I really don't think I have had a CP and I was only about a day late this cycle (A week late last time) - did two tests when I was late and nothing at all. I have read that your blood will clot, and sometimes they will be big ones, if your period is really heavy and fast. I had 2 days of really heavy bleeding then a few hours of nothing, went to the cinema, came home and went to the loo and the clots literally popped out. I think it's just a big rush of blood and my body not having enough anti-clotting stuff.

nervousal · 04/08/2008 14:53

I don't use any ovulation predictor tools - have really just decided that we are TTC and don't want ot medicalise the whole process if you know what I mean? Something inside me tells me that if we start trying too hard then we'll be more upset if its doesn't happen? Does that make any sense at all?

QueenyEisGotTheBall · 04/08/2008 16:44

beanie the only reason i said about CP is cos when i had my second one i lost bigish sized clots and i dont usually have clotty AFs so this was highly unusual for me anyway which further confirmed my CP. do you usually have really heavy, clotty AFs? or is this unusual for you aswell?
nervousal it makes perfect sense to try not to medicalise things i sometimes wish i hadnt started temping but then i forget i didnt want to when i do my temp in the morning it does no harm to be relaxed in your approach to TTC
xx ei xx

scully · 05/08/2008 04:01

Makes sense Nervousal, you need to do what you're comfortable with. We're trying for dc3 (5th pregnancy) and I don't temp, use opk's sometimes, when I remember to dh and I are lucky to bd the right week, with 2 children already, that is effort enough

beanieb · 05/08/2008 08:34

hiya Queenie, I do get clots sometimes but never this big am scared now incase it's a sign of some other problem even though all my tests so far have come back ol.

OH is doing his sperm test today - wish him luck.

Sparkly08 · 05/08/2008 08:38

Sorry I've not been around much recently.

Beanie I had similar symptoms to you last month and suspected a CP. I'm sure everything is fine with you - esp because all of your tests have been fine. Have you thought about temping?

I just thought I'd let you all know that I got a BFP this morning. It's still early days so I'm trying not to get my hopes up just yet.

beanieb · 05/08/2008 08:47

Oh congratulations Sparkly Sending you good wishes for a sticker

I did try temping but I was never that consistent at taking my temperature.

Sparkly08 · 05/08/2008 08:55

Beanie It's worth doing to be sure of ov and your LP. I set my phone alarm to do it at 7am every day. I hope there's someone waving a wand over Cardiff and sending you a BFP v soon.

QueenyEisGotTheBall · 05/08/2008 09:48

congratulations sparkly (i know i said it on the other one but another cant hurt)
beanie good luck to your OH maybe speak to your GP about your AFs if you are worried. it cant hurt to have a professional opinion
hi to everyone else

beanieb · 05/08/2008 16:50

OH has done his test, now a weeks wait. he said there was a wikipedia printout about Katherine Jenkins in the booth , left there by the previous person !!

SuziBhoy · 06/08/2008 11:55

well everyone looks like i wont be TTC for a while yet

have been going for my follow up app at the hospital, and they havent been happy with the drop in my HCg since the MC, so they suspected an ectopic preg, and they done a scan and there it was.

Had to have the methotrexate, so apparantly me n my DP cant TTC until this is completely out my system. So frustrating.

Good luck to all of you and i hope to be hearing nice positive stories

x

scully · 06/08/2008 12:32

How disappointing for you Suzi Didn't they continue testing until your hcg levels reduced to 0 or very close to it?
1 or 2 blood tests a week would have shown that your levels weren't reducing as they should have. Doctors here also thought my 2nd m/c might have been ectopic, it wasn't thankfully, but my hcg levels took weeks to reduce back to normal.
Have they given you an idea of how long it takes for the methotrexate to be out of your system?
Can't remember if you were considering acupuncture, but now might be a good time to start, whilst you are waiting? Sounds your body will need a bit of tlc.
Excuse my ignorance Beanie, but who is Katherine Jenkins?

SuziBhoy · 06/08/2008 13:04

scully - well after the MC my hcg was 24, but then the week after it had went up to 74 then a few days after that went up to 90. They decided to wait another week as they couldnt see anything in the scan, but when they tested again it had only fallen to 89, so they done a scan and saw the EP. What a nightmare.

they say the metho-whats-it leaves my system in about 2 weeks, but they still need to keep testing until my hcg returns to 0, and im not allowed to concieve for 3 months after this aswell.

Yeah I will deffo be trying acupuncture now. Im just glad i can put an end to all of this.

Thanks and I will keep you all posted when I have luck TTC

x

beanieb · 06/08/2008 13:12

Suzi - so sorry to hear this

Scully - Katherine jenkins is the blonde welsh Opera singer.

QueenyEisGotTheBall · 06/08/2008 16:12

suzibhoy so sorry to hear about your EP a girl from another thread i post on had an EP in april and has started TTC again now. i think there is a support thread for those who have had an EP in the miscarriage section if you feel the need for more support from those who know what you are going through.

I think I have updated this ok?

How's everyone? It's very quiet in here. Have just finished my period and had to pee on the first clearblue monitor stick today for this cycle. Am wondering if I will ovulate early this month like last.

Have bought some pre-seed as I am just about prepared to try everything this month. I just want to get pregnant now but of course we have to wait to see what the sperm test is like. Am also wondering how long my cycle will be this month, am going away at the end of Sept and depending on whether my cycle is weird again I may well have my period while we are away which is a pain!

Jael · 07/08/2008 12:18

Can I join please, I'm CD12, ff says I'm ovulating atm, I'm kinda new to all this. I have 1 dd aged 2 1/2 fell pregnant straight away with her so didn't really have to ttc. Had my coil out on July 10th, so this is our first month ttc. I've got really bad crampy pains atm, not sure whether that's cuz I am ovulating, I'm quite confused. Hoping for a BFP soon, as I'm not very patient and would love a summer baby lol Jael xx

DawnAS · 07/08/2008 15:58

Hey Suzi,

I'm a bit worried about your post and may have missed something....

I had an MC at the weekend and the Doc at the hospital tested and my HCG had dropped from 249 on the Thursday to 95 on the Saturday and I'd started getting really bad cramps and bleeding. I was only 5 wks PG so very early so they said that they didn't expect there to be much bleeding.

But they said that they didn't need to do any more tests or anything as it was fairly clear what was happening.

Have you had an EP before which is why they did more tests afterwards. How do I know that I haven't got an EP? I did a PG test yesterday and not even a faint line. Surely they would have asked me to have more tests if they thought I might have an EP?

What do you think?

Sparkly08 · 07/08/2008 16:50

Have just found this free pregnancy test offer from mumsnet. Anyone interested?

SuziBhoy · 07/08/2008 18:51

Dawn

hey so sorry to hear bout ur MC... im concerned why they havent done more tests???

This was my first ever time falling pregnant, and when i started bleeding at 10 weeks they took my hcg which was at 24. they said it was deffo a MC. I was referred to the epu where they done a scan to check everything was clear, which it was. They then said they wanted to keep checking that my hcg was falling, but it was rising.... indicating the ectopic preg. more tests and weeks l8r they decided to give me a scan an there it was.. ectopic preg!! I have been treated but they are still testing my hcg every week to make sure it falls below 5.

If you have a hcg above 5 then this indicates a pregnancy of some sort, so this is why they are still testing me, and will keep testing until they can say im no longer pregnant.

If i was you i would want my bloods tested to make sure everything has gone! Im not trying to scare you, and everything can be treated, but i hope this has helped you.

xx

SuziBhoy · 07/08/2008 19:02

Dawn

if you want to keep talking about this with me then ive started a post about ectopic preg!!

I just dont want to take over this thread with chat about this, sorry all lol!!

xxx

DawnAS · 07/08/2008 19:04

I wonder if it was because I was barely 5 weeks PG? I did call the Dr and double-check and she said that because it was so early and because of where I had all the cramping, that it wouldn't be ectopic...

So hopefully that has cleared it all up - I hope so anyway!!
