Evening ladies,
Went to visit my placement school today and it looks fab. Class teacher is very organised and passionate so I think I'm looking forward to Monday. Have just come back from dinner with DD, my mate and her little boy and I should get on with some work now but I think I'll relax instead.
Am feeling a little bit as a lass in DPs department has been off 'sick' this week. I know she has been TTC (and is such a smug cow) and I really suspect she is pg. She's the type of person to rub it in. Ah well...
Cricri Elise is such a cutie. Congratulations!! I think my milk came in on day 3 so I'm sure you'll have a chest like Pamela Anderson by Saturday..good luck with feeding. It sounds like you're a natural.
HTGG How did the visit to the doc go? I hope you've had the support you deserve. My workload isn't going to get easier for a long time with placement but I'm sure it will be worth it.
Mibbes It's your last day in work tomorrow!! Do you have anything nice planned?
Ei Did you do anything special last night?
Teehee You really are perfect . Great to hear good news from your appointment.

Hi to everyone else. DP is off out to squash soon so I plan to do nothing this evening......

Just updated my bit.

Doc was lovely and has booked me in for early 6 week scan on 25th Nov. Not even four weeks til Sat cos cycle so short. Has given me some progesterone pesseries to shove up my fanjo though to ensure that my urteus stays chilled out and calm .

Am trying not to think about it too much as just get horrible flashbacks to what happened before. What will be will be......and I think this doc knows his stuff. So will keep fingers crossed that this is sticky bean.

kate2179 · 06/11/2008 21:46

Evening all!

Cricri as I said on facebook, great photos, Elise is beautiful You'll be a FANTASTIC mummy!

Sparkly your projected degree grades are fantastic, you are a very clever lady! Really glad you like the look of the school. And really hate it when you just know you're about to get another "happy" announcement... Hope you're ok. An evening of relaxation sounds just what you need

Georgie - or is it still Ghouly? Glad the doctor's visit went well. I had progesterone pessaries too, although mine had to be "inserted" somewhere even more unpleasant than my fanjo! [urrghh!] You mustn't panic if there's no hb at 6 weeks though, that's very early, my consultant is currently refusing to scan me next time til I'm 8 weeks... Though we have agreed to compromise on 7.5! (I wanted one at 7 weeks - he wants to wait in case I'm wrong about my dates - clearly he doesn't know me that well yet )Anything that keeps you chilled out and calm can only be a good thing

Teehee always knew you were perfect Surely that reflects well on us if we're your friends?!?

Mibbes last day! Woooo hoooo! (!) Does that mean you'll be available for lots more mn posting after tomorrow?

Ei really good to hear you're feeling chilled out about OV this month, concentrating on other things has worked for Georgie - maybe it'll work for you too?

And as for you Miss Fruitloop, I hope your current absence doesn't mean you're doing too much young lady! 20 weeks!!

Right. Brain like a seive. Am going to have to post this and go back a page to see what I've missed

kate2179 · 06/11/2008 21:47

Think I'm going to have to put myself on a smiley ban... Blush Grin

kate2179 · 06/11/2008 23:21

Ok. Wobble alert.

Just had this email from my homeopath about the fact that I have to go through airport style metal detectors at court every day:

Dear Kate,
As promised have discussed your remedies with Lisa and they are on their way/ should be there.
The Biores is still showing x ray as a problem, so I have added some x ray as a homeopathic to your prescription.
This was posted separately today.
I know when we last spoke about this you said you would have to have a note from a GP saying you were pregnant to get round it.
Do you think a professional note from a Naturopathic Doctor explaining that it is resonating in your system and in our professional opinion precluding you from a successful pregnancy (quoting research if necessary) would help?
I am not saying that this is necessarily the case but I do fell very uneasy about the frequency of exposure.
Let me know if there is anything we can do.
Wendy x

"in our professional opinion precluding you from a successful pregnancy (quoting research if necessary)"

Plus just heard from a friend on facebook. She's 10 weeks pg. Am really pleased for her, it was from her 1st go at IVF following an ectopic 2 years ago. But what with that and the email from Wendy (above)... How am I supposed to stay positive with all this going on?!?

I told the girl on facebook I was hoping to start trying again soon but that my acupuncturist wanted me to keep waiting. She said she'd had acupuncture throughout her treatment and really thought it had helped - "made my womb beautifully bloody" which is exactly what my acupuncturist has been going on about - why she's so bothered about my blood, seems to think there might not be enought there to supprt a healthy pg..... HELP ME?!?!

Sorry for the ramble/rant. Am really hoping things will seem a bit brighter in the morning. One thing's for sure, DH's fun has just been cancelled for tonight

kate2179 · 07/11/2008 12:33

Hav I killed the thread?

kate2179 · 07/11/2008 12:34

Have I killed the thread?

MollieMooma · 07/11/2008 14:31

Oh honey no you haven't, sorry haven't been on for a day or so been very up and down, and hugely busy at work. But just logged on and saw your post. No wonder you are down, two blows at once! Are you able to avoid these detectors, is it feasible? You will only worry if you continue to use them as it will always be in the back of your mind everytime you pass through them. I take it that she did not fully explain last time you had a note when pg how serious an issue this was. Maybe she could have broken the news to you a little more sympathetically???
How are you feeling today?

teeheelaydee · 07/11/2008 20:56

No Kate you haven't killed the thread - nothing you say will scare us - you are stuck with us.

I'm in two minds about the message from the clinic. Firstly is she just saying the awful quote about precluding your chances so that the court take it seriously? What you have been through is dreadful and it is no wonder that you want to do everything you can to help have a baby BUT.... (and I am taking a deep breath as I type and hope this makes you feel better and not like killing me)I think you are doing everything you can. You are putting so much effort into being healthy and increasing your chances....you seem to be convinced that there is something wrong with you and that may not be the case. You may just have been horribly unlucky, hard to get your head around I know but it is possible. Presumably loads of women pass through these things everyday/operate x-rays/do other things that could be dangerous/abuse their bodies terribly and go on to have healthy babies. You are doing so much to help your chances, can this be such a huge risk. Have you looked at the research or asked your consultant what he knows about it? I am quite a fan of alternative medicine but the last week or so they seem to be making you feel worse not better.
It must be really hard to stay positive after 2 blows but you will, because you are fabulous and you know you have to. I think it was your own wise words that said you have to get pregnant to have a baby so we are all going to have to take the plunge and there are never any guarantees !! Right that's it sermon over and I hope you don't think me too preachy/bossy. I am sending you a big virtual hug and just wish it could be a real one.

Cricri She is so beautiful and you and DP just look so happy. Can't believe that it's the same little girl as the 4D scan underneath. Hope you are all doing brilliantly.

Georgie Glad your doctor was lovely, that's just what you need. Agree with Kate about the scan. My 6 wk turned out to be 5 wk and if you remember - I freaked that no hb. I'm sure you will be far more sensible and level headed though.

Ei Loving the new TTC attitude - you forget about it and we will keep fingers crossed on your behalf.

Sparkly Well done on Uni predictions. Knew you were a genius, sounds like it's given you some momentum to get back into it as well and really glad you are looking forward to placement - you are on the home stretch now lady.

Mibbes How scary to be top of the list! What have you got planned for the next few weeks? Do you have a big pile of books/magazines/DVD's/bath products ready - this is lilypad time now.

Fruity I cannot believe you are 20 weeks, am very excited to find out what you are having?

Scully Where are you? Is everything OK?

Right longer post than I anticipated so am off, although must just tell you that was supposed to meet DP after work to do the food shop, when I met him he had already done it!! Actually he has been a sweetie all week. Will it last until sticky bean arrives?

HeyThereGhoulyGirl · 07/11/2008 21:09

Kate I think you need to put what they said into perspective. pretty much everything in our modern world can cause us harm, give us cancer, not let us get pregnant etc etc. Barring moving away to a dessert island and only eating organic food, you're going to encounter thing severy day that your nataurpath won't like. Also, remember that she's trying to justify her existence to you. To earn her money. And, there's always at least 2 ways to read scientific data, medical tests etc.

You have been through enough trauma this year. YOU DO NOT NEED ANYMORE. Would it not just be better to enjoy your life? To let yourself do what you want, rather than being put on someone elses schedule? Please just give yourself a break.

We're all here for you. Whenever you have a wobble. But please don't let these people convince you that there's something wrong. Just think of your clients that are addicted to crack, and still concieve. You are fit, healthy, young and in peak condition. You will concieve. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

barbie1 · 07/11/2008 23:07

Sorry to gatecrash but im just checking up on mollie I havent heard from her for a while and im her stalker dont you know?

Ah i see she is still in your safe hands, ill be off now, sorry again xxxx

HappyandEiknowit · 07/11/2008 23:21

hi ladies
kate i agree with the others!! give yourself a break i think naturopathy can only tell you so much and at some point they start scaremongering so you carry on attending sessions and end up frightened to move unless it affects your chances of conceiving i think that while it was helping you emotionally it was worth it but now that it is only adding to your ttc stress it might be time to drop it or cut back and just get back on the horse so to speak i agree that what has happened in thew past with thomas etc may have been 'just' a horrifically awful case of bad luck and in order to get the baby you so long for you will have to start ttc at some point as there will always be some excuse not to but what about what you want?? i think you are scaarily close to fertility perfection with all the measures you have taken to get in tip top condition that it wouldnt surprise me if you got caught straight away
anywho...
how is everyone else doing fine i hope
xx ei xx

MollieMooma · 08/11/2008 09:23

Kate How are you feeling today hun? x

Morning to everyone else, hope you are all well and planning a lovely weekend, it's a bit wet and dreary here, should still be in bed with a hangover as I was due to go out with a friend from work last night, but when one of the girls I'm closest too cancelled I bottled it as there was going to be a few women I didn't know there and my confidence is at zero at the moment, sort of regret it now but will get drunk watching the rugby this afternoon instead
Have a good one everyone

kate2179 · 08/11/2008 10:34

Morning all Thank you for being so kind to me while I was having my wobble
I spoke to the head of the centre at lunchtime yesterday (the one who did my review earlier in the week) and she made me feel much better. Said she thinks the homeopath had got the wrong end of the stick (I also spoke to the homeopath, the one who sent the email, earlier on yesterday, and she did NOT make me feel better...)
But Lisa, the boss lady, said all that was showing up was that I'd had an x-ray, which she thinks was a dental xray I had back in August, as opposed to showing chronic exposure to low level radiation, which is what showed up back in May and what the homeopath thought had come back (if that makes sense...)
I also talked to Lisa about timing for trying again. I asked her if it would worry her if we started trying this month. She said no. I asked how about next month, and she said ideally she'd say January, but there are so many variables in life we should just go with whatever feels right for us, and that nothing we decide is right for us will worry her What a sensible lady!
So we'll see what happens this month... Not helped by the fact that we have friends staying this weekend and the only internal door we have upstairs is to our ensuite...! We'll see!

Thanks again for your support ladies, it means so much to me

MollieMooma · 08/11/2008 10:36

Kate Glad you feel better and got a bit more sense out of someone else. So I take it that it's a quickie in the ensuite this weekend then What a story to tell the grandkids

scully · 08/11/2008 11:31

Haha Mollie Would be a great story though Kate Good to hear you're feeling better about it, I would agree with the other wise ladies, listen to all the advice you receive and then see what is practical for your life. You're doing so much already to ensure a healthy pregnancy, but you still have to live your life.
Thought I'd add myself to the list.....

OMG - Did I miss something Scully or are you sneaking in under the radar !!! You are being very calm missy!!

Sorry if I did miss your news but congratulations - it's all go in here isn't it

MollieMooma · 08/11/2008 11:50

Scully OMG OMG OMG you little minx!! Congratulations!!!!! Sending you huge amounts of sticky positive vibes! x

scully · 08/11/2008 11:58

Yep, thought I'd sneak that one in, good spotting guys
Only got the BFP this morning so very early days, will be 5wks on Tues. Going to book a scan for 8wks, not sure if I will have hcg tests again. The results tell you something is wrong but you have to wait for the scan to confirm it anyway, so figure I may as well just wait the scan.
Have managed to get through a bbq here this afternoon/evening and not drink, I'm sure one good friend will guess something is up as he knows our history and also knows I'm quite partial to a glass of bubbley or 3
Have a lovely weekend ladies

MollieMooma · 08/11/2008 12:01

Scully I think it's a good idea to wait for the scan, no doubt Kate will agree as she explained to me the doubts etc it can raise. Congrats again my lovely x

mibbes · 08/11/2008 12:56

scully congrats missy ! Was delighted to spot your news on the AN thread . This a very lucky thread indeed !

Kate glad you are feeling better hun - good luck with ensuite loving

Am now offically waiting for my baby - no more work, hurray ! DP out this afternoon so I have resting, nesting and hospital back packing on the agenda .

HappyandEiknowit · 08/11/2008 13:24

OMG!!! scully im so happy for you!! congratulations!! (***) bag of sticky baby dust for you
ok girls mollie sparkly kate piper i have a little news from the ei psychic network i had a dream the night before last that i had in my hands 3 BFP HPTs (cbd, first response and asda own brand) and only 1 was mine... i dont know how i knew it was mine and the others werent i justr felt it so either scully has taken one place and there are 2 more announcements to go or we will have 3 BFP's before november is at its end so who is gonna be next then?? i have a feeling it -will-- be kate
so shall we start a BFP raffle to raise morale
xx ei xx

FruitynNutty · 08/11/2008 19:51

OMG well done scully
Huge congrats!

Ei How exciting about that dream! I totally believe in you! Fantastic that one of the HPT's was yours. Do you think the other two were scully and georgie? Or maybe, as your dream was after Georgie's +ve that it could be someone else?????? Oooh it's soooo exciting

I went to the new Westfield shopping centre today, it was immense!
My mum bought me lots of lovely things - very spoilt child me
She got me a pair of boots from Topshop,a maternity dress which she said I needed (who was I to argue?) and two tops which are are actually long enough to cover my bump.
Also they had a two for one sale on kids clothes in Blooming Marvellous so she bought the baby a lovely soft snow suit (I'm sure it'll still be freezing in April ) and a baby grow with "party time" on the front.

All you London girls, we should all go for a day trip (sans enfant) to Westfield - it's bloody marvellous

Kate I agree with everyone else, there will always be something which makes you feel it will delay conception. Just go for it and enjoy it!

Mibbes enjoy your free time, you'll never get it again! Also rest rest rest as much as possible.

Teehee I can hardly believe it myself Not sure where the time has gone. Only 5 more sleeps till scan When's yours? Will you find out?

HeyThereGhoulyGirl · 09/11/2008 08:57

Hey Scully. Fab news. HUGE congratulations. . I really, really, really hope that both our beans are sticky ones. It would be fab to go thru this together (even if we are on opposite sides of the planet). Sending you many sticky vibes.

Kate Glad you're feeling calmer. Just go for it my love. There's never a perfect time. Just enjoy. Let your hair down and smile!

Fruity Count me in for the shopping trip. Haven't got any money, But hey, can window shop (yeah right!). Looking forward to seeing you on Wed.

Mibbes I remember nesting v well. Had urgent need to wash, iron and re-arrange EVERYTHING in linen cupboard .

TeeHee When's your 20 week scan?

Ei I think you might be the thread's resident White Witch. A friend of mine is White Witch. Always knows when I'm going to call, has there weird powers of intuition. Spooky. What a great dream. Let's hope you're the other person that the +ve stick is for. Fingers crossed huh.

Sparkly Hi hon. How's your weekend going?

Libby is a poorly girl Hacking cough. High temp. Off to docs tomorrow for more antibiotics as think she's got another chest infection. Quiet day for us.
