Hello everyone,

Sorry bubble men can be so frustrating at times, and it's horrible falling out with your DP/DH normally without it being when you're TTC. and hope it's all sorted now. Plus make-up BD-ing is fab!!

I'm so happy today, very excited, and a little nervous because my fertility monitor said "high" again today after 2 days of "peak" which means I definately OV'd yesterday and we BD'd 4 times in the last 2 days ............ just to make sure!
So we have caught it perfectly this month and now I'm in the waiting stage again. Gosh it comes around so quickly!

Fingers crossed everyone!

BeckyMcG · 02/10/2008 18:17

Hey girls,

Sorry to hear the bad news ladies ? I think getting positive hopes up and then being let down is worst than just getting AF!! Ahhhh??.. I?ve been very busy both at work and personally but the latest for me is that I have been peeing on my OV sticks every day and no positive at all. Have done them every day from CD10 and now at CD 16 and my usual cycle is 28 days exactly ? what is going on?? Anyway ? am persevering with the BD-ing most days which I think mainly hubby enjoys however many more months of this could be tiring!

Am afraid I haven?t cut out alcohol while I?m trying yet, just cut back as don?t want to put life and social life on hold but maybe is no success by Xmas will reconsider in the new year????

AF due on 14th for me???.

Glad all those with the good news are coming to see us from time to time! Ok ? who?s going to start us a new thread? I?m scared I won?t be able to find it!!!

funtimewincies · 02/10/2008 20:12

Hi all, sorry that I've been neglectful. I've no idea what is happening this month, I've not felt ov and I've no idea if I even have. I've also been on medication for tendonitis in my shoulder and the packet reckons that it might make it difficult to conceive. The pain has also scuppered bd'ing, so conception this month would have to be immaculate (well, nearly ).

Good luck and here we go with another week of dest destroying .

Mylittlebubble · 02/10/2008 21:29

Well we did make up . Dropped little one off at granny's and made some excuse of having to go somewhere without her and went home and hopefully, hopefully, cut at the right time

Looking forwad to the testing news bring it on girls x

WanabeMum · 02/10/2008 22:26

Hey funtime sorry to hear you have a bad shoulder. Tendonitis is aweful! Hope you recover quickly. Can imagine that it has made it difficult for you to ttc this month, but you never know!

Bubble i'm glad you made up, and in the best way possible! it's always the fun part of an arguement!

Becky welcome back (you seem to have been gone for ages!)don't worry too much that you haven't OV'd yet. My cycle is usually around 29-32 days and I ovulated on CD21 this month! so there's hope yet for you. keep persevering with the ov sticks and see what happens. Plus i haven't cut out the alcohol completely either. The way i see it is women didn't find out as early as we do now and so they didn't change their lives completely to conceive. Although tbh i do feel a little guilty when i reach for the wine glass!
Looks like you'll be in batch 2 of the testers this month with wasabi and the other ladies.

Fingers, toes, eyes, and legs (well sort of) firmly crossed for lots more BFP's this month ladies!!!!!

wasabipeanut · 02/10/2008 22:34

I'd like to confirm that I have also failed to cut out alcohol. If we are still ttc in a year I'll think about it but until then....

I think if we are successful I'll know pretty sharpish.

Becky - OPK's are not an exact science from what I can gather. Keep going with them and as wanabemum says you may be oving later than you think. This is certainly what I've established about myself this month. Its also possible depending on the time of days you test to actually mias the surge altogether - they do vary in length. Do you look for any other signs? CM, temp etc. ?

Funtime, hip you feel better soon

smileycat · 03/10/2008 07:58

Hi Girls

Question for you, does anyone else get a small sore lump in their armpit when you are building up for your AF. I noticed it about a year or so ago and asked the doc about it, she said not to worry as it was just a hormone surge in my glands and would go away once my AF arrived....it does. It appeared yesterday this month 6 days early for a 3 wk AF and 13 days early for a 4 wk AF...I don't want to get my hopes up early but do you think it could be PG hormones instead of AF????

I live out in Gibraltar at the mo as my DH is in the Navy (back Aug 09) & have got to go back to UK for a meeting for 4 days next wk, so I think I'll buy a few test kits & do a sneaky one while I'm away...told myself I wasn't going to let tcc'ing take over, but its soooooo hard not to let it, I'll relax a bit more next month if its a Neg & stop myself looking for pg signs that probably are not even there

nelix2000 · 03/10/2008 09:06

Hiya smiley, I have been getting that in both armpits since I was 16...so quite a while now! I used to get it a few days before AF was due.

Aug 09????will you see DH at all in that time?

OP posts:
Jools1 · 03/10/2008 09:18

Hi Nelix - haven't seen you for ages How are things ?

Wanabe - re the alcohol - I'd got to the point where I drink very little anyway - 4 glasses of wine and I wanted to crawl into bed ! For my 3 months of TTC, I used to happily drink in moderation up to around 6DPO but generally stopped after that, as each month I convinced myself I had symptoms !!!

I now haven't had anything alcoholic for 4 weeks and am craving beer

yellowflowers · 03/10/2008 10:27

Hi,

Okay, I am confused. To recap - got Af on day 34 (or usual 30 day cycle) after couple of days very metallic taste - light flow for two days, very heavy for one then just stopped abruptly last Sunday (am writing this on Fri) whereas usually af would peter out, this just stopped, but had been heavy, a bit clotty and bright red. During this time had 2 very faint lines but as was on AF assumed chemical pregnancy. Breasts however have been hurting for a week, though not continuously but on and off. Metallic taste stopped but feel sick after dinner each evening, though not to point of being sick. Just peed on stick (having had cup of tea and grapefruit juice, so maybe diluted) as have got a faint line. As in very faint, but don't have to hold up to light, but very very faint. Cursory glance would say nothing, but look hard and it's def there. This was within a minute so not evaporation line.

Test was with clearblue early, not digital. Are they the ones renowned for looking like a line when there is none.

I know I have to just make doctors appt but please advise what you think.Am I bfp? Should I be excited. Or could this be faint line after cp given I did have 3 days bleeding.

aaaaaargh.

yellowflowers · 03/10/2008 10:48

shit, maybe ignore that. the line was def there within a minute of peeing on stick and for a couple of mins after but now ten mins later and there is nothing there - nothing at all. Maybe I am going truly mad?

ExistentialistCat · 03/10/2008 11:04

I don't think you're going mad, yellow, and I don't have any views on whether it might be a bfp after all, but just wanted to send you some support. Do go and see a doctor...

Smiley I've had the sore armpit thing for the first time ever since I came off the pill four weeks ago. Very reassuring that you mentioned it as I was starting to think that I had been inventing outlandish symptoms!

I'm trying to give myself a stern talking-to about not getting too excited before it's time to test next week. Trouble is, I'm not listening to myself. I know it's vv unlikely that I'll get a bfp but I can't help wishful thinking. Argh, I'm not usually (quite) as crazy-obsessive as this!

Re alcohol - I've more or less given up just in case and in the hope of giving my body the best possible chance of conceiving. I've been very susprised at how easy it was - I've always loved a glass of wine of an evening - and how very much my sleep and energy levels have improved. That said, if AF arrives next week, my plan is to get at least moderately sozzled whilst taking a very hot bath .

smileycat · 03/10/2008 11:11

hi nelix thanks for letting me know, its good to know someone else gets the same when AF due, its usually a good way of telling its on the way..but a little confussed this time on the timing, so fingers crossed its pg hormones instead.

DH has a 16 wk course to go on in September but will see him most nights except for the odd wk or so when he will be away, after that who knows, hopefully he'll get a shore based job, but could have to go & fight for 6 months

yellow fingers crossed for you that its just taking its time to produce a poss result

BeckyMcG · 03/10/2008 11:54

Hmmmmm yellow this seems very confusing! I would maybe do another test first thing tomorrow. After my miscarriage last time I continued getting faint positive (getting fainter) for a week after. The doctor who I saw after my misscarriage have me lots of tests and told me to take them every other day until it was negative to be sure it wasn't an ectopic pregnancy. I'd leave it till Sunday and pee on stick first thing in morning.
Am definitely more relaxed this month, or maybe that's just today - who knows. Am goign to persevere with the sticks but doubt I could have missed OV so far as have been BD-ing nearly every day for about 10 days - v. tired!!!!
I'm off to friends b-day party tonight and wedding tomorrow so am very much looking forward to weekend

funtimewincies · 03/10/2008 12:17

I'd go and see your GP Yellowflowers. When I had my CP I got checked over in the hospital (previous ectopic which you all now know about) and they reckoned that usually the hormones plummet and is usual, as in my case, to get a negative test the day after a positive.

Anyway I'm rambling . If you are still getting a weak positive test a week after AF/CP then you should see your GP simply so that they can do their own test and, if needed, a blood test to confirm one way or t'other. I know that I sound bossy, but Auntie Funtime only has your best interests at heart .

Smiley - I get the same. I've given myself numerous 'lumpy' scares over the years and will now only check my books straight after my period to save myself the panic.

What a little haven we seem to have here. I went over to 'chat' for the first time in ages and it seems that there have been troll-outings all over the place! I think that I'll stay here, put my feet up and tuck into that bowl of jelly that I made on a whim last night .

WanabeMum · 03/10/2008 12:36

Ooh Funtime I haven't had jelly for ages!!! sounds like a plan for the weekend.
I think you're like our agony aunt on here! advice much appreciated of course.

Smiley how do you cope with the thought of your DH going to fight?! I'd hate that, im sure you do too. And I did get the swollen gland under my armpit at one time but like you was told it was due to hormone levels.

Becky 10 times?! well done, no wonder you're so tired!! At least if you don't get a clear result from the OV sticks you know you haven't missed it.

Existentialist you are not alone! every month I tell myself not to get too excited as it may not happen but every month i am deeply disappointed. For instance, this morning (2DPO) I had a sharp pain in my lower abdomen (very similar to a period cramp) and I thought "ooh what's that?!" then only to realise .... tmi alert........ it was wind how embarrassing?!
But as you can see i'm neurotic too so we can be obsessed together!

wasabipeanut · 03/10/2008 13:06

Yellow, I do think you should see a GP. You need to know what is happenning one way or t'other.

Becky - I think we are going to have to start calling you Becky10times. I am very impressed!! Not to mention a touch envious.

yellowflowers · 03/10/2008 13:11

yes, am going to make appt for monday and cancel it if I don;t need it then. Best friend came over and saw test and agreed faint line but also thought was probs not positive as so very faint and maybe evaporation

yellowflowers · 03/10/2008 16:07

me again. the line is pretty unambiguously there now, though only got darker several hours after test, and wasn't there at all when I redid it on tesco own test. Anyway, guess will find out when I go to doctor on mon. bit of a rollercoaster...

Jools1 · 03/10/2008 16:23

YellowFlowers - this must be really messing with your head I hope you get some answers soon.

Have you thought of trying a ClearBlue digital with FMU ? It might give you a more concrete result either way.

yellowflowers · 03/10/2008 16:27

Hi Jools, did think of that but if negative still will be wondering because of sore boobs etc and if positive still will be wondering because I had 3 day bleed. One for the gp I think.

WanabeMum · 03/10/2008 20:45

Hey Yellow im so sorry that your body is doing this to you. Us ladies have very strange bodies that are very good at fooling us or at least keeping us guessing. I hope you get some answers on Monday and can at least put your mind at ease.]
