off hardly anything there now? But did another predictor test this morning still BFN, so obsessed woman that I am I'm off to Sainsbury's to buy some more of their's as I know they gave me a BFP, see what that says You may regret giving me your number as I inundate poor Sparkly with texts x
I hope everyone else is well? I'm off to Sainsbury's then the hairdressers and this afternoon is the consultants appt, so a busy day for me (it will help to distract me hopefully)

kate2179 · 30/09/2008 10:54

Mollie I'm so sorry to hear your news . I really hope the consultant can help you shed some light on what's happened. Please let us know how you get on. Hope you have a lovely time at the hairdressers

Mibbes so sorry to hear about your bleed! What a nightmare! But really glad you and your LO are both ok. Your nursery is gorgeous ()

Cricri It's scary how little the doctors seem to know sometimes isn't it?! You'd hope they'd be able to tell the difference between a bowel and a kidney Glad to hear they're keeling an eye on you though, sounds like the homebirth is go go go! I'd be too scared myself, even though I know the stats, but all power to you!

Georgie how are you getting on with the hound? Is your building site house covered in dog hairs yet? We're still looking for a Westie puppy in budget, the ones I've spoken to so far via the kennel club are between £600 and £850! ! That's a lot of £ per square inch!

Ei salsa sounds great, I'd love to have a go, but have a horrible suspicion I'd be totally rubbish! Maybe in a few weeks you can teach the rest of us!

Having decided to get rid of it my trial got adjourned... So I have 2 days to try to catch up with paperwork and do my VAT return [bleurgh] and then a spot of drugs importation on Thursday! LOL at the This Life comment, I think I must be the only person on the planet who never wtached it!

Am off to see The Women tonight with a couple of girlfriends on Georgie's recommendation! The pressure's on Georgiegirl!

to Teehee Fruity & Scully, and CONGRATS to Mel!

SparklyPseudonym · 30/09/2008 11:26

Just a very, very quick one from me.
Might not be around much in the next few days...have spent the night in intensive care.
Remember my friend I told you about (and the cat?) well, his dad is very sick and my mate has no family to support him so I'm trying to make things as easy as poss. Am absolutely exhausted at the mo but just about to shoot back to the hosp after spending most of the night there. Speak soon xxx

OP posts:
HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 30/09/2008 13:07

Afternoon all. Just managed to get the hound walked before the heaven's opened. Between Libby pooing in her knickers and the pooper scooping after the dog, it's all a bit poo-tastic here at the mo! Ugh.

Mollie How's it going hon? Any news? When do you see your consultant?

Sparkly Lovely that you're helping your friend out. And I know it'll probably take your mind off things. But remember that you're probably still in need of a bit of TLC too. Don't over do it.

Kate Westie's are very cute. But bloody hell, they do seem a bit expensive. Have you tried contacting a Westie re-homing charity? Know they have them for Border Collie's. Google and am sure it'll throw something up. or call RSPCA? Be warned, Meg Ryan is VERY annoying and Meg Ryan-y. But good film. Not too taxing on the old grey matter!

Ei Oooooooo, gone on, teach us some moves! Would love to dance properly. As opposed to old school, 'big fish, small fish, cardboard box' crap clubbing thing that I do .

Mibbes How scary. Glad it's all calmed down now. But prob not the thing you wanted to happen huh. Especially after last scare. And what a PRICK your boss is. He'll get is come uppance. I do beleive in karam and he's brewing up to come back as dung bettles testicles .

Cricri V excited about your HB plan. If I EVER get pg again then I'd love to have HB. Might need one as DD1 5 hours and DD2 2.5 hours labour . When you off on mat leave?

Quick moan. Next door neighbour (with whom we share a drive) is being right pain in the arse. We have very old, very wonky victorian cobble driveway. She's now claiming that all the wonky bits have been caused by heavy machinery coming in and out of the drive. And she wants us to re-lay the whole thing . She can bloody well sod off. Grrrrr. Rather diff as I don't want to fall out with her, but also don't want to incur costs for something that wasn't our fault.

Last episode of Mutual Friends tonight. bring on Marc Warren and Alexander Armstrong! Yum

teeheelaydee · 30/09/2008 13:32

Hi girls, got back from my boring morning at the hospital. Had to fast all morning, have a blood test drink 410ml of lucozade then another blood test an hour later and another one an hour after that. Not very exciting so glad to be home.

Have had a really odd stomach/ab cramp today. Don't think it's anything to worry about as no bleeding and it came on quite suddenly when I stood up this morning. If I get in a comfy position it seems to be OK. I kind of hurts when I move or breath in too much. Think it's a muscle strain ? Plus I hadn't eaten this morning so probably hungry too. I hope it's nothing to worry about and I'm just freaking for nothing. I have my nuchal tomorrow so I guess that will put my mind at rest.

Mibbes Nursery looks lovely- Where did you get the furniture from? Hope you are feeling better, your boss sounds like an idiot. Next time you'll know to go home!

Sparkly Take it eaay won't you.

Cricri Hope you get some better answers next time.

Mollie Sounds like you could have a productive day. Did DH come with you to the consultant (mind you they tend to say quiet in my experience) A trip to the hairdressers could be just what you need.

Ei Salsa sounds fab! Great way to get in shape (not that you need too - oh shut up teehee!)

Georgie Knee deep in poo huh? Sounds like fun!

FruitynNutty · 30/09/2008 14:05

Afternoon,

Its so peaceful! I am only having my friend's baby boy once a week now as I have my neighbour's baby boy starting on Weds. I have two sleeping mindees - it's bliss! No blood curdling screaming

Mollie I'm so so sorry

Mibbes I'm so jealous Your nursery looks gorgeous. I want a nursery! I think I'll make a mini nursery down by the side of my bed - I could always transform DS's room as baby will eventually be in there with him

Sparkly OMG! I thought it was you in intensive care for a second , Like Teehee says, Take it easy!

Teehee I also had to do the Lucozade thing when pregnant with DS. I thought it was just routine, I thought I'd have to do it with this one too but they haven't asked me (different hospital too) I'm sure the cramps are nothing, I get all sorts of cramps if I move too quickly.

Cricri I'm very about your HB plan, I'm not allowed due to my previous emergency C-section

Ei You're very brave! Sounds like great fun though

Georgie Not envying the poo. I've only had one poo to clear up this morning and luckily it was contained in a nappy Major pongy though, it was the stinky mindee from last week, remember? Not half as messy as last week though but also at Wacky Warehouse, he obviously feels very relaxed there!

Bloody Wacky Warehouse have put their prices up. Used to be £3 for 1st child then £1.50 per extra child. Now they only allow one child at £1.50. Cost me £7.50 this morning It's a lot when you're used to spending £1 for all the children at all the playgroups I go to (and that includes juice, biscuits and coffee) Wacky didn't even have any caffeinated coffee! So I missed out on my free coffee (I don't see the point in drinking decaf)

EisAHandbagaHolic · 30/09/2008 20:21

hi ladies
mollie how was your appointment?? i hope all went well
a big ghello to everyone else
im off to get a nice shower so il cath up properly later
xx ei xx

MollieMooma · 30/09/2008 20:58

I apologise for the "me me me" post but I need to moan
Well appt today was at 4.30pm but the consultant was running 1.5hrs late so we saw his registrar at 5.45pm, unfortnately her english wasn't very good so we had trouble understanding her. She started to fill in a form with my pg/mc history on it, when I mentioned that I'd had +ve tests last week I asked if it could be residual hormones and she said no, that I was pg, so she stopped filling in the form and said there was no point continuing with that. She then took bloods to check HCG levels to see if it's a viable pg, told me to call for the results tomorrow, if they are too low then the ward will rebook me to see consultant (God knows when probably next year!) if they are high enough I will have repeat bloods on Thursday.
So she's confirmed that I am or have been pg but that's about it, it's just another bloody waiting game and I didn't even get to see the consultant. I'd gone armed with all these questions and info and got nothing
I did 2 more HPT's this morning, I did a clearblue digital which said "not pregnant" god those words hurt don't they? And a third sainsburys one which was +ve again, confused - I certainly am!
My spotting which stopped this morning, started again this afternoon, I don't feel the tiniest bit pg, so have decided I've lost this one too, will just make it easier when they tell me tomorrow.
Sorry for such a long rant, but feel miles better for getting it all off my chest.

MollieMooma · 30/09/2008 21:14

TeeHee Good luck for tomorrow and the scan, sounds like your body is just reminding you to take it easy, just be careful x

Emmsy1 · 30/09/2008 21:58

mollie Sorry that you are going through this waiting game, hang on in there hun, hope you get to speak to a consultant tomorrow, if you don't then please still ask all the questions and tell the person that you speak to that you would like them to find out the answers for you.lots of love xx

sparkly take it easy my lady, dont want to see you run down. (p.s I was 2 weeks early with 7 year old and 1 week early with 8 year old, 2 little ones came on their due date!)Thanks for the phonics info

mibbes hope your ok lovely and that that damn bleeding stops and stays that way, I know how worrying it can be xxxx

cricri hope your GBS result is ok tomorrow xx

THLD I'm sure that the cramping is nothing to worry about, I have had a lot of unusual cramps and weird sharp pains this time round, and all seems to be fine, good luck for tomorrow x

Ei how are feeling sweetheart, hope those blood results didn't get you down too much XX

kate I too am glad that you decided to celebrate Thomas memory in the way that you did, I'm very proud of you, and I really think you are a hell of a brave lady xx

Georgie I too spent last night cleaning up dog poo! I had already mopped my floor yesterday and was feeling really proud of how much cleaning I had managed to do. Our yorkshire terrier had a fit down stairs when I was upstairs bathing the children, when he 'comes down' from the fit he vomits, poo's & wees, unfortunately I did not have time to let him out, and he had pee'd and poo'd in quite a few places, it was sloppy and disgusting, and it was mostly on my long mat that I put my stools on to stop them slipping on the laminated floor. Ended up having to clean everywhere again at 7.30pm and then having to bath the dog as he was in a messy state, not a very nice evening!

scully and piper hope your both ok lovelys xx

Emmsy1 · 30/09/2008 22:04

fruity most of our childrens play areas are £2.50 per child in term time and £3.50 per child in the summer hols. I took my 4 to mini monsters on the last day of term after school, they had their uniform on but they still charged me £3.50 as the nearest school in their area had broken up the day before ours! damn cheek ripping off parents and carer's

kate2179 · 01/10/2008 11:24

Emmsy!! What a nightmare! Your poor doggy, and poor you Hope you can have a more relaxing day today.

Mollie These bloody hospitals make me SO !!! Wouldn't they let you keep waiting to see the consultant? I know it sounds dreadful, but I can't BEAR registrars. I know it's silly, cos all the consultants will have started off as registrars anyway, but the ones I have had the misfortune to see NEVER seem to know what they're talking abuout, and, as you experienced, can bearly speak english . Would you consider booking a private appointment with the consultant? Bet he won't keep you waiting then . You just need to phone the hospital, get the direct dial number for his secretary and speak to her about when he could see you privately and how much it would cost. IMO/experience having the direct dial number for the consultant's secretary is worth its weight in gold. HTH. that you're having such a terrible time . I do think though that it's now time to STEP AWAY from the HPTs. That way madness lies. If you fancy a chat at any point just send me a message on fb and I'll give you my mobile no. Am just so & for you... I really hope you get to speak to the consultant this afternoon when you phone for the results... PUSH PUSH PUSH! I know that sounds dreadful, but it seems to be the only way to get anywhere with the NHS... Good luck my love, let us know how you get on xx

Teehee a MASSIVE good luck to you today! Can't wait to see this week's photos! What time is your appt? Are they doing the nuchal bloods as well as the scan? Have everything crossed for you, though I'm sure there's no need Stretchy pains sound very normal, and actually pretty positive as it sounds like a sign your LO is growing big and strong Hope they put your mind at rest for you this afternoon

to everyone else on this sunny morning

mibbes · 01/10/2008 13:53

HTGG LOL at dung bettles testicles !

Sparkly remember to look after yourself hun xx

Emmsy euugh poor you ! I can't believe you have pets as well as the children and a baby on the way - I'd have a nervous breakdown !

teehee we got the furniture from the Glasgow Pram centre - there is a similar range on most websites (East Coast or something is the make).

Mollie am so sorry they are giving you the runarond - are Sainsbury's tests particularly sensitive ? I think the peeonastick website tells you the levels of hormone they detect. I really hope it is good news today, or at the very least they give another appt for soon xx

teeheelaydee · 01/10/2008 17:35

Emmsy How frustrating when you had just cleaned the house. I bet you were looking forward to putting your feet up and it's not the kind of job you can skim over! Your energy amazes me, I am freaking over having one babe to look after let alone a brood plus dog!

Sparkly I also thought it was you in intensive care and then afterwards realised that had you have been the last thing you would have been doing is posting on here!!

Mollie Poor you, that is just the last thing you needed. I too had an awful experience with a registrar (who again had dreadful English) and was so dismissive and rude. The problem is the last thing you probably feel like doing is fighting but unfortunately you're really the only one who can (unless DH is good at that kind of thing) Good luck tomorrow, don't let the bugger off the phone until you have asked everything. I am thinking of you and please don't apologise for a me me post - we really really don't mind one bit and in your circs it is totally justified.

Thanks for the messages around the cramps - just another delightful symptom, together with the vomiting and constipation and grumpiness and tiredness. I have had a grumpy couple of days but am feeling a bit better this afternoon. I don't think I'm very good at the prgnancy lark and with 3 m/c's to my name I feel I should not be moaning and should just be grateful. So positive head back on. Scan at 8pm as it is a private one, don't think I can get bloods done til 14 weeks so will prob go to the GP's for that.
