CONGRATULATIONS Mibbes Can't wait to see pictures of Evan, gorgeous name by the way. Sorry to hear things didn't go quite as planned, but so pleased you have your little miblet to cuddle, give him an extra squeeze from me
Georgie at your PIL, making you run around after you!! Give me their number and I'll ring and tell them off so they don't do it again! Hope you are feeling better?
Scully Sorry to hear about dd being so poorly, hope she perks up soon.
CriCri You keep impressing me with your new found motherhood skills, sounds like you are just taking everything in your stride. Just wait til you have another one
Sparkly Are you still getting cramps & spotting? Did you book an appt after with GP? Try and get a different one if you do
Fruity As you have no room at the inn, shall I look after your newbie for you when you give birth. You don't want to be bothering with all those nighttime feeds and nappy changes, I'll just have him for you Sorry to hear more of your RL friends are having baby problems, really hope things get better for all of them
Kate So glad you found your way back to MN, hope you feel a little brighter? Sending you a huge hug
TeeHee You sound a little better than the other day, are you still feeling ill? You know you can share your worries and problems with us and we promise not to get bored, please pretty please
EI Hope that cold gets better soon

Well no more "afternoon" delights from us, after having the cat watch us as well I just can't be bothered anymore to be fair I'm enjoying the break before we get back into obsessed BDing phase!

BellaHarry · 03/12/2008 21:43

Fruity so sorry to hear about your friend that sounds terrible. My friend had lots of problems with the little girl in the first was in and out of hospital all the time, it is unfair when people try so hard to get there that things don't go to plan!

CriCri thanks for that, it's so comforting to hear that I'm not the only person to get this.

Mibbes Big congratulations!

Last night was the last time I felt that twingy, crampy feeling it's been much better today but of course instead of being happy about that I'm now worrying that my 'pregnancy symptoms' are going?? OMG it is impossible to relax, from ttc to being a mum; it seems like there's always something to worry about! Sorry now I've bummed out the thread

Great to hear there's been a birth though! Yay! Lovely name too!

Over and out ladies

DingDongMerrilyOnEI · 03/12/2008 22:11

iv thought of another one fruity OcomeAllYeFRUITful
im still thinking of more aswell
xx ei xx

hohoholaydee · 03/12/2008 23:07

Been so busy today have not had chance to get on and wish Mibbes, Mr Mibbes and Miblet lots and lots of congratulations. A boy - the threads first boy, nicely balanced so far with Fruity's being the blue variety as well. Sorry to hear the birth was a bit traumatic but Kate said you are both fine so that's the main thing. You must be shell shocked but can't wait to hear how Mummy Mibbes is doing.

Ei Hope your cold is on the way out soon - loving the names for Fruity and Kate - my vote goes to OhcomeallyeFruitful and I'mdreamingofawhitekatemas I knew you would come up trumps

Mollie Are you sure you want the goreys - it was a nasty case of piles - oh my glamorous life!! Much better now. I hate it when the cats watch - they always look so disdainful and I imagine they are going to hold up scores for us at the end - Craig Revel Horwood stylie!! Kick them out of the room and get practising (or maybe get pissed and then get practising)

Bella You're right we are never satisfied are we? Either too many symptoms or not enough. I'd like to say you become more sane but after 21 weeks I've decided my sanity left the building along with my waistline.

Kate Hope Mibbes' news has helped chase the blues away.

Georgie Another poorly love - feeling so sorry for you but lol at cellulite from tits to toes - you have such a way with words. Is is even on your little toe?

Scully Imagine the heat is driving you and poor DD mad - hope the tweenies is taking the pain away. It's freezing here by the way, which is also pretty grim so again no pleasing us hey!

Must go to bed as so tired but had a lovely day off - got quite a bit of shopping done, hair cut and made to look pretty and then came home and made Brown sauce (which looks & tastes like BBQ sauce really- oh well) for homemade hamper for my brother's present. Big hello to anyone I missed - night night.

SparklyPseudonym · 04/12/2008 21:16

Hi ladies,
Have been lurking over the last few days due to work load.
Mibbes Congratulations!! Am sorry to hear that delivery didn't go to plan but very happy that you're all ok. Hope you're recovering nicely. Love the name too .
Teehee Can I still call you that now you've named changed? Are you feeling any better?
Mollie LOL at the cat watching you. As if that would stop you!! Brown still going strong. May see if I can get an appointment with female GP tomorrow. I know I need to see the doc but don't want to take time off .
HTGG Sorry to hear you've ot been feeling great. Has cold left? How is MS?
Fruity How is your friend's baby?
Ei Loving all these Christmas suggestions .
Kate Lovely to have you back. Thanks for putting my mind at rest. Am still losing old blood and slightly cramping...I feel ok in my self though. Not sure if EPU would speak to me because mc was 2 months a go?
Scully How is your DD today?

Hi to everyone else. xxx

mibbes well done lady, so pleased you have your beautiful baby boy Evan XXXXXXX

sorry I haven't been around for a while, Amy has had bronchiolitis but is much better now. The other children argue constantly to go on the laptop, so I really don't get much chance anymore. Hoping that from chistmas day I will get my beloved lap top back for a good while

I have no idea who has their bfp's and haven't got time to look at all the previous posts, I need to leave very soon to pick up I from pre-school (he has his own books to read now, key stage 1, he knows them off by heart so will have to buy more now!) sparkly think your best to go to the doc's hun, best to get it checked over, otherwise you will only worry your self sick, lots of love to you xxx

girls, I really do miss our chats, I'm sure that when the two oldest boys get their nintendo DS Lite's for christmas, I will get to chat more often, I do think of you all very much, and I am still intending to meet up with you Ei sometime after christmas, if that's ok with you? lots of festive love sent to you all XXXXXXXX

kate2179 · 05/12/2008 17:00

Hello ladies, sorry no time to catch up, been having a bit of a nightmare week... And now we're going away for the weekend! Yippee! But I will look forward to catching up with you all when we're back. Heard from Mibbes today btw, she's hoping to be home today or tomorrow, so I'll expect a full birth story and pictures of her new DS by the time I get back! Have a good weekend folks

mibbes · 05/12/2008 18:36

hey ladies - thank you so much for the lovely messages, the have made me all emotional (not that it takes much on day 3 post-birth !).

Here is the story: the contractions I had on the Tue morning stopped not long after I got up - must have been false labour - arrghhh ! Then went to hospital and got jump started with the gel - nothing after 6 hours (these are the reasons people suggest packing a pack of cards in labour bag - very boring). At 5pm they were going to break waters and put me on the syntocin drip but at last minute decided to try another dose of gel - after 2-3 hours it finally started which was a relief as really didn't want synotcin. Contractions quickly went from 5 mins apart to 1-1.5 mins apart and were really painful - used my TENS machine which was a good distrction from pain although didn't really reduce pain. Then at 11pm they examined me and to my horror I was only 1-2cm !!! I honestly thought I was well on the way . Anyway, they did a trace and noticed that baby not happy when I was contracting - Heartbeat was dipping a lot. MW pressed panic button and suddenly consultants arrived (I was pretty unaware of level of panic as just trying to breath through contractions), poor DP was terrifed as he could see how low HB was - they said if it dipped below 100 for too long it was bad and Evan's went down to 60 . Anyway, consultant wanted to break waters and couldn't find them so she asked for an immediate scan to done which showed that there were no waters ! The dribble of a leak I had was all there was !! No idea what had happened there but I defo didn'tleak any more so presumably there wasn't a lot there in the first place. So at this point they decided they had to get him out quickly, so was prep'd for theatre and before I knew it I'd had a spinal block and they whipped out a wee screaming boy ! Turns out he had the cord around his neck so another reason for low HB. It seemed like an age before I saw him but DP could see him and assured me he was fine - then he was laid on my chest and just lay there staring and DP and I - he is absolutely gorgeous , perfect in every way. He is the most angelic wee thing, he barely squeaks and is sooooo cute ! Ha ha check out the proud mummy ! Anyway, BF hasn't worked out for me which I'm gutted about but it is a relief to see him glug down the formula. Got home this afternoon and have been watching DP feed and change him - so lovely for them to have a proper chance to bond now that we are home - am so happy [blub emoticon]

Will post photos soon

MollieandtheIvy · 05/12/2008 19:00

Oh Mibbes I have a very damp keyboard, but it's happy crying, not sad although you pulled my heartstrings a little bit with the obvious love you and DP are feeling for Evan I want that!!!
So pleased it all turned out ok in the end, although not quite as you planned. Can't wait to see the photo's I promise not to cry again! Lovely to "see" you on here so soon, take care and please give Evan a little cuddle and a kiss from me x

MollieandtheIvy · 05/12/2008 19:30

Ok I'm back under control now so will finish posting
Emmsy Hope you have a lovely christmas with your family and Amy enjoys her first one. Sorry to hear she's been poorly. Hope to see you back in the world of MN a little more in the New Year once the kids are distracted with their new toys!
Kate Hello lovely lady, have a wonderful weekend away and I want all the gossip when you get back
Sparkly Have you booked an appt?
Fruity How are you and your big bump
Bella Any more pains or symptoms?
CriCri How are you and the lovely Elise doing?
Scully Hope DD is fully recovered now
Georgie I really hope you have been putting your feet up this week
TeeHee Piles Ouch! I have heard this is one of the joys you can look forward too, hope I miss that one out!
You seem to be getting it all at the moment, keep smiling and keep focussing on the end "product" it will be SO worth it
EI Is DH home again tonight? Bet his luck is in!

Well my DH is in Sheffield at a concert tonight so I have a big king size bed all to myself and I can't wait! I might share it with the cats (especially as there will be nothing to give me marks out of ten for!)

Have a good weekend all, although I'm sure I'll be back on here tomorrow !

hohoholaydee · 05/12/2008 19:55

Mibbes You nearly had me in tears as it all sounds so lovely (apart from the rather scary birth which nearly had me in tears for other reasons) It is great that you are home and lovely that DP is enjoying his time with Evan (love the name) before he has to go back to work. Hope his involvement means you will be able to sneak onto MN for us to coo and aah and blub. Are you still in shock?

Emmsy I was only thinking of you yesterday and thinking it had been a while since you dropped in. Great to 'see' you. We miss you too. Sorry things sound a bit fractuous at the moment, as you say Christmas might keep them amused for a while.

Sparkly Get thee to a doctors missus. Hope you are enjoying the work though as it seems you are busy.

Fruity Forgot to say the other day. Hope your friend is OK. Does seem to be one thing after another. Hope your not letting you get to you and you are taking care of bumpy. I say go for the biscuits!

Mollie That sounds like a lovely night - big bed, TV, nice food, cats - might be my Friday night as well I think. Yes you're right piles- most unpleasant but loads better and feeling more like myself.

DP found out yesterday that he has Offsted on Tues so I will basically see nothing of him all weekend as he prepares himself - great! Found out today that as well as being able to take ALL my holiday b4 mat leave can also take BANK HOLS! So finishing work on the 23rd Jan (my horrible boss doesn't know yet - can't wait to tell her ).

LOVING the santa hats!!

FruitynNutty · 05/12/2008 20:24

Hi guys

MIBBES!!!!!! So pleased to hear from you! Wow, what a birth story At least you're all fit and well now though. I bet it was all worth it. I bet yu can't believe you're a Mum, I still can't believe it and DS is 3.5!
I cannot wait to see the pictures of our 1st little boy
Congratulations again and well done you! xx xx

Emmsy So lovely to hear from you, and poor little Amy I'm glad she's better now though. Tell the other children to get stuffed, it's your laptop and you have important business to attend to They are gonna love their DS Lites!

Thanks all for asking about my friend's baby. She seems to be improving slightly. I spoke to her on Thursday morning and she said baby was off oxygen for the whole night which is good. She said they are going to 'blue light' her to Great Ormond Street to do some more tests on her.
My friend's sister showed me a picture of the baby all wired up, she had a special hat thing on with hundred of wires attached to it. Sad but also quite funny as she had her thumb in her mouth in amongst all the wires and tubes as if saying "F* all this, I'm having my thumb whether you like it or not!"

I am babysitting at the moment, been given permission to use the laptop! I didn't ask, she just offered, so I'm taking full advantage. You really wouldn't believe this place I'm in. It is like something out of Grand Designs, Truly amazing! I can't even begin to describe what this place is like. The most modern place I've ever seen.
I've had to put my microwave lasagne in the steam oven which I cannot seem to get right. The mother said to put it in for double the time but it's been in ages and still not hot enough in the middle I'm sure I'm doing something wrong.
When I walked in, I was asked to take my shoes off (fair enough) and was given a pair of slippers! There's not even any carpet, so not sure what that's about. Mother seemed very sweet though. I'm desperate to have a look around the place! There's this garden type room with a small triangle pool/spa. It looks like another room but there's no roof.
Maybe I'll go and have a nosey upstairs.............................

FruitynNutty · 05/12/2008 20:48

Darn it, it's too dark to see up there. I'm too scared to touch any switches in case they aren't light switches.
Still, I managed to work out the steam oven

cricri · 05/12/2008 21:26

Mibbes So pleased you're home with little Evan - sounds like everything is going well for you all. Enjoy your "babymoon" as it goes all too quickly! Hope you make a swift recovery from the cs too - sounded rather hairy but the end result is worth it Can't wait to see the photos
Emmsy Good to see you and glad all is going well and that Amy is on the mend. Several babies on my PN thread have had bronchiolitis - sounds scary We miss you lots too. Hope you get your laptop back after Christmas!
Mollie Enjoy your night on your own. DH has been on nights this week and I love having the bed to myself! Well, not quite to myself because the cat usually joins me and this week I've had Elise in there too - it's been rather crowded!
Fruity Sounds like you're in an amazing house! Hope you're being paid lots for your babysitting services
Elise and I went out for a girlie lunch yesterday with our NCT group. I think the restaurant staff were a bit anxious about 7 babies and their prams (we'd booked and warned them!) but as it wasn't busy we had a huge area to ourselves and the staff couldn't have been nicer. Even cut up our pizzas so that we could eat one-handed It was my first attempt at feeding in public and because Elise was in her sling it was dead easy as the sling hides everything.
She's still being clingy and refusing to settle anywhere so she's been in the sling most of the day. I'm just going with it at the moment as I'm sure it's just a temporary phase. I'm enjoying having her close
Hope everybody is OK and have a good weekend all (although like Mollie I'm sure I'll be back sometime over the weekend!)

mibbes · 05/12/2008 22:10

photos uploaded - will catch up properly soon ladies xx

DingDongMerrilyOnEI · 05/12/2008 23:51

hi ladies
mibbes sounds like your CS was the right choice although traumatic beautiful boy he is very handsome your birth story almost had me blubbing FWIW my milk didnt come in properly for a few days so all may not be lost on the BF front im glad you are home now and all is well bet you cant wait until xmas now
hi to everyone else
xx ei xx

scully · 06/12/2008 05:15

Congrats Mibbes, have seen the photos on FB, Evan is gorgeous
dd2 improved by Thurs so I went back to work Thurs and Fri morning, before finishing at 11.15am to pick dd1 up from school, as it has now finished for summer holidays.
Have to say I've been a right grumpy cow today, not helped by a work colleague of dh's coming around for a few beers last night and staying 7hrs So dh has been hungover today and of course done sweet fa............
I'm feeling shite, it's about 34deg today and he's done nothing, I've taken dd1 to gymnastics, gone to the shops, put up the Xmas tree, tidied, cleaned - lazy git
I know my hormones aren't helping but........
Anyway, I'm sure I'll feel better at some point, just not coping with ms and the heat. Hope you're all having a nice Saturday

MollieandtheIvy · 07/12/2008 09:44

TeeHee Good news about work, I'd love to see your horrible boss's face when you tell them! Glad you are feeling a little better, how's your lonely weekend been?
Fruity Did you nosey around the whole house after? Should have taken pictures for us lot, you know how we like to know EVERYTHING So pleased to hear that your friends LO is doing better
CriCri What lovely restaurant staff cutting up your food glad to hear first public feed went well
Scully How are things today? You can put your DH in the lazy selfish git box with some of ours if you like! Seems to be a common problem, but it's worse when you're not feeling perfect. When is your next scan?

I knew yesterday that I had OV'd even before I did an OPK to confirm. I have even started OVing on day 14 (yesterday) which is unheard of normally CD16/17/18, I have to confess to nearly giving in to be napalmed yesterday It was very tempting to get back on the rollercoaster I've found that it's also brought DH and I closer together as now we have "nookie" rather than BD

So make the most of chilled out Mollie coz come the New Year I will be back to stressed out, worrying and obsessive Mollie

MollieandtheIvy · 07/12/2008 09:54

Mibbes I don't know how I forgot to say
Evan is so gorgeous, I want him!! I just want to eat him and it's a very good job that all your new mum's live so far away or I would be stealing your babies!

SparklyPseudonym · 07/12/2008 12:02

I'm so hungover.....urrrggghhhh. I'm going to be useless all day and I've got lots of work to do.
I'll come back later when I can read. xxx

HoHoHoThereGeorgieGirl · 07/12/2008 17:22

Hello lovely ladies. Tis me, am back from the Land of Snot . Feeling much better, although MS still horrible. But at least I can keep some food down so not the end of the world. Fave dishes at the mo are bran flakes with ice cold milk, and fish fingers, beetroot and crunchy lettuce with a dollop of mayo on white bread.....

Scully Snap. DH got a hangover from hell today. He's next to useless and has been moaning about how awful he feels all day. Poor old DD2 been in front of the telly all afternoon as I'm feeling like death on a cracker and so is he. Ah well. Tomorrow is another day. Least we haven't got the heat over here. Do sympathise. Must be hellish for you. Glad to hear that DD better. And lucky you, not more school runs. Still got another 2 weeks here. Ugh.

Fruity Wow, that house sounds amazing. I would def have gone on a snoop!!! Of course mine will be like that when it's finished. Not!!! Will be lucky if we can afford doors and windows. And if you're worried about this birth, maybe you should look into elec c-section? Nothing wrong in getting all the info. And you've got to do what's best for you.

Mollie TTC pom poms well and truely dusted off and waiting to be used. Although have just laughed myself silly thinking of me trying to jump about whilst pg with my astonishing display of cellulite on show. Hmmmm, prego (old) cheerleader.....not a great image is it .

Sparkly How's the hangover hon? I feel for you. Hope the night out was worth it!!!

Emmsy Lovely to hear from you. But sorry ot hear that Amy has been ill. It's horrible when they are so small and so poorly. Looking forward to seeing more of you in the new year.

Mibbes Oh my gosh, Evan is just gorgeous. He's so teeny tiny and brand new. Well done you and Mr Mibbes. How are you feeling? Still on a high or has the sleep deprivation kicked in yet?! Hope your scar heals quickly. Bio Oil very very good for scars etc. Used it in my last pg and don't have any stretch marks. Get from all good chemists.

Cricri Well done you for feeding in public, I could never get the hang of it and always felt really self concious. Will have to get a sling this time round as it seems to be the best answer. Glad that you're getting out and about. Love the new pics. Such a beauty already.

Kate Lucky you going away for the weekend. Am looking forward to all the dirt. Am totally deprived in that area and beginning to feel a wee bit sorry for myslef. Although, not as sorry as DH feels right about now!!!! Poor bloke. He's being stoical, but this sex ban is really beginning to grate.

Ei Can you think of a btter Chrsitmas name for me please. This one sucks!

TeeHee I completely sympathise with you. Piles hurt more than you would imagine. Ow. Pushed so hard when gave birth to Libby that gave myself a serious case of them . Hope you're on the mend. And can't beleive that you're finished work on 23rd Jan. That's gone really quickly.

Think I've caught up with everyone. Hope you all have a quite night. See you tomorrow.

hohoholaydee · 07/12/2008 17:35

Oh little Evan I can't really do him justice so I will simply say "utterly gorgeous" Mibbes Be careful of Mollie - I seem to remember her threatening to call the social on me if I'm not up to the job!

Actually Mollie I think it's a shame you don't live nearer as I think Auntie Mollie would be a handy babysitter. Glad you are fully enjoying TNTC - I found the same when we had a break and wasn't so stressed when we thought about TTC again so maybe you won't become a stresshead. Yes- I can't to see my nasty bosses face either (although I am a little scared too!- I know what a wimp hey)

Fruity Disappointed you didn't snap us a few pics - I love/hate drooling over other people lovely houses, although I usually end up feeling depressed that mine is still such a state! Guest slippers - a-maz-ing! Any news on the PIL departure date - will it be before Christmas.

Scully I agree with Mollie there seems to be alot of this selfish git virus going round our men at the moment! In your pregnant state my advice is to try lots of sighing and if that doesn't work try crying! Hope you start to feel better soon.

Sparkly What have you been up to to have such a raging hangover? Something exciting?

My lonely weekend has actually been OK, I went to a school reunion last night which I was dreading but had a great time. Going to meet up with some of the people I was really friendly with but have previous lost touch with - it was lovely.

Hello to everyone else - hope you are all having lovely weekends?
