Jools I craved beer when pregnant with my DD and I'm not a beer drinker! Thats it you're having a girl

ExistentialistCat · 04/10/2008 10:08

Hello, lovely girlies, I need to have a bit of a rant...

HOW have I turned from a reasonably grounded woman into this madly unpredictable creature whose mood depends entirely on her morning temperature?! After a week of excitement about raised temps post-OV (now 12 DPO), I had a huge drop in temp this morning. I KNOW it's stupid, but it's made me feel all what's-the-point-of-anything-ish.

How do other people stay sane?

(PS Have managed to keep all this from DH, so that's something, at least. I don't want another of those half-smiling, half-exasperated "How have I ended up married to a lunatic?" looks )

Mylittlebubble · 04/10/2008 13:18

Existcat - first signs! I had to make numberous apologies to people once I found out I was pregnant as I had been a bitch from hell to everyone before that and had no idea what was wrong with me!!!

ExistentialistCat · 05/10/2008 10:37

Hello my dears,

Well, it's a big glass of wine and a very hot bath for me tonight [wistful wink]. AF arrived this morning.

I'm disappointed, of course, but also sort of pleased to have a period after 17 years on the pill. And it's easier to know one way or the other than to keep waiting and second-guessing.

I think one of my main issues may be scant CM - any ideas on how to increase this? I'm taking evening primrose oil, swigging grapefruit juice (am I the only one who actually likes it?!) and keeping up my fluid intake. The other methods I've heard of are taking expectorant cough mixture or agnus castis - does anyone have any experience of these methods?

So glad to be able to vent to you guys!

Mylittlebubble · 05/10/2008 22:35

Where have all you lovely Ladies gone? Suppose it is a quiet period until next week [smlie]

Jools1 · 06/10/2008 09:17

Morning all

I'm still keeping an eye on you

Went down to see my parents and sis yesterday - wasn't sure if I would tell them but cracked just after lunch and it was lovely to share the news and see them so happy

6+3 today - meeting the midwife this time next week Had a wobble on Friday due to lack of symptoms, but it sounds like nobody in my family has ever suffered from MS or extreme tiredness so I should just count myself lucky

I hope the 2WW and symptom spotting is not driving you all mad !

I have 2 more symptoms for you to spot - remembered them last night

1 - If you have long hair that always fills up the plug in the shower, watch out for that plug being EMPTY of hair - hair loss seems to slow down or stop. I've also had to shave my legs a lot more. I looked for this on the day I got my BFP, so it can be an early symptom

2 - ahem - lady bits look red / purple with all the extra blood flow to that area. I'm not sure when that symptom starts though ..

yellowflowers · 06/10/2008 09:31

Hi,

Went to GP and said either I am pregnant in which case I had period and one positive but after time limit test and several negative ones os am I still pregnant, or negative in which case which sore boobs for last two weeks and metallic taste, and she sent away urine for testing but not blood, and said boobs will just be hormonal.

I am annoyed because yes boobs sore pre period starting but now it is 10 days post period so shouldn't be sore now so hormones wouldn't explain that. And also because I told her about the one positive test but she said it's possible to get a false positive because of an LH surge pre period. This would be fine but the positive result ()after time limit on test) came on cycle day 7 so couldn't be because of a pre period LH surge because the test wasn't done pre period but she didn't seem to understand this.

So now I annoyed because I felt she didn;t get it and knew less than me about these things, and have to wait for urine result and if negative still need to go back and ask for blood test or to get them to check out the very sore boobs.

Have bought another shop bought test (one clear blue and one sainsbury own) but don't need loo so can't test yet.

I just want to cry with frustration.

smileycat · 06/10/2008 11:35

Morning girlies

Been symptom spotting soooo much this weekend, I've now had a crampy belly for over a week, megga sore boobs (DH says they look bigger too) and couldn't get comfy on the sofa last night as lower back was sore, still think my mind is playing tricks on me & its just a big AF buildup but only time will tell, earliest I'm due AF is Weds & lastest is next Wed, going to buy a couple of tests & try to hold off doing them till next week.....When I got pg with ds I had the same symptoms & did the test the day AF was due and before I'd even finished weeing on the stick I got a possitive line so hoping if I can't wait long enough it may show up early if I am pg ...who else is (fingers crossed) testing next week

WanabeMum · 06/10/2008 12:08

Hello ladies,

So sorry about your doctor's appointment existentialist she didn't seem to know much did she? Can't you ask for a different doctor? How annoying, like this isn't stressful enough.

Hey smiley i'm due to test soon i think although not sure it is a good idea (Advice from our pg observers would be much appreciated) I'm only 6DPO today but i'm on CD27, and no symptoms to spot yet. The only thing i can relate to is the acheing back and a horrible pins and needles feeling in my left leg for 2 days. Not even sure that's a symptom! lol . I'm trying not to symptom spot because i'm dreading the disapointment again. Not even sure if i would be getting symptoms this early. Any ideas?!
The past 2 cycles have been 29days so that means AF is due on Thursday, but that's still only 9DPO. Is that normal?! Or am i just to expect a long cycle this time. It's the first month i've been able to tell when i OV'd so not really much help looking at past cycles!

WanabeMum · 06/10/2008 12:08

Oops! i meant yellow about the GP! sorry ladies, brain isn't workig at all lately!!

Jools1 · 06/10/2008 12:30

Hi Wanabe - I've copied the info below over from an old post on another thread and added to it, in case it helps Will be keeping everything crossed for you I am sure that tingling legs has been mentioned as a symptom before ....

You will see from what is below, that I really don't think I could have guessed anything before 6DPO, but was cautiously optimistic by 8DPO .....

CD 15 - OV Pains in PM, BD
CD16 - OV Pains in AM
1DPO, nose started suddenly running like a wide open tap (sorry if TMI !) for around 15 mins. I wonder now if that was sperm meeting egg ?

5DPO - Unusually gassy. Normal post ov boob pains

6DPO - Tiny smear of red blood on paper first thing, then a little bit more in the afternoon.

8DPO - In the afternoon, nipples suddenly got really hot and a bit tingly - stayed that way for a few hours. Noticed a tiny amount of creamy yellow CM that evening

9DPO - started getting very emotional - not angry b*tch woman like pre AF - more crying at cute puppies / sad scenes on soaps etc

10DPO - Starting getting mild cramps - like a poking sensation near my belly button. Boobs bigger and more tender than usual post OV I think, but difficult to tell for sure

11DPO - Poking sensation continued for a few hours. In the afternoon, nipples suddenly felt really wierd - fizzy / tingly for a few minutes. It was so strange, I thought everyone in the meeting would be able to see something

12DPO - Watery, brown tinged CM first thing in the morning - looked different to pre-AF - more watery. AF like cramps for under an hour. Loads and loads of BM's

13DPO, CD29 - brownish CM in the morning. Noticed no hair in plughole after shower (very unusual) BFP that afternoon. Boots test was difficult to read, so broke out the ClearBlue digi that said "Pregnant 1 - 2"

18DPO - soreness of boobs reaching new heights ! Tested again, just to make sure I'm not making it all up. Nether regions have changed colour due to increased blood supply - now reddish-purple. Some low-level nausea. No major tiredness, but pregnancy brain kicking in - putting remote control in fridge etc etc.

Jools1 · 06/10/2008 12:33

Just adding - you can always drive yourself mad reviewing peoples early symptoms here I think that is where I might have read about pins and needles in the leg ?

WanabeMum · 06/10/2008 13:08

Thanks Jools had a quick look but couldn't see anything on there about pins and needles, although there are about 20 pages! Will have a good read through later tonight.

I'm worried that I'll get my hopes up and then AF again. I was so dissapointed last month and we've been trying for what feels like forever (in fact only 6months). I'm sure it will hapen when the time is right. Even DH has said he is going for a sperm count if this month doesn't work because we caught it perfectly thanks to the fertility monitor.

Will just have to await the symptom spotting over the next week or so! My AF is supposed to be due on 10th which would be 10DPO. Would that be too early to test? i'm confused as didn't realise i OV'd so late in the cycle

yellowflowers · 07/10/2008 10:30

Well boobs really hurt, more than they had, this am. So did two tests - clear blue and tesco. Clear blue did what it had last fri which is very faint line very quickly which then disappeared after few mins and then came up after about an hour very strong - so weird. Nothing on the tesco one. Guess will find out when dr gets results back tomorrow.

WanabeMum · 07/10/2008 11:57

Yellow that's very weird. Still could be a good sign? very confusing for you though. When do you hear from the doctor?

yellowflowers · 07/10/2008 12:00

I have to ring tomorrow for urine test results though won't be able to get to phone until afternoon. then I have appt on fri which I already boke don basis that if test positive I need to go and if negative I need to go and find out why boobs been hurting for 2 weeks.

WanabeMum · 07/10/2008 13:06

Seems rational! . Keeping my fingers crossed for you x

WanabeMum · 07/10/2008 13:08

I am 7DPO today and starting to have niggles as i'm CD28. Not sure if it's AF on her wicked way or something else!
Obviously hoping for the latter but only time will tell.

Jools1 · 07/10/2008 13:38

Ooh these long cycles are cruel Wanabe I have everything crossed for you and am scattering babydust liberally over the thread

I got my BFP on CD28 - but since being really really ill in Feb, my cycles had reduced down from average 35 days to 26 - 29

nelix2000 · 07/10/2008 16:22

hiya everyone....I hope we get some more BFPs soon! good luck to everyone due to test soon! is heeby still on hliday?

Hi Girls.
Well have I got a story to tell! I had belly ache on Sunday evening didn't think to much of it. Went to bed then DD wake me up at 4am by 5am I was doubled over in pain! Started being sick and lost all my energy then got pins and needles in my arms! NHSDirect told us to go straight to A&E! If labour pains are level ten these were level nine, it f*ing hurt. Got sent to Docs by our local A&E who then said it was Appendisitis (SP) and that the surgeon had been informed and to get up to the main hospital ASAP! When I got there I was in soo much pain they offered me Morphine!! I opted for the Gas and Air, wonderful stuff. Anyway pain subsided and after being poked and prodded spent a night in hospital and was preped for theatre they decided that it probably wasn't my Appendix!!

Conclusion is it could be Rumbling Appendix, Overian Cyst or I just Ovulated! I looked on the internet and apperantly some women have such severe OV pains they are sometimes diagnosed with appendisitis! So makng a docs appointment to follow up and BD'ing tonght to catch that little rascal on it way down! At least then the pain was worth it

yellowflowers · 08/10/2008 09:16

ouch - are you okay now?

Mylittlebubble · 08/10/2008 10:40
