Hi everyone,

Just got back from Wales. I had my blackberry with me so I checked in a couple of times (sad, aren't I).

Dawn - hope you're doing okay!! I agree with Bellie, you don't sound like a glass half empty girl...I admire your positivity to be honest!

Hi Heeby, good to see you joining us here!! And I'm glad the Clearblue showed something a little more positive!! I have my fingers crossed for the doctors!!! Your symptoms sound strong!

HC - I know what you mean about no troops left!! That's nearly where DH and I are! But I still haven't bloomin' OV'ed yet!! I am expecting to tomorrow or Tuesday....Tues would tie in with last cycle...just got to keep going. I think I might have mentioned that thing about ibuprofen. My Miriam Stoppard book says they can interfere with follicle development...? Anyhow, fingers crossed that Mandy's John Wayne month has worked it's magic for you!! I am feeling very positive about lots of graduates this months!!

Bellie - sounds like a great, but exhausting day in London!! I love London, and after reading about where you went, I'm having withdrawal symptoms...

Ceebee - glad the bean is moving lots more now and putting your mind to rest!!

CE - glad you had a lovely holiday! The pix look so nice and relaxed!

Wellie - oh, snoozing on the sofa sounds like a wonderful place to be! I have tried to spend the weekend getting some R&R, but fell asleep in the car on the drive home( I wasn't driving!!)

BB - I x'ed with you and Soosy too! Hehe!!

Out of curiosity, you got a + OPK on CD 9 and 10...do you know when you OV'ed, also do you have quite a short cycle? I'm on CD 13 with no +OPK and no temp rise or any sign of EWCM...grrr! So we're just keeping going with the John Wayne plan.

Hi ladies...
Am going to stay off here today as I'm feeling a bit miserable. No BDing at all this weekend, no +OV when I expected it, and now my temps are dropping again...
Have no idea how to get DH to BD more - he's always knackered in the evening and really not a morning person. I know I'm not PG this onth...but I'm now just worrying about how it will ever happen...

So...until I'm over myself and can share some cheer, I'll leave you lovely ladies.

Have a good one!

Morning all.

Dawn - so sorry to hear your news but glad you are getting through it. At least if you have conceived once you know you can do it again - very quickly in CE's case! I hope you conceive again soon as well.

AF got me on Saturday big style. In fact the worst ever, even DH is insisting that I get myself to the docs. Despite taking a cocktail of tablets still really really painful (and heavy - sorry if tmi). DH thinks endometriosis again . One of the reasons we were ttc again was so I could get a coil fitted or something to sort it out but I refuse to have one at the moment (one of the reasons I put off going to the doctors).

Hope everyone had a productive (or reproductive as the case may be ) weekend!

We had a bit of a film fest here at the weekend - Spiderman 3 on Saturday and Die Hard 4 last night.

.....

ChocolateEclair · 04/08/2008 10:10

sending some positive vibes for flirty (and BB) - you sound like you need cheering up.
It is awful this ttc thing - someone at work said to me "just enjoy it" - oh yeah right [sarcastic emoticon!]

As for trying to get DH more up for it, I found that the more info mine got eg. +opk, temp rises, etc the more pressure he felt under to perform at the right time. If I hadn't got this BFP, I was thinking of not telling him when the next fertile time was and just seducing him! Sometimes less info is good! Men are funny creatures! Hoping it happens for you soon xx

My (.)(.) are killing me this morning! Ouch!

HumphreysCorner · 04/08/2008 10:32

Flirty-sorry you are feeling so low. I totally understand how you feel but echo what CE says about not saying what part of your cycle you are at. My DH doesn't have a clue as when I got a +ive OPK and grinned he asked if I was PG. {{xx}}

belgianbun-I am considering avoiding all friends incase they drop the bombshell that they are PG and a) it was an accident, b) they only did it the one time and c) they weren't really trying. Try and have a nice time. {{xx}}

Willmouse-sorry the witch got you. Perhaps your body is having a good clearout? Hope the painkillers kick in very soon. {{xx}}

ChocEclair-ouch, poor you but well worth it eh?

Dawn-how are you today?

Mandy and Bellie-everything OK?

Waves to everyone else.

FF has decided I did OV on Friday-CD 13 so now DPO 3 and officially in the 2WW. Am not going to symptom spot and am preparing myself for -ive tests. DH and I are knackered-never in the history of mankind have we ever BD'd 5 times in one weekend.

Love to all

Morning all!

Flirty - I replied on the other thread, but don't be sad!!

BB - I'm only using the OPK sticks so often because I'm on cycle 2 and want to figure out what my body does each month! I got my OPK sticks from ebay and they weren't expensive. I looked at the one's in Boots and they are loads more...£20 for 7. I got 17 OPKs and 8 PG tests for about £5 on ebay.

Willmouse - you poor thing! I hate AF time!!!

CE - how are you feeling apart from the sore (.)(.)s

HC - I've started OPKing now every 12 hours...as I'm sure OV is immenient. I want to join the 2WW!!

I have decided that perhaps going back to serious TTC could be the way forward. When I sat and thought about it though I realised that it would have to be worked around next years' holiday which is already booked and reminded me of the same calculation I did last year. It will also mean I will have to stop TTC for a while as I will not be able to fly/take a baby out of the country.

I do wonder if, I did get pg, would I just be able to add an extra one to our holiday or would it have to be cancelled? A baby isn't included for anything under 2 so I can't imagine that there will be a problem but don't really want to phone up the travel agent and sound like some nutter!

Flirty - I have had some really low times when I have avoided this thread and must admit it doesn't really help. Just come on and talk about something else

DawnAS · 04/08/2008 11:01

Hello all,

HC - feeling fine thank you (strangely enough)... Just want to get on with it now. Not much bleeding now, just brown stuff like end of an AF visit. So hoping that by the weekend we can start trying again. Although we're not calling it trying as we're just going to relax and take it as it comes. Three times a week should cover all bases and get ourselves into a fun routine.

From 1st September (I set us a deadline so we didn't get over-excited) we're starting to house-hunt for our first house. We're really excited!! The plan is that we want to be in by Xmas. Shouldn't be too bad since we have nothing to sell and most houses that we like the look of, have no chain.

So that should totally keep my mind off TTC and we may find out that I'm already PG and haven't noticed because we're pre-occupied. That's what I'm hoping for anyway....

My goodness - I'm sorry I thought I was on the TTPFH thread (Trying to purchase first house....) .

I'm praying for lots of BFP for you ladies this month!!! Who's coming up first?!!

xxx

bluestarlavender · 04/08/2008 12:06

Dawn - I think you have a great plan moving forward. Esp. the house-buying!! How exciting! You're right, it's such a busy time, that you guys will probably forget to worry about when AF is due and find out you're lots of weeks PG!!

I have a question for everyone...I am a bit worried that I don't produce much CM. I've been drinking two glasses of grapefruit juice every day since CD1. I bought that book, Taking Charge of Your Fertility, and it is really good with pictures of what CM looks like and everything. It also shows how to check CM. I had a rumage today and it looks like I'm moving to fertile CM - it's clear and stretching about a 1cm. the problem is I really don't seem to produce very much of it at all...any advice?

I was thinking of trying the pre-seed you inject inside tonight. We had a play with the sachets over the weekend...which was fine.

BSL x

Bellie · 04/08/2008 12:25

BSL - I only every produced lots of cm on the month that I got pg - although with dd I didn't have any at all (mind you I didn't really know what I was looking for).

Dawn - what great plan! I think it sounds very positive and may bring the baby too!

Willmouse, sounds like you need to get yourself to the docs just to get checked out. TTC actively is the way forward too.

Flrity ((hugs)) I know what the others are saying about not letting dh in on the details, but it worked the other way for my dh. He found that even though he was tired he was more up for it as he knew he needed to be iyswim. It just depends on what works for you. Maybe take a break for a couple of days but I bet you will be back!!

BB for you too, it can really get to you can't it? Sending lots of positive vibes to you. x

Hope everyone else is ok.

DawnAS · 04/08/2008 12:48

Hi Bellie,

My DH was the same as yours. Some nights I really wasn't up for it and neither was he, but because we were doing it for a "special" reason, he was the one that took the initiative and told me to get on with it - ha ha!!

But after this MC, we're definitely of the opinion that it will happen when it's ready and we're just going to enjoy it in the meantime. Although it might be slightly easier for us to say that because we got PG on the first month of TTC. I can totally understand that I wouldn't be quite so laid back about it if we'd tried for much longer. I don't know that it'll be as easy for us 2nd time around....

BSL, I used to pray for your problem!! I've had to wear pantyliners all day every day since I got my first AF at 14. Not only does it cost a bloody fortune but it's also very uncomfortable and can make you very sore on really bad days! So don't pray too much for more CM....

Sounds like what you've got now is about right though!!

daisyj · 04/08/2008 14:03

ChocEclair Thanks! I have moments of excitement followed by fear [confused emoticon]. Feeling a little queasy and, as you so eloquently put it, bleugh. Also, pretty tired and boobs sore (but all symptoms are welcome, even the nausea ? which I didn?t have last time, so I?m convinced must be a good thing!) I?m sure I?ll feel better after first scan.

Dawn - you?re doing so well, hon. I know it will work out for you next time (and soon, too). The house thing sounds like a great distraction

BSL - I mostly don?t produce much CM either, and still managed to get PG twice. Not sure how relevant the amount is. Sorry, that?s not actually advice, I know, but I thought it might help

HC WELL DONE YOU! Put your feet up girl ? you deserve it. Worth it though, isn?t it? I hope your 2ww will be tolerable.

Willmouse sorry the AF b*tch got you in such a bad way.

BB so understand about you feeling about your friend?s PG. Sorry. One of the worst things about TTC I find, not being able to be 100% happy for a friend without a hint of personal sadness. I?d keep testing if I were you ? understand it gets v expensive though.

CE same here with the (.)(.)...

Heeby it aint over until the b*tch sings... all sounds good to me. Fingers crossed!

Bluestar welcome back & well done you too!! LOTS of drinking water can help with the CM production but I'm sure you'll be fine. Just don't do what some of the crayzee us ladies do and insert actual egg whites (yup I'm not lying). BD Merengue, anyone?

Ceebee so happy there?s more movement.

Dawn good plan, taking positive strides. V proud of you!

Hi Bellie you feeling good and full of energy as ever?

Flirty I?m sorry. Agree with CE too much info can be off-putting and it can be a pain finding a good time. I got DH onboard mainly because he wanted it so much too and I explained there really isn?t much of a window of opportunity at all each month, esp at our age, and how frustrating it is for me to have the 2ww each cycle kicking myself we?d not done it more. I tried to do it in a cuddly, smily, half joky way though (if that makes sense) saying how much I wanted what he wanted and how I was looking forward to this ?team work?. Flattered him a bit if you will.

DaisyJ can totally identify with your mixture of emotions. I agree all the symptoms are welcome though.

Waves to everyone else, hope you are OK. xx

Currently discussing weather to tell DHs parents this w/e (in person) and mine (on the phone). I want to, mainly for practical reasons, and if the worst happens we?d share it with them anyway. DH feels it?s a bit early (will be w 8), but I know they?d guess anyway and I don?t want to lie. Thoughts please?

OP posts:
bluestarlavender · 04/08/2008 14:47

Mandy - I would tell them! I can't do all the secrecy stuff...I'm no good at it! Did you really go for putting egg white there?? I read it in the book, but didn't consider doing that! I just thought I'd give the pre-seed a go. I am already drinking loads and lots of grapefruit juice. I'm not drinking any alcohol and making sure I take no medicine at all...my hayfever is awful! But I know antihistamines can dry up CM...

I am praying OV will happen soon...I started the BD fest far too early and am panicking we've peaked before OV!!

Oh and meant to say...HC - bloomin heck, girl! 5 times in one weekend!! That's good going!!! We've managed 5 times since Thursday morning. Can you still walk?

BSL x

DawnAS · 04/08/2008 14:56

Hi Mandy,

DH and I had decided that if close family members asked, we wouldn't lie and we would tell them. But we wouldn't offer the information freely until 12 weeks.

Everyone is different and I told some friends this time that I don't think I'd tell again. I would tell my very best friend and my good friend from work who is older than me and has a lot more experience. And I would tell my Mum. Other than that, we wouldn't tell anyone.

Hope no-one minds, but I'm going to have a rant.

When I was at the EPU on Thursday, there was a girl there who couldn't have been older than 19 with her (much) older boyfriend. She'd been in for a scan and was waiting for the Doctor. She then started whinging and whining because they'd had to put more money on the car and announced loudly that she shouldn't have to wait because there was nothing wrong so why couldn't she just go?! She was surrounded by women obviously very worried about their pregnancies and she was shouting her mouth off about a car-parking fee!! I recognised the surname of the girl as they're notorious in one of the towns near us for drug-dealing, even the Police are afraid of them.

The next girl had gone in at this time and we could hear sobbing coming from the room. Her and her partner came out of the room and he was virtually having to hold her up because she was so heartbroken as she'd just been told that her baby had died. So understandably, they rushed her through to the Dr, at which point the other girl got up shouting that she was first and that she had to go shopping so would they hurry up!!

Now, I can understand that everyone has the right to a child, but why should she have a healthy baby when the other woman should lose hers. It just doesn't seem fair...

Anyway, forgot to tell you all that last week, but to me, it's all wrong....

xxx

Mandy73 · 04/08/2008 14:57

BSL no maam I did not put raw egg whites up myself. I'll leave that to the US ladies even more bonkers than we are. xx

OP posts:
Mandy73 · 04/08/2008 15:02

Dawn totally understand your rant. My best friend, a very peaceful woman, went through five MCs in two years (Now she has 2 DS ). She said nothing has ever made her want to kill people more than sitting in all those waiting rooms consumed with fear, losing yet another baby, watching all these blasé horrible PG women. Life can be very unfair. xx

OP posts:
bluestarlavender · 04/08/2008 15:05

Dawn - that's terrible!! And not only that, you were also there, concerned for Pip! People can be so insensitive! She clearly wasn't bother whether her baby was fine or not. I'm not say she doesn't deserve a child, but I hope having one teaches her to be less self-centred!

Oh and thanks to you and Daisy for the re-assurance about CM! I know normally less is a good thing in terms of pantyliners etc. I guess I've been really struggling to make sense of the CM pattern through my cycle and this is why...

DH is up for trying the pre-seed tonight, so that should be entertaining!

BSL x

bluestarlavender · 04/08/2008 15:08

Mandy - glad to hear no BD mergingue! I couldn't believe it when I read it in the book!! I can't imagine it can really help!

Heebychick · 04/08/2008 15:36

Hi all, dawn i have just read your story about that awful girl and am so shocked some people are just terrible! i think i'd have to be restrained and held back from slapping her ! (not really but would feel like it)

Well i have just spent a lovely day with my good friend who is over from Oz with her little 6 month old DD, gorgeous girl and full of smiles! she has asked me to be her god mother which is wonderful.

On the symptom front, i have been feeling terribly nauseous today and very tired, weeing every hour still and (.)(.) still 'tingling'. Also i have just had some CM (sorry if tmi)

My friend said she didn't get a +ve until she was 6 weeks (2 weeks overdue from AF) so that gave me hope! i have a CB Digi so will test Wednesday or Thurs. Then i have to call the Dr on Fri if no +ve and still no AF. Then wil have a blood test to see what is going on.

Lots of love to you all, sounds like lots of BDing going on, great! xx
