We only caught 5 - sis caught 4 and DH one. I ended up spectating because the boat was sooo rocky I was frightened I would go over the side if I was holding a rod! Apart from the rockiness it was good though and we then bbq'd the fish on the beach afterwards which was yummy. Yep, I told my sis and she was really pleased for us. It was nice to tell her and not have to lie about why I wasn't drinking etc..

No more symptoms so far. Boobs seem to be the biggest symptom. They are getting much bigger. Get occasional sicky feeling, or hunger feeling, and felt really tired yesterday, but not sure if some of these are just normal feelings unrelated to the pregnancy Going by LMP I should be 5 weeks tomorrow.

Cosmogirl · 28/07/2008 08:37

Morning Glask! Yes, poor DH, I felt very sorry for him. He said that if this is how women feel during pregnancy - he has a new found sympathy!

GYo · 28/07/2008 08:39

Sounds like a great w/e. Good to tell your sis. I've not told any family and now i feel kind of weird about it. Will probably wait now til after the second early scan on 5th then tell select few.

Morning Glask - how are you feeling now?

calsworld · 28/07/2008 08:42

GYo, I'm the same as you, no appetite then go through a snacking phase. I wouldn't say I was craving tomatoes, but I am definitely eating more of them than I normally do! A meals not complete without a tomato somewhere ?! I think it must just be the high water content that I'm after.

I have been good and made myself a salad for lunch today, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, spring onion, roast chicken, coleslaw, cottage cheese and some rice with salad dressing mixed through it. YUM! Not sure its going to last till lunchtime!

I've got an important meeting at about 10 and feel really tired - eyes just want to close and its kind of hard to breathe, like a real effort if that makes any sense? I reckon a couple of coffees would sort it but will have to settle for a cup of tea followed by lots of lovely cooled water . I think I might be having mild palpitations too, kind of like a real pounding in my chest every now and again...does anyone else have this?

I'm now fairly sure that I'm only about 5.5 weeks, and seem to have less symptoms now than I did the week before I got my BFP, which I guess goes to show how much you can find when you're looking for it!

calsworld · 28/07/2008 08:45

x posted - morning Glaskham, how is your tummy?

Cosmo, fishing and BBQ sounds lovely - not of being on a rock boat though !

GYo, DH hasn't let me tell anyone yet! I'm really looking forward to telling my family .

calsworld · 28/07/2008 08:47

"rocky"

GYo · 28/07/2008 08:48

Oooh Cosmo - your lunch sounds good - My strange food thing is scones. Cant get enough of them. Have to be plain not fruity but yum yum yum. - Having said that, the ones I ate over the w/e didnt go down as well as usual....

I've had that palpatation thing. Usually first thing in the morning. At first I thought it was just panic about remembering the BFP but think its quite normal - heard others mention it. Its also got a bit better. Im now about 6.5/7wks.

Know what you mean about breathing. I have very mild asthma that I dont bother with drugs for as its so infrequent but when Im tired late in the afternoon I find that I get really bizarre spells of it.

GYo · 28/07/2008 08:49

Morning Cals

How are you?

glaskham · 28/07/2008 08:50

I'm almost fully recovered today thanks!!

Yesterday i felt a bit sick here and there, and had a teeny tiny headache still over one eye but woke up feeling all mended now!!

Good job as got my positive OPK yesterday and had loads of EWCM so thought i better still get on with GOFing!!

tinkisagracefulshamu · 28/07/2008 09:00

20 wk scan is on 29th of aug dds 3rd bday i really want a boy now.
anyone else have a preference to having a boy or girl

glaskham · 28/07/2008 09:04

ta tink- I swear i have a positive feeling about this cycle.... normally i get the day past positive OPk and think there's no chance i can get it this time.... and i feel that way until about 10dpo.... this month i'm feeling very positive already!!

I really hope we get it, but as normal it isn't the end of the world if we didn't!!

Going to Hull sounds good too tink- We're only really going to London to visit DH's mum and step-dad, but like you i'm just looking forward to getting away!! nice to have a change of scenery, and DH's family down there are Sooooo nice!!

glaskham · 28/07/2008 09:07

hope you get a boy then tinks!! though i'm sure you'd be just as happy with another girl

When pg with my two i wanted a boy 1st time round and got DS, 2nd time round wanted a girl and got DD.... i didn't plan any more than the 2 of them until about 9-12mths ago and we desperatley want another boy for some reason, think we just prefer our boys name to our girls name!!

My sister really wants a boy too!! her '12wk' scan is on tuesday, but i think she'll be at least 14-15wks!!

glaskham · 28/07/2008 09:31

right i am off to dress the kids, and probably do more cleaning today.... I may even start on my packing as its only 4 sleeps till we go!!

hope you all have a good day!! will be around through the day as i'm so addicted

calsworld · 28/07/2008 10:27

GYo, Cosmo, Playing, Kalikaroo and all other graduates - do you know about the wagon A/N thread? It was started back in May so has dropped off the active convo's as there's been very little activity on it - most people have either stayed on here or disappeared altogether it seems , anyway, its here if you want to join it!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 28/07/2008 10:39

Morning girlies

Cosmo, glad you ahd a lovely weekend, hope you were as lucky as us with the weather?

Glask glad you're feeling better

Welcome to the newbies

Sorry have forgotten everything!

Oh no, Tink, hooray for the scan date

Isn't the weather gorgeous? I am melting but not moaning, would rather melt than freeze any day!

Had a good weekend, the boys spent the whole weekend in the garden, we gardened around the slide/water table/swing/scooter/etc. etc.! And I spent the afternoon yesterday cleanign the bathroom, even got an old toothbrush on the grout and everything! Then had a lovely cool bath Burnt my back while gardening (through a top ) so am a bit tender this morning!

I am feeling a bit pissed off with my mum at the moment, so was very good to take my mind off it/scrub away frustrations!

Haven't decided what to do with the rest of today, more of the same of yesterday I think!

Hi Cals- thanks, I will join this one too

Morning Nat- your w/e sounds lovely. Hope you enjoy more sunshine today.

My office is freezing- aircon going mad, which is nice but Im dressed for the beach!

GruffaloSoldier · 28/07/2008 11:29

Hello,

Glad everyone enjoyed their sunny weekend! I certainly did. We went in a canoe down the basingstoke canal on Friday and to a country park on Saturday and then hung out by the pool at a friends house. Didn't do much work though so need to crack on now as my final deadline is on Thursday!

I cant wait til its all over!!! Then I've got my sisters wedding on Sunday. Im very excited. Then on 5th Aug is our second wedding anniversary!

tinkisagracefulshamu · 28/07/2008 11:57

have an appointment through to see obstetrician when i am 24 wks to discuss birthing options as worried about tearing like with dd.
your wknds sound gd nat and gruf

GYo · 28/07/2008 12:14

Hi Gruffalo and Tink-

Glad your study is nearly over GS- are you doing anything to celebrate your 2yr anniversary?

Tink- great news about the obstetric appt. Are there optiosn to avoid tearing if you've had it before? Interested now.

Lunchtime here...

tinkisagracefulshamu · 28/07/2008 12:50

i am not sure midwife said that they would make me an appointment to go through all options to stop me worrying

GruffaloSoldier · 28/07/2008 12:52

Hi Gyo! We will definitely do something to celebrate. Not sure what yet though! Last year we went back to the restaurant we were at the night DH proposed!(he didnt propose in there because he couldn't get the ring box in his pocket!)

Re tearing, my sis asked to be cut so she didn't tear. Apparently much better

GYo · 28/07/2008 13:04

Thats funny about the ring box some of the boxes are really chunky- suppose its not worth risking the ring getting mixed up with loose change and falling out!

My DH had to wear a particular jacket to hide the box in. Was a rainproof jacket, but fortunately for him it was raining. I still call it his "engagement jacket" to this day which drives him mad. Still I had no idea what he was about to do, which made it lovely.

Did you know your DH was about to pop question?

GruffaloSoldier · 28/07/2008 13:23

Had an inkling but he kept me guessing! Lovely dinner followed by romantic walk along the river in godalming in twilight. Both great opportunities for proposing but he didn't! Finally back to my house and I was busy in kitchen, then went back to my bedroom. Door was closed which was strange (by this time I thought if he was going to do it he would have done it by now)Opened the door to one of my favourite songs starting up, a room full of candles and DH down on on one knee in the middle. He had this little speech prepared and a bottle of champagne in the fridge! it was such a shock! What was funny was that he was down on one knee still, I was hugging him and then we looked down and in between the two of us was my landlords gorgeous cat looking up at us! It was so funny.

Ahh memories

What about you?
