Hi LB!

Am not feeling too great today. Work is stressing me out and just getting worried about silly stuff like whether I am doing a good enough job etc! Prob just hormones going haywire [You did ask.....] How's you?

Playingthe9monthwait · 23/07/2008 16:48

Hi LB. I am fine and dandy (apart from the fact I feel like shit) but hey thats normal isn't it!

Ses15 · 23/07/2008 16:50

Hi! It's been busy on here today

It's really hot and stuffy today. Don't know how all you duffed ladies are coping??! My 15 month old nephew who's staying with us at the moment gets really bad eczema in the heat so we're trying to keep him as cool as poss.

Btw, keep meaning to ask: I have no nieces and nephews on my side but DH has 8 on his side which I love. DH says though that I can't call them my nieces and nephews as they are his. Has anyone else come across this before? I think he just is scared they'll become more attached to me. He does feel a bit guilty that all his family are over in Ireland and he doesn't get to see them much. This week with some of them over he couldn't get the week off like I have too. I think I can still call them my -or even our! - nieces and nephews. What do you think?

lardybump · 23/07/2008 16:50

Oh Cosmo so sorry you are having a rough time. I am sure you are doing a great job, Hormones have a way of making you feel like this.....

I am ok still feeling very sick but happier than before....

Ses15 · 23/07/2008 16:53

Sorry you're not feeling great Playing and Cosmo. I'm sure the heat won't be helping

lardybump · 23/07/2008 17:03

Yes playing feeling like shit is all part and parcel i am afraid.....

Ses I call dp brothers girls my neices and dp calls my sisters girls his neices so you dh is wrong....

Ses15 · 23/07/2008 17:09

Thanks LB! I think DH knows that really but is sad he doesn't get to see them as much as his other 5 brothers and sisters who are all in Ireland. DH is also one of the biggest wind up merchants I know so I should pay less attention!!

Playingthe9monthwait · 23/07/2008 17:12

Don't worry about me I'm fine, I expected to feel shit at this point and tbh I am quite lucky cos I'm not throwing up that much, just feeling sick almost constantly. But I think I've got away with it quite lightly so far.

Ses - off course you their aunty!!! All my aunts and uncles are married and of course only one of each couple is realted to me in blood the other is just realted by law but that doesn't stop them both being my aunt and uncle. What a silly thing to say, when I was a kid I had no concept of which one was actually my mum/dads brother/sis and which one was related by law, they were all family!!

Playingthe9monthwait · 23/07/2008 17:13

Ok I am taking my headache home to rest. "see" you all tomorrow.

Cosmogirl · 23/07/2008 17:14

Hi Ses, yep I agree with LB, would call them your nieces and nephews too.
I don't know why I'm feeling so rubbishy today. I need to stop worrying about work and focus on the more important stuff. Easier said than done though. I've been working at home this afternoon and achieved very little, so feeling guilty about that too!

Cosmogirl · 23/07/2008 17:20

I have a question for all those who have done the preg thing before - which is the worst bit? First trimester, second or third? Honest answers please! [you can't say the birth!]

Ses15 · 23/07/2008 17:21

Thanks Playing & Cosmo for agreeing with LB! I will ignore DH! (just this once!)

Cosmo - don't feel guilty. You and your bean are much more important

Cosmogirl · 23/07/2008 17:25

Thanks Ses - I know you're right - I need to chill out....

lardybump · 23/07/2008 17:29

The first 12 weeks are the worst cosmo. Most people make a real fuss of you once you are showing later in the pregnancy but you feel fine then. The first 12 months are the worst and because you dont show people dont acknoledge it....

Second trimester is a peice of piss and the third you may feel like a house but apart from that it is ok. About a week befoe the birth I got really hormonal last time but no where near as bad as in the first 12 weeks...

lardybump · 23/07/2008 17:30

night playing..

Ses15 · 23/07/2008 17:30

Have not done the pg thing yet but I know most people say 2nd trimester is easiest...

tinkisagracefulshamu · 23/07/2008 17:31

sorry that you are feeling rough cosmo and lardy
ses they are definetly yours 2
cosmo worst bit i would say is the first few weeks of waiting and worrying then after that definetly the home stretch last month when you get so big it is uncomfortable. with dd i fely huge i am only little though 5ft2ins and skinny.
found getting comfy in bed @ night the worst is like a beached whale. general moving around is uncomfortable
hope i havent put you off lol

Cosmogirl · 23/07/2008 17:44

LB - I like how you said the first '12 months' are the hardest! Was that a freudian slip, do the first 12 wks actually feel more like a year?! Lol...

lardybump · 23/07/2008 17:48

LOL Cosmo they do indeed... .

Kalikaroo · 23/07/2008 18:38

Hi everyone! Hope you're all having a good day.

I'm on CD33 now and no sign of the witch or any symptoms...very odd...

Going to give in and buy a test if there's nothing by the weekend , though we're going camping (in a tent), so would be great not to have a visit from the witch if poss!

...Hmmmmm.....visit from the witch, camping and no loos....

GYo · 23/07/2008 20:24

Just catching up from today. Quiet on here tonight. Anyone out there?

LB- so funny regarding the first 12 months comment.

Cals- lol re the woman saying ?are you a little bit pregnant? ? cant believe how direct some people are

Ses- defo those are your nieces, part of being married or having a partner. Definitely claim them as your own

Playing- how are you feeling? Ive had a few headaches and it?s a challenge not reaching for the drugs. But it does go eventually on its own. Quite satisfying to not take medication.

Kal ? good luck staying strong til the w/e. Definitely best to wait as long as you can.

Gruffalo- are you around or are you still celebrating finishing your draft dissertation?

calsworld · 23/07/2008 20:25

Rachrox · 23/07/2008 20:50

Hi Ladies,
I haven't posted on here in ages but just been lurking around reading everyone's posts!

How's everyone feeling? I've just got back from a week camping in cornwall, it was ok apart from the nightly trips to loo across the field .

I've also started telling people now as i really cannot hide it any longer even tho i'm only 9+5 wks. Does anybody else have stupid people saying really dumb things when they find out ure pregnant? I know i'm pregnant with dc4 but all i get is 'wow you're going to have your hands full!' or 'REALLY??'

Sorry to rant on but sometimes... grr....

How's everyone coping with the summer hols?
