EI BFN But... in the spirit of all things positive, you can have a drink or six at New Year now Such a sweet story about your DD shaking, bless her. Glad to see Santa got your DS for you too, I'm so addicted to mine!
Sparkly Snap, my AF this month was horrible, really heavy and went on forever, very random complete opposite to normal AF!
TeeHee Thanks for outing me! I'm so hoping that DH will pull his finger out and get my bathroom sorted too, if he gets mine done I'll send him to yours after!
Kate Definately the first pair, they are lovely! Have you decided what to do on the food/drink dilemma for NYE? You'll have to let me know what you think of Australia I'm trying to persuade DH he wants to see it.
Emmsy So glad your kids were able to enjoy themselves without Mr & Mrs Grumpy next door, hope they really took advantage of it
Fruity Have you been arrested for killing DP?
Piper test test test Are you going to test soon?
Scully I think that's a fab idea, you stay on the coast and DH can stay home and do the list of jobs you leave him

SparklyPseudonym · 27/12/2008 10:28

You lot are up early .
AF is still odd here. Have decided (alone) that I'm going to go for private investigations next month. A friend of mine who has a lot of gynae probs is convinced I have endo. I'm not so sure but I'll be glad to actually feel like I'm doing something before we start 'trying' again.
Ei Am sorry for BFN . Am hoping that we'll all have our babies by this time next year (did I say that last year?)
Scully I was just about to post the same as Mollie....she took the words right out of my mouth.
Mollie We have very similar SOHs. Are you feeling any better chick?

OP posts:
HerNameWasSanta · 27/12/2008 16:21

Sparkly that sounds like a good plan to me. You know I'm a big fan of feeling like you're 'doing something'. Even if you only rule things out that will be a weight off your mind - look at Georgie - start investigations, get a BFP, job done!

Am still trying (and failing) to summon the energy to leave the house, doesn't help that it's bloomin freezing out there...

BellaHarry · 28/12/2008 13:13

Being a bit crap with checking this over hols, normally do so during a boreing year 7 lesson!! and I'm so busy at the mo what with watching T.V and sittin g on my ase!!!! Mollie* so sorry you're feeling low, it must be really hard. I hope 2009 brings you all you wish for.

CriCri ms is definately better but I'm not having to wake up ealy and stare myself during teaching periods so I'm sure it won't last?! I do feel a bit like the whole world knows now, which is great really, I get spoilt by mum etc!

Sparkly Sounds like you had Christmas well in hand this year, fabulous organisation?? I was really suprised at how soon I felt sick! It was actually one of the reasons I tested in the first place and I was only about 4wks pg then!! My friend tells me it's because I'm having a boy, there are so many old wives tales out there, who knows.

Emmsy same name, but fairly new to the thread (NOV) hope you had a good Christmas.

Fruity as long as I've known you that man of yours has been a pain, why do we do it eh!? Can't live with 'em and can't afford to go without lol! Can't wait to catch up, really working on making it on the 2nd. Any ideas yet? xx

SparklyPseudonym · 28/12/2008 13:36

Hello one and all,
It's still very quiet in here.
Where are you Fruity? You've not been around for a while!
AF seems to be on her way out but am wondering whether it'll mean that I end up bleeding half way through the month again..really need to look into investigations. Haven't really talked to DP about it because I know he's keen to carry on trying for a while before going down that path. I'm pretty sure he'd be happy to do whatever I wanted but we'll see.
Bella Some people say a girl makes your sickness worse but I was never sick with DD - I just felt sick all the time.
Kate How are you feeling? It's freezing outside but the sun makes everything look so beautiful. Am hoping to follow suit of Georgie!

Hello to everyone else. Here is a list update. Haven't adjusted the pregnancies.

Bella Glad to hear your feeling a litle better
I hope everyone is feeling good after all their Christmas excesses (well better than me anyway )
Has anyone got any exciting plans for New Year, or is it just us childless ones that get to celebrate?

mibbes · 28/12/2008 15:37

hello lovely ladies - hope you all had a lovely xmas and managed to indulge in lots of yum food and a wee bit of the good stuff too

Sorry I haven't been around much. Had a fab 1st xmas with the wee man. Family all here and all fussing over him (in a good way), my parents were here which was lovely as they live a few hundred miles away so won't see DS as much as PILs. My dad was so smitten with him, it was lovely to see ! My mum was predictably every inch the adoring-grannie ! Anyway, have hit a bit of a wall with BFing as DS has decided that feeding every hour for about an hour (at least) is a good idea . Am exhausted and struggling with the feeling that all I do is feed him . Anyone had similar experience ? I dread him waking now as boobs ache and want to have 5 minutes to myself (is that selfish ?). Anyway, hopefully just a growth spurt and we'll get through it soon.

Kate I love the first shoes best !

MerryCRICRIstmas · 28/12/2008 16:40

Evening all! Sounds like you all had a good Xmas We did too and Elise got loads of presents. Goodness knows where we're going to put everything! Will post some photos soon. Unfortunately her party dress didn't last very long as we had a(nother) nappy incident! Still, she looked pretty whilst it lasted1 She was really good on the day - spent the duration of the meal in her swing chair either chatting to herself or asleep. It was a lovely day.
Mibbes In answer to your bf question, I went through the same thing and it is exhausting. It feels like it's going on forever but it won't - by 6 weeks I started to get into a bit of a routine after weeks of being stuck in my armchair. Could Evan be going through his 3 week growth spurt? There is lots of info here It's a fantastic site. Have you thought about getting a sling? Evan can then feed whilst you get on with other things. I've found my sling a great help and Elise loves it. Also, although supplementing with formula is not usually recommended, you may find Evan settles better with a bottle of formula, especially late evening. We did this for a few weeks and it seemed to help until 6 weeks when my milk supply became established. Talk to your HV and look at the threads in Feeding on MN. The other trick is to try pumping but if you barely get a break between feeds then it's probably not feasible atm. The main thing is to bear in mind that it won't last forever, although it feels like it does. And it is worth it - do hang in there if you can. Is anybody else on your PN thread having similar problems? There are/were several on ours and it helps to know that you're not alone. Good luck!
Mollie Hope your hangover is better I'm going to my Mum's for NYE for a traditional 4h French dinner so that will be nice. DH is working lates this week and doesn't know when he'll be home so I figured I might as well go round to see my Mum,gran and aunt and they'll be delighted to see Elise
Sparkly Good idea to start investigations - it helps to feel that you're doing something IYSWIM. I'm sure DP will be happy to go along with whatever you want.
Kate I also like the first shoes best
Ei Sorry about BFN
Hello to everyone else!

mibbes · 28/12/2008 20:49

cricri bless you for posting all of that. I had a bit of a meltdown and DP is being supportive. Since I posted DS has been more settled so am feeling far better about things - he had a big 3 hour sleep - phewey ! He is being a grump now but DP dealing with him to give me a break. I will look at the advice you linked to. I am concerned he is not getting enough hind milk as no poos for over 24 hours which is apparently not great when he is still so young - must have a good look at the BF threads on here....

apologies for being so me me ladies...

Ei so sorry for BFN - hugs missus xx I know it means you can have some bubbly on NYE but I'm sure that is a very small consolation.

Sparkly good idea taking positive action and going private - what does DH say about it ?

Kate have you managed to keep your secret ?...

NYE in the mibbes householod will be very tame - just the 3 of us. What a change, we are usually terribly drunk with friends and up until the wee small hours ! If I'm up in the middle of the night this year it will be because I am BFing/settling Evan !

WhenFRUITYgotstuckupthechimney · 29/12/2008 08:57

Morning all

Well, it seems as though you all had a great Christmas.
Sorry haven't been around. DS got so many presents but once he had finished unwrapping them all he was straight on the bloody laptop playing games on Nick Junior. He's been doing it ever since and this is the 1st time I've had a chance to get on here. Not sure I like being dictated to by a 3 yr old but I can't bare the fight right now.

I've been exhausted because DP (having put weight on) snores all through the night. I've had to climb into DS's bed most nights.
I slept in until 10.30 yesterday Very unlike me, felt groggy all day too.

We went to see Cinderella at Wimbledon theatre yesterday. It was really good. Had G-g-g-g-gareth Gates , Joanna Page (from Gavin and Stacey) and Alistair McGowan. Joanna Page wasn't very good at singing but show was fun. DS complained all the way through because he spotted a Slush Puppy machine on the way in and I said he couldn't have any. So, all the way through the performance he was moaning about wanting "Blue Juice" I'm sorry, but anything that is coloured flourescent blue is not passing the lips of my child! Been there once before and it wasn't good!

Sparkly So sorry about AF. I was so sure one of you would get a BFP for Christmas I think it's a very good idea to go for private investigations. Did DD have a wonderful Christmas? Was she spoilt rotten?

Mibbes Keep up with the BFing, I gave up after 5 weeks as DS wasn't putting on enough weight - not entirely sure I took the right advice. I really really regret it now and am going to persevere as much as is humanly possible this time around. I think it's very normal for BF babies not to poo much. Sometimes they can go for a week without a poo. Something to do with breast milk being so good for them that there is barely any waste.
I'm looking for a baby changing bag at the moment and remember you had a lovely one. Where did you get it from? I found a lovely one and was hoping it would be reduced in the sale but it's still £140 I want something that looks like a nice leather handbag and not a cutesy flouncy changing bag. I know yours looks like a lovely handbag doesn't it?

Kate Those shoes are adorable, I agree with everyone else, the 1st ones are the best ones
Cricri Looking forward to seeing Elise in her party frock!
Mollie great to here you were hungover What are your plans for New Year? Hopefully you will be nursing a hangover then too? - Not sure I'll be doing a lot for New Year, I'm sure I'll be asleep on the sofa then woken at midnight for a glass of champers.

OMG! DS is talking about "Blue Juice" again! will that child ever forget about it?
Just gonna update myself while I remember, I can't believe I only have 12 weeks to go - plus the extra 2 weeks for being late of course

Bella Yes you're right, he has been a pain. I wasn't sure if it was just because he's a man though - always thought I'd give him the benefit of the doubt, maybe it's not that at all - bit late now anyway!
Teehee I'd love to check out the Mamas and Papas website but I'm so broke it hurts Bought a few bits at the M&S sale though. MIL got me another 20% off so that was nice - Button has quite a collection now, gonna get the bugaboo out the loft today to clean it up, I'm praying that it hasn't been eaten by mice

Right, I think this post is quite long enough!
Big waves to everyone I've missed!

SparklyPseudonym · 29/12/2008 10:32

Mollie How's the hangover today? No plans here for New Year...what about you? What womanly charms - you'll have to teach me .
Mibbes My DD did this too and I felt exactly the same. It's fairly normal though and I guess Evan is trying to establish your supply. DP used to give a top up feed to DD (of formula) so that I could have a little break. Is that something you would consider doing? It will get better - it's so hard when you're going through it though. Talk to your health visitor if you're worried about the poos....I'm not sure about the fore/hind milk question but DD would often throw up after a feed because she had taken too much fore milk (according to HV) and I was changing sides and needed to make sure boob 1 was completely empty before offering the other. I don't know how much of a myth the fore/hind milk thing is though as I remember seeing something on here before - def worth posting on breastfeeding. Really hope things are better today.
Cricri Am glad you had such a lovely day. Can't wait to see the pics of the party dress (without the poo though ).
Fruity There you are!! DD was totally spoilt and keeps telling everyone that Father Christmas didn't come to our house . She's sat holding a tin of chocs and is asking lots and lots and lots of questions about them. She is desperate to eat one but she doesn't blinking ask; she just waits and talks and waits and talks....

I took DD to a play centre this morning and then Mollie texted to say she was in Cardiff so we met for lunch. It was lovely .

OP posts:
WhenFRUITYgotstuckupthechimney · 29/12/2008 16:44

I'm here Sparkly!
That's so lovely! So pleased as most of us seem to be nearer London. Feel like you miss out a bit.
I think you need a London fix soon, DS would love to see DD again

hohoholaydee · 29/12/2008 17:32

I'm here too - my laptop is not connecting to the internet again so am on DP's and he has just walked in the room to use it - typical.

Sparkly That is lovely that you and Mollie met up. What a great suprise. Did you both natter for England. Good idea to be proactive with investigations, men are a bit slow with that kind of thing aren't they. Even if it just makes you feel better it's worth it.

Fruity My DP has also taken to snoring as he has put on weight, which he keeps moaning about but not actually doing anything about (still drinking and eating for England) It is so irritating as my sleeping seems to be getting worse. My plan is to kick him out of bed rather than the other way round. Think I saw some leather changing bags in Blooming Marvellous for half price - still £70 quid though but v/nice. Can't believe Button has a collection - Sticky has nothing, except a cot bumper (no cot though-minor detail)

Kate Did you make it to the cinema? or anywhere else for that matter. Is all Ok with you and your ever expanding belly?

Cricri Sounds like a great Christmas and New Year and glad to hear tht Elise is a little less demanding now although 6 weeks of constant feeding sounds exhausting.

Mibbes Hang in there lovely - we will all cheer you on. Thank goodness for Cricri who is now wise and experienced. Hope it settles down soon.

DP getting impatient so hello to everyone else. xx

Oh - finally made bathroom blind and I must say it looks fab - slowly slowly coming together.

SparklyPseudonym · 29/12/2008 17:48

There you are . Where is Kate? I miss her.....
Teehe What makes you think we talked A LOT ? Yes, we had a very good chat. Still haven't talked to DP about investigations (mollie will tell you that he just pretends to listen to me most of the time anyway) so maybe I'll do it later.
Fruity We're off to Paris in Feb so we'll be stopping in London enroute

OP posts:
WhenFRUITYgotstuckupthechimney · 29/12/2008 19:10

Really Sparkly? Oh I hope so! I'll be looking forward to Feb then

Teehee Just tried to look on Blooming Marvellous website but it's down atm I've only really just got Button's collection started. He got a few little bits from friends and family for Christmas (mad people buying unborn baby xmas presents ) You should take full advantage of the sales to get some bits together for Sticky
About the snoring, it's so much easier for me to sleep elsewhere, or it's a major row in the middle of the night. Trying to keep the peace as much as possible at the moment,

Right, gotta kiss DS g'night

HeyThereSantasGirl · 29/12/2008 19:40

My darling father has been de-fragging the lap top and of course it's gone tits up. Not sure how long I've got before it has another breakdown. So just wanted to say happy, happy christmas and a very peaceful and prosperous new year. Had a very lovely christmas. Mollie and Libby spoilt rotton. DH and I knackered!

Will try and catch up more tomorrow.

In the meantime, hunker down with Quality Street and nibbles and enjoy the season of goodwill. xxxxxxxxxxx

HerNameWasSanta · 29/12/2008 20:46

Here I am Sparkly! Am very of yours and Mollie's meet-up, would have loved a girly lunch in Cardiff, prob a bit far though!

All good here (as far as I know), thank you Teehee, though I'm painfully aware that the first time I had any spotting last time was at 5+5 which will be New Year's Day... I know there is no reason to think history will repeat itself, but with both pg's I've had spotting within 2 weeks of the +ve test... It will be 2 weeks on Thursday. Though I'm trying not to think about it. (As you can see! ) (mememememe )

Went to see my fab acupuncturist today which was good. Would quite like to see her every day! Have booked another one for the sat after my scan when if my dates are right I should be exactly 8 weeks.

Is everyone else FREEZING at the moment?Don't know why we haven't lit the fire tonight. Foolish.

Fruity good to hear from you! How were DP & the ILs over christmas? Hope it wasn't too stressful for you and button.

Mibbes I can't really imagine what it must be like with the bf, but I'm so glad there are so many ladies here who know exactly what you're going through. I bet the bf threads are fantastic too. Hope you've found the support you need

Cricri you are a very wise mummy now Hope you have a lovely time of NYE, shame DH has to work. Same with mine. They're SO busy at the moment it's unbelievable. Always the same at this time of year... ANYWAY...!

Mollie I sent you a message on fb, did you get it? xx

You naughty naughty ladies have just made me log on to the blooming marvellous website, when I'd promised myself I'd stay away from such places for many many weeks yet You're right though, it isn't working. So I had to go on the jojo maman bebe website instead Fruity isn't it you who has a friend who works there (staff discount?? ) They didn't have many of the type I think you want, but I thought this one looked quite good, what do you think? I only like it in the black though.

Have any of you tried M&S Thai Green Chicken fresh soup? YUM YUM YUM. Think I'll have to go and get some more. They're on BOGO 1/2 price atm...

Molliemooma · 29/12/2008 21:15

Finally got back from Cardiff, DH wanted to go shopping after we met Sparkly so didn't leave til 5.30pm, it was 7.00pm by the time we got back and we had tea in a pub and he's now gone off to watch footie (he doesn't even like it! Any excuse for a pint! )
Well for those of you who have yet to meet her Sparkly is as lovely in the flesh as she is on here! Had a lovely time today really cheered me up and I could have eaten your DD!

Mibbes Oh my sounds like you're having a trauma with BFing, at least you can get loads of support on here and all the experienced ones can let you know the deal. Really hope Evan sorts it out soon for you, you must be shattered!
CriCri Glad you had a lovely Christmas can't wait to see new pictures of Elise especially in her party dress!
Fruity Oh dear slush puppy's - yuck! Can't believe you have to fight your 3 yr old for the laptop, there's no hope as he gets older then I hope DP has been behaving for you over the festive period (well apart from the snoring)
TeeHee I'm impressed with your blind making skills, I'd like mine in a stone grey colour please! By the way Sparkly and I didn't chat for England as I couldn't get a word in edgeways!!!
Georgie Hope your Dad gets the laptop sorted soon, have you heard about your MFI deposit yet?
Kate Yes I too am absolutely freezing, doesn't help when DH announces just as I'm about to go home tonight that he turned the heating off last night and not onto timer so the house is like an icebox! I have got your message on FB and will text you so you have my number too, thanks Nice bag you found

Mollie waves to everyone else as her fingers freeze on the keyboard

WhenFRUITYgotstuckupthechimney · 29/12/2008 21:44

Hey Kate I saw that handbag. It's really nice but I still prefer the one I originally saw. Can't remember if I showed it to you or not but here it is Sooooo expensive

Mollie I agree, Sparkly's DD is delicious! I think my DS agrees too

mibbes · 29/12/2008 22:53

Dammit - twice now I have lost posts - wee man on my knee so tricky to type one-handed...

Anyway, thanks for kind words, all far better now as am expecting to have to feed heaps so somehow that helps me cope, hope this phase passes soon though as barely had any sleep last night. Oh and the poo finally landed big stylie !!! Only a bath could clean all that yellow sludge from the wee poppet !!!

anyway, changing bags - oooh a fave topic of mine . I really liked the Julie too and think it was reduced pre-xmas in Blooming Marvellous. Only issue is that it is a lot of money for a partially leather bag. Mine is the Lin & Leo (red) which you can buy from their own website or Blooming Marvellous - the pink and turquoise ones were defo reduced to £100 (from 140) in pre-xmas sale, also look in PG mags as you can nearly always get 15-20% off BM on top of sale price.... DP bought me the wee leather makeup bag to go with my lin and leo after the birth . I am loving my bag, it is biggish (but not as bulky as most changing bags) but has to be as there is a whole load of stuff to cram in there, esp with mummy's makeup bag in there too

Hi ladies

Back to the top for me All good though, brought DH to the doctor today cause of his on going man flu (yes the dreaded man flu ) but she ended up talking about our ttc problems for the whole visit and wants me to go back on the clomid again for 6 months she also is getting dh tested again cause the last time he got a SA he was with another doc and she said she would like to see the results for herself.

Sparkly have you looked into getting private investigations yet?

Morning all

I forgot to ask you wise ladies last night: nail varnish?? Yes or no??

Piper sorry to see you back at the top but glad your GP is supportive. How long have you been trying for now if you don't mind me asking? I didn't realise Clomid had nasty side effects, think I just naively thought it was some sort of wonder drug... Hope it works for you this time round

Mollie I fell asleep mid texting last night Sorry! Woke up in the night and the bloomin thing was flashing at me! Will get back to you in a mo. Hope you've warned up now. I've just got up (another ) and our house is cold enough with the heating having been off for a couple of hours. Have just switched it on full blast, we'll just have to economise in other areas!

Fruity I prefer your bag too, but at the price! Mind you, we realy have to look at these things on a price per use basis don't we, so maybe it's not so bad
