glaskham · 25/07/2008 15:34

well i've had the paracetamol (ta GYo) but not much change, had a nap and that got rid of the sickness feeling but then my headache has come back even worse!! have just had 2 dissolvable co-codamol which i hope work!!

On a good note the kids have been fantastically behaved today, DS went in his room like a very good boy and watched the santa clause movie (his choice) and DD went to sleep in her buggy no problems so i got a good couple of hours rest, they are now watching cbeebies (oh the shame in it) and DS is sat playing jigsaws too!!

I'm going to be an even worse mother and feed them a tin of sausages and beans for tea with toast!! but it'll be back to normal healthy teas as soon as I'm better!!

glaskham · 25/07/2008 15:38

We went to camelot a couple of weeks ago (similar sort of place, aimed more at the kids) and had loads of fun!! We hope to get to chessington next summer!!

Not sure if I'll be on this weekend as visiting sister in Brighton/eating mackerel etc..! Hope everyone has good weekends.

Morning everyone!

DH came back last night and I did another test - very bright blue cross (even stronger than the picture on the box!!) - so I reckon it's no a definite!!

DH in complete and utter shock - first words were "f**cking hell" (sorry for the language!) followed by 2 hours of silence (in which time I was quite worried by his reaction!), then he gave me a massive kiss !

Hope you're all having a good weekend so far - our camping trip is being postponed for the mo' until next weekend. (Shame really, but DH has a pulled muscle in his shoulder).

SesQal · 26/07/2008 07:36

Morning Kal! That's fab news Can't believe your DH was quiet for 2hours
Btw hope you don't mind my new name?!

calsworld · 26/07/2008 09:15

SesQal - I'm sure Kal doesn't mind and I don't either!

Kal, seeing the strong BFP makes it a bit more real but its taken me about five days to get used to the idea, which seems silly to me when I've been actively trying for six months.

I'm determined not to whinge about symptoms of pg too as I'm just so relieved to have made it this far. I feel a bit guilty as I joined the March thread straight away....

Kal / Cosmo, I'm really confused about my EDD, if I use my average cycle length, then my EDD is 21st March but if I use my OV date + standard LP to estimate this cycle length, it would have been a 37 day cycle, which would put my EDD back towards the end of March possibly? the beginning of April. I think frankly, I'm clueless and will only know when I go for my first dating scan.

I rang the doc's and they said booking in was between 8 - 10 weeks and they're currently booking at the end of August, so I should have booked an appt there and then, but was confused (again!) so didn't. I'll have to ring back on Monday .

Going to pick up some more mumomega tablets today as had my last one yesterday but have an ample stock of pregnacare which I've been much more diligent with since last week, hope its enough.

DH, DS and I are going swimming this afternoon and then have a friends birthday BBQ to go to tonight, so a lovely day planned - must remember the sun cream though, its boiling here already!!

Cosmogirl · 26/07/2008 09:27

Morning all,

Just thought I would pop on quickly before we leave for Brighton. Think I am going to tell Sis the news and swear her to secrecy because we haven't told anyone yet.

Did another FR this morning and the line appeared much quicker. It was thicker and really dark - darker than the control line - which wasn't the case on the other tests.

Batman film was brilliant but think my sense of smell has increased and the smell of wine, popcorn, food etc was making me feel a bit bleurgh during the film!

Cal - I'm not sure of my EDD yet, but think it will be early April. Think I'll join an AN thread in a few weeks time.

Kal - congrats! It is such a surreal feeling isn't it. My DH has been similar. Will it be your first child?

calsworld · 26/07/2008 09:32

Cosmo - yay for strong BFP! Reassuring isn't it!

Have a lovely weekend, you'll probably enjoy it more if your sister does know!

tinkisagracefulshamu · 26/07/2008 09:33

morning

congrats kal gr8 news

i am off to toysrus to get dds xmas pressy have money so being organized.
in aft having lunch in town then going in estate agents to enquire about selling

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 26/07/2008 09:43

Morning all

Well that's it, first week of summer hols over with, only another 5 and a half to go....!

Congrats on the stronger lines everyone, it is always reassuring to see it come up quickly

Those confused about EDD's, I'd say to go off when you think you OV'd (so date you OV'd plus 38 weeks), it's likely to be much closer to the date you'll get at the dating scans. When I got my BFP, I was thinking I'd have been due mid-late Jan, dating scan put me back (or forward? ) to the 3rd of Jan! And it is always nicer to find at the scan that your EDD is earlier than you thought!

I am 17 weeks today, time seems to be gathering momentom, the weeks are dragging but building up quickly if that makes any sense whatsoever?!

I expect Kay would have had her 20 week scan by now, bet she's been bursting to get on and let us know!

Morning everyone. I am really upset (well not upset that is the wrong word but can not think of the correct word to use) at the moment. I have been bullied into leaving my dd with her nanny for the day.

I know it will do her good and I know that she needs to be away from me sometimes but I miss her already!!!. She is 16 months old and I have never been apart from her so today is going to be really hard.

Nanny is lovely and I know she will be ok but she is my baby (PFB anyone )

Hope everyone else is well. I am still feeling very sick but the moods are better now...

EmmaBlemma · 26/07/2008 10:39

I am 12dpo today, woke up with a nice high temp then 5 mins later realised I am spotting with v mild cramps ...

I was on the mini pill for 2yrs with no periods at all so can't remember what my cycle was like. This is my 1st month ttc and 1st month charting. Luckily everything has started to work straight away...

Has anyone experienced high temps with af?? Also is it possible to bleed around time period is due and be pregnant?? To be honest its this high temp that has thrown me.

I would be grateful if anyone has any ideas. I posted same question on another thread but this one seems busier so sorry for repeating myself xx

lardybump · 26/07/2008 10:43

I would say the temp is a very good sign. I was temping and my temp went up to 37 I think. The spotting could be implantation bleed and the cramps could be anything. I think you need to test just to be sure.

kookykid · 26/07/2008 10:45

Morning
It's scorching here - bliss!

LB Don't worry about DD - she'll be fine!! It's much worse for us than it is for them. Know exactly how you feel!

Emma, Sorry, I don't know about temps I'm afraid, but there other people on here who do who will be along sooner or later.

Right I'm, off to sprawl in the garden and maybe dip my feet in DD's paddling pool. see you later

lardybump · 26/07/2008 10:46

Sounds great Kooky, have fun..

calsworld · 26/07/2008 10:51

Sorry, I can't help EmmaB as I never did temping, have you signed up to FertilityFriend? A lot of people who temp enter their daily measurements into that website as it helps suggest what could be going on.

Hi LB, I know how you feel about having PFB's and having to give them up - my MIL wants DS for a week and I'm soooo not ready for that and I don't think DS is either! He spends all day at nursery so its not like he's not used to being away from me, but he is used to having mum and dad around in the evenings and he loves the weekends when he doesn't go to nursery! And aside from all that, MIL wouldn't be able to keep up with DS for that long!

Having said all that, that was when DS was about 16 months, he's just turning 20 months now and with the extra tiredness from pg I'm about ready to leave him with the GP's and jet off on holiday somewhere for a real break.......ooooohhhh for a lie in!

Am a bit worried about how I'm going to manage with a newborn with night feeds and having to stay awake during the day with DS. I know it must be possible and seem to remember just about being able to cope with DS so guess my body will develop some superhuman ability to be awake alot!

I'm hoping I'll find the whole thing alot easier second time around, mastering BF lying down with DS was a revelation so if I can sort that earlier with DC2 then maybe that way salvation lies...
