Hey everyone, I am on the TTC mission this month back on the wagon!! No oppurtunity will be left this month I had no one to blame but myself for last months results as you actually need to BD and not be lazy ha ha. So fingers crossed for everyone and I wil return to my mission x

zen1980 · 18/11/2008 21:43

Sorry forgot to ask, does anyone know if being on medication for a thyroid disfunction affects chances of TTC?

ShayeraHol · 18/11/2008 21:52

Boo, Jaamy, sorry you're having a rough one.

Great to have found some BFPs though - suddenly this thread feels like a happier place!

Hope this month works out better zen - sounds like a few of us had the same kind of month!

beanieb · 19/11/2008 11:38

ShayeraHol - I feel your pain RE Call of Duty 5

Jaamy · 19/11/2008 12:04

Real sympathy for you Call of Duty widows. I often feel like telling DH to "Step away from the laptop". He's just discovered FB now too so is currently looking up all his old school chums...I'm stuffed (or not)

Mammina · 19/11/2008 12:10

ok girls are you ready for this......I have just had a BFP!!!!!! I don't get it. Still feel crampy and like I'm about to come on so I'm convinced it's a mistake, plus I peed in a pot and stuck the stick in rather than peed on it (bec I was convinced I was going to come on so didn't want to waste a test - could that have made a difference?). Don't know why I even tested really after only having sex once and that technically being too early in the month.
anyway am totally confused, not excited bec don't believe it can be right

Mammina · 19/11/2008 12:17

friend has just arrived so have to log out and am out tonight, will check in later
x

Jaamy · 19/11/2008 12:25

MIGOLA HUNNNIIII! Gosh I really hope that this sticks for you. I am so excited it might have been my BFP!

It only taked the once, you know. Maybe that's where you've been going wrong, not BD early enough in your cycle, you little early ovulator you!

Take it easy. x

ClaireDeLoon · 19/11/2008 13:29

Migola - congratulations and sticky thoughts!

When I got pregnant before we had done it once all month we realised when we looked back. Ponders new only do it once approach

Jaamy · 19/11/2008 13:42

zen - forgot to post (in all the excitement) that I think I may have read somewhere, either on the TTC boards or elsewhere on MN that thyroid med affects your cycle lengths or something. Try a search for throid and TTC and see what pops up.

MollieMooma · 19/11/2008 18:19

Migola congratulations lovely, I am so pleased for you [girn]
Jaamy Sorry she got you

blackrock · 19/11/2008 18:30

Well done Migola, great to have a BFP on here.

Hello to everyone else and hope you are well as can be.

I don't think I have ovulated this month...temp went up and then back down again between day10 and 16 I normally seem to OV at around day 15 according to fertility friend, but I thin around day 11.

Have not heard anything about a referral, so going to the GP with printed off charts and lists of signs of OV!

ShayeraHol · 19/11/2008 18:50

SQUEEEEEEE! Great news, Migola. Definitely must try the one time only and too early approach (hmmm, maybe Call Of Duty is a blessing after all ). Thinking sticky thoughts for you.

zen1980 · 19/11/2008 21:47

Congrats Migola, it's a sign for us all now!! Things are on the up x

Mammina · 19/11/2008 22:49

thanks for lovely messages everyone, jaamy maybe you're right that I've been ovulating early & that's where I've been going wrong. I kept doing ovulation sticks but nothing was coming up & I just thought I wasn't doing it right & got fed up of them.
To be honest I feel a bit numb in a strange way, as if I can't let myself get excited after last time. I did another test though and that was positive too so I guess I must be pregnant! I think I'm almost going to pretend to myself that it's not true for a while and try not to think too much about it.
typical though, I have been drinking the last couple of weeks (not blind drunk but a few glasses of wine), and I've had loads of smelly non pasturised cheese....
Anyway do you mind if I don't graduate myself for a bit, just in case I jinx it?
I really do hope it's a sticky one though and that it's a start of a long bout of BFPs for all of us

Jaamy · 20/11/2008 16:18

Ahem, posted by Migola 5 days before BFP "oh gosh it's not been a good month... Sore boobs for me so period on its way but I'm not counting this month anyway bec it would be immaculate conception if I got pregnant!"

I AM on my way over in my bestest wise man outfit with my 2 mates! Don't know where we're gonna find the camels though!

Please take things easy. Have you been recommended to take baby asprin? Sending you all the stickiest vibes.

Drunky drunk drunk drunk it is then, Ei!

At least I will have had my one BD of the month (since that's the way to do it, apparently) by then so won't be too bothered if I pass out when I get home!

Mammina · 20/11/2008 16:28

thanks Ei, sorry to see you back at the top again.

thanks Jaamy that made me laugh and cry! I look forward to opening the door to you in your outfit!! Am feeling really emotional today and keep crying, scared of getting too excited and am going to hold off going to the doctors for at least a week.
What is baby aspirin? Surely not real aspirin??? (sorry if thick). Am eating loads of spinach & taking pregnacare.

Jaamy · 20/11/2008 16:43

Sorry Migola. Didn't mean to upset you. Tis normal for your hormones must be all over the place. Use it as an excuse for some extra spoiling from DH.

Sometimes doctors recommend taking a low dose of aspirin daily if you have had early MCs.

BTW - you'll smell us before you see us..those camels have really bad breath.

Mammina · 20/11/2008 16:51

don't be silly jaamy it was a nice post
will get an appt with GP for early next week & ask about the aspirin, thanks for the tip

ShayeraHol · 20/11/2008 18:27

I'm still that we're finishing this thread with a BFP (even if it's not mine ).

2 interesting things I found out today:

I may be joining Claire in the broken foot stakes - have to go for an xray in a week or so to find out if it's broken or some other pain-causing thing. V exciting. My boss says it's very trendy to have a broken metatarsal so hoping that's it (plus the other option of something nerve-related sounded a bit more serious). So what's the deal with xrays when TTC? I seem to remember reading something about iron aprons!

And also found out that I should be taking mega dose Folic Acid (the 5mg one) - I was issued a prescription back in Feb, but stupid surgery didn't bother to tell me! So tomorrow I have to phone Boots and find out if they still have it, and if not try to get it reissued by the doc. So on balance am now actually quite relieved that I haven't succeeded on the TTC up to now because could have worked out not so well.

That's the excitement in ShayeraWorld - how's everyone else? Sorry you're back at the top Ei, but bonus to the ability to have a pissup!

ClaireDeLoon · 20/11/2008 19:31

Ei sorry you're back at the top

Shayera - what have you been up to? How did you break it? Fingers crossed whatever the problems is (a break, nerves etc) it heals OK!

X-rays - just tell them you're ttc when they do the x-ray, especially if you're in the 2ww. I started a thread about my broken foot in general health. Will go find it in a minute. However if you think you may be needing an op or more x-rays then it becomes more tricky and I'm afraid I don't know the answers because I can't work them out for us.

I have to go back 11th December, if it is still hurting (which it is now) then they may do a CT scan to get a look at the bone all around. If it isn't healing properly they may do a bone graft from my hip. Part of me says that's too scary to go through in early pregnancy when the only time I have been pregnant previously ended in a mc at 9 weeks and part of me just thinks what the hell the last 14 months haven't worked why should this cycle anyway. On balance we'll probably not try this month and see what happens on 11th.

ClaireDeLoon · 20/11/2008 19:37

here is the thread asking for advice

ShayeraHol · 20/11/2008 20:45

Thanks Claire - that's a really useful thread! I've got no idea what I did, been having pain for a couple of months but as it's been getting worse I decided time to talk to the doc about it. Thought it was a broken toe, which I know they can't do anything about, but glad I went now. Don't think it's anywhere near as bad as yours sounds though - no cast for me, for a start!

THe heels question you mention in the other thread is my biggest concern! I'm only 5'2 so would go mad if I had to wear flats forever

beanieb · 20/11/2008 21:55

Have stopped the agnus castus and a interested to see if my ovulation date changes this month. CD 9 and a low still on the monitor. Was getting a peak on day 11 (while taking it) so tomorrow I will hopefully get a high. we'll see. Never thought I would be a year down the line with no BFP. Am sure plenty of ladies have been here before.

Have been lax with my vitamins but bought a new batch today.
