Thought I would start a thread for the few of us who havent got a clue about what is going on! Im TTC #2 and currently on CD23 of what I am hoping is a good month, have been doing lots of BD and have been using Ov sticks although I am rapidly loosing faith in them! Not sure when AF is due or even if I have ovulated yet! I have weird cycles because of Endometriosis and was very lucky to concieve my DC but struggling this time round and thought for some strange reason it would be fine this time too!

So anyone in the same boat as me please come join me so we can be confused together x

Hi Dusty - hope your OPK have given you a positive by now. The EWCM can precede ovulation by as much as a week, so keep testing and I' sure you'll get a +ve on the kit. But keep having sex in any case!! Especialy when the EWCM is present, that is your body telling you that you are most fertile.

I would imagine that your early miscarriage/chemical pregnancy would not mess up your cycle. Don't worry about that.

Also it's true that some women don't ovulate every month. On average a healthy, normal woman will have one month per year when she doesn't ovulate, this is called an anovulatory cycle. So nothing to worry about there. If you have regular periods and have conceived before there should be no reason why it doesn't happen again for you, and soon!! Fingers crossed for you. (((hugs)))

Hi all feel a bit guilty for starting this thread and then not coming on for ages! Have scanned the thread but not had a chance to read through properly!

Im now on CD39 and really think I am pg - have sore boobs which seem bigger also have metalic taste and feel sicky but think im getting my hopes up for nothing. Dont know when to test or when next AF is due so not sure what to do next - Anyone any ideas?

Hope everyone else is doing ok? x

LMM you have the patience of a saint if you have not tested yet!!! What has been the lenth of your longest cycle? That would be a good time to test.

I remember the sore boobs like I had been kicked in the chest. I started testing then but I got 2 -ve's two days running before the +ve test so it does take a few days for the hormome levels rise enough to be picked up on a test.

Fingers crossed for you!!

littlemissmischief · 01/10/2008 14:21

Thanks AnnasBananas knew you would be the voice of reason

This year my longest cycle has been 56 days, although all the others have been 40-41 days. The other thing is that when i was pg with my DS it took 29 days to come up positive so i know even if i am it wont come up yet! x

Hey everyone!

How are things going for all of you? I am quite excited as my AF started today since having my inplant removed 3 weeks ago (woohoo) ... have never been so happy to have a AF.. Least once this has ended we can begin properly TTC#2!!

LMM- this could be it.. by the sounds of it as I had the metallic taste and was very sicky from very early on! But I would still wait until around ur 40/41 days to test considering that it took 29days to show with ur DS! Hopefully this is the month for you! x

Hi - new to all this so hello everyone. Just want to throw a question out there to see if anyone can help me work out what's going on....
I came off the pill 7 months ago to start TTC. No period for 6 months, then short one, then nothing. Also starting to get acne again - had it pretty bad when i was in mid twenties but changing pill cleared it up. Went to GP after 1st period took 6 months. she was v unhelpful just said i should take folic acid and use medicated soap for the acne - ahhrggh. Is it too soon to go back to docs to beg for tests to see what's wrong?! not overweight or excess hair so thinking it's not PCOS....Also charting temp and looks like im not ovulating and my temperature's always low (36oC)
any thoughts?

AttilaTheMeerkat · 04/10/2008 07:55

Hi hana,

I don't think that PCOS cannot be ruled out here as yet - you have two possible symptoms of this which are the absent periods and the adult onset acne. PCOS is a very individualistic disorder and affects each woman with it very different. Not every woman therefore with it is either overweight and or has hirsutism.

In such circumstances temp charting is not actually worth doing.

I would return to your and see another GP (certainly not th eone you previously saw) and ask for a blood test to be done to see what your hormone levels are like. They must test your LH and FSH levels around day 3 in the cycle. As your periods are irregular you can instead go by calendar days.

If LH and FSH are out of sync (usually with PCOS LH levels are higher than FSH levels) I would ask for a referral to a gynae at a subfertility unit. Both of you will need further tests.

HTH, do not be fobbed off!!

Attila

Thanks Attila for the advise, i think you're right - i've booked an appt with GP for tomorrow so will see how it goes! I suppose my worry is that they will say i have to wait longer for things to settle down before i can get the tests. so confused about what's going on - i just want some answers!

AnnasBananas · 09/10/2008 14:39

Hena, ask for full range of blood tests to check hormone levels. This will at least confirm if you are ovulating or not.

bluebell4 · 14/11/2009 11:07

I am completely clueless & even struggling to work out what some of these posts mean! Glad I'm not alone. Only just started ttc & am reading everything around. Any tips?

notnowbernard · 14/11/2009 11:15

Just seen this -

I will join too if that's ok!

Am having bloods done next week to see if I'm ovulating

Just started TTC#3, but my cycle is all over the place and has not been regular in anyway, shape or form since birth of dc2 3.3 years ago

bluebell4 · 14/11/2009 11:54

Hi, after I posted I realsed the thread was really old, so glad to see someone else on here! Good luck with the bloods. Do you have to wait long for the results?

givecarrotsachance · 14/11/2009 12:16

bluebell it can be pretty difficult interpreting everything on here. Anything I can help with?

notnowbernard · 14/11/2009 12:17

Oh! Didn't notice the date either

Hopefully those ladies have either had babies or are pg now

Have to wait about 5 days, I think. The result should tell what stage of the cycle I'm in, and whether I have ovulated, or an about to (it's on Day 21 of my current cycle)

Can I help you at all with the abbreviations etc?

bluebell4 · 14/11/2009 21:40

Thanks!! CD & AF would be good!

givecarrotsachance · 15/11/2009 19:51

CD= cycle day, counted from the 1st day of full bleeding, not spotting. This is used in stats so we can see who is likely to be POAS (pissing on a stick) shortly!

AF = Aunt Flo = period

Cherrybaby · 21/04/2010 15:46

Hi everyone,

this sounds like the kind of place for me too!
We are also trying to conceive DC#2 - although it is very early stages, i am slightly worried as my periods are just all over the place, ive had some constant bleeding for the past two months, just like a period. Doc says its just hormones and it will work itself out - but thats not all that helpful when you want to know when your ovulating!

Is there anyone else who has irregular periods/regular bleeding, and TTC??

Cherrybaby · 21/04/2010 15:49

Blimey, just noticed the date!

Hows everyone getting on with TTC?
