When I was preg with DS I knew within about 5 seconds that I was pregnant...never had that feeling before and was very bizarre.

What's the earliest you felt different?

I literally felt that soemthing different happened. Sorry about this.. but... as he came, something kind of went 'pop', it felt different. I went to the loo after and sat there and said to myslef. 'OMG, I've just conceived'. I just KNEW it, no question, no doubt, I knew for sure...and i was.

Same with me, it was just intuition. I was going home on the train and I just remember thinking 'I'm pregnant'. I started having doubts later, but that initial instinct was right.

I still don't understand how it works though...

expatinscotland · 04/02/2005 21:47

I felt the ovum burst out. And I felt it the Fallopian tube. It was the left ovary, and that was confirmed by a scan I had when I was 4 weeks gone - you could still see the corpus luteum.

Then I felt the uterus stretching. But I didn't feel implantation.

I can always feel myself ovulate. It's usually only off the left side, but this time, it was off both.

I was 5 wks when prg test was confirmed - we had been trying for 8 months and dh and I had fell out - I had had flu and was feeling low, my mum and dad were going to america on the sunday and on the wed my mum said I should go with her for a break and phoned there and then to book aflight with them I went to pub and told dh I had something to tell him and he said - your pregnant and I said no i'm going to america on sun. When I was there i started feeling sick but just thought it was the heat in the car and 1 day my mum and I were in a mall and we were sitting outside a maternity clothes shop and said are you sure you couldnt be preg and I said no, came home 2 weeks later and thought I had jet lag for 2 days then started feeling as though I was going to faint - phoned my DR and she said she was not a betting women but she would put money on it that I was preg - everybody seemed to know before me p still laugh at that day in pub when i said no and i was all along

ChicPea · 04/02/2005 22:07

HappyMum, what does implantation feel like??

lilsmum · 04/02/2005 22:35

that is so weird that you knew exactly when it happened.... i never did i must say but i knew a couple of days before period was due, just had a feeling and knew there was no question about it the test would be positive, but i have never heard of what you have all experienced before....so spooky lol

Really interested to see how many people just knew straightaway. I did too, but when I told people they thought I was making it up! Never met a RL person who knew immediately!

lucy5 · 05/02/2005 11:24

I knew before my period was late. No signs or symptoms I just knew. I tested so early that my line was very faint so I did about 3. Still wasnt 100% convinced even though I knew. My mum ran up the chemist and showed the pharmacist, uugh.

I knew a couple of weeks before I did a test, I was so tired and queassy - and I did the test as soon as I could.

Also, looking back, the day I conceived I kept patting my stomach. I couldn't help myself. Very strange.

Ameriscot2005 · 05/02/2005 13:10

Missed period was always my first sign, and confirmed shortly afterwards by HPT.

Other than that, sore right leg would usually rear its ugly head around the 5 week mark and MS around 7 weeks.

berolina · 05/02/2005 20:56

The week before my period was due I had slightly sore breasts, which I'd never had pre-menstrually, so suspected something was up. I also had a certain 'feeling' I was pg, but talked myself out of it as I was ttc after m/c and didn't want to set myself up for diasppointment. But - two lovely pink lines on that test!

PicadillyCircus · 05/02/2005 20:58

About 5 seconds after the deed was done I had the feeling I was going to be pregnant.

With DS I knew before the deed was done - DH had a headache but there was no getting away from it .

crazy · 05/02/2005 21:20

I also knew I was pregnant, whilst we were having intercourse, I felt something happen, it was so weird, and very emotional...have never told my dh as I thought I was abnormal. Really interesting reading other peoples messages, and seeing this has happened to others, has made me feel like i didn't dream it!

zippy539 · 05/02/2005 21:22

With ds I felt a weird 'tugging' in my tummy about a week after 'the deed' and wondered if I was, but we'd been trying for years with no joy so didn't hold out much hope. 9 months later ds was here.

With DD I knew within a week of conception because when I was in the supermarket I found myself inexplicably buying a pack of 'Kalibar' low alcohol lager - I knew I was pg as soon as I reached for it because I normally find it revolting but crave it madly when I'm pg!

tex111 · 06/02/2005 01:31

Within a few days of the deed DH and I looked at each other and we both just knew it had happened. I had very flushed cheeks and warm hands which DH noticed as unusual. I felt implantation too about 6 days after. It was a hot, poking pain on my right side and the scan later confirmed that that was where he had implanted. I also just knew from the beginning that DS would be OK though I did have some health problems during the pregnancy.

With my second pregnancy I knew before I got a positive test but I felt anxiety about it from the beginning and lost it at 11 weeks. The third time I had very sore breasts within a week of conceiving, knew I was pregnant but again felt it wouldn't last and it didn't.

emmatmg · 06/02/2005 07:29

Ds1 was when I did the test. BFP first time

Ds2 was a BFN on the first test and I was shocked, didn't feel any different but was amazed that I wasn't PG. Did another one the next day and got a BFP.

Ds3 when I got the morning after the night before. I was standing in the kitchen making a cup of tea and I can remember vividly the feeling of absolute, complete and utter joy of "OMG I'm pregnant". I'd been feeling desparately broody for about 15 month and never in a million years thought I'd be able to change DH's mind to agree with me. Ds3 is 16 months now and I'm still amazed that I changed Dh's mind.

I wonder if Dh will ever agree to no.4?........

bathmummy · 06/02/2005 08:48

again knew straight away both times but still didn?t stop we wondering and worrying until it was test time. Really need to learn to trust intuition.

Moomin · 06/02/2005 08:49

i wonder if there's a connection with 'feeling' you are pg straight away and not having ttc for a long time. i just find it quite interesting because if you look on the ttc boards, esp with those who have been trying for quite a while, lots of them/us have so-called symptoms in their two-week-wait, that actually turn out not to be symptoms because their period arrives.

i wonder if that's because when you are ttc you are minutely aware of every single twinge and ache and feeling you have and you 'read' a pg into it. if you're not ttc as such, maybe the pg symptoms/feelings stand out like a sore thumb because you're not looking for them.

sorry if this seems a fuzzy jumble - can't get my words to work properly this morning. does anyone know what i'm getting at?

emmatmg · 06/02/2005 09:02

I understand completely moomin.

We weren't TTC with Ds3, well Dh was but I didn't know he'd changed his mind until afew days later. We fell PG on that one and only attempt, I'm sure he's gutted about missing out on loads of sex

So as far as I was aware we were just "doing the deed" for fun but I still knew the next day.

Good luck to you for TTC BTW

fredtbad · 06/02/2005 09:16

With my daughter I felt implantation & thought my period was coming, next night at a party I kept having drinks bought for me then somehow not drinking them. Not on purpose of course that would be a complete sin, but I noticed everyone else seemed to be drinking much faster than me & when I totted it all up I'd had 1/2 bacardi breezer all night! Four days later I tested on the day on my period, but I knew I was pg before the BFP. I felt absolutely "centred & calm" if that makes sense. That feeling like everything was in it's place.
With Ds, sex was planned with military precision to conceive a boy so when I felt ovulation on the afternoon of having morning sex I knew I was pg, again all that day I had a very weird, all is well with the feeling that I have never ever had.
Just my twopenneth.
