Hello ladies, well I tested yesterday couldn't wait to see if af would arrive today and guess what i've got a BFP!!!!!!!!!!! I had to have a hCG injection as part of the IUI treatment so i called the hospital today to check that the bfp was really only the injection still in my system but the nurse said it only lasts up to 9 days and i had the injection 15 days ago

I have been trying for 4 years and i really can't believe the treatment worked i know i will still be buying more tests until i can get to have a scan but i'm walking on air DH is also really pleased and relieved its finallly worked. Im sending baby dust to you all

Moonlit · 31/07/2008 22:26

Hi Mrsfossil - Congratulations!!!!!!

I was wondering, did you have clomid as part of your IUI treatment? I am considering Clomid and IUI at the moment as I have PCOS. So I would really appreciate any advice you have to offer.

Good luck!

QueenyEisGotTheBall · 31/07/2008 22:53

daisyj · 01/08/2008 08:48

mrsfossil - wonderful news! HUGE congratulations.

ei - well done on the new job. How exciting!

blackrock - take care, and have a nice relaxing summer if you do decide not to visit again before autumn. Sometimes it's good to just take a break and take the pressure off a bit. Sorry you're feeling , though. x

Have a lovely weekend, ladies.

beanieb · 01/08/2008 08:52

Blackrock - hope you are ok, I know just how you feel. Hope you can chill and feel better soon.

MrsFossil - Congratulations

Am CD26 today and a small amount of pinkish discharge which I have noted as spotting on fertilityfriend so am expecting my period any time now. Though perhaps I had lengthened my cycle but if I get my period then it's back to 24/25 days for me - never mind. OH has sperm tests on Tuesday.

mrsfossil · 01/08/2008 18:59

hello everyone, moonlit - i was given 100mg of clomid for 4 days then around day 11 had to start testing wee with ovulation sticks then a few days later i had to have a scan to check my ovarys which is when the doc said i have mild pcos. i have had a scan and a laporoscopy a couple of years ago on nhs but this wasn't picked up because its mild. The traetment i have just had i have had to have private as i already have a 6 year old.

louisfeelingblue · 01/08/2008 23:32

Hi all

Im kinda new to this but so many of your posts have helped me through my recent MC.

I am waiting for my next cycle to start TTC. TBH im wanting to start straight away but apparantly its better to wait, not sure.

So if you all dont mind i think i will join ur thread

much love

beanieb · 02/08/2008 17:22

Dawn - so sorry to hear your news. I had read your other post on other threads and was hoping the best for you

Welcome SuziBhoy - good luck. What part of your cycle are you on now?

I've just been reading 'taking charge of your fertility' and am still confused about my Luteal phase. She says that it stays the same but the last 5 months mine has been 11 days, 10 days, 9 days and then 14 days in June (period almost a week late) and then 15 days this last cycle (I ovulated a lot earlier (5 days) than usual according to my fertility monitor).

I have been upping my Vitamin B6 and complex, would this change your luteal phase or just make me ovulate earlier?

beanieb · 02/08/2008 17:27

sorry me again

the internet tells me the luteal phase "usually lasts about 14 days and does not vary by more than a day in each person"

So if this is true how come mine is so variable?

QueenyEisGotTheBall · 02/08/2008 18:49

hi ladies
dawn so sorry to hear your sad news {{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
suzibhoy welcome sorry to hear of your recent MC good luck with starting TTC again
beanie sorry AF got you in respect to LP it should stay pretty much the same every cycle but if you have a short LP it can vary. vit b6 lengthens your LP so if you are taking that and your LP has changed dramatically it could well be the b6 that is causing the change. have you got any other health problems like thyroid dysfunction etc? this can cause short LP, anovulatory cycles and implantation problems. do you check your temp each day? this can rule out the anovulatory part or show it clearly, and also it can indicate a thyroid problem by showing an abnormally low temp (as mine did and i have an underactive thyroid) and it is also good news that your LP has lengthened as it gives your egg longer time to reach the womb and implant i hope this means a speedy BFP for you soon
hope everyone else is ok

Sorry to hear your news Dawn
Hi Suzibhoy, good luck with waiting before ttc again, it's difficult sometimes isn't it, you just want to get on with things again.
Tired now, have had a morning of cleaning and weeding and picking up dog poo and right now I'm trying to ignore the dd's shouting

SuziBhoy · 04/08/2008 09:45

Thanks everyone!

beanieb - well im actually so irregular its hard to tell where i am iykwim. Ive been told that the MC should kickstart everything, so hoping for things to be more regular, so just patiently waiting lol. I think i will be investing in books like yourself

scully - oh it is so difficult. i will prob be waiting for 6 weeks, i will just need to come on here and write my worries away lol.

I will need to read back some more so i can get to know everyone a little better.

x

scully · 04/08/2008 09:51

SuziB I had my 2nd m/c in April and July has been the first month we could ttc again, following a saga of things, one after the other. Frustrating, but at least my body has had a chance to recover and I've been having acupuncture the whole time, which I think is really helping. Hopefully your 6wks won't drag

SuziBhoy · 04/08/2008 09:58

scully - wow that must have been really frustrating with all the waiting, well done u

Ive actually been looking into acupuncture, tryin to find somewhere thats local to me, and check out prices and stuff, but it deffo sounds like something i would benefit from. How often do they recommend going back for acupuncture?

x

scully · 04/08/2008 10:34

I've been going weekly, I live in Brisbane though so can't recommend anyone local in the UK I looked up the website for the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association and found someone local to me who specialises in fertility issues. I've found it helpful in regulating my cycle, have never had a 28 day cycle in my life and the last two have been 28 days, and my cycles became regular a lot sooner after the 2nd m/c, than after the first when I wasn't having any treatment.
Good luck

nervousal · 04/08/2008 10:43

HI again folks. OK time to bite the bullet and officially TTC. I've had 2 mcs over the last year and am TTC DC#2 (have dd aged 4and half).

Think today is CD12. New to all this - so am I right in thinking that most fertile time is round about now? Did the deed 4 times over weekend (DP thinks its his birthday, haven't been having much sex since last mc!)

fingers crossedxx

beanieb · 04/08/2008 10:49

Hello Nervousal

Had a shocking amount of blood clots yesterday! One was the size of a large piece of liver, I kid you not! Looked it up and apparently it's normal it just means my period is heavy! I was so shocked though.

SuziBhoy · 04/08/2008 11:32

beanieb - it is well shocking when that happens, but i found hot water bottles helped with that (less clots, less pain, but still heavy bleeding, sorry if TMI). Theres medication you can take if it gets seriously out of order lol.

QueenyEisGotTheBall · 04/08/2008 13:13

hi ladies
nervousal welcome sorry about your MCsgood luck with TTC in response to your question many women ovulate around the 14th day in their cycle. it does vary though and it all depends on how long your cycle is and if you have any other problems etc. (if you have no other health problems ie thyroid problems and your cycle is regular 28 days it is safe to assume that you ovulate around 12-14 days into your cycle) do you use any ovulation predictor tools (temping, OPKs?) i temp as do alot of the girls on here and it has given me a better view of my cycles.
beanie i think small clots like pea sized or smaller is considered normal but if you are passing large liver textured clots i would maybe get an appointment to see your GP. especially as your AF was rather late this cycle. it sounds as if it may be a CP and it would be best to get that information on record with your doctor. i hope you feel better soon
hi to everyone else
