Nat, I thought that one wouldn;t have got past you I think we are cut from the same cloth .
Will deffo have to have a look at labour thread now - I don't suppose you have a link do you?
GYO, 4 months was well long enough off for me with dd1 (severe colic, night and day - I was begging work to let me go back early . I was also pregnant 6 months after dd1 was born, and then stayed off 5 months with dd2. By the time dd3 came along I was really into it and enjoyed my maternity leave immensely - went back after 6ish months from memory (couldn't survive as a family of 5 on meaternity pay much longer), plus had hols to add on so did a 3 day week for another month to ease myself back in .
Right, off to class - speak later x

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 10/10/2008 10:11

Links? Not sure I'll get them all in the right order, or even get them all, there were some spin offs in chat that will have dissapeared.

Will have a go... Give me a while!

SesHasapinkline · 10/10/2008 10:17

Morning all
Busy on here

Our dogs are loving the new house and garden. DH cut the grass yesterday. He reckons it took him 2 hrs but it does look better!

Scary thought about booking nursery places but I guess reality. I'm hoping to go back 3 or 4 days a week but will have to negotiate with them. Haven't told them I'm pregnant yet. Think I'll wait until after 12 week scan.

GruffaloSoldier · 10/10/2008 10:19

Thanks NJ!

Gyo - are you planning to go back full time when your DC is 9 months or part time?

Im still not sure what I am going to do. As I am a nanny, when I do go back I will be able to take DC with me but I'm not sure whether to do a couple of days, or 3 or 4 days. Hopefully will get away with 2 days as I do fancy being a stay at home mum for a couple of years, oooh and then have my next DC

GYo · 10/10/2008 10:34

Hi
At the moment I'm planning to go back full time for financial reasons but a lot depends on whether DH gets a better job in the interim (he is finishing his masters by xmas). Ideally I'd prefer to get something 3 days a week but will have to see how things pan out. Also- I am quite sure i will feel diff about work when it comes to it.

The type of work I do is really the issue. Im expected to be "mobile" so could get sent to a project at the other end of the country and be away 4nights a week. Having said that they are very accommodating of new mothers and want women to go back to work so its unlikely that I'd get anything like that immediately. But even if I got a project doing what Im doing now and having to work out ofin central London, I'd be struggling as I currently leave at 6.40am and dont get home til gone 7pm- and thats doing minimum hours...

Could get another job but I'd never get paid what I do now...

OMG that was a very long me, me me answer- can see its something that bothers me!

tinkisgoingtohaveagirl · 10/10/2008 10:38

kay soz for kidney infections they must be horrid and for lack of energy not long now

nat sorry to hear of illnesses your end hope that get better soon

gyo glad that you like your doppler ye for hearing hb

GYo · 10/10/2008 10:38

Gruff- definately with you on thinking about next DC. My DH thinks Im mad, but I want to get them all done quickly so they are close in age etc.

Also easier workwise - in the long run! as I can look after whilst being off on mat leave etc!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 10/10/2008 10:55

I think these are in order:

One

two

First biggy

Second biggy

Think this is the next one, but have a feeling another biggy got lost in chat

Oh, think this might be it

Do you need anymore? I can find at least another 2 or 3... (tip: it was just before xmas so sometimes my name was NativityJane)

(BTW, didn't take me all that long, DS2's temp spiked, have been trying to cool him down, he is asleep now - thank goodness. Poor little thing, he looks wiped out)

GruffaloSoldier · 10/10/2008 11:11

Ah Gyo, sounds like you have lots to think about! Im sure what ever you decide it will be all good. Im not planning on being a nanny forever. Want to do PHd, probably to be Educational Psychologist but its three years so want to have my babies first, then hopefully do further qualifications later. Theres so much to think about and plan, it does get so overwhelming!

Tink - ah I see, that makes sense! and I do know that babies get through a hell of a lot of clothes in a day! You better go and get more

I cant wait to get to the buying stage, although will have to do it on the sly as DH is adamant we dont need to do ANY shopping for baby til last few weeks stupid man!

So far have bought 1 outfit and a cuddly duck toy (so cute) which I got after each scan. We got given a lovely nursery rhymes book from MIL when we told her we were expecting! Oh and I have bought 'The Gruffalo' board book of course and also Peepo board book which I read to the bump now and again

SesHasapinkline · 10/10/2008 11:18

There is lots to think about and plan!

Tink - love your shopping
I've not bought anything yet but have got a nice empty nursery in new house!

Had cooker delivered this morning. After a week without one, am tempted to bake a chocolate cake and cook a roast!

GYo · 10/10/2008 11:46

You are right Gruff- there is so much to think about. Good to take each bit as it comes. Ie have the babies first! A PhD sounds great, nice to have a plan

Ses- how exciting to get a new cooker! enjoy cookng something for the first time!

We had a new kitchen in our new house last year after 6mths of having no cooker at all- when we could finally use the oven, i'd forgotten how to use it!

kayzisexpecting · 10/10/2008 11:51

ARGH!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone have small boobs they would like to swap with my large ones?

I'm struggling to find any decent bras!!!!

GYo · 10/10/2008 12:13

LOL Kay- if you'd asked me that before my BFP I'd have said yes! but since being pregnant even the tiny change in size is enough...

I will take a share if anyone else is willing too!

kayzisexpecting · 10/10/2008 12:19

Aparently I'm a 44D!! I might cry

GruffaloSoldier · 10/10/2008 12:22

Hi Kay - have you tried bravissimo? thats where i get mine from!

Wow Ses - fax me over that roast! yum!

Post has arrived but no MSc results, however I did get my downs screening test result and it was 1 in 24000 so think thats good.

Getting very hungry now - need to move my bum!

kayzisexpecting · 10/10/2008 12:25

Yeah I have but they dont go big enough. I think I will have to go to Marks and Spencer to get properly measured.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 10/10/2008 12:40

I thought Bravissimo went up to a 50 back size? Or am I imagining it? Have you tried that ermmm, the underwear part of Simply Be? Can't remember what it's called now.... closer or something...

tinkisgoingtohaveagirl · 10/10/2008 12:45

hi

poor u kay i can definetly swap mine are a 36 b before i got pregnant were a 32aa.
m&s are good4 getting measured
soory u didnt get results gruff it is horrible waiting for post downs results are very low

GruffaloSoldier · 10/10/2008 12:48

kay just did a google and www.figleaves.com do 44D!!

GruffaloSoldier · 10/10/2008 12:49

in their maternity bras that is

kayzisexpecting · 10/10/2008 12:56

I must have missed those Gruff.

kayzisexpecting · 10/10/2008 12:58

Bravissimo seem to go up to a 40 back in maternity stuff.

I dont think it can be right 44D. I'm still having to wear my 38DD normal bras. Its so stupid.

Diege · 10/10/2008 13:03

Afternoon! Class was good, and now having a large bowel of fruit salad as trying to get my 5 servings of fruit and veg a day .
NAT - thnaks for the thread links Have saved to faves so will have a good read later. It's like getting a big pile of gossipy mags .
ON that note anyone want a new unread copy of Junior Pregnancy and Baby? I have 2 copies (don't ask) of the new edn and will send to first who asks (free postage too) .
GRUFF, agree lots to think of re: work, and lots of people will tell you what they think is best for you!Agree, Phd and young children are a tough mix - I did mine in my nearly 20s straight after degree, and tbh the thought of starting one now makes me quake .
GYO sounds like you have a great job there - maybe you could apply for flexible work - it's a legal entitlement to at least apply and maybe they could add some degree of flexibility for you? It does sound very demanding though!
Great going on clothes-front TINKS . You do know you're going to have to have a 3rd baby to keep up the shopping momentum.
KAYS - I will swop you my boobs for a day (A-B cup, rising to a moderate C when pregnant). I don't envy you, as even though you won't know my worlkd of chicken fillets and padded bras, I can imagine from what my generously-endowed) sister says what a pain it can be .
Right, beat try and get bleedin' cockatiel back in his cage .
Oh and I keep meaning to mention this. Dd2 can 'cornet' as one of the words in her spelling test. My juvenile sense of humour was triggered when I saw that she's written C*nt instead

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 10/10/2008 13:14

Kay, who told you you are a 44D? You'd never get a 38" band done up around 44", it just wouldn't fit.

Diege, LMAO at spelling test You're poor DD, you have to keep it till she is 18!

kayzisexpecting · 10/10/2008 13:17

This website did. I put in my measurements and thats what it came out with.
