Ooooooh Fruity That bag is absolutely divine. I really don't think I could get away with the price though. I thought the one that Kate suggested was nice but I think you have topped it! DP's face was rather red when I bought cot bumper yesterday from M&P although I have justified it by saying that will not be getting everything in the range and also FIL gave me a £100 voucher to buy clothes with - what a sweetie hey! I think I am going to start squirrelling (sp?) purchases away and lying about the price, which is not me at all but then I've always had my own money and won't in the future- maybe this non-working thing is not such a good idea. You two need to stop tempting me though.

Mibbes You are also tempting me and how sweet of your DP to get the make up bag. Might have to leave your post on the screeen for him to see. Mind you your stories of BF. lack of sleep and poo might send him to his bed!!

Piper Sorry side effects have kicked in but your GP seems really pro-active which is great and very unusual. Must feel good to be doing something.

Mollie Oh yes I'm sure you couldn't get a word in!! Poor L must have been stunned into silence with you two. Actually the blind wasn't too hard - it's a roman blind which I think are the easiest. Once I got going it only took about 3 hours!

Kate Positive thinking lady - no spiralling into panic now, do you hear!

Georgie Glad you had a nice Christmas- why do men of any age insist on messing with technology.

I am currently trying to listen to the radio do this and eat my bacon sandwich while DP is talking to his Mum on the phone. She is currently asking if 20 week scan picks up cerebal palsy - Great thanks, very positive. Yet another worry that I hadn't thought of but probably will now. Why can't she just buy cute clothes and be quiet!

WhenFRUITYgotstuckupthechimney · 30/12/2008 10:01

Morning

at the price of that handbag Kate , it's not even all that special is it.
I agree with you, Mibbes, about the Julie only being part leather but I really like it and I'm a sucker for anything that looks remotely designer I really like your one but only the black and Aqua are on special offer otherwise it's about the same price as mine. I'd need a brown or a red I think.

Just spoken to Georgie about Friday for those who can make it. We were thinking of going to the Debenhams cafe in Wimbledon then off for a wonder around the shops. Haven't decided on a time yet though. Kate can you still make it? I hope you can. Bella I'll give you a text in a minute - hopefully you can make it too.

Can anyone else make it?

SparklyPseudonym · 30/12/2008 10:13

Morning (Do we have to stop using these now?). It's busy in here today...

Fruity I'd love to come to London on Friday but I don't think I'll be there. Have a lot of work to do and am back to school on Monday . Hope you all have a lovely shop though .
Teehee Lovely of your MIL!! Make sure you knows that you have all the 'worrying' bases covered.
Kate There you are . I'm sure nail varnish is fine - I used it when pg with DD. No worrying from you missy. PMA! (You can say the same to me eventually!) All if going to be fine. Will look out for that soup.
Piper Excellent news about the docs. My friend get awful clomid headaches - can't be nice but as you say, it will hopefully be worth it. Lots and lots of luck to you.
Mibbes Hope you have a good day today xx
Mollie It's nice to have someone saying nice things about me . You ok?
Georgie Bloody FIL . Hope your comp is working better - staying away from here is murder.

Hello to everyone else.

Ei You're very quiet...are you lurking?
Bella Have you left us?

OP posts:
Molliemooma · 30/12/2008 14:49

Mibbes Glad to hear the poo problem has resolved itself, well sort of, not too sure about the whole explosion yuck
Piper I too didn't realise you got side effects with clomid, sorry to hear you're getting headaches, but let's hope it'll all be worth it in the end Bet DH isn't too happy about being tested again
Kate Definately warmed up, I now have heating on constant, it's like the bahamas!
Georgei I so want that bag! I love it! Now all I have to do is get pregnant - how hard can that be!!!
TeeHee Glad to hear it will only take you three hours to make my blind I can post the fabric for you Tell your DP's mum to bog off and buy you a changing bag!
Sparkly What you up to today then? I'm having a lazy one (again) Although I've just made a beef and guiness casserole and put it in the oven for tea so not all lying around doing nothing
Fruity Hope you have a wonderful meet up, such a shame we can't teleport there, make things so much easier for us all to meet

HerNameWasSanta · 30/12/2008 16:19

Mollie yum. What time would you lile us all round??

Molliemooma · 30/12/2008 16:38

Kate Anytime after 5pm, just having a break from peeling spuds, we're having swede and potato mash, roast parsnips and carrots, all organic of course!

hohoholaydee · 30/12/2008 17:07

mmmm - yum Mollie I was looking forward to my Jackets and cold cuts until you posted that - now I want stew and dumplings. LOL at MIL buying a changing bag - when DP talked about buggies she said "you just had one of those blue and white striped ones, I don't know what all the fuss is about!" Mmm not from birth I don't think.

Kate When you said about nail varnish I thought you meant did I think it would look good - I was about to say - definately hot pink will look great - but you meant is it safe? I've never heard of anything to say you can't and hot pink will look fab with those shoes!

Are we all having a quiet one today - is that why it's so busy Sparkly. I have to say Christmas is lovely but today has been the first day in ages that we have just pottered about at home and it's been lovely. Although thanks to you lot I am not changing bag obsessed and when I mentioned prices to DP he appeared not to hear me!

hohoholaydee · 30/12/2008 17:09

I meant - now changing bag obsessed. Oh and meant to say over the bump jeans are the greatest invention ever - I can't tell you the relief to be wearing comfortable jeans foe the first time in months - and DP said I have been looking cooler than before I was PG (I think it was a compliment)

SparklyPseudonym · 30/12/2008 17:11

YUMMM!! I won't be there for about an hour and 40 Mollie but at least I won't get lost with my new satnav .
Kate I thought you wondered if nail varnish was safe - did you mean colour?
Teehee Spuds and meat seem boring next to our master chef's meal!! I think we'll be having salmon tonight after McDs for lunch.

OP posts:
MerryCRICRIstmas · 30/12/2008 17:18

Evening ladies MN working again on my office PC, hurrah! Not sure that's entirely a good thing though given that when I'm working I really have to knuckle down and get on with it these days!
Piper Sorry about BFN - saw a cryptic message on MSN about looking forward to August and thought you might have BFP... At least your GP is pro-active though which is good.
Mollie Elise and I will be round for dinner too Must get those photos uploaded. Glad you and Sparkly had a nice time yesterday.
Mibbes Knowing what to expect is half the battle isn't it? Hopefully things will settle down very soon. I also had to deal with a poo explosion at lunchtime which ended up with Elise having an impromptu bath - lovely! She seems to be very, um, productive at the moment
Would love to meet you girls on Friday but unfortunately Elise is having her first jabs that day Not sure how she's going to react - hopefully it will be OK. I have the calpol ready!
Kate I never gave nail varnish a thought - oops! Sure it's fine though. Sorry to tempt you with yet more clothes but this is a great site too: here Only discovered it a couple of weeks ago but got a lovely bf-friendly dress for Christmas Day from it.
Am I the only one without a designer changing bag then? I got mine free with the Boots parenting club The advantage is DH doesn't mind carrying it because it looks masculine too.
Teehee We didn't get things sorted for Elise until 6 weeks before EDD... Don't buy too many clothes or toys - you'll get given so much. Concentrate on the big items and stuff people won't buy you (such as bottles and sterilisers etc). A couple of the mums on our AN thread put together a great list for the first-timers which I found very useful. Let me know if you're interested.
Hope everybody else is OK

cricri · 30/12/2008 17:28

Photos are on Will put more on FB.
Teehee Entirely agree with the jeans - I had some below the bump ones and they kept falling down, even at the end My JJMMBB black trousers with elasticated waist were my pg best buy I have to say. I carried on wearing them post-birth for a few weeks too.

WhenFRUITYgotstuckupthechimney · 30/12/2008 17:40

I think I will also be getting the Boots free bag too Cricri - My designer changing bag is a far off dream at the moment.
Gorgeous gorgeous pictures of Elise btw

BellaHarry · 30/12/2008 18:04

Good evening ladies, hope all are well? I've had a horrible day today, woke up with some bleeding (old blood) so spent 3 hours in EPAU waiting for a scan. Finally got seen, saw button on the monitor, heart beating, good. Now pooing myself waiting for the worst to happen but praying it won't! Midwife couldn't give me any reason as to why I bled, and was really rude because I went to the local hospital rather than the one I'm registered with!! No simpathy, even given my delicate mental state, what a Bitch!! Any way sorry to bring the thread down a tad but needed to let it out. Take care x

WhenFRUITYgotstuckupthechimney · 30/12/2008 18:13

Bella Hopefully it's nothing to worry about. I've heard it is very common to have a little old blood during early pregnancy.
What a bitch though Which hospital was it? Which one are you registered with?
So pleased you saw a heart beat - so far so good {{{hugs}}}

HeyThereSantasGirl · 30/12/2008 19:09

Hi Guys. Another short one from me. PC fine now, but bloody MS just not going away. Getting worse if anything. Am 12+4 today and was hoping that it would start to ease up. It's the afternoons and evenings that are the worst. I know it's all part and parcel of being pg, but the constant nausea and gagging is just making me a bit miserable. So, I am with you in spirit if not in body at the moment. Apologies for the short messages to you all.

Mollie I really hope that you managed to get thru your anniversary. Was thinking of you. (((hugs)))).

Fruity Looking forward to Friday. Will be great to catch up. And LOVE LOVE LOVE that bag. Wow. I'd rob a bank to get that!!!!

Sparkly Sorry about the BFN. I'd recommend going for investigations. least you feel as if you're doing something positive. Really hope you get the same outsome as me!

Ei Sorry about the BFN too. Hope you're going to get well and truely sloshed on NYE. Just pretend you're 18 and get DH to knock you up on the back seat of the car!!!!!

Mibbes The never ending feedng. I remember it well. It's sooooooo tiring. I prob should ay this, but DD2 was so hungry that DH had to give her a bottle at night just to get any sleep at all. Hang in there. You're doing such a great job. You should be really proud of yourself.

Hello Mama Cricri. Am going to check new photo's of Elise when I've posted this. Hope the explosive poo situation calmed down.

Piper Sorry about the BFN. But is it good news about the Clomid? Have heard that it can give horrible side effects. Hope the headache is going away.

Kate 2 pairs of shoes?! Lucky you. Maybe you could change half way thru the night?! And are we talking nail varnish on fingers or toes? Yes to both. But wild on toes if showing thru shoes and subtle on fingers. If not, then vice versa. Glad accu appt went well. I know it must be hard, but do try and remember, that no two pg are the same. Sending you the stickiest of sticky vibes.

Scully Hope you did leave DH at home with a list as long as his arm of DIY stuff to do. Bloody hell, can't beleive he let you paint entire room all by yourself. Hope DD2 had lovely birthday.

Bella So sorry to hear about the bleed. But great news that you saw the heartbeat. Ignore the silly bint at the hospital. She was proably having a bad day. Try not to panic. The stress won't do you or LO any good. Just concentrate on the good news.

It's really bizarre that we're all talking about changing bags. I got mine today. Gulp. Just hope that I'm not tempting fate. It's a metallic bronze Stork Sac. £84 in Gap rather than £100. Can't do links I'm afraid. Durrrr.

Right, I really need my Bran Flakes and ice cold milk before I barf over keyboard. xxxxxxxxxx

mibbes · 30/12/2008 23:34

Quick post - have uploaded some xmas pics of the wee man on my profile

piper84 · 30/12/2008 23:59

Hi everyone,

Mibbes big waves, going to have a nose at your pics in a minute

Georgie yes the symptoms can be horrible, weight gain, headaches and hot flushes, hopefully worth it though

Cricri lol at msn message, my best friend is getting married in August and she asked me to be her chief bridesmaid (she was chief bridesmaid at my wedding and did a fantastic job so i will have a lot to live up to)

Bella sorry to hear about your bleed sending lots of sticky vibes your way

big waves to everyone else,

Off to have a nosey at mibbes pics and cricri's then off to bed

mibbes · 31/12/2008 00:03

piper sorry for BFN missus and sorry to hear clomid is giving you side effects

Bella so sorry to hear of your bleed, it is such a worry. Fingers crossed there is no more and the fact that beany was fine on scan is a great sign - hugs xx

cricri aahhh bless wee Elise she is gorgeous - she looks a good size, what does she weigh now ? Evan is now 8lb 7oz - more than 2lb heavier in less than 4 weeks !!

WhenFRUITYgotstuckupthechimney · 31/12/2008 08:50

Morning

Bella I hope you're ok. I'll text you later - at a more reasonable time!

Mibbes Evan looks so delicious!

I've just tried to register for Boots Parenting club. I thought I was already a member from having DS but it only goes up to when they turn two. Website down though I'm trying to get my hands on one of those bags they give away free.
I've decided as I'm now terrified I won't be able to pay my half of the mortgage and bills when I'm on Mat leave, buying an expensive changing bag would be very stupid indeed.
I've decided (if I don't have a c-section) I'm only going to take 2 weeks off work. It's not like I have to go "out" to work.

Blooming Marvellous website is still down, good thing for me really!

SparklyPseudonym · 31/12/2008 09:48

Morning all,
Am heading to visit a newborn this morning...got a bit carried away in Mothercare and wanted to touch every item. DP tried to avoid the baby section but we HAD to buy some presents . Ahhhhh I want a baby (or 6?!).
Fruity That;s very sensible of you. I'm pretty sure your mum/dad would buy you a nice changing bag if you hinted at it enough . Give it a go. xxx
Mibbes How are you looking so well? You look amazing...Evan is obviously gorgeous too. x
Piper My DP was up very late playing on MarioKarts - he doesn't even like computer games. I bought it for my niece and nephew when they visit .
Georgie That wasn't a short post. Sorry MS is still getting you down. I really hope it improves in the New Year.
Bella Sorry to hear about your bleed. It's hard but try not to worry too much - especially since you've seen a h/b. If you have any pains/fresh bleeding then don't be put off from going back. They've often a bit cocky with you...when I had my m/c at 11 weeks I had to go private because the NHS wouldn't let me have a scan . Be firm though. I'm sure everything is fine.
Cricri Elise is looking so grown up already. Love all the Christmassy red bits she's got on. She's very sweet .

Has anyone got plans for tonight? We'll be staying in so I'll make sure we pop by later to wish you all a very Happy New Year. xxx

HeyThereSantasGirl · 31/12/2008 11:10

Guys. I REALLY need some support.

I've just been called by Babybond with results for my scan and blood test for my nuchal scan. For my age I have a 1 in 112 risk of Downs, my hormone levels give me a 1 in 240 chance, but the adjusted score for me personally is 1 in 38. This is high risk.

I've just come back from seeing my GP who was lovely, but said that she thought it was a serious enough result to warrant a CVS.

I am PETRIFIED. I don't know what to do. I think I'll probably hve the CVS done. Although I know this carries a risk of MC. Although I don't know what I'll do if the CVS comes back positive for Downs.

DH and I are seeing private OB/GYN on Saturday to get some further information.

I'm just a soggy weepy mess at the moment.

I've posted on the Pregnancy board to see if anyone can give me advice.

Fuck it. I just can't believe this is happening to me.

WhenFRUITYgotstuckupthechimney · 31/12/2008 11:16

Oh Georgie, If it's any consolation a friend of mine had a 1 in 20 chance of having a Downs baby. Her son is now 7 (I think) and absolutely fine.
Thinking of you, I will completely understand if you don't feel up to Friday {{{{hugs}}}}

MerryCRICRIstmas · 31/12/2008 14:04

Georgie (((Hugs))) to you. What a hard decision to make. If you do decide to go ahead with the CVS, it might be worth going to the Fetal Medicine Centre in Harley St as they are very experienced in these matters. You could always call them to discuss the results too as they're very helpful. As Fruity says, the tests are not 100% accurate so in all likelihood you will end up with a perfectly healthy baby, but I can understand that you might not want to take the risk. I guess you also need to think long and hard about whether you would continue with the pg if Down's was detected. It's a very personal decision. My SIL has Down's and DH was adamant that he didn't want a baby with Down's, which is why we had all the tests done. I'm not sure how I would have felt had we been high risk. So sorry not to be able to help more. Hopefully somebody on the pg boards will be able to offer some advice.
Bella I'm so sorry, I totally forgot to respond to your post yesterday. at the way you were treated at such a worrying time. I do hope the bleeding has stopped. Usually old blood is nothing to worry about but it is very worrying when it happens. Glad that you saw a hb though
Mibbes Elise weighed just over 5kg when she was last weighed nearly 3 weeks ago. Don't know what that is in lbs - 12? Evan looks so cute in his Christmas outfits!
Fruity I went back to work a couple of weeks ago when Elise was 6 weeks. DH is having to take a 10% pay cut from January and the work was there for me so I took it. The sling has been great for that - I just pop her in it and sit at the PC. Not sure I could have done it any sooner though whilst I was getting bf established. At least nobody can see me sitting at the PC with my boobs hanging out for feeding sessions in the sling! As for the parenting club you can join instore if you can't do it online using the Advantage card terminal. You'll then get the voucher for the change bag through the post. Or as Sparkly said, perhaps get somebody to buy you the glam one!
Happy New Year everybody

hohoholaydee · 31/12/2008 14:36

Georgie So sorry and don't feel able to advise as it is such a personal decision and I have no idea what I would do, hopefully once you have all the information you will know which way you and DH want to go. Thinking of you lots and will be thinking positive for you.

Bella Ignore nasty midwife - luck of draw I'm afraid. Hope things are settling down now. Old blood is fairly common so try not to panic.

HeyThereSantasGirl · 31/12/2008 16:38

Thanks for all the support. Just very very numb with shock. GP and consultant seem to think that the result indicates the worst. And that I should prepare myself for this. I'm clinging on for dear life to the fact that my baby could be one of the 37 that would be ok.

I'm just so incredibly pissed off that this is happening to us after all that we've been thru.

Just going to have to do all the research I can and go to the consultant armed with loads of questions.

It's the not knowing that is killing me.
