I got a test too so hope to use it next month.

It was a friend many years ago that told me about dogs knowing when you are on AF and since then I notice it every time having got dogs in the family. Bizarre, I know.

Would you like to try a free pregnancy test? If so check out the thread in site stuff and please do fill out our survey while you're there.
Thanks very much

Hey all. Just popped in to see how everyone is, although I'm not posting this week as had a bit of a bug, feeling grotty and just trying to cope with work and house stuff. Saw you were concerned, though, so thought I should say scan is actually next Weds, so my uncharacteristic silence is not ominous .

Have a lovely weekend everyone, and I promise I will be back next Thurs morning (scan is Weds evening) to update.

Willmouse - I am taking your Bonkers friend's advice and having a nice little daydream about having a small person, imaging how the nursery will look and all that kind of stuff. It's a lovely daydream and I quite fancy staying in it! I have that book, the Secret. But haven't read it yet! Might have to dig it out to help visualise and bring a little bean to me!

Daisy - good to hear from you and that all is well, excpet for the bug!!

Hi guys,

I have a question for everyone...can someone describe what the metal mouth thing is like?

I know about the sucking pennies description, can anyone tell me what your mouth feels like, and if it makes food taste weird...?

Thanks guys.

Hi MJIM,

Thanks, and yeah, guilty as charged! After yesterdays sore mouth, my throat has been a bit swollen today and I tried to eat dinner tonight and it tasted really weird and I have a weird dry taste at the back of my tongue. It doesn't exactly taste like sucking a penny, just a bit dry and sour.

I don't know if it's symptom, or just cos my mouth was sore yesterday.

Morning ladies

AF arrived last night (evil bint) so now officially:

TTC No 3-Cycle 5-CD 2

Off to Wales today but will try and get online to check for news.

One thing is that as soon as we arrive home, or even just before it will be full steam ahead!

Have a lovely weekend and take care.

Oh HC - for you, but like you say...full steam ahead when you get home

No news here, so keeping busy to avoid testing again

Have a great weekend all

HC - TTC No 3-Cycle 5-CD 2
Detoxdiva - TTC no. 2 - cycle 2 - cd 28 - dpo 12

ChocolateEclair · 16/08/2008 10:35

HC - really sorry to hear the evil witch came visiting. How dare she. Enjoy your holiday though and come back refreshed and ready to go again!

detox - looking good! Fingers crossed still!

My sister is visiting from Wales with her 2 dc so should have a fun and tiring weekend! I am supposed to be doing a sunday roast for 8 people - lets hope I'm not throwing up tomorrow!!!! Think we are off to the beach while the sun is shining so will be lovely

Have a great weekend everyone! (Still hoping for a couple of BFP's you know girls!!!!!)

majormoo · 16/08/2008 13:14

Hi All
Just got back from staying with my parents for a few days so very behind on all the posts.

HC sorry to hear this wasn't your month. Have a good holiday
Detoxdiva-have not read whether you have tested or not but good luck

CE hope the roast goes OK

MJIM-I sympathise as have got piles at about 33 weeks with both pregnancies (and with DS as I had had them before I drank loads water, ate loads fruit, veg, fibre etc but still got them.) The cream worked a treat though and they were soon under control. I remember being mortified when my midwife told me to bring a rubber ring in to work to sit on!

Bluestar not sure about the metallic taste-have never had it but good luck

We had fun at my parents' but good to be home. As DD stayed on her own with them for a few days earlier in the week, DH has not seen her for a whole week, so good to be all back together. Was funny walking around with my sister-she is 34 weeks pregnant with her first, so we look like book ends!

bluestarlavender · 16/08/2008 19:28

Evening All,

HC - sorry about AF arriving, but I hope you're having a lovely trip away!!

DD - How are you holing up!! Still being strong? When are you planning to test?

Majormoo - sound lovely to be going through pregnancy with your sister! Glad you had a lovely break away too!

CE - finger crossed for you to not be throwing up!! Is the MS really dreadful?

We are away this weekend at Rutland Water at the Bird Fair. Came up this morning and met some friends here for the day. DH and I are staying in a lovely little hotel nearby by ourselves, so are planning a nice romantic dinner and an early snuggly night. My weird tasting mouth thing has now become much more intense and I have spent the whole day feeling like I'm sucking on tin foil! Lovely! Food and drink has become very interesting. Although it is very strange and a possible PG symptom, I'm not ruling out the fact that my mouth was sore on Thursday and it's just a side-effect of that.

I hope everyone else is having a lovely weekend!!

Just a quick message to say hi and bye, really. I'm having less and less time to get on MN and the bonkers thread these days, and think it is time to get realistic and fade away - not altogether (oh no, that would be maaaad!) but just reducing it to popping on occasionally.

Thanks everyone for all the support and friendly advice. You have been brilliant, getting me through the 2WW and through the worrying bits of the first few weeks of PG. Can hardly believe I'm 12 wks on Thursday.

I wish everyone all the very best with the bonking and LOTS of BFPs!!! I'll lurk occasionally to see if there is any news.

THANKS! and GOOD LUCK!

xx

detoxdiva · 17/08/2008 12:10

Wellies - good luck for the rest of your pg - it's been lovely seeing you on here, and hope you pop back from time to time.

I also have an announcement to make......got a BFP today

Think this makes me 4 weeks, but am off to work it out exactly now

Can't stop smiling - the Summer of Love definately works

xxx

FlirtyThirty · 17/08/2008 12:34

Just got a BFP!!!!!!! I am in total shock!!!
We only BD twice this month and Fertility Friend said I never OVd ad my temp has been like a yo-yo!

More later...

What a birthday present!

Flirty - 4 weeks

ChocolateEclair · 17/08/2008 12:39

Yey! Well done detox!!!! I was really hoping for at least one BFP this month! You must be over the moon!!!! So have you worked out your due date yet? So very excited and happy for you xxxxxxxxxx For the record then, how many DPO are you today, and what symtpoms did you have and when? (Research purposes!)

Good Luck for the rest of your pg wellies - hope everything works out for you!

MJIM - sorry you are feeling rubbish, I guess it's all catching up with you a little at 33 weeks. You have done amazingly well to get all this way feeling great though, hold in there, not long to go.

Still lots of throwing up here (yuk) and generally feeling rough most of the time. It just feels so different to last time, I'm very hopeful that things are going to be OK. Looking forward to first midwife apointment on Thursday.

Funny little anecdote about my nephew(5.10) yesterday. My sister told him not to jump on me becasue of the 'tiny little baby' in there!! He had a major glint in his eye, which led on to lots of questions about how DP gave me the sperm etc etc! My poor sis! He is such a curious little boy, it's hilarious! she said she thinks he is under the impression that babies get pushed out of the belly button! pmsl!

ChocolateEclair · 17/08/2008 12:41

Aaaaagh! OMG! 2 BFP's in the same hour!!! Yey! I can't beleive it flirty! You were so convinced you hadn't concieved this month! I'm really happy for you aswell! This summer of love really does work hey!

detoxdiva · 17/08/2008 12:46

Hey Flirty - well done!! Congratulations - it's a great feeling isn't it.

CE - thanks! I am 4 weeks exactly due date is 26 April 2009 . I know it's really early days so trying to keep sensible about things but it's soooooo exciting.

I am dpo 13 on cd 29. Think I've said on here already, had some brown cm on dpo 8 & 9 along with an odd feeling in the pit of my stomach for the past 5 days. Also been really tired. Other than that, nothing to mention really - I didn't have any symptoms with dd so having this stomach 'ache' is a bit odd, but nice .

Looking back at ff, I ov'd on cd 16, and think we got lucky by bd'ing on cd 13, 14, 15 & 16, so by the time the egg came along, there were already plenty of troops there

majormoo · 17/08/2008 12:50

congrats Detox and Flirty. How exciting. Have you calculated your due dates?

Hope your pregnancy goes well Wellies.

CE I have heard feeling rubbish is a good sign too so hope that is some consolation for feeling awful. How far along are you now? Must be coming up for 8 weeks or so. The questions just keep coming with kids don't they? Sounds like it was very funny.

When I was at my parents my DD was doing the unending question thing, but it was quite sad really. My half sister was killed when a roller coaster collapsed when she was 12. This was way back in 1972-my dad has a couple of photos of her in his study, but none of us talk about her that often. I could hear while I was putting DS to bed, DD had followed my dad into his study and was asking him so many questions 'How did the rollercoaster collapse?' 'Did other children die?' 'Did you cry?' 'Did she go to heaven?' 'Did she have children?' 'Did XXX (my other half sister) cry?' etc etc. My poor dad was trying to stop the conversation as he still finds it difficult to talk about, but DD wasn't having any of it.

Knax · 17/08/2008 14:48

Detox and flirty that is fantastic!!!
So happy for you!!
Majormoo that is such a sad story about your half sister. How hard it must be at times like that when they go through the questions stage.
Can I ask those of you who have also had a mc in the past a question. was your first AF after mc REALLY heavy, clotting, gushes etc. I've just got AF yesterday almost 4 weeks since passing the foetal sac and it is sooo heavy. Almost like it was with mc. Is this normal?
waves to everyone else, esp HC, try not to get too downhearted re the witch HC
Knax xx
