OOO - good luck Pop.

Star - time to get busy then! We were doing really well this cycle managed cd11,13,15,16,18,19,20,21,22. Nothing since then and I am CD26. Thought I ov'd on CD21 as ewcm stopped but then I got little bits on CD23 and 24 so not sure at all now. Typical, all year when I'm not trying my CM has been textbook but this month it seems to be all over the place!

tinkhasabean · 24/06/2008 13:09

thats great pop

Heebeejeebee · 24/06/2008 13:36

Hi all

Good luck Pop - hope the scan goes well!

I'm currently on CD 18 having got peak on my monitor on 14, so am trying not to drive myself insane by symptom spotting (or worring at the fact I haven't got any!). When I got my bfp I was actually waiting for AF to arrive to book my hsg, so I was so busy concentrating on that, I forgot to look for any symptoms!

Ah well, che sera sera

auntyspan · 24/06/2008 13:52

Hello ladies - what on earth is GOFFing? I'm clearly being really dim - does it mean shagging?!?!

And what does OPK mean?

Have decided that I'm going to test on Friday morning, which is VERY early (4 days before AF is due) but I really can't wait much longer! We're away at the in-laws at the weekend so no chance to do it then and if I wait until Monday I will BUST.

My boobs are still feel really 'hot' and DH said they were looking bigger last night, but again i / he might be imagining things....

auntyspan · 24/06/2008 13:53

And yes POP good luck for this pm - when I'm pg I'm going to push for an early scan as I had a mc when DD was 6 months old and the midwife said I should request one... is this something that's done routinely?

Playingthewaitinggame · 24/06/2008 13:55

So you are at the beginning of your 2ww as well Heebee. It will be nice to have someone to wait with! Although technically I am due CD35-38 (not quite sure when/if I ov'd this month) I am not testing till CD40. I figure if I I'm not pg AF will have arrived so will not need to test and if I am pg then I should be more likely to get a proper BFP and not spend a small fortune on tests! Oh and I have no tests in the house so I am hoping that will strengthen my resolve

Playingthewaitinggame · 24/06/2008 13:59

Hi Aunty -yep. GOF = Good ol' F**k. We don't baby dance ont hsi thread

OPK's are ovulation predictor Kits. The show a positive result when they detect a rise in LH (hormone which precedes ovulation). So when you get a positive you should generally ovulate within a couple of days. Only downside is that they are not so good with irregular cycles like mine and you can have a rise in LH without ovulating. Still many people swear by them.

My boobs are also a bit tender and feel larger but I am sure I am making that up as I can only be at most 3-5 dpo, far too early for symptoms!

monkeybumsmum · 24/06/2008 14:01

Hello! Haven't had chance to post since last week as have had PIL's staying. Thanks for all the lovely welcomes though Have been trying to catch up with this thread, but my god it moves fast... How do you all keep up?

Congratulations to all of you who are pg, this certainly does seem to be a lucky thread, let's hope it's catching!

Sorky sorry to hear that you're feeling so sick. Poor, poor you. It's just so horrible isn't it. Hope it eases soon.

I actually have a question for Teuch if you're lurking? I know we haven't 'met' but I've seen your name on quite a few threads, and you always seem to know what you're talking about. I wondered if you might be able to shed any light on the mess that is my cycle this month? I had a mc 7 weeks ago, had AF 6 June, but then EWCM 9 days later. Normally only have that when I'm ov'ing, so presumed it must've been early, but then have had more since, and am still getting it. Am very confused. Would love to think I could be pg, as GOF'd on CD 10, 12 +16, but am unsure now whether I did OV. Is it normal to have EWCM so much? Will have had it on and off for 9 days now, which is not normal for me. Usually last three/four days. If anyone else has any idea's too then it would be most appreciated! Feel like I'm going crazy not knowing what's going on...

Good luck pregnantpopcornprincess hope the scan goes well. Will have my fingers crossed.

Playingthewaitinggame · 24/06/2008 14:03

Oh and I am very hot, have been all weekend but I think that probably because I've been ill . Still if we are sympton spotting I will add it to the list. Also I have been to the loo 5 times today whereas I would normally have only been 2-3 times. That is obviously nothing to do with the fact I have been drinking lots of water today to try and get rid of my headache

Playingthewaitinggame · 24/06/2008 14:12

Hi Monkey. I am not an expert but from personal experience I know that I can get several lots of EWCM and I'm sure if I was using OPK's it would show several rises in LH.

What happens with me is that my body tries to ovulate but can't (often due to stress/illness around ov time) I of course assume I have ov'd but then a few days/week later I get more EWCM as my body tries again and then exactly 13 days later I get my period, so it does seem to show that I just ov'd later. Maybe this is whats happening to you?

Mind you my CM seems to have been all over the place this month. I started getting very wet on CD13 which contiuned until I first saw EWCM on CD18 & 19, it then increased so I got loads and loads of it on CD20 & 21. I then seemed to dry up almost completely on CD22 but then got a little bit of EWCM on CD23 and CD24. Very odd, but then I was ill over the weekend so it probably messed things up.

monkeybumsmum · 24/06/2008 14:35

Hi Playing, thanks for the advice. No wonder it's so difficult trying to get up the duff if we can't tell what's going on with our bodies! It's v interesting hearing what happens with you, and it would make sense that the same sort of thing has happened with me this month.

I feel a bit tricked by what's been going on - thinking that I'd ov'd, but even now not being sure I have. Am also feeling a bit sick, so am swinging from being convinced I'm pg, to thinking that it's because I'm about to OV. Argh!!!!

Playingthewaitinggame · 24/06/2008 14:45

Thats why I love MN Monkey - where else you you share your CM information and GOFing habits?

It is typical that your body goes mad when you need it not too! Depsite soemtimes getting 2 lots of EWCM I normally get a few days of very wet CM than 2 days of EWCM, this month like you its seemed almost constant over 12 days. Who knows whats going on! Nothing for it but to wait though.

I am trying to convice myself that it really doesn't matter in the scheme of things if I ov'd on CD21 or CD25. I'm not testing till CD40 regardless and either AF will have got me by then or the test should hopefully be just confirming pg. Thats the theory anyhow

I am trying very hard not to get too hung up on this ttc business. I don't temp or use opk's and my prefered option is simply lots of sex! I have got myself covered for ov between CD12-24, if its later than that well I was too ill to GOF so thats just sods law. There's always next month and if I'm honest I didn't expect to catch first time!

monkeybumsmum · 24/06/2008 14:53

Yes, it's great isn't it Playing. Mind you, after being so uninhibited on MN, I feel tempted to start sharing that kind of info with people from RL

I like your approach to getting pg, and I hope it works. Would be great to only have to go through one month of this!

When's CD40 for you? I think I'm going to test next week - have got some cheapy strip things, so may as well. I am admiring your strong mindedness. Do you think you'll crack?

Playingthewaitinggame · 24/06/2008 15:17

I do know what you mean about being tempted to share in RL. 4 of my closest firend (2 sets of couples) know I am ttc. I know they will keep it to themselves, would tell them if I mc and find it helps to share just a bit and tbh they will be trying themselves next year so they are quite interested in the whole process. I have not told anyone else though and will not until I get a BFP and I'm not sure who I will tell then, don't want the whole world knowing but certainyl will not keep quiet till 12 weeks!

Well, my approach is all well adn good for now but fast forward 6 months if I'm not pg I may have to re-think. The thing is I don't want it to become a chore and I know stress doesn't help when ttc, so if I can keep it as low key as possible it should aid my attempts.

CD40 is in 14 days for me. If I'm not pg I should get AF a few days before hand ( 9-12 days time) so i should have a fairly good idea by then. I am also not keeping tests in the house which helps! I hope I hold out, i really can't justify spending a fortune and stressign otu abotu it each month. Testing early is not going to make me any more pg!

CoteDAzur · 24/06/2008 15:25

Hi everyone. I'm a TTC newbie. DD was conceived on day 11 of a 30+ day cycle by accident, so have no experience of TTC.

Terribly broody, dreaming myself pregnant, and dying to TTC but have to wait until after my next smear test in a few weeks.

Teuch · 24/06/2008 15:35

hullo ladies - you had fallen off my threads!!

I am certainly no expert mbm but I would say Playing is probably right, in that maybe your body is just trying to kick-start after the pg hormone fluctuations and has attempted ov more than once. Other possibility is, of course, that it is not ewcm but semen...it is sometimes tricky to tell the difference!

I used OPK's for a couple of months just to see if my symptom-spotting was accurate, and it did give me a good idea of cycle. Though, I should point out, that I didn't use them the month I actually concieved...

Teuch · 24/06/2008 15:38

Welcome Cote Hope you have a short stay here! The only rules are that there ain't no rules, and nothing is TMI!

Diege - aaahhh, the gnawing your own fingers to the knuckles with worry As you say, goes with the territory. Hang in there! I'm intrigued with your research - sounds great!

Sorky - poor you I've been seriously nauseous but no sickness yet... I would almost rather be sick than feel like this constantly!

High five everyone else!!

Playingthewaitinggame · 24/06/2008 16:05

Hi and welcome Cote. You're in the right place for waiting. This thread started off in Jan as a waiting ttc thread and I managed to wait for 6 whole months till I caved in so I'm sure you'll get to through a few weeks . Now most of the original members are pg with some still trying and of course we've picked up a few more people on the way. Oh and this thread (along with all the ttc threads) are a great source of information. I am in my first cycle of trying for dc1 but having spent 6 months hanging around here I have absorbed so much information!

Hi Teuch - sorry you're not feeling so good. How many weeks are you now?

lardybump · 24/06/2008 16:31

Evening ladies hope you are all well.

Diege I am getting worried as well. I have no symptoms at all, except the appitite of a hippo. No sore boobs, no matalic taste nothing. Docter wont see me till 7 weeks so I have to wait.... Really worried now though as I am sure I felt something at this stage last time.........

lardybump · 24/06/2008 16:35

Appetite sorry typing to fast...

pregnantpopcornprincess · 24/06/2008 16:38

pregnantpopcornprincess · 24/06/2008 16:45

lardybump · 24/06/2008 16:48
