I know you're right, Summerbird, but today I feel like I want to sit in my puddle of mud and wallow. I know it's just PMT, I'll be right in a few days!

Blardy test results...why does everything have to take so long!! When did you have your x-ray??

Hi girls,

I'd just like to add to all the kind words for Crunchy and Masala, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

My poor little sister has gone through hell in the last couple of days, she was in labour from monday afternoon until yesterday lunchtime, the baby was back to back so she was in agony and then they ended up having to do an emergency c-section. Then this morning too much bleeding so down to theatre for a D&C and now shes in intensive care waiting on a blood transfusion. I just want to be able to do something to help her. On a positive note, the baby is a perfectly healthy 8 pound little boy and seems content as anything.

I've kind of lost track of who is testing when as well so I've added my stats to the list to get us started.

Summerbird: Cycle 7 CD27 12DPO
Bluestar: Cycle 3 CD 33 (of 35 this cycle), 12DPO
Linwin: Cycle 3 CD 29

Thandeka · 24/09/2008 12:36

Hello can I join in? Complete newbie to mumsnet and getting there with stuff:

Summerbird: Cycle 7 CD27 12DPO
Bluestar: Cycle 3 CD 33 (of 35 this cycle), 12DPO
Linwin: Cycle 3 CD 29
Thandeka Cycle 1 CD 25 10DPO

I feel really nauseous today and have had a funny stich like sensation in my womb area for several days now but I think it is all my head. BFN today but I know I was testing to early! (I'm amazed I managed to last until 10DPO until I did the test!)

Good luck to everyone else TTC this month.

Hey Ladies. Hope everyone is okay!
Wondering if any gals have used black kohosh to enduce menstration?? I have to have a period before I go back on clomid, and so far, nada.
I was looking online for natural remedy's rather than going on Provera again.
I've also read parsley tea can help. Anyone heard of this.

Baby dust to all

ToBeOrNotToBe · 24/09/2008 15:00

Hi guys - just checking in with you all. Big hugs needed all round I think.

AF arrived for me too today. I actually feel better for just knowing one way or the other AND it does mean I can go out with my friends and enjoy a few drinks this weekend

It also means I can start to chart my temp, etc, on FF!

Cycle 2 here I come.

The kebab was fab last night - by the way

wildfig · 24/09/2008 18:56

Linwin, your poor sister! That kind of puts things in perspective (and Crunchy & Masala ) BSL I know exactly how you feel; after all those years of trying not to get pregnant, it seems ridiculous that it's so hard when you really, really want it! Fingers crossed the tests come back soon and with good results - sometimes it's just time, simple (!) as that. And, er, lots of practice...

Summerbird: Cycle 7 CD27 12DPO
Bluestar: Cycle 3 CD 33 (of 35 this cycle), 12DPO
Linwin: Cycle 3 CD 29
Thandeka Cycle 1 CD 25 10DPO
Wildfig: Cycle 4 CD3

DawnAS · 24/09/2008 19:36

Hi all,

Sorry that I've been away for so long, work has been horribly ridiculous and is just set to get worst, but at least I've got a job!

I won't have the time to send personal notes to everyone, but just to say Crunchy and Masala, so sorry for your loss. That sounds so awful.

Well, we're still waiting for confirmation that we've got our mortgage offer before we move forward on the house.

Also, finally got confirmation from FF that I ovulated on CD16 so I'm now DPO6. No real symptoms to speak of (none that I'm not imagining anyway )!! So don't think it's our month this month. Temped for the first time this month though and was fascinated with the way my temperature soared after OVing. It leveled off today though for the first time since OVing and I expected it to continue shooting up, but then having looked at others charts, it is quite common. It will likely shoot up again tomorrow. What the does mean, I hope, is that AF may now be in a 30 day cycle instead of a 35 which will be a great improvement.

Welcome to all the new people and I hope that everyone is Ok.

Hope all the beans are good too!!

Hey dawn i was wondering where you got to! so are things settling down at work at the mo? at least you are still working and able to buy your lovely palace! i am v excited for you.

wildfig i totally agree that it is annoying that i spent my entire 20s and early 30s trying NOT to get PG and am now struggling.

BSL i have to ring the hospital on CD1 of next AF then they will get me in within 10 days when it needs to be done.

A girl at work told me today that she went to see a medium last night who told her that he work colleague who is TTC (er - me!) and has had investigative work on fertility(moi!) needs to chill as it will happen in the new year! Now i dont usually believe these but she said loads of other spot on things, i know i am being daft but all this worrying about my tubes has taken over a bit and this little message gave me a bit of comfort! silly me

tobeornottobe you go girl - and enjoy your weekend!!!

welcome thandeka to our lovely thread!

linwin your poor sister, i am sending hugs over your way! she will be fine, tha happened to a friend of mine and she was sore for a little while but soon got back onher feet.

wishin i havent heard of these remedies but might give parsley tea a go! am always up for trying new things (by the way whenever is see your name i start singing that song!!!)

bluestarlavender · 25/09/2008 08:38

Morning all,

Just popped on to say, BFN for me this morning. Expected, but I'm still gutted! AF twinges have started...so everything is on track for AF to start tomorrow.

DH had a message to call the GP so the results are back. We are going up there in a min, as although the phone lines were supposed to be open at 8am...they still aren't. We have walk in clinic every morning. So are just going to go and see someone.

That's it from me.

I'll do a proper update later.

fingers crossed BSL i am gonna be thinking of you this morning and sending vibes that everything is going to be just fine! about your BFN, but keep positive! x

bluestarlavender · 25/09/2008 10:43

Hi guys,

Just got back from the GP. Had a really good doctor today, who went back through DH's notes and stuff. He told us that actually there shouldn't be any problems with regard to DH's undescended testes, as they were actually not up in the abdomen, but lower and the operation was just to bring them fully into the scotum. This means DH is not at increased risk of testicular cancer and also shouldn't (in theory) have issues with fertility.

However, the actual results of the sperm test were not so good. The sample volume was fine, motility is low (30% - a normal range is 50 - 100%) and the normal sperm count was 0%.

This is clearly bad, but the doctor said he thought that the result was very very strange, as he has never seen a 0% for normal sperm.

Basically we discussed what the next steps are and DH is to repeat the test in about 2 months. He has to change to cotton boxers. The Doc said to keep TTC and see what these results come back with. Next steps if the results are the same will be a referral. I think we will have some options, but it's a wait and see game now.

It hasn't really sunk in yet...but I feel some relief that I wasn't going mad and was right to think there was a problem.

I will do a better catch up later,

DawnAS · 25/09/2008 10:44

Hey All,

BSL - Sorry about BFN hun, but fingers crossed for DH's results today!! Hopefully things will be OK.

Summer - I'm hoping that the Medium is right for you. I'm seeing another one on Monday next week which is quite scary... Hoping I'll get some good news. Work is still pretty horrendous to be honest but at least I've got a job...

So, now DPO7 and temp has dropped slightly, wasn't sure whether that was normal or not. it was the same yesterday as the day before and then dropped slightly today. Really odd twinges and aches "down there" and general feeling of complete exhaustion. I remember having that last time I was PG, just for a couple of days after implantation, but trying not to get my hopes up.

I hope that everyone else is Ok, it's nearly Friday!!

summerbird · 25/09/2008 11:37

BSL i always think that as long as you know what the problem is then you can take steps to fix it, it is more frustrating when you dont know. The blessing is that your DH is not high risk of TC which is a huge relief.

Onwards and upwards so to speak! The 0% result does sound odd but your GP seems to be on board. Good luck!

My AF due tomorrow and no PG symptoms so far, i am not upset about it this month tho as i have other things on my mind such as the job app (i should hear next week if i get to round 1 of interviews) and my blocked tubes (or as my friend put it 'YouTube'!)

Happy Thursday everyone!

bluestarlavender · 25/09/2008 12:05

Summerbird - whilst I agree it's great news about DH's risk of testicular cancer being normal, the test results are pretty bad. Zero normal sperm...if we get the same result again that could basically mean we can't have a child who is biologically both of ours.

I'm sorry if I sound angry, I guess right now I am. I'm angry at the cards we've been dealt, but I know I've got to suck it up and play them as best we can.

OP posts:
ToBeOrNotToBe · 25/09/2008 12:18

Big hugs Summerbird. You're allowed to be angry. But please don't give up hoping. Just shoot the dealer

ToBeOrNotToBe · 25/09/2008 12:20

Sorry - my message was for BSL not Summerbird - but Summerbird can have hugs too - HUGS for everyone!

Lynsy · 25/09/2008 12:36

Hello Girls

Sorry to gatecrash your thread but just wanted to share something with BSL.

My DP has low motility (35%) and 1% normal forms, sperm are very complex things and results could be different from one day to the next as many factors can affect the results. So I hope you don't mind me saying but could be worth your DH making a few lifestlye changes, my DP has given up alcohol, cut out caffeine (these 2 things are supposed to have a big effect on sperm), he also takes a whole host of vitimins and has accupunture, it does take 3 months for lifestyle changes to take effect with sperm, so not much fun for your DH, but if your Dr suggested another SA in 2 months if you start now you may well see an improvement in the next results although I can't gaurantee this. The lady we see for accupunture specialises in fertility and has had couple go on to get pregnant naturally with only 1% normal forms - so there is hope

I hope you don't mind me posting just thought it might be helpful.

I wish you all the best of luck girls and lots of BFP's.

summerbird · 25/09/2008 13:02

Hey of course you are allowed to be angry BSL, i too am sending big virtual hugs your way. This is the forum to vent your frustration so vent away xx

wishinanhopin · 25/09/2008 13:49

I think we all have the right to be pissed off at the cards we've been dealt, but I don't think we should be pissed for too long. We need to take that anger and turn it into ACTION!! Okay thats my speeach for the day LOL. So I've researched a bunch of natural things to get AF started. I go see my DR on Monday and would love to tell her I made AF start all on my own. Really don't want to go on Provera again! So I'm taking Black Cohosh, drinking parsley tea, and taking Vitimin C.....I'll let ya know if any of it works LOL.

bluestarlavender · 25/09/2008 14:41

Hi guys,

I don't mean to be angry! It's also my birthday today and I think it's the worst birthday I've ever had.

Just very very upset.

Lynsy - thanks for the lifestyle change advice! We are going to look in to what can help. Problem is my DH is already super fit and healthy. He hardly drinks alcohol, rarely drinks tea or coffee. He does drink a good few litres of water a day. We cook from scrtach and he doesn't do junk food. He's very slim. In fact he's quite nauseatingly healthy! I've even been getting him to take vitamin supplements with zinc for the last couple of months. So we're going to try the boxers...he wears those fitted jersey shorts at the moment.

But any more supplement advice would be gratefully received!!

I'm off to wallow somemore. Sorry again for any angry vibes! Big hugs all round! I hate TTC!

Well it sounds like your DH is doing all the right things. Please try not to get too disheartened, my dp has had 4 SA done this year and all have come back different, so could be a different sotry in a couple of months. I will go home and have a look at all the vitmins DP is taking and let you know, I can't even pronounce them let alone spell them . Some people don't believe that these types of things will do any good, but hey it's worth a try.
I know how hard it is as we are just venturing down the assisted conception route, and this is one rollercoaster I want to get of off sooner rather than later.

I wish you the best of luck and Happy birthday - Try and enjoy it.
