mibbes Evan is beautiful!!! You must v=be so happy.

Mollie How many cats do you have? I have two little beauties; named as my sign in suggests Bella and Harry aaaw! The aches and cramps have stopped now, I just feel fat and constipated! all of my work trousers are too tight and make me want to chuck when i sit down! Not complaining though I'll go through anything it's worth it.

fruity I finish for Christmas on Fri 19th, would love to catch up over Christmas; when you free?

Just had to buy a new dress for the Christmas do to accomodate my fat middle and unexpectedly firm breasts! Love it!!

Hope all are well? Festive cheer and all that

Wow overload!!!

Today I feel sick as a dog! I'm trying to teach year 8 at the moment (whilst posting a message! ooh naughty!) whilst holding back vom!!! This is gross..any tips?

Blllaughh!!!

MerryCRICRIstmas · 08/12/2008 10:42

Hi ladies Hope you all had good weekends. We went out for lunch for my Mum's birthday yesterday and within 15 minutes of arriving Elise had brought up her lunch over herself so I had to change her. Later at my mum's she did a massive explosive pooh which the nappy couldn't contain so we had to do another change! Fortunately I'd learnt my lesson after the same thing happened 2 weeks ago so had 2 spare changes of clothes in the change bags. I'm beginning to think it might be wise to take 3 next time
Georgie Slings are definitely the way to go - really handy both for BF and carrying baby around. Your food choices sound as good as mine when I was pg - cheesy rice every night nearly for 4 weeks!
Bella I found the acupressure bands (from Boots) worked quite well for me and relieved some of the nausea. Not completely though and I sympathize because it's horrible
Ei Good luck - I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you
Teehee The school reunion sounds fun. Glad you had a lovely weekend in the end.
Mollie Nookie rather than BDing is always good - less pressure. Elise was conceived the month I ditched the OPKs and decided to stop obsessing about it all
Scully Hope you're feeling better and have managed to have words with DH.
Kate Hope you had a good weekend away.
Sparkly Hope you're feeling better today
No sign of Fruity? Perhaps she decided to stay in that amazing house!

BellaHarry · 08/12/2008 12:07

Cheers cricri anything's worth a try! It's eased of for now

FruitynNutty · 08/12/2008 13:50

I'm here, I'm here!

Had a really busy but right dull morning. Had thyroid consultant at 9:30 (all fine) and DS had GP at 10:50. Poor mindees were strapped in the buggy for the whole morning but very very well behaved, didn't complain one bit, thank the lord!
Poor DS has been struck down with Manflu.
I took him to GP as he was complaining of a sore ear and sore neck and back but no sign of infection so it's just a good old cold which, obviously being male, he just cannot cope with
I asked him this morning how he was feeling, he said "Happy" so I said, "How are your ears?" he said "They are sad" I thought that was so cute. I wouldn't have bothered taking him if I'd known it was just a bleedin cold! Anyway, he's sitting on the sofa with his duvet and pillow and watching a DVD

Bella Would love to meet up. I'll be a little quieter by then (mindee wise) as baby mindee doesn't come to me in the hols. I'll let you know what days are best nearer the time. Probably Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Sorry, no experience with MS as I never had it but how about the usual ginger biccies/cream crackers? Anything dry I imagine.
I got a little nauseous but nothing too bad, I found that the more I ate, the less nauseous I was.

Ei well, Jack seems to be the one we all like at the moment and the name would have been on the list for DS had we not already been absolutely certain of his name.
DP is now suggesting Jacob/Jake but I don't wanna give birth to a Tweenie thank you very much

Oh dear Cricri* welcome to the wonderful world of parenthood, not all sweetness and light I'm afraid It's all worth it though isn't it

I've just uploaded the latest pic of my gigantic tummy. Only 25 weeks too, this is getting very very worrying.
I've got my 4D scan on Saturday morning, really looking forward to that . I'll make sure I post the pictures asap!

Emmsy1 · 08/12/2008 15:02

Ei that would be great! My lot do love wacky WH, Silly Billys,Minnie Monsters etc...
I would prefer to pay for my own kiddies though as these parties can be expensive enough with out inviting extra Tom,Dick & Harry's, you will have to let me know the details when you have decided where you are going to have DD's party

Another run to doc's this morning, this time with my oldest boy, he was crying on Saturday pm with pains in his side, but within 15 mins they were gone, anyway he is still getting twinges & thought it best to get him checked over. Doc thinks he has 'grumbling appendix' as when she pressed his tum it hurt. (But when she tapped it, it didn't?) I have been told that if pain happens again as bad as it was on Saturday I am to take him straight to A&E. It will probably happen on christmas eve or christmas day knowing my luck Touch wood it will settle down, don't really know much about the condition so we will just have to wait & see.

sparkly I'm hoping to have a little hangover on christmas day, I traditionally
have a few X-large Baileys on Christmas eve, when I have finished my 'Santa role' can't wait
mibbes baby Evan is adorable XXXX
Hello to fruity scully cricri THLD mollie kate Georgie Bella and piper hope I haven't missed anyone X

kate2179 · 08/12/2008 20:22

Evening

I don't stand a chance of catching up with you all properly, but I'll do my best

Fruity Loving the new bump pic, are you facing the other way in this one cos the other side of your bump still says 22 weeks on it? I can't believe how much bigger you've got in 3 weeks! Am VERY

Mibbes your little boy is absolutely GORGEOUS!!!! Am going to log on to fb in a minute in the search for more photos! I'm so pleased for you! My turn soon pleeeeeeease?

Hello to my lovely cycle buddies Sounds like you've all ov'd already. How about you Sparkly? I think we might have missed the boat this month [gutted-emoticon] I was all ready to go-go-go for day 18, same as the last few months, but judging from some surprise EWCM I think I might have ov'd on Friday or Saturday, which is VERY bad news. No action wednesday or thursday due to late nights because of work, then we were away on Friday. Sadly it wasn't a dirty weekend (you filthy little minxes ) we went to stay with DH's old boss and his gf and on Friday night the two of them got ABSOLUTELY RUINED After dinner they got back on the whisky. AND FINISHED THE BLOODY BOTTLE. He was gross and I was furious. Not only due to his timning, but because (a) we hadn't seen them for AAAAGES and he had to be an arse, (b) here I am spending a fortune, having acupuncture and taking every supplement known to man, while he DESTROYS his swimmers, and (c) he was really irritating ()
He was very sorry in the morning which was just as well good
I took my temp this morning and I'm not sure so I'll keep taking it for the next few days to see. One thing's for sure though, January's going to be operation napalm!

Cricri Hope you enjoyed your mum's birthday! Was it her first birthday as a grandma? Awwwwwwww. How fab.

Emmsy sorry to hear Amy's been unwell. I Hope your dc's christmas presents grant you a well earned break, even if it only lasts a few weeks! Really lovely to hear from you

Sparkly I wish I lived a bit closer, a huge Cardiff new year p*ss up for all the non pg people sounds FAB! Although I've banned DH from drinking, or at least from getting drunk, from 1st January til I get pg... Not holding out a great deal of hope on that one, but I suppose I'd better join him! Although if he knows what's good for him he'll do just fine...

Well I know I haven't got everyone, but this post is ridiculously long already DH is at work, and I'm STARVING!!! Might go and get some christmas decs out to take my mind off my big fat tummy...

Oooo, bit of advice please! We have 4 friends coming for dinner next saturday and 2 of them have a little boy who was born at the beginning of may. Since asking them we've found out that he doesn't really go to bed during the evening, they put him down then if/when he cries they get him up and he stays up with them for the evening then goes to bed with them.... Which will go down like a bucket of poo with our other friends who got married in September and don't really like children (clever me for inviting them together huh? ) So shall I say anything, and if so what? I don't want our other friends not to enjoy it because there's a baby at the dinner table all night... (and if I'm totally honest I'd rather he wasn't at the table either...) I expect it will all be fine, but... Not a big deal I know, but a niggle all the same. Oh well!

Have a lovely evening ladies

MollieandtheIvy · 08/12/2008 21:01

EI What a fantastic idea, I'm well up for a night out in Cardiff Good luck on your 2WW. By the way I like Georgietherednosedreindeer
Sparkly Have you finally recovered from your hangover?
Fruity Lovely bump Hope DS feels better soon, very cute description of his poorlyness
CriCri Loving the Christmas name, sounds as if Elise is keeping your on your toes, it's definately a messy business this motherhood malarky!
Emmsy Sorry to hear your DS is poorly too, it will be sods law something will happen at Christmas
Kate Hello stranger Not sure what to suggest about your dinner dilemma, cancel the baby ones?? Not very helpful I know! How about locking him away in a cellar Is he cute, shall I come and babysit, I could kidnap him sit in another room with him?

I have my consultants appt tomorrow, not expecting much, but I do have a list of questions and some printed info, so look out!

Bella I have two cats, a white one called Mollie (hence my name) and a black one called Jack, they are my surrogate children, so will get their noses put out when I am eventually "with child" I found the travel sickness bands invaluable, definately worked for me

SparklyPseudonym · 08/12/2008 21:03

Hello you lot,
Sorry for not coming back on Sunday - we went to the cinema and I couldn't wait to go to bed. Am feeling lots better today but have sooo much to catch up on.
Suspect I may be ovulating because like ei(LMAO) I've had lots of EWCM (I think) but I'm not convinced because of the brown bleeding a week a go.
Kate Fingers crossed that you haven't missed OV. I'm trying to stay away from the BBT to reduce obsessing but I'm not sure it works...I would maybe warn your friends who don't like children that there's a chance the baby might be up whilst your eating...it's really hard to relax when there's a child around. Lots of luck.
Emmsy It is so lovely to see you. Baileys at Christmas is fab. How are you feeling? Have you had a chance to take it easy at all? xxx
Fruity I hope your DS is feeling better tomorrow. Lovely new bumpy pic.
Cricri Lovely new xmas name. I remember those days with DD. DP commented today that I used to take the kitchen sink with me when DD was a baby but you need so many things...
Ei You go girl . Would be fantastic to see you with a Christmas BFP. I'm working until Feb but we should def get together after then.
Teehee When are you going to post some bump pics? Get a move on .
HTGG Am relieved to hear you're not eating all of those things at the same time. Hope the MS starts to ease soon.
Scully How are you feeling today? Hope it's a bit cooler.
Mibbes How are you feeling lovely? Are you still sore from the section? How is Evan behaving?
Mollie Where are you missy? When is your consultant appointment? You did tell me but I've forgotten (sorry . xxx
Bella A new dress already? . Are you starting to show so soon?

hohoholaydee · 08/12/2008 21:38

Hey girls, lots to catch up on, it's been nice and chatty today.

Sparkly what did you see at the cinema? Or were you just slumped in the dark enjoying your hangover. Yes I know I have been a slacker in the picture department but I do rely on DP for the technical help and he is in OFFSTEAD hell so I am steering well clear. Really he has hardly held a conversation with anyone for 2 days - that'll teach him for not keeping up with his marking!
Emmsy Another post from you - yey, does this mean that things are calming a little. of the Baileys TBH. Fingers crossed that DS doesn't have anything that's going to need a dash to emergency.
Ei Am getting the baby pom poms and jazz hands out ready - you could be our first BFP of 2009 .
Kate Hello stranger. Little advice for the dinner, except maybe a bit of forewarning for the childless ones. Do you think they'll try and get the little one to stay in bed. A bit arkward when you are out for the evening I should think.
Bella MS - ah how I remember those days well - every flippin day for weeks. I found the travel bands good and salt & vinegar crisps and generally not allowing yourself to get hungry but I still used to get up and throw up first thing - just got used to it in the end.
Cricri Love the christmas name. So, you're finding motherhood extremely glamorous then? Come on now J-Lo managed it with twins and I don't think she had 5 nannies!
Fruity Am excited for you for Saturday. 25 weeks- it's all so exciting. v/cute comment from DS .

Hello to everyone else - I must go though as falling asleep and need to look at heaters on internet. See you all tomorrow.

DingDongMerrilyOnEI · 08/12/2008 22:16

hi ladies
mollie good luck for tomorrow i hope your consultant has some answers for you xxx
sparkly we might be ov buddies
cricri a similar thing happened to us when our DD was small we were at the weigh-in at the health centre and had left the nappy bag in the car somewhat stupidly so DD decided to do the biggest runniest breastmilk poo ever!! all over the scales and the hv's hand she looked mortified and didnt have to ask about her bowel movements that session
fruity my word you are blooming fwiw i was measuring 2-3 cm higher throughout my preg with DD and it turned out to be tonnes of water and an 8lb 12oz baby try not to worry too much maybe ask the 4d scanner to look at the weight while hes there
bella i found flat lemonade and dry toast to be of help with my horrendous MS also ginger nuts and boiled sweets eat what you feel like not what you think you should be eating and it will pass soon enough
hello to everyone else not mentioned
xx ei xx

kate2179 · 09/12/2008 13:08

Just a quick post to say good luck to Mollie for later, sounds like a really good plan to have a list of questions. Please let us know how you get on, and don't take any sh5t! Lots of love xx

BellaHarry · 09/12/2008 13:32

Lots of activity recently! Lovely!

Right now the Art department downstairs are using spray paints and have been for 2 hours so I have a banging headache from the fumes!!!

Mollie I'm starting to worry about rejecting my little darlings when baby comes along, they have been my children so far, especially the kitten he's so needy and suckles my ear lobe! Gross I know but I feel bad that he was ripped from his mother! I don't thing this can continue though not hygenic to say the least!!

Sparkly It's not so much that I am 'showing' but more that I usually eat very little and exercise a lot and am scared to exercise so early (problems with cervix) and get sick if I don't eat lots so what has actually happened is I am now a little plump, and have breasts for the first time in my life!! Yay! Can't wait for a bump though..a reason too look fat!

HoHo Sick every morning yuck!I'm not that bad yet I try to eat often but I'm a tacher so whenever I pop something in my mouth one of the kids churps up with "you're not allowed to eat in class" and makes me feel guilty...Grrrr

DingDong I have noticed the dry toast idea, i read somewhere that aples are good too, though they make me burp! lol

HeyThereSantasGirl · 09/12/2008 18:45

Evening lovely ladies. Just got back from my scan and I'm 9+4 . All well with Pickle and we even saw it waving it's little stubby arm. Am actually allowing myself to get excited now.

Ei Thanks for the lovely name change suggestions. Have picked one as you can see.

Sparkly What did you see at the cinema? Am dying to go and see loads of films - Burn Before Reading, The Changling, new Ed Norton one. But think I might wait til out on DVD so can snuggle with DH and keep warm on cold winter evenings.

Fruity Was wondering when your 4D was. Where are you going? Have you heard anything good about Babybond in Norbury? Thinking of going there for 12 week scan. Sorry to hear that DS been ill. Fingers crossed you don't pick anything up.

Kate Good to have you back. Wow, you've been busy. Is DH out of the dog house yet?! Would maybe give your non parent friends a heads up about the baby. And if you can, try and ask for acurfew from the couple with the baby. Easier said than done, but hopefully everyone will be grown up to appreciate that not everyone wants the same thing! Good luck though!

Mollie Fingers crossed for you tomorrow. really hope it goes well, and as Kate said, don't take no prisoners! Let us know how it goes.

Bella Ei and TeeHee had some good advice. I've found that eating small portions of carbs has been really helpful. Pasta, bread, potatos, rice. Plain food works best. If all else fails then weetabix or cheerios are a life saver. Also, flat coke or lucozade. Don't worry about getting five a day. Just eat what you can keep down. You've got plenty of time to eat sensibly after the MS passes. Just try and take your vitamins.

CriCri Oh hon. I've so been there . The explosive poo, the projectile vom!!! It's bringing it all back. Least you're clever and have learnt from the first time it happened!

Mibbes How you holding up there?

Went to see my cousin today and her 10 day old DS2. He's just so adorable. And small. Had a lovely cuddle. And my friend had her DD on Sunday night. She's called Saskia Angelika which I think it a beautiful name.

Right off to read Mollie a story. Lots of love to all. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

MerryCRICRIstmas · 09/12/2008 20:25

Georgie Great news about the scan Glad you're starting to get a bit excited now. We went to Babybond for our 4D scan and they were wonderful. It probably depends on the sonographer you get as well but ours was fantastic.
Fruity Can't wait to see your 4D scan pics!
Mollie Good luck for tomorrow. Hope you get some answers to your questions.
Ei PMSL at the vision you conjured up with the description of your DD poohing on the HV's scales We've got the HV coming round tomorrow morning to weigh LO so hopefully Elise will behave herself!
Bella Hope your headache is better. Our surrogate child cat has been great since Elise's birth. We didn't think he'd react too well but he's been fine. Not interested in her at all and not bothered by her crying. At night he still sleeps with us on the bed. I feel a bit bad that he's not getting quite as much attention from me as before but I try to give him what I can. I've seen a few threads on here with people saying their feelings towards their cats changed during and after pregnancy but I can't say that's been the case for me.
Kate What a dilemma. At the moment DH and I would be the couple with the nightmare baby who refuses to settle for the night so I sympathise. I'd warn the other couple. Hopefully everything will go OK but baby may be unsettled by strange surroundings so may be joining in the dinner party
Teehee Hope you managed to find your heaters!
Our extension is nearly finished Toilet in the shower room is operational - keep having to remember I don't need to go upstairs anymore! Utility room looks good with units etc. Just the finishing touches to go now and also installing basin and shower screen. Hope your building project is going OK now Georgie Sparkly Glad you're feeling better and hope you enjoyed the cinema
I guess Mibbes is busy getting to grips with managing a baby at the moment hence the lack of posting! Hopefully things will be under control soon and she can grab 5 minutes on MN!
No news from Scully? Hope you're OK and not suffering with ms too much especially in the heat.
Hello to anybody I've missed.

SparklyPseudonym · 09/12/2008 21:02

Evening ladies,
My best friend just texted to tell me she's pregnant....am vey excited for her but also a bit . I don't want to feel this way but I know they've not been trying long at all and I feel like I've been waiting forever.....
Cricri How are you and your gorgeous girl?
HTGG Excellent news about your scan. Am so pleased for you. We went to see Madagasca - don't really get time for adult films (not the rude type) anymore.
Bella Will you be having a scan before 12 weeks?
Ei Pretty sure I haven't ovulated as temp was only 36.51 this am.
Teehee No excuses accepted . Hope your DP isn't too stressed.
Am off to phone mollie now to see how her appointment went (and to have a moan). xxx

OP posts:
FruitynNutty · 09/12/2008 21:13

Evening all

Emmsy How's DS now?

Kate All I can say is farking blardy men Wow, he really reminds me of my DP. What an arse. I hope he's still grovelling!
No idea how you're going to get around your little dinner party predicament, sorry.

Mollie How did the consultant appointment go?

Sparkly I hope you've been Bding like mad lady

Teehee Poor DP, I really feel for him cos I also have to deal with the wankers from Ofsted. Thank god I don't have the pleasure of a visit for another year or so. Still gotta make sure I have all my paper work done though - not easy when procrastination is my middle name (unusual I know )

Ei I think I carry a lot of water when preg. I certainly got an extreme case of Niagara Falls when I had DS. But I also make gigantic babies too, remember DS was 9lb 12 and they say they only get bigger [very very scared]
I've stupidly been reading scary birth stories on MN recently which are really making me think about going for a C-section. All that talk of tearing and double incontinence scares me to death. That's just barbaric. Why do we have to go through all this?

Georgie So pleased all well with Pickle I can't wait to get Pickle and Button together My friend has a 'Peanut'(real name Max) and we were discussing what it'd be like if they became great big rugby players with nick names like that Did you get any pictures?
I'm having my scan at The Norbury BabyBond. Why do you want the 12 week scan there? You know the best time for a 4d scan is between 26-18 weeks?

FruitynNutty · 09/12/2008 21:17

Ooh Sparkly crossed posts I think we can all completely understand what it's like when friends tell us they're pregnant. I still get that feeling now! Seems so unfair when we all try for such a long time

MerryCRICRIstmas · 09/12/2008 21:45

Sparkly We're fine thanks
As Fruity says, your feelings are totally normal under the circumstances. No need to feel bad about it, we all understand. It will happen for you soon - hang in there.
Oops, totally missed the fact that Mollie's appt was today Hope it went ok.

MollieandtheIvy · 09/12/2008 22:19

Georgie Loving the new name, and fantastic news about your scan, hope you post some pictures soon. So pleased you are starting to allow yourself to feel excited
Kate What have you decided about your friends?
Sparkly I know exactly how you feel, sorry I missed your call tonight, but we'll moan together about how life is so unfair tomorrow night instead
Fruity {gulp emoticon} That sounds really scary!

Thanks for all the messages girls, the appointment actually went a lot better than I expected. At least we got to see the consultant this time and not the registrar, I had been warned that he was abrupt and to the point, but oh my Anyway our appt was at 3.00pm and we left the hospital at 6.00pm he is notorious for running late! Although to be fair the last hour was just trying to get blood out of me Well he info gathered and then did an internal exam, an internal scan and as he had my legs in the air a smear too Nothing showed up on the scan, that's one tick, he asked for 4 more blood tests for me and a chromosome one for DH and I, (I think that's the one I'm silently dreading!) He advised me to lose weight, so really going to knuckle down (after christmas of course) and we're going back for results in approx 10 wks. I asked if we should hold off TTC until then he said it's up to us. So now I have the dilemma of not trying to get pg just in case we can stop another m/c, but if we get the all clear it's just wasted time. I think I want to wait, but will just see how it goes. Phew think that's enough info for now

FruitynNutty · 10/12/2008 09:20

Morning

Mollie I'm glad your appointment was so productive! It's about time you had some answers. Shame you had to be there so long.

Just realised a typo from me. I meant to write to Georgie: "You know the best time for a 4d scan is between 26-28 weeks?"

I'm stressed out and exhausted already this morning.

Baby mindee (8 months) came in this morning with a stinking poo (fair enough, I've changed enough nappies for them not to phase me too much).
However, this time it was a nappy which very obviously hadn't been changed at all this morning. He still had his night time nappy on. To top it off, his clothes were drenched and filthy. He had obviously been wearing the same clothes since Monday . On Monday he got pasta sauce all over them, Tuesday he came in the same clothes (which, imo, is bad enough) and today he was still wearing the same clothes! I get the feeling he's been sleeping in them too .
It was disgusting, it really was. He had no change of clothes so I had to climb into the loft to find some of DS's old baby clothes to put him into. I'm very tempted to give him a bath too , he needs one, his ears are especially filthy.
I know I should say something to the Mum but I don't know how to go about it.
Trouble is, his mum is really sweet and is always so grateful that I have him. She's also my next door neighbour.
I might copy and paste all that in the Childminders and Nannies section to see what they say.

Also, yesterday I had to go and do the weekly shopping myself as Tesco online website wasn't working. I'm never doing that again. Having to get all the bags from the car (typically no spaces right outside) to my flat (up a flight of stairs) nearly finished me off. I thought I was going to pass out. Now I know how much I rely on Tesco delivery service!

Anyway, I'm now relaxing as DP has a day off and has taken DS out this morning. Baby mindee (I think) is now asleep in his cot. I think I might go and start my Christmas card list....................

HeyThereSantasGirl · 10/12/2008 13:07

Just a quickie for Fruity. Want to get 12 week nuchal done at Babybond Norbury as given my age and the last two m/c's just want to make expecially sure that everything is ok. Not a 4D. Know it's too early. Will wait and saviour that one when it comes around!

Will be really intersted to see what you make of it.

More later. xxxxxx
