Here we go again . Let the good news flow....

OP posts:
FruitynNutty · 09/11/2008 17:24

Evening all

I just got a fab bargain in Elys in Wimbledon. (Kate I just know you're gonna love this!) Got a Kath Kidston double duvet cover and two pillow cases for £30 instead of £100 smackeroonies Impressed? It's a stone colour with big white flowers all over and stone and white stripes on the back. I might put it on now Oh how I love a bargain.

They've got loads left. Also the traditional flower design and the candy stripes too.

How are the new BFP ladies doing? Has it sunk in yet?

FruitynNutty · 09/11/2008 17:24

Also, how are the new mum's doing? Has it sunk in yet?

kate2179 · 09/11/2008 17:47

Woooo Hooo Scully!! Fantastic news! Really thrilled for you! And glad it sounds like you're getting the medical support you need. Keeping everything crossed for a sticky one for you. Mollie's right that I'd strongly caution against hcg tests, but you must do whatever's right for you. I totally agree with your logic though xx

And Ei, well what can I say? I have complete faith in your dreams too! So the most important question is whether the third test belonged to Georgie??? I'm hoping not, as the dream came when your already knew about hers... Or maybe this is the month for everyone who's had had 2 mc's to conceive? BRING IT ON!

I can't believe you all thought I was in for a night of ensuite passion last night, what sort of desperate baby-making madwoman do you take me for?? we snuck downstairs once everyone was asleep and christened the new sofa instead

Anyone about tonight? Am in chatty mood, at least til Strictly starts! We took Lola for her first walk this afternoon, absolutely hilarious! She loved it! If only the house training was going as well

Lots of love to you all

kate2179 · 09/11/2008 18:01

Ooooo Fruity! How well you know me! Am very ! Which of the traditional floral ones do they have? (And have you got time to go and get one for me if I send you the money?!? ) Is this the print you got, but in a different colour?

FruitynNutty · 09/11/2008 18:37

yes that's it! Same colour too.

I can't get there now till next weekend really. Can't really take all the kids up there. Maybe see if Georgie can before the weekend?

Just looking through the website to see if I can find the other designs they had, BRB..............

FruitynNutty · 09/11/2008 18:40

They had this one

FruitynNutty · 09/11/2008 18:40

and this one

FruitynNutty · 09/11/2008 18:42

Damn forgot which floral one they had, I hadn't realised there were so many. They all look familiar now..... Sorry, not much use eh!

HeyThereGhoulyGirl · 09/11/2008 19:12

Kate Wooooooohooooooo. Check you out, you dirty little minx . Bet DH thought all his Christmas's had come at once! My poor DH has been banned from any sort of jiggery pokery by the doc til I get past 12 weeks. He's sitting in the corner crying! Could try and get in Ely's for you. But can't promise as Libs poorly and have a shedload of stuff I need to do on both houses this week. If I can get down, what do you want?

Fruity Hmmmmm, BFP starting to sink in. But to be honest, am trying not to think about it. Am wondering whether to cancel 6 week scan. Not sure if there's any point really. I know that I can have good 6, 7, 8 and 9 week scans and still m/c. So, will have to give it some thought. Don't really feel any different. Just more windy . But hey. As Kate says, BRING IT ON . Just very very thankful to be in this position again.

Scully Think you might be a couple of days ahead of me. Not 5 weeks til Thurs as v short cycles. This is going to be a LONG 8 months!

SparklyPseudonym · 09/11/2008 19:14

Sorry I haven't been around much (again). Have had so much on-4 birthday parties with DD on Saturday and went out for lunch today before watching Igor in the cinema. Start placement tomorrow - arggghhhh!! The weather this evening is awful.Right, I need to catch up.....
HTGG Am so glad you're going to have an early scan and seeing a doc who knows his stuff. Am keeping everything crossed for you. Poor Libs hope she's better soon.
Kate You've had so much to worry about and I'm glad your mind has been put to rest. When are you due to OV? LMAO at the sofa!!
Teehee Have you had a good weekend lady? Please keep reminding me of the home stretch when I'm pulling my hair out!
Mollie Lovely chat last night - hope your head is better this evening
Scully CONGRATULATIONS!!! Fab news. It's about time you had your turn. Lots and lots of sticky vibes to you.
Mibbes How is maternity leave treating you? Do you only have 3 weeks to go?! I've been here far too long....
Ei Owwww I can't wait to see if your predictions come true!!
Fruity Your mum is such a sweetie. Can I borrow her? Is your scan Thurs?
Emmsy [waves] Am looking forward to reading your birth story.

Happy Sunday all!! xxxxxxxxx

sparkly did DD enjoy Igor? What did you think of it? I took DS last weekend. I wasn't too sure about it tbh, think DS liked it though. Yes scan is on Thursday - can hardly believe it's nearly here. I bet Button keeps it's legs crossed, I need advise on making sure he/she unfolds them!

SparklyPseudonym · 09/11/2008 19:32

I thought Igor was a bit dark but DD sat through most of it. She was slightly restless towards the end but I managed to bribe her with a bit of popcorn. Lots of luck for Thurs. xxx

OP posts:
kate2179 · 09/11/2008 20:26

Sparkly 4 parties in one day!! !! L is clearly just as popular as her lovely mummy
Good luck with your placement, let us know how it goes. I'm due to OV any time now... day 17 today, last month I think I ov'd day 18-19 ish - I'm not temping atm, it was just stressing me out too much. I might take it tomorrow though, just to check whether it gives me a pre or a post ov temp.

Georgie at the thought of your "poor DH"! I'm interested that your consultant advised you not to "indulge" for the first 12 weeks, did he explain why? DH will be in the same position though , tbh he was a bit horrified to realise that if we are lucky enough to fall pg this month he'll be going without AGAIN, having been pretty hard done by during the last few months due to my awol mojo Poor boy. Suspect he'd survive though! I know what you mean about how difficult it is to decide what to do for the best scan wise. FWIW all being well (and if I can talk my consultant into it ), I'll ideally have a scan at 7.5 weeks, one at 9.5 weeks and then the nuchal at 11.5 IKWYM about each scan not providing long term re-assurance, but for me if it has gone wrong I'd like to know about it asap after it happening. I know that's probably not the most positive way to think about it, that's something I'm still working on!

Thanks for the offer re bed linen, but you have enough on your plate atm, without buying me bedding I don't need and can't afford

Fruity no tips I'm afraid, but I'm so excited for you for your scan on thursday, I can't imagine how you must feel about it

Just watched the dog whisperer. Feel like a complete failure Oh well. Time to drool over the boys on strictly (well, a couple of them anyway...!) xx

cricri · 09/11/2008 21:24

Evening ladies
First of all I can't believe I missed Georgie's BFP the other day Congratulations Really hoping for a sticky bean for you.
And Scully too - excellent news Sending lots of sticky thoughts your way and best of luck to both of you for your early scans. I wonder who is next if Ei's predictions come true?!
Hope all the other pg ladies are doing well too.
Everything is going well here, Elise is feeding well although we've had some marathon feeding sessions over the past couple of days. She's just ramping up my supply but I seem to have become permanently attached to the armchair and don't see much beyond the lounge, bedroom and bathroom! Thank goodness DH is at home and is doing all the cooking Things should settle down over the next few days.
Hope everybody else is doing ok.
Kate agree with the others, be kind to yourself, you're doing everything you can to help your body support a pregnancy. Make sure you enjoy life as well. ((Hugs)) to you.
Will try to check in a bit more regularly although the one-handed typing is frustrating!

scully · 10/11/2008 00:45

How lovely Cricri, you will learn to love the sofa, given how much time you spend there Enjoy it whilst dh is home and do nothing but feed Elise and sleep when she does, the rest of it can wait.
Love the duvet cover Fruity, here it would be called a doona cover Have you put it on your bed yet?
Well done Kate for christening the sofa , you hussey you
As for my bfp, it has sort of sunk in, but I admit to feeling different this time to when I was pregnant with the dd's, or even the 3rd pregnancy (1st m/c). I'm happy, but not assuming anything, not to sound negative, but more preparing myself. I'm like you Kate, although I know that something can go wrong between the 8 and 12wk scans, I still would like the reassurance of a scan at 8wks, rather than finding out at 12wks, which happened the 1st time. No major symptoms, just sore/tingley and larger (.) and very snappy, poor dd1 has been pushing her luck lately anyway, and the last week or so I have had no patience with her
Good timing in terms of me keeping it quiet at dd1's school though, she has 4wks left before summer holidays, so I plan to keep it to myself until the end of Jan when school starts again, as I will only see a few of the parents in Dec/Jan.
HTGG, my last cycle was 26days, but when I add up the last 5mths, they average 30days, so that's what I've worked out my edd from.
Ei, what an interesting dream, I wonder what it meant I relaxed a lot more about the whole ttc thing in the last month, stopped the acupunture, didn't get as stressed when dh was tired and waited until cd33 to test. Hopefully being more relaxed will work for you.
How's this for weird though, in Feb, I got a bfp in the week of my 1st edd and now I get another bfp in the week of my 2nd bfp
Sparkly, 4 parties, you and dd must have been tired after that. Good luck with the placement
Think that's all my news for now, hi to everyone else I've not mentioned, happy Monday

scully · 10/11/2008 00:47

that should read, 'in the week of my 2nd edd'

piper84 · 10/11/2008 23:44

Hi ladies

Just finished writing an huge post and then realised i was posting it in the wrong room

Firstly, HUGE CONGRATS TO CRICRI well done hun

Georgie and Scully huge congrats on both of your BFPS!!!!! hopefully this is the start of a very lucky time for us all

Fruity it must be near time for you 4d scan. I'd say you cant wait want to see loads of pics !

Sparkly how is your placement going?

Ei hope that dream of yours comes true! i never have dreams like that, last dream i had was that i burnt soup!

big waves to everybody else, had my hen party this weekend so am feeling very very very (loads more verys ) shook

FruitynNutty · 11/11/2008 14:25

Piper What did you do on your hen night?

Cricri I'm sooo pleased Elise is feeding well. It's something I'm so nervous about as I barely had any milk for DS Gonna try all I can to make sure I get a good supply this time around It seems to be something people take for granted.
How's she settling in? sleeping well?

Well DP has put our little flat on the market. I think he's absolutely stark raving bonkers but he has spent his entire life moving from place to place. His parents have made money this way. I don't understand any of it and think that this has got to be the worst possible time to sell.
DP and his family think that if we sell now and rent somewhere then when (if!!!) the market gets worse we can buy again.

He says he's just so sick and tired of working so hard and not seeing a single penny for his efforts (me too) He wants to see the profits we should get from this place and actually use some of it to buy a half decent car as well as things we should be able to afford with our wages but can't just now.

I can see where he's coming from but surely if we rent somewhere, our outgoings are going to be more than they are now?
Our mortgage is just over £700 per month. I don't think you can rent a 2 bed flat for much less than £1100 per month around here.

I know we'll have our profits from this place but I don't want to spend all that. It needs to be put aside for a deposit/work on our next place.
I just have to go with the flow though as I don't understand mortgages and money
Bet I'll be the one who has to organise everything too Also, moving heavily pregnant/with a newborn could be a PITA

Bloody men, think they know it all

kate2179 · 11/11/2008 14:30

Afernoon ladies

It's very quiet in here today...

Not much to report here. Think I may have ov'd in the last day or so, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see! Am I right in thinking that you ov the day BEFORE you get the temp rise the following morning? Elementary question Am out of practice!

Fruity I think tomorrow is the BIG DAY??? How you doing?

Piper does "very very shook" mean "hungover like a dog"? If it does, I seem to remember something similar from my hen do! Hope the final preparations are going well

Scully I hope the strange coincidence of the dates is a good omen for you

Cricri really glad things are going well with you and your beautiful daughter When are you going to bring her in here for us all to see? I really fancy some newborn cuddles!

to Mollie & Teehee & Georgie, you girls ok? xx

Ei any more dreams clever lady?

How's school Sparkly Teacher?

Ok, nothing major today, but I'd like the benefit of the collective wisdom of the thread if any of you wise ladies have a spare minute... Do you remember the 'friends' we fell out with during the summer? The ones with the texting saga who were totally horrendous after we lost Thomas? Well their baby is due in about 2 weeks and we haven't been in touch with them for AGES (mind you they haven't contacted us either) I feel like I should send them a message or something, just to say hi (no idea why, but I think I will) Some mutual friends are having a party on sat but we're not going (Having a night off ) I suspect they'll be going & I don't want them to think we're not there because we don't want to see them. A few months ago that would have been the case, but not any more - I seem to have managed to let this one go at last

teeheelaydee · 11/11/2008 20:24

Evening ladies - I was also going to comment at how quite it is, but then I realised I have been a slacker poster the last week or so and therefore should make more of an effort.

Sparkly Teacher (I think that should be your new name - I love it. Noticed on FB that you are liking placement - so pleased. Are you properly 'in charge' and let out on your own

BTW- I have BBC3 on and Celebrity Scissorhands has come on and I honestly do not recognise ONE celebrity, not even "that might be the guy from..." Celebrity reality TV ain't what it used to be !!

Piper Hen night- how exciting? Did you dress up or are you too classy for that!

Scully & Georgie How are you doing? I know it's hard and I should try taking my own advice but try and stay positive and enjoy it as much as you can - there's not alot of point in doing anything else! Any symptoms yet.

Fruity Not many days to go 'til the suspense is over. Mine is on the 26th Nov and we are pretty much decided not to find out what flavour bean it is. I would be if DP did something as big as that while I am pg. Not sure I would want to get off the housing market just now either, I guess you can just see what you'll get for it and if his family are used to it then he must know what he's doing - I would be too much of a scaredy cat and too much of a control freak to let him take the lead.

Cricri Great that Elise is feeding, I am like Fruity, it is one of my biggest fears, especially as my ever negative Mum keeps telling me about people she knows with absesses and difficulties!! I also fear she will utterly do my head in both before and after baby comes.

Kate Depends if you want to start up your friendship again. Bearing in mind her due date is in 2 weeks are you sure you're not doing a 'Mollie' and torturing yourself. I'm sure they won't think it is them that is keeping you away and if they do - so what. Don't do it cos you feel you should do it if you want.

See that is the problem with not posting for a couple of days - you have to do a megapost. Got to take George to vets tomorrow for an x-ray as he won't put his back leg down, he is still running around but on 3 legs and does look funny. Took him to vet last night and it seems to be his toe but the vet needs to sedate him to really find out cos he got VERY grumpy and nearly had the vets hand off!! Got a painkilling injection though so seems much happier - not only will it cost me money but there is bound to some medication to give him, which means I will probably lose a hand.

Got a card from a really old (and previously close, well BF) friend today. She has always been rubbish at staying touch and I guess with all I've had on the last year I have stopped making so much effort, so it was great that she made some - at last. I was really worried that we would totally drift so am v/happy.

Oh BTW- Fruity Stop shopping!!!

Blimey nearly 8:30 - time for bed!

HappyandEiknowit · 11/11/2008 20:34

hi ladies
i hope everyone is doing well
sparkly i hope your placement is going well
piper nice to 'see' you not long to go now im glad your hen night went well, mine was an unmitigated disaster
fruity good luck with tomorrow
scully and georgie i hope you are both starting to feel nicely preggers
hello to everyone else lurking or otherwise
not much to report here i have been super bloated and vomiting today so either it is a symptom or i have caught whatever DD had yesterday ah well only time will tell i suppose
xx ei xx

Emmsy1 · 11/11/2008 21:58

Evening ladies, hope you are all well?
Kate Yep, your temp goes up after ovulation has taken place and hopefully remains up until you get your bfp! I wouldn't worry too much what your friends think about your reasons for not attending the party, if their baby is due in 2 weeks, you may as well wait until the baby is born and send them a congrats card (&/or pressy) we sometimes have to take a step back and stop worrying about 'other' peoples thoughts and feelings, who cares, if they think your not going because of the 'incident' as long as you know why your not going, chill out lovely lady
p.s have posted my birth story in the birth announcements, was trying to hide it as didn't want to frighten any of the first time pregnant mumsmibbes your not alowed to look at it until your wee baby is born!
sparkly how did it go with your placement?
I can't believe you went to 4 parties, I took E to 2 the other Saturday and it nearly killed me, I have another this Saturday, she has a much better social life than I do I cant believe how well Ian is doing with his learning to read, he mastered all his letters so I started him on a load of key stage 1 words, he knows approx 30 words already thanks for the advice xx
Scully good timing with the summer hols coming up,really wish our summer was just approaching, the weather has been awlful today, very cold and windy, keep us updated on any symptoms, did you have any sickness with any of your other pregnancies? I know what you mean about wanting an earlier scan, it was really hard for me to come to terms that there was no baby, when I had a blighted ovum back in 2000, and even though I had another 2 m/c before Amy was conceived that were early ones, I really wanted an early scan to help me feel a little more confident with my pregnancy, piggin NHS wouldn't let me have my first until I was 10 wks +4 days! Its going to be wonderful to go through this pregnancy with you and 'see' you deliver a beautiful baby at the end of it XX
piper glad you had a 'drunken' hen night, hope all goes well for you both X

cricri hello 'Mummy' how proud does it make you feel! Are you getting that lovely warm feeling every time you look at Elise, its tuly amazing isn't it. I get it every time I look at Amy, I just love her to bits, every little expression on her tiny face makes my heart melt(I know you will be going through the same bonding process)enjoy it and cherish every bit of it, they really do grow so quickly, try to remember to take some photos over the next few months its so easy to forget when your busy feeding/changing etc...

mibbes nearly your turn hun! x
fruity only 2 more sleeps until scan! bet you can't wait, I can't believe how fast it's going, doesn't seem like 5 mins ago when you were on a real 'downer' over your PCOS and I was getting really worried that you would never get a bfp, can't wait for the whole group to have them (or babies of course!)
Amy has started to sleep a little longer now,she wakes up at 3-4 hour intervals, its had when they first come out of hospital and they are only taking about 40mls, you seem to be feeding all day long, I didn't have any help from my family when I came out of hospital, my Mother has only seen Amy 3 times since she was born and that was for a total of 3 hours and Amy was a month old last Friday, I hadn't even finished 'nesting' because I was doing a lot of running around and looking after 'other' family members children, up until the day before Amy was born, this has really opened my eyes, they don't give anything if they're not getting anything back in return, hate to say this, but I feel quite bitter towards the lot of them, not really good for you is it!
Ei your dreams are so good for the morale of this group, just need to see if you can dream up enough ++ for all the girls who want one
big wave to HTGG and THLD hope you are both ok x
mollie had a phone call from my office last week, they told me that they can not let me know if my request for additional leave will be be granted he said that it will depend on the business needs at the time and that they will re-submit my request either in Jan or Feb, I'm supposed to go back in June but have asked for an extra 52 weeks unpaid leave as per advice from personnel because of Amy's birth, its horrible not knowing if I have to go back then, really dont want to leave Amy with a childminder when shes so young (unless its Fruity of course! and Ian doesn't start school until Sep 09, and we will have the summer hols to worry about with other children, I will just have to wait and see what they say, Mum was supposed to be looking after Amy but with everything that's happened in our family lately thats just out of the question, hope your ok hun xx

FruitynNutty · 11/11/2008 22:44

Evening all

Emmsy You've just put a tear in my eye saying that (of joy of course ). I can't believe it either I was so down about the PCOS, I really didn't think I'd ever be able to have any more babies.
Sometimes I forget how lucky I really am. I keep going on about how lovely it would be to have a girl but then realise how lucky I am and think how just as lovely it would be to have another boy. We'll see on Thursday! Yep, Only 2 more sleeps!

Teehee not long now! Are you excited about the scan? You're very good not finding out. I'm so impatient. I just have to know. I can't wait a moment longer!
I will try to stop shopping - really I will!

Right, I'm off to bed now so sweet dreams everyone!
xx
