I do manage to eat lots of fruit and veg though - just accompanied by LOTS of everything else.

Diege · 11/09/2008 15:02

Afternoon! Back from lovely Tapas restaurant in the village, but obviously something didn;t agree with me and have been on tiolet for the past half hour . Oh well, lovely meal and none of the calories
Food wise I'm super-healthy at the moment [smug] after mmc. Gave up coffee, tea and diet coke (I had the headaches too XMAS for about 3 days) and now just have two cups of decaff tea a day and lots of fizzy water. Try and eat as much fruit and veg as poss (not a great fruit fan)and have super duper fertility supplements too. Still have a blow out once a week - takeaway etc, but don't have my old sugar cravings anymore.
TINKS - have you though about fruit smoothies etc? I think the sugar and artifical sweeter outdo the fruit in ribena and squash etc - maybe something like fizzy water mixed with fresh juice? Cheese grated on top of veggies? Veggy lasagne? Current guidelines suggest not more than one servinf of mackeral a week in pregnany according to M&B mag , so you can use that one as ammo for dh

Hi everyone,Thanks for the warm welcome especialy EmmahasaBFP who introduced me to this website! i so need to get pregnant now i'm so jealous ya minx!
I can't wat to start looking at new prams and nursery decorations again!!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 11/09/2008 15:57

Tink, I am still on the Barn Yard stuff, but like I said, I'm likely to change my mind and back again before we buy!

On the food front, I am not a big fruit eater but I find if I 'force' myself to start eating it, I actually enjoy it more than I think I will (grapes, satsumas, and water melon are big players in this game!) I tolerate veggies, problem is: the way I like them cooked takes all the goodness out of them. I like them soft and mushy, and if not with gravy then with butter/olive oil, and lots of it

Apologies to Xmas and Wilson for not saying hello and welcome to the thread Xmas, coke is my downfall, I have either completely cut out or calmed down on all the usual things you should (even my beloved odd ciggarette, I would do almost anything to have just one!!) but coke has been the worst to cut out completely. I drink a lot of water and pure fruit juice, but I can't help the odd coke sneaking in every now and then.

Now I am wondering just how un-healthy I am!! Would never have my eating/drinking habits down and ultra healthy, but this is showing up all my sins in one place!

Diege, hope your erm.... tummy is better now?

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 11/09/2008 16:00

Oh, just to redeem myself a bit, we eat a lot of salad, and it isn't unheard of me to get DH-- to go and get me big plate full in the evening and sit and munch away, after dinner

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 11/09/2008 16:00

Damn it, one word always fucks up!

lardybump · 11/09/2008 16:21

That's what pregnacare is for ladies, so you can relax a bit on your diet..

Diege · 11/09/2008 16:49

Oh well, it's a start LB . What maternity bits did you get?
All this talk of healthy food has had me reaching for the Galaxy Cake bars . So much for sweet cravings having gone...I blame it on af. 'Tummy' is much better thanks Nat

Diege · 11/09/2008 16:51

TINKS - 8 glasses of water a day is one of the best things you can do for your health. Gold star to you (silver to Lardy) Tin for Nat

tinkhasanactivebean · 11/09/2008 16:53

lol poor nat tin

decided to get dd for xmas :-

fairy wonderland, fairy sets, horses and swan carriage, ironing board and iron, cleaning brushes and a couple of other kitchen accessories.

this one is pressing on my bladder today i cant stop weeing.
i have a water every 2 hours

lardybump · 11/09/2008 16:56

Yay I get a silver one.....

I got a top and jeans in Topshop and a pair of grey casual trousers in dotty p's. REally pleased as all my other bits were either to small now I am so fat on my legs, or too big as my bump is not huge yet.

Diege · 11/09/2008 17:15

Sounds great LB, I love TopShop maternity stuff. LOL TINKs I thought your ref to having 'a water every two hours' was you being posh about weeing

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 11/09/2008 17:19

hang on a second, tin? TIN? I take Tink's 8 glasses and raise it by

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 11/09/2008 17:19

LMAO at posh weeing LOL

lardybump · 11/09/2008 17:38

I drink about 6 pints of fluid a day. Sometimes water other times watered down fruit juice...... I eat lots of fruit as well (usually washed down with a nice cake!!) DD can not walk past a starbucks with out screaming mummy cakey.... Dp now knows why sainsburys takes us so long... he he he

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 11/09/2008 17:45

LOL LB, teach 'em well I say!

Actually I must admit, for all of my bad habits, the kids don't do too badly, DS1 won't touch any veg, but will eat fruit, DS2 just eats whatever is put in front of him (including numorous things that aren't made for eating!) and while they both like the odd piece of chocolate, they don't actually eat that much of it because I eat it all first

lardybump · 11/09/2008 18:00

Same as you Nat. DD will eat everything that is put in front of her. She loves fruit and veg and when we are out and I ask what she wants to eat she says blueberrys... Today she has eaten my famous veg chilli (although I took hers out before adding the chilli) which has 9 differnt veg in it...

We do always stop for drink and cake on shopping days but she is more interested in her drink to be honest. I dont mind her having the odd naughty thing because she eats so well..

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 11/09/2008 18:10

Right DH is home, so I am off, might wangle a nice soak in the bath later, my hips are getting worse and worse and it is only in the bath they don't ache.

Anyway, have a nice evening, g'night everyone xxx

lardybump · 11/09/2008 18:16

night NJ have a nice soak....

GruffaloSoldier · 11/09/2008 18:20

Hello everyone

Have had a splitting headache all day

Oh well, day off tomorrow

NJ I def think barnyard - colours are much better for a baby to be looking at. I have read that it is really good to have bright colours in a baby's room.

I am very healthy eat every veg going and have huge bowl of fruit a day and LOVE dried mango to snack on in the day. Since nausea has come am finding it much harder to at so have had some 'unhealthy' slip ups.

My main problem is drinking at the moment I really have to make myself. Although Im loving pink grapefruit juice at the mo.

Never have any caffeine, it gives me migraines anyway.

DH isnt here tonight so Im on my lonesome

Plus I have to cook my own dinner

calsworld · 11/09/2008 18:35

Evening all, DS has been quite poorly today so haven't been able to get on.

Excitingly I've had my mattress and topper delivered today so can't wait for DH to get home so we can lug it upstairs and get it made . ALthough I am slightly nervous that my sheets won't fit as the mattress is a lot thicker than the old one and we've bought a topper as well it will fit godammit

Had to go out and get DS some more milk and calpol this afternoon and while in Sainsbury's he spotted the INTG (In the Night Garden for the uninitiated ) soft toys. Now, he's already got an Iggle Piggle that he's addicted too, but they had a 'makka pakka' which I've never seen anywhere as they're always sold out, and an Upsy Daisy. He got sooooo excited and I felt guilty that I never treat him to anything (except a teletubbies helium ballon in July ) so bought them both for him.

He's been sooooo cute with them, cuddling them all and kissing them etc, picking them up and putting them down. Bless him , he's a very lovely little boy!

tinkhasanactivebean · 11/09/2008 18:37

calsworld · 11/09/2008 18:40

Oops, that was soooo me, me, me.....

Tink - has your name and the word 'shopaholic' ever been mentioned in the same sentence

Diege - Lol at medal awards, think I'd have a tin one for diet but bronze for exercise (may promote self to silver if I'm still running next week!)

GS - Sorry for your headache, try drinking extra water - although I know you're normally really good

Diege (again) - sorry for your dodgy bum! Glad you enjoyed the meal anyway

LB - Maternity bits sound nice

NJ - Am very jealous that you have a playroom to lock the kids put the childrens toys in

Uh oh - DH is home, time to go lug mattresses
