Here we go again . Let the good news flow....

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 01/12/2008 14:54

Hello one and all. Bloody hell, that was a long weekend! PIL have finally gone. They are weird people. We told them about the pg on Fri night. They said they had guessed as I looked 'peaky', read: fat and green. Then they said that I should really be taking it easy and letting other people run around after me. They then proceeded to sit on their arses for 3 days and let me run around after them. . They couldn't even get up to make a cup of tea. And this morning, after telling me to calm down, they couldn't even put their sodding breakfast plates in dishwasher. Am flabber-gasted.

Have got awful cold. MS really horrible. And had to go and buy maternity jeans on Saturday as so bloated can't fit into normal 'skinnies'. Feel like poo . Am really hoping that MFI give us our money back as we can't afford to lose £7.5k. The kitchen cost £15k, so it was 50% deposit and they were 'holding' onto the kitchen til we needed to fit it in March. Just waiting for someone from the administration company to call us to confirm that we're getting money back. Annoyingly, DH paid for it on Switch, not a credit card, so not covered by insurance. Argh.

Anyway, enough of my whining. It's been all go on here.

Scully Fab news about your scan honey. You're slightly further ahead of me I think. You must be so pleased to see a heartbeat. Do you feel different this time too? Onwards and upwards to 12 weeks! Bad news about the storms. Sounds like they were bad ones in you're having hail in the summertime?

Mollie Thank you love. Your 'afternoon delight' story had me in stitches. Poor you and DH.

Fruity Having just had PIL for only 4 days, I can totally sympathise with how you are feeling my love. You are a bloody saint for having them stay with you for this long. How's things with DP? Have you tried to gently broach the subject with him? Any offers on the flat? And I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. It must be a terrifying time for her.

TeeHee Moan away lovely lady. We're not bored. Anyway, it takes my mind off how pants I'm feeling! And I'm with you. I'm awful at being pg. Like the 4-5 month bit when my bump is neat. After that, all bets are off and backside expands to size of small African country

Mibbes Any news, any news, any news?! How exciting. Fingers crossed and good luck.

Kate Hello gorgeous. Nice to see you back. Don't stay away for so long next time. Talk to us. We're so supportive when we have a wobble. Let us reciprocate.

BellaHarry If it makes you feel any better, I was getting a belly 5 weeks into this pg. Trousers tight. Thighs and bum bigger. Am going to get some leggins as they are v comfortable and can be worn under baggy jumpers.

Hi to Ei and Sparkly.

SparklyPseudonym · 01/12/2008 20:10

Evening ladies,
Had a lovely day at school and just sitting down for a glass of wine. So much for our 'not drinking first part of the week' rule.
HTGG So sorry about all the MFI extra stress. Last thing you need with dodgy builders etc. at your in-laws too. Make sure you get lots of rest this week.
Fruity I measured 2cm over during my pregnancy with DD. They said they only worried if you were 3+ cm bigger than dates. I didn't think you looked that big! for you friend. It all sounds awful.
Teehee Sorry to hear you're all again. What's the matter? You're not pathetic. This is the place to come for sympathy. Take it very easy xxx
Mibbes Am wondering if your silence means that something is happening. Sending you lots of love and luck (and heading over to stalk you on Dec thread...)
Scully Can't tell you how pleased I am about your scan result. Excellent news!! Do you feel more relaxed now?
Kate You know where we are when you feel ready to talk. Thinking of you lots and sending tight squeezes
Ei Where have you been hiding?
Mollie PMSL at your sex description. I have such funny (and wrong) mental images.

Hello to everyone else. Just looked at the list and I'm CD10 already. Don't think I'll be ovulating for a while - esp since last cycle was 35+ days. We've decided not to start trying until early March as we're off to Disney in Feb and don't want to be feeling rubbish....hopefully we'll have a happy accident though.

OP posts:
cricri · 01/12/2008 21:59

Evening ladies!
Scully So pleased your scan went well I know you won't relax completely but hopefully this has reassured you a little.
Mibbes Hope all went well at the hospital and your silence means things are happening Can't wait to hear your news!
Teehee Sorry you're feeling crap. Feel free to moan all you like - that's what we're here for.
Georgie at your in-laws. Especially after you'd told them the news! Sorry you're feeling crap too. MFI problems don't help. I did see an advert from one of the other kitchen places in one of the weekend papers saying that they would honour MFI deposits - can't remember which company it was but will try to dig out the paper. Might be worth investigating.
Fruity Glad you and DP sorted stuff out and hope he changes his attitude. Re measuring big for dates, several of the ladies on my AN thread were told the same thing but by the end they were spot on. The tape measure method is notoriously inaccurate anyway! As for the ELCS, only you can decide if it's right for you. No right and no wrong with these things. You've got plenty of time to mull it over anyway.
Mollie I also laughed at the vision conjured up by your post!
Sparkly Glad all is going well at school and hope you enjoyed the wine!
Bella Hope you're ok. As Fruity says, all those twinges are normal. I remember having AF-type pains for several days right at the beginning.
Ei Hope you're OK.
Kate Saw on FB that Nemo has a sore eye - hope he gets better soon!
Everything ok here, Elise still feeding like mad! Wouldn't go to sleep today except on me so resorted to putting her in the sling this evening. Managed to cook and eat dinner and then write some emails whilst she slept and fed - talk about multitasking Will try not to do that all the time - not sure about the whole attachment parenting thing although she has been sleeping in our bed at night after the middle of the night feed. Took her to a wine tasting on Saturday afternoon and she was as good as gold - slept in the sling all evening. She was also the centre of attention and lots of people kept coming up to talk to me. Having a baby is a good ice-breaker

mibbes · 01/12/2008 22:48

Sorry ladies no news here yet !

MW at triage confirmed that it was waters starting to break and due to risk of infection I have to be induced tomorrow morning - eeek ! Have spent the day texting friends and putting up xmas decorations. Had reflexologist round earlier to try and bring things on but nothing as yet... Bags are packed so all ready now, not sure how much I'll sleep. Sorry for me post but my head is up my @rse.

I'll let you know as soon as I pop - Kate would you mind popping over to Dec AN thread with the vital stats when I text you ?

Toodleooooo - YIKES !!!!

scully · 02/12/2008 00:37

How exciting Mibbes, hope it all goes well and can't wait to hear your good news
dd2 still sick here, she threw up several times yesterday during the day but seemed ok so I didn't worry too much, but last night it made a big comeback and even this morning she still can't keep water down, let alone anything else. She hasn't done a week in over 12hrs and has kept nothing down except for a lemonade iceblock in the past 24hrs so we're off to the doctors in half an hour Of course today is the day that our car is in for some urgent repairs so doing the taxi/bus thing and even though she is sick, she is resistant to the pram idea.....But given it is 30deg outside and I am feeling constantly nauseas, I can't carry her, so I'm winning that argument for now. The smell of vomit in the house is awful, feel so sorry for her
What a good girl you have Cricri Although you don't often realise it with your first, this newborn age is a great age to get out and about with them, once the feeding is sorted. They are portable, generally sleep ok and don't roam around restaurants or other places causing havoc Certainly couldn't take dd2 to a wine tasting, not the place for an almost 3yr old
I'm feeling much the same as my other pregnancies Georgie, was very nauseas with them between wks 7-12. This time is has started at wk6, that's the only difference. And this is my first pregnancy in the heat, that's an added bonus Have found iceblocks (lollies) are helping though and I can digest them better than a glass of water.
Your poor friend fruity, hope they find out what is wrong with their baby, must be so frustrating and sad, after all their attempts for a family.
Hi to everyone else

mibbes · 02/12/2008 06:07

Hi scully - your poor DD, sounds awful . Hope the trek to the doc isn't too difficult in the heat. in stark contrast we have some snow this morning !

Contractions started at midnight - almost the minute I got into bed ! Managed to sleep through 1.5 hours of them but now they are every 5 mins (although only last 30 sesconds). Got bored lying in bed so am up and about and so glad it has kicked off by itself - not convinced the contractions are sore enough though , these had better not he BH !!

MollieMooma · 02/12/2008 08:24

Will catch up with everyone else later but Mibbes sounds like it's all going on, can't wait for your next update when you'll hopefully be telling us all about miblet. Good luck lovely hope things go really smoothly for you x

DingDongMerrilyOnEI · 02/12/2008 18:20

iv been checking all day to see if there is any news
dya like my crimbo-fied name? is anyone else name changing for xmas??
xx ei xx

SparklyPseudonym · 02/12/2008 19:01

Kate Is there any news on mibbes yet? I've been thinking about her lots today. Am glad contractions have started on their own. I was induced, don't really know if it makes any difference to delivery/pain but much nicer not to be fiddled with. Am sending you so much love and lucks Mibbes. Mollie Alrite chicky?
Ei Am loving your new christmas name...did you spend lots of time coming up with that? I might change if I can think of anything.
Scully Your poor DD . What did the doc say? Hope she's feeling better this evening. There's so much sickness around in schools at the moment with most operating between 50-70%. Hope you're all ok.
Cricri Elise is sounding like a little star. I second what scully says about getting out and about with a newborn. It takes all day to get ready but they're so much more portable than a toddler.

I'm a bit worried ladies. Day 11 today. AF left on about day 7 but I'm constantly getting AF-like pains and then had a big brown loss today. Do you think there's something really wrong with me (gynae obv - I know I'm nuts).

OP posts:
FruitynNutty · 02/12/2008 20:32

Evening all

Still no news from Mibbes? Ive also been checking in all day. Ei great name BTW, I'd love a name change but not the most inventive person. You're so good at name changes, perhaps you should help us all with our xmas names
Sparkly I have no idea what's going on with you I'm afraid. Do you think you should make an appointment with GP? No idea what they'll say but maybe will put your mind at rest? Whatever you do, Don't google! You'll only drive yourself mad.

I've got no mindees tomorrow, baby mindee off with diarrhea and sickness poor little thing It's rife around here, sounds as though it's even as far as Oz Scully Poor DD

I'm starving, DP home late because Northern line buggered. He's just called to say he's finally in Collywood, I think he's getting us a curry from Sainsburys - can't wait!

I've had a bit of nesting this afternoon. Been rearranging DS's bedroom. Looks much neater now. Still no room for anything though, no idea where we're going to put new xmas presents, never mind a new baby! I think I need a re-think.
I can't even work out where baby will sleep for the first few weeks in our room. Only space for moses basket is next to radiator Perhaps not such a good idea. Perhaps I'll clear out the bottom drawer

Come on Mibbes Puuuuuuuuuuuuuusssshhhhhhh!!!

cricri · 02/12/2008 20:33

Hope all is going well for Mibbes Glad contractions started on their own. I was threatened with induction too but fortunately labour started naturally for me too.
Ei Love the new name
Sparkly Don't know tbh. Probably nothing serious but maybe check with your GP if you're worried? Not what you need at the moment, more worry
Hope everybody else is ok, very quiet here today

SparklyPseudonym · 02/12/2008 20:43

Thanks Fruity and Cricri. Know I should see GP but don't have much faith after last visit during m/c.

Come on Mibbes. Am wondering if you've had babi yet?

OP posts:
MollieandtheIvy · 02/12/2008 20:57

Mibbes Hope all is going well
Sparkly If you're worrying you should definatley go to the GP
EI Loving the new name, you have inspired me (well DH thought it up)
Kate Hope you are OK?
Fruity Sorry to hear that your friend is still having problems with her little one, she must be so worried, it's the not knowing that's worse.

Oh my sorry girls have to go Survivors is on in 3 minutes, I promise to catch up with everyone else tomorrow as I can't record it.
Sorry sorry sorry
x

kate2179 · 02/12/2008 22:03

Evening all

And before you ask, I haven't had a text from Mibbes yet, but I absolutely promise to be on here the moment I do Am SO excited for her Good luck Mibbes!!!!

Thank you all for your lovely comments. I'm ok really, just a bit bleurgh with it all. Very bored with feeling this way, so many of you know what it's like, I'm sure I don't need to say any more.

Sparkly if you feel ok in yourself, which it sounds like you do, and you don't have a temperature I'd say it's VERY unlikely to be anything to worry about. Was it smelly? (You don't have to answer that on here if you don't want to ) I would have thought the most likely thing if it is a problem is a minor infection. I think MollieHasAGreatChristmasName () had one? But I think she had some pain as well which tipped her off. Can totally understand where you're coming from re the gp, how about phoning the epu where you had the erpc if you're worried? I phoned mine about the bleeding i had afterwards and they were really nice. I'd say if it was just a one off thing you probably don't need to worry, but we all know that's MUCH easier said than done, so do call them if you're concerned, that's what they're there for afterall

Mollie any more luck on the 'afternoon delight' front as Georgie so brilliantly put it?

Fruity so sorry to hear about your friend's LO, I can't imagine how terrifying it must be for her, I'm sure she understands you not knowing what to say to her Glad things are going well with you though.

Scully SO glad your scan went well Little steps. Every day your baby is getting bigger and stronger. Good to hear you don't have too long to wait for your next scan, although I'm sure it will feel like an eternity. Am continuing to keep everything crossed for you

Ei I agree with the others, great name Please will you think of one for me? [cheeky-cow emoticon] How you doing atm? Don't think you've been on here much more than me lately. Hope you're ok

Cricri am very impressed you made it to a wine tasting Thanks for asking after Nemo, I took him to the vets this afternoon in the end, it was just gettig worse poor chap. Cost me over £50 though, so if it doesn't get better smartish there will be trouble!

Georgie how's the cold? I HATE being ill, and being ill and not being allowed to take any drugs must be the pits! Worth it for a happy bean though Hope the sickness isn't getting you down too much. xx

Right. I'm off to gaze at my phone in the hope of news from Scotland!

teeheelaydee · 02/12/2008 22:32

Ooh can't believe that Miblet is on it's way - can't wait to hear news. Good luck Mibbes and Mr MibbesKate Good to see you back and you Ei, you've been quiet lately - Love the new name, you always think of the best ones, although have to say pretty impressed with Mollie's - v/inventive.

Fruity Your poor friend, must be awful after all this time to still be going through something so dreadful, I really don't know how she does it and admire her so much.

Scully Sounds like a pretty gruesome time in your house at the moment. Bless her - bet she doesn't know what to do with herself. Guesss it could take your mind off counting the days - what am I talking about nothing is going to do that.

Sparkly Know what you mean about the docs, you don't just want to be fobbed off but it doesn't sound too sinister. Is there any GP you like at your surgery that you could book in with?

Cricri So impressed with your multi-tasking, wouldn't worry too much about having her in the sling for a bit - I mean you've got to eat and obviously have time to catch up on MN.

Feeling loads better today and back at work. Now off til Friday anyway so Christmas shopping tomorrow and haircut. I have to say I am really into the Christmas thing this year - I think cos last year's was pretty awful and I had no enthusiasm for it whatsoever. Off to work out how to change my name - do I have to set up new profile?

hohoholaydee · 02/12/2008 22:35

Yey - did it ! How easy was that - now if only I had Ei's imagination I could change it more regularly.

scully · 03/12/2008 00:29

No idea what to change my name to, any ideas?
dd2 sort of improving, hasn't thrown up since yesterday afternoon, still not eating much though and very lethargic so I've stayed home with her today. Given how I feel, I was quite happy to stay home 31deg today so don't the heat is doing us any favours.
Hope you're pushing away Mibbes
How's your cold Ei, I see you were having lemsip, on FB. You must be feeling bad to drink that, ugh
I feel like I'm back in the UK, we now get CBeebies on Foxtel (Sky), so dd2 has been watching that the last couple of days Tweenies has just come on, yay.....
Suppose I had better get up and fold up some of the washing sitting next to me, dd2 has managed to vomit on quite a few sheets, towels and clothes in the last 2 days

kate2179 · 03/12/2008 07:17

Morning! Drum roll please.........

Mibbes has had a BOY!!!!!

I'll copy out the text I had from them, then you'll all know as much as I do!

"Baby EVAN was born at 12.20am. He is 6lb 5oz and the spit of daddy! Ended up with emergency c-section after much panic but all ok now "

Poor Mibbes, I don't know what went on, but it sounds pretty stressful, although I don't suppose they care too much now as it seems everything has worked out beautifully! MASSIVE congratulations to Mibbes, MrMibbes and their little Miblet! xxx

FruitynNutty · 03/12/2008 14:35

Hooray for Mibbes, congratulations on the birth of Evan! I'm so pleased I'm not alone on the boy stakes And a cute little 6.5 pounder! How Sweeeeeeet!
I can't wait to see photos!
Shame about the C-section, I have to say, I recovered very quickly after mine. It's a bugger after hours and hours of trying to get the baby out the natural way though. Makes me wonder if I should just cut out the middle man and go straight for c-section

Ei Like the name. I may even use it, just give me a few to choose from

My friend had her baby last night at 36 weeks as baby wasn't growing well. She only weighed 3.8 pounds .
My friend had gestational diabetes too so baby should have been overweight which is why they were worried and got her out early.
I think my RL friends are jinxed

It's bloody freezing and my heating doesn't go on until 5:30pm I refuse to put it on earlier.

I just can't follow the "eat less sugary carbs to avoid such a big baby" crap. I'm not sure if it will even make that much difference anyway so I'm just going to carry on the way I was. Now, where did I put the choccy biccies?.......................

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 03/12/2008 14:36

Just a quck one from me to say congratualtion to Mibbes. Am soooooooo happy for you. And what a great anme. Seems as if we have a knack for choosing good names on this thread. No pressure then Fruity and TeeHee!!!

Mibbes Hope you are resting and that the birth wasn't too traumatic for you. Looking forward to hearing about all the gory details. Am sending you a big glass of champagne and some crackers with really good French pate and smelly soft cheese. Oh, and some seafood and lashings of giner beer!!!

This cold is making me really poorly, so sorry I haven't been on for a while. Just getting thru the day and going to bed at 8pm. Throat on fire and nose on constant drip. Coupled with MS and pukking I look a state! I also seem to have developed cellulite from my tits to my toes......

Hope everyone ok. Will catch up properly at the weekend. Love to you all. xxxxxx

kate2179 · 03/12/2008 15:21

It's not cellulite Georgie, it's goose bumps cos it's so bloomin cold!

cricri · 03/12/2008 17:10

Congratulations Mibbes Lovely name! Sorry to hear you ended up with emcs but as long as you and baby are both well that's the main thing. Look forward to hearing all about it when you've got a free moment (ha!). I have to say though, these slings are a great invention I get some MN time and can even NAK (nurse at keyboard).
Scully Pleased DD is on the mend. Sounded awful - I'm another vomit-phobe so am dreading having to deal with the whole sickness bug thing. Can cope with regurgitated milk but anything more...
Georgie Sorry you're feeling rubbish with ms and cold. I hate not being able to take anything - paracetamol just does nothing for me! Ei Sorry you've got a cold too
Teehee Glad you're feeling better. Hope Xmas shopping and haircut went well.
Kate Good to have you back Glad Nemo is better. Vet's bills are a nightmare though aren't they? Even if the pet is insured it's not worth claiming for such a relatively small amount. Still, they're worth it!
Fruity Hope your friend's baby is doing ok.
