Have excepted Sparkly,Crycry and Kate as friends on FB but ignored Dottie K, does anyone know who she is??
(Hope it's not one of you lot as I have already pressed the 'ignore' button, appologies if it is one of you lovely ladies) Kate glad you find my hippo piccy nice, I selected a picture of how I feel at the moment
I also had a MW appt yesterday but didn't feel up to posting about it, as I was really low because of Mollies sad news. They found a little protein in my wee 2+ (or +2?) so they have sent my sample off to the lab, baby meassured 29wks, they said that was 'spot on' for being in my 31 week? and my BP was still fairly low at 105/68, so all is going fine at the moment, next appt will be 9th Sep, unless they need to contact me re:protein in pee. I did ask if it would be possible for a home birth this time, but MW said that although she is 'pro' HB's she didn't think that it would be wise for me. I will need antibiotics at the start of labour and again 4 hours later because I had a live culture?? of Strep B, almost 2 years ago. If I don't get the 2nd dose of 'AB's' then the baby will be taken to scbu and have to have them instead. My labours are quite short (thank goodness!) so don't want to put new baby under any undue stress IYSWIM

Think I'm finding you all now on FB, will need to keep referring to my crib sheet though, a bit confusing
I would like to see a lovely, glowing picture of a pregnant Emmsy Mind you I have a picture on there taken almost 2yrs ago, but I like it and I weighed about 6kg less than I do now, so it can stay there for this week at least
Thinking of you Mollie, words don't make you feel any better, but I have an understanding of how you feel, at least
My working week starts tomorrow, only 3 days though so shouldn't complain But still, it must be one of the most boring jobs I've ever done
My stats were out by one day so I've corrected only mine, not sure about anyone elses and don't want to mess them up

Mine were a day out too, so have corrected them.

Mollie I don't know if you would rather stay on the list at the moment or not I can't imagine being confronted by your EDD every time you log on is going to help though, so very gently I am going to take you off. I really hope I am doing the right thing, if not please just put yourself on in whatever form feels right to you. Sending {{{big hugs}}}

Ahhh, peace at last Been at the farm all morning.
Mindees in bed almost asleep, big girl mindee and DS watching The Goonies, I love this film! I've got a nice sweet potato and tuna and salad for my lunch. My nausea seems to be subsiding (hope that's not a bad sign) so I can actually face healthy type food now, thank god! I thought I was going to turn into that big fat 40 stone woman who had triplets (but without the triplets)

Georgie That would be lovely! Wimbledon Park is always nice if good weather. Probably a day when I have fewer kiddies would be best as that park is so open. Maybe next Thursday morning? I'll have DS and one little mindee. Do you know Wacky Warehouse in Colliers Wood? If terrible weather perhaps we could go there? Bit chavvy but fun for the children There's always Eddie Catz (Tiger's Eye), expensive but quite civilised these days since they changed management.

Emmsy my friend (who's older daughter I CM) is currently 32/33 weeks preg and she has Group B strep. She's really worried about it as a friend of ours' sister had a baby who died from septicemia as a result as they didn't realise she had it still, you and my friend will be in safe hands as they know you have it. It's not nice to see your new born baby being given IV AB but you'll have a healthy baby! I actually don't know very much about it but as long as they know you have it then you and baby will be fine.
In fact there's an article in the current Pregnancy and Birth mag about someone wth GBS who gave birth in a taxi and her baby turned out just fine. It's the people that don't know about it that are a worry My friend saw her notes from her last preg 9 years ago and saw a note that said she had GBS and no one told her! She's only just found out Luckily her daughter was given AB due to an infected umbilical cord so she was covered.

FruitynNutty · 19/08/2008 14:06

I'm going to have a nose at all your pics on FB now

Emmsy1 · 19/08/2008 15:01

scully & Kate have taken a photo on phone today and posted it on FB (Hippo No 2!)
weighing in at a big 11st (first thing in the morning, won't weigh later in the day)
and only just 5'3" was going to find a much slimmer blonde photo from approx 9 years ago, but decided not to cheat!!

fruity I think it was you that encouraged me to sign a petition re:GBS last year, November? I have seen the story in the P&B Mag about the taxi birth, I can understand why she was so worried. As soon as I feel the first twinge, I will probably camp outside the hospital, just to be on the safe side Most women carry GBS but don't know it, I didn't know with any of my other children, I found out 2 years ago when I first started to TTC, I was having painful sex, so I had a swab taken and was told then. Dr said that I only needed to worry about it if I was trying for another baby, told him I was, then he changed his mind and said that I only needed to worry if I had another underlying illness such as an autoimmune disease. (Probably a very good chance that I have either RA, rheumatoid arthritis or lupus

cricri · 19/08/2008 15:08

Emmsy That's a lovely photo of you on FB and a neat bump As Fruity said earlier, we're a good-looking bunch
Sorry to hear about GBS but as you said, at least you know now. I had it last pg (when I mc'd) and I was tested again early in this pg and the test came back negative. However, mw now wants to do a swab at 36-38 weeks just to be on the safe side. Really hope that is negative too as otherwise my plans for a home birth will go out of the window Still, baby is more important.

Emmsy1 · 19/08/2008 15:09

oops! pressed the wrong key and posted before I had finished. My little sis is being treated for RA, she has now got deformities in her hands. Her feet are now under attack. I started suffering from bouts of vertigo 2 years ago, then I had episcleritis, then joint pains started and was diagnosed with dry eye in December, havent seen a specialist regarding joint pains as was desperate to have this last baby first. Dr said we can sort it out after the birth. Pains have gone for time being, and am hoping it stays that way It could just all be coincidence, anyway I will try to do my best to get the 2 jabs in time as I am a lot stronger than a tiny baby

Emmsy1 · 19/08/2008 15:13

cricri Hope your homebirth will be ok. I haven't been told that they will take a swab nearer to my due date, that's what I was expecting? just that I will be given the anti-biotics... maybe its now rutine practise in Arrowe Park Hospital.? Or maybe they are trying to put me off my homebirth suggestion because of staffing issues I will ask about the swab when I go again on the 9th Sepxx

Emmsy1 · 19/08/2008 15:14

routine!!

Emmsy1 · 19/08/2008 15:20

I wonder if my last 2 M/C's were anything to do with the GBS? or possibly the inflammation that I had been getting in my eyes, joints etc... will never really know, at least this baby is safe at the moment.

Mollie just felt a terrible urge to cry for you, hope your doing as well as can be expected xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

kate2179 · 19/08/2008 16:28

Emmsy you look nothing like a hippo! You look like a lady who is 30 weeks pg () and Cricri is right, you've got a very neat bump! It's great finally putting faces to names, and names to names come to that

Wonder whether I've been tested for GBS... will ask the consultant next time I see him...

Only two days til my birthday ! Can't wait to see the back of 28, really hoping 29 will be a lot less traumatic!

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 19/08/2008 17:17

Hey Fruity, you've got a date! Next Thurs morn would be lovely. Wim Park if weather ok or one of the soft play zones if not. Yippeee. Looking forward to it. You'll have to give me your real name as I can't waft round Wim Park asking unsuspecting mothers if their name is Fruity !

Kate Grrrr at you only being 29. . But happy birthday for Thursday and here's hoping that your 29th year brings you all you're wishing for. My virtual b' day present to you is some delcious Jo Malone smellies.

Emmsy I've been wondering why I've been walking round with a face like thunder (and a mood to match) today and like you, I think it's because I'm so bloody pissed off at what Mollie's going through.

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 19/08/2008 17:18

Oh, and I've managed to set something up on FB. I think! Might take me a while to refine it. Nothing much to look at, at the moment. But feel free to nosey in the next couple of days. Initials are GP.

FruitynNutty · 19/08/2008 17:38

Well Georgie it really is no secret but I like to keep an air of mystery about myself My name is the same as one of your daughters (just checked out your profile ) and another gorgeous MNer on this fab thread. Only difference is my name ends in Y not IE
Come and join FB woman it's not all bad as long as you don't accept all those awful chain post thingies and keep your profile private so only your friends can see.
Oh, just noticed you have! Might need to give us some more clues though so we can find you!

Will try and find Scully now.

MollieMooma · 19/08/2008 20:38

You lot have been busy on FB! I've accepted all your requests and completed the crib sheet, DH says there's a way I can put you in a group so that your all together so might look at that later or tomorrow. And your all right, we are a lovely looking bunch x
Thank you so much everyone for your messages, had a little sniffle, but otherwise doing OK. Went to the hosp at 8am this morning with Mum and the nurse that met me said Mum had to go She then sat me in the same cubicle as last time and left me to put my gown on and nobody came to see me for 3/4 hr, all I could do was cry. But the nurse that came to see me was lovely, she gave me a cuddle, told off the first nurse, said of course I could have someone with me, and called Mum to come back Everyone was really lovely especially when they realised I'd been in only in January. Good news is that they have referred me to a consultant (and he's the best one at our hospital) Normally it's 3 m/c's but because I'm getting to be an old bird he was happy to refer me now. So I have an appt for 30/09/08 (6wks) which I think will help with my recovery as I will feel as though something is being done. Got home at 4pm so quite a long day, and as I've been away since 2.45am this morning will be off to bed soon. Little more painful physically this time, think it will hit me tomorrow emotionally as I've been on automatic pilot today just to get through it.
Anyway enough about me, hope everyone else is OK
