Hello Georgie Cross posts

cricri · 03/11/2008 17:00

Thanks for your lovely message Emmsy and lovely to see you I can't believe Amy is nearly a month old - time just flies!
Kate Hope all went well this afternoon and that she's given you the go-ahead to ttc. Fingers crossed for you!
Georgie Sorry you're still running around like mad. Is there no way you can get somebody else to do some of the things you have to do so that you get at least a bit of time to yourself?
Mollie Hope you're feeling better after your indulgences
Well, I decided to have the sweep yesterday afternoon. Mw couldn't find my cervix as it was tucked behind baby's head which is as low as she's ever seen one so she thinks labour will be very quick when it does happen! Anyway, at 6pm last night I felt my waters go - not a huge gush but enough to realise what was happening. It was only an egg-cup's worth in the end but I called the delivery suite and the community mw called me back and gave me her phone number to call during the night if anything happened. She was convinced it would but nothing did Anyway, she came back this morning to see me and suggested I go to the hospital for monitoring, which I did this afternoon. All is well and... I've managed to get to 4cm dilation and 75% cervix effacement somehow without noticing The registrar was ready to whip me up to the labour ward there and then! Told him I was having a home delivery and got the hell out of there! Baby had better come quickly because they've booked me for an induction at 9am tomorrow if not because of my waters going. Hopefully it won't come to that. I was surprised because the trace only registered one contraction during the half hour I was being monitored which is weird, and I didn't even feel that really, just a tightening. The community mw popped round a short while ago to see how I was doing after being informed of the situation by the hospital and was just amazed She said she was gutted not to be on duty tonight which is really sweet, but she also said that the ones who are on duty are really nice. Let's hope things carry on like this! My doula is on standby. DH will be able to start filling the pool as soon as he gets in from work shortly. I'll keep you updated - lots of positive labour vibes please as I would really like to avoid induction! It's quite surreal to think that I might be having my baby tonight...
Hope everybody else is OK

MollieMooma · 03/11/2008 17:09

CriCri Just a quickie for you, will catch up with the others later, good luck missus sounds like things are imminent. I wish you a very quick, pain free labour and can't wait to hear all about it and see the pictures. I am so excited for you, take care x

HappyandEiknowit · 03/11/2008 18:23

oh cricri im so excited for you amazing how you have had a painless early labour!! excellent!! it sounds like your uterus is very efficient i hope you manage to get through the next stage with as little pain as possible now get bouncing on that ball
xx ei xx

teeheelaydee · 03/11/2008 18:37

Ooooh Cricri How exciting! It could be happening as we speak. I hope you get the birth you hoped for but if you don't the chances are you will see your little girl tomorrow. Wow!!

Emmsy Lovely to 'see' you, can't believe that a month has gone already and you are back with words of wisdom already. You even stopped me panicking about giving birth.

Kate Glad the party was OK and I would imagine that meeting another comrade far out weighed your FIL not knowing how long a human pg is!! Hope you get on OK with your appointment - let us know.

Mollie Impromtu p*ss ups are great and I love getting drunk and still being able to get to bed early!! (Not now obviously!!)

Fruity LOL at your whiplash - the things we do for beauty - men will never understand the dangers

Sparkly Hope you are OK - Where are you? We miss you - and have much cake saved for you.

Georgie Take a breath!! In out in out. You do sound more upbeat though or are you just pretending. Neices both went silent when we told them and just starred at us - v/unusual for them, they talk ALOT. Showed eldest the scans when I took her to see High School Musical and she said "Is it really cold in your tummy for the baby" (aaargh) Apparently my bro text me and they have been sorting out books they don't want to give to the baby and they have decided it is a girl (Oh dear could be a dissapointment if not!!) Decorating is getting there but slowly as I am trying to take things easy. Still getting a few twinges and have been v/negative about pg last few days but feeling a bit more upbeat today.

Must go - Hey to anyone I missedxx

HeyThereGhoulyGirl · 03/11/2008 19:54

Hey guys. So. I have some news.......

JUST GOT A BFP .

Am shaking. Sh&t scared and grinning from ear to ear. Had wondered what was going on as feeling rather weird this month. But given all my past phantom pg symptoms I just put it to the back of my mind.

I just hope to god that this one sticks.

Of course the timing sucks with everything that is going on. But we'll just have to let the DD's watch tv solidly for the next 9 months!

I'm not due til Wed. But did test about half an hour ago and it came up positive within 10 secs. That's a good sign right?

Am enjoying my last glass of red wine.

Send me all your good vibes please.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

MollieMooma · 03/11/2008 20:28

OMG OMG OMG OMG Georgie I am so excited for you Congratulations, sending you all the sticky positive vibes in the world and a huge hug to go with it. Now you must take it easy x x x x
Emmsy I can't believe Amy is one month already, how time flies. Lovely post on the m/c thread too x
Kate How did it go this afternoon? I can understand your impatience and and also your nervousness, I think you will know when it is right to TTC yourself deep down.
TeeHee Sorry to hear you're still feeling low, keep your chin up and sending you a big fat hug to try and cheer you up x
AF finally left me yesterday after 7 whole days, DH bought condoms yesterday said he had a flashback to his teens but with slightly less emmbarassment especially when he had to ask the lady in Boots where the non-latex ones were I can't remember the last time we used a contraceptive, gosh how times a change!

Hello to everyone else hope you are all OK

HeyThereGhoulyGirl · 03/11/2008 21:06

Cricri Loads and loads of happy, positive, quick vibes going out to you tonight. Hope she makes her appearance on time! What an exciting time for you. Ooooooo, an going to be on tenrehooks all night. .xxxxxxxxxxx

mibbes · 03/11/2008 21:28

OMG cricri it is all kicking off - you make it sound so easy and pain-free (which is exactly what I like to hear !) - am soooo excited for you, keep us posted with any updates

OMG HTGG fabulous new hun - 10 seconds is indeed very quick so fingers srossed that is a sign of a super-stickty bean ! Congrats

Emmsy lovely to hear from you - did you post your birth story ? I am also that Amy is 1 month already !

Kate how was today's appt ? Hope all is well and that is great news about the MC lady who has offered to support you next time

{{waves}} to everyone else - am getting sore wrists, can't type any more. Ooh except... 4 days left to work then on mat leave - weyhey !

kate2179 · 03/11/2008 21:34

WOOOOOHOOOOO GEORGIE!!!! Fantastic news, I'm so happy for you!! Bloody hell! Just goes to show you never know when it will happen! Will be keeping everything crossed for you xx

And as for you Mrs Cricri! Bloody bloody hell!! Can't believe you're in labour as I type!! Really hope it all goes well for you. FWIW if you end up having to have an indiction, even the people at the Naturopathic centre recommend an epidural, it's a totally different experience from natural labour. But hopefully you won't have to find out about that!

My review tonight went really well, she was very pleased with me At first she said we could start trying straight away if we wanted to, but when she realised I should OV within about the next week she said it might be better to wait til next month. But having come home to news of one impending baby and one BFP I'm not so sure... Maybe I'll email her tomorrow. But it was good nevertheless

Meanwhile, our horrible dogs are driving me not so slowly round the twist... Lola is constantly peeing all over the carpet, no matter how often we take her outside, and Nemo's genberally being a grumpy sod and making things difficult.... aaaaarrrrggghhhhh! Would someone please give me a break?!?!?!

scully · 04/11/2008 00:01

Congrats HTGG, what great news Hope things are progressing well for you Cricri, and that it continues to be painfree for as long as possible
cd29 today for me, also would have been my edd this week for the April m/c, but trying not to think about that too often.
Great that your review went well Kate and you've been given the go ahead to ttc when you're ready to.
I have a list of jobs to do around here, before going to work tomorrow, but it's humid and I can't be bothered, basically
Hi to everyone else

teeheelaydee · 04/11/2008 07:28

Just a quickie as have got to get dressed and get to work.

HTGG OMG OMG OMG OMG That is just sooo fantastic. Everything is crossed for you, I am so glad you didn't give up despite everything thats been going on for you.

kate2179 · 04/11/2008 09:11

Scully hope you're ok. Anniversaries suck, so sad that we all seem to have so many of them
In fact your post made me realise that yesterday was 1 year since my erpc, and actually I'm pretty sure that sunday was 1 year since Georgie's - what a difference a year makes hey Georgiegirl?!?!?

FruitynNutty · 04/11/2008 09:12

Waheyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!! grin] Georgie You must be on cloud nine right now. Take it easy and enjoy every minute of it Even when the real tiredness and MS kick in

Cricri I'm hoping Little Miss
Cricri has made an appearance by now
I really hope you won't need to be induced. I had to be with DS and wouldn't have coped at all without an epidural.

Mollie great news about AF finally leaving you

Kate Just go for it lady

Oh I'm loving all this good news. It's about bloody time too.

Going to Wacky Warehouse this morning with the horrorbags.

Have a nice day everyone. I'll be popping in from time to time to check up on your progress Cricri

FruitynNutty · 04/11/2008 09:14

*Scully I missed your post. Sorry to hear about the anniversary

FruitynNutty · 04/11/2008 09:20

Oh Mollie and Georgie and I know you found my hair straightening whiplash accident so hilarious but I actually feel better now.
I'll remember that when you have a beauty injury
"No pain no gain" eh

HappyandEiknowit · 04/11/2008 09:33

hi ladies
just a quick one to say...
georgie congratulations on your bfp you must be following the rule 'new basement walls, n ew baby'
cricri im on pins waiting for news from you good luck if it hasnt all finished yet
xx ei xx

HeyThereGhoulyGirl · 04/11/2008 11:36

Cricri Just thought you would appreciate a little cheer WWWWWWWHHHHHOOOPPPPPEEEEEEE, c'mon girl, give it some welly . Hope Little Miss Cricri is here and you are having a well deserved cuppa and slice of toast. xxxxxx

Thanks guys for all your lovely comments. I know it's hard to hear news like this. So it makes it all the more special that you're pleased for me.

Am sitting here in my cold little house in Streatham. Waiting for estate agents, decoraters, gardeners and electricians. Freezing my little ass off . It stinks in here as well. God knows what they were cooking but it's pretty rancid. Ugh.

Kate Fab news about your test results. Are you going to wait or just plough straight in? perhaps this could be a practice month ? Or a 'sod it, lets just go for it' month? Am sure the dogs are just 'going thru a phase'! Little buggers. I'd lock yourself in the bathroom with lrage glass of wine juice and have a nice long, hot soak. With music so you can drown out any whimpering from the mutts!

Scully Really sorry to hear that you've got an anniversary coming up. Hope you can squeeze a little 'me time' into your week. We're here if you need some tissues or a shoulder to cry on. You don't sound very happy petal.

Mollie So glad that AF has gone. And PMSL about your DH and the condoms. Can just see them pinging off in all directions whilst in the throws of passion!!!!!

TeeHee Why you been feeling negative about your pg my love? Talk to us. Get it out in the open. Don't let it fester.

kate2179 · 04/11/2008 12:08

Right ladies. I need your expert opinions (Apart from Cricri who might be a teeny bit busy right now )

WHAT SHOULD I DO? Do we start trying this month or wait til next month? I should OV in about a week.

The Naturopathic review says I'm anaemic, and my progesterone is a bit low. Other than that I think I'm in pretty good shape. And that's "low" on the naturopathic scale, which I imagine would be absolutely fine so far as conventional medicine is concerned.

So should I wait another month and take stuff to help my blood so that I'm in the best possible position to start trying?

However, I have a nightmare trial starting at the end of january which is already giving me sleepless nights. If I fall pg next cycle I'd be about 9 weeks when the trial starts, which is when I've been told is the highest risk time for mc as it's about when the placenta takes over.

Whereas if we try this month and I'm lucky enough to fall pg this month I'd be 13 weeks for the start of the trial and hopefully with a successful nuchal under my belt.

I know even if we do try I prob won't fall this month or next month, but IT'S DOING MY HEAD IN!!! I really want to try this month but not if I'm at an increased risk of mc cos my blood's not up to scratch. Plus, with Thomas I conceived on 3rd Jan and I'd really like to be a bit ahead of where I was last time if I possibly can... aaaarrrrgggghhhhhh!!

I've emailed the lady who did my review yesterday to ask her if she thinks there would be an increased risk if we tried this month, and hopefully I should be talking to my consultant this aft about the test results cos I missed a call from him this morning

So what do you think? I'm sorry for going on especially when I know so many of you have more serious things to think about, but I really value your opinions

MollieMooma · 04/11/2008 13:00

Kate What do you mean more serious things! I think your TTC issue is serious and I say GO FOR IT !!!!!! Jump your DH's bones and get napalmed (Georgie you introduced us to napalming and it obviously worked!)
I think you need to stop worrying your pretty little head about it and let nature take it's course, I am a big believer in what will be will be and if your meant to be pg when your trial starts then you will be. If not you won't. Easier said than done I know but I really think you should try and relax and see what happens, but if you beat me to it I'll cry

Right I have to go to lunch now but I'll catch up with everyone else later, also need you lot to tell me off as well Will confess all in a bit x

FruitynNutty · 04/11/2008 13:08

I agree with Mollie I say go for it!
I'm very very impatient though. If I want something, I want it NOWWWWWWW!

Really though Kate I do think you should just go with the flow. See what happens

SparklyPseudonym · 04/11/2008 16:28

Hello lovely ladies,

I know I haven't been around much but I've been lurking (of course!!)
Haven't got time for a catch up now but will try later...all those weeks of not working have caught up with me and I have loads to do.

Just spotted on Nov antenatal thread that Cricri had Elise Vivienne at 0630am this morning weighing 7lbs 15oz. Unfortunately she ended up going to hospital for an assisted delivery but both her and Elise are doing well and should be home later today!!
So CONGRATULATIONS!!! Our second thread baby!
Can't wait for her to post some piccies.

Huge congrats to HTGG. Lots and lots of sticky vibes to you.

Sending everyone else lots of love. xxxx

HappyandEiknowit · 04/11/2008 18:01

oh my god!! excellent news cricri im so made up for you and a beautiful name (elise was on my list for DD) i hope you are both getting to know eachother and you are able to get some rest im looking forward to reading your birth story
xx ei xx

HeyThereGhoulyGirl · 04/11/2008 18:56

Hey cricri, just wanted to pass on my best congrats for the birth of Elise. What a beautiful name. Hope you're relaxing as much as you can. And really hope you enjoy the first couple of days before the haords of admiring family members decend! xxxxx

Kate I second what Mollie and Fruity have said. Just let go, and see what happens. You never know, you could fall first month (will have my fingers crossed that you do). I think you've been under so much stress one way and another this year, that it would be lovely for you to just relax, enjoy your DH and just have a damn good shag . Why don't you just make sure that you eat lots of iron rich foods, just incase. I think given all the alternative therapies you've been having, you're in a really good space now to concieve.

Hi to everyone else. Just off to cook supper. Back later.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

SparklyPseudonym · 04/11/2008 19:56

I'm back and am finally taking some time to catch up.....
It's been ages since I posted last but nothing has really changed. Am feeling a lot better since having a bit of a meltdown where me and DP fell out massively - neither of us had communicated our feelings about the m/c in the right way and we both felt as though we had hit a brick wall. We had a few very difficult days but finally sat down and talked about our feelings and things have been a lot better since.
I've got loads of work on at uni - assignments due in this week and school placement starting next week. It's such a scary time but I'm looking forward to meeting my final class as a student (and am looking more forward to getting it over with!)

Kate There don't seem to be any 'real' reasons for waiting another month so I think you should give it a go, if it feels right, and I'll keep everything crossed for you. Your doggies are beautiful btw - I'd love a puppy!
HTGG How are you feeling? Has the tiredness/sickness kicked in yet? Did you suffer alot during your last pregnancies? Congratulations again.
Fruity Just over a week until your scan...will they tell you what flavour bean is then or will you have to wait for 4d? Bet you can't wait!
Mollie What do you have to confess missy? You haven't come back soon enough to reveal all....
Scully Am thinking of you with edd approaching. Any chance this could be your month? Would be great to hear some news from you.
Cricri Am wondering whether you and your lovely little bundle are home yet. If you are, take it easy. You know where we are if you need anything.
Piper It's been yonks since I spoke to you. I can't believe how quickly the wedding is coming around - how exciting. Can't wait to see the piccies .
Emmsy Hope you, Amy and the other little ones are ok. Lots of love xxxx
Teehee [waves] How are you feeling?? Have been thinking of you lots, esp because of your mmc anniversary. If you're not feeling great then please post. I know I haven't been around much but you can always email/msn etc. I'd love to be able to support you in the way you've supported me. Look after yourself and take it easy.
Mibbes How many weeks are you now lady? How are things? Any goss?

Right - a massive post but that should teach me not to stay away for too long. Have some work to do tonight so think I'll need my mates Ben and Jerry to help. Don't think I've forgotten anyone but if I have, I didn't mean to. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
