Hi all - where is everyone these days? It has been really quiet.

Sorry to hear ms has hit Sorky - hope you're alright.

LB you're three days ahead of me, I'm week 5 on Thursday!

I rang GP today to find out what to do, and they asked me to bring sample in for them to do a pg test. I didn't have this last time, so now I've got to wait until Thursday morning for the official result.

Who is testing when? Come on BFP's!! Good luck to those who are testing

Sorky - when you're feeling better I hope you're going to talk natural birthing with me!

Diege · 23/06/2008 21:33

Hello! Gosh it is quiet on here today! Oh no Sorky, and you thought it might come by now . Well, you will most probably strangle me but I am actually getting a bit concerned that I'm not getting sickness yet. Mad I know, but I had it so badly with dds and stupidly googled not feeling sick after v.sick pregnancies and it said that this could indicate 'some concerns' . I know I am only 6 weeks, but am just fearing the worst now. There again, there's not much I can do about it either way...arghh, just tell me to shut up, I know I'm being really stupid but I've been worrying about it and feeling really down all day . Have v.sore boobs and overwhelming tiredness, lots of metallic saliva and the scent of a bloodhound but NO NAUSEA!!!!.
Sorry for the me-post but I feel I can let it all out on the wagon!

happynappies · 23/06/2008 21:38

Diege - try not to worry. I can't remember at what point I started to feel awful last time, and am wondering what will happen when too - but don't be googling about 'some concerns'. Could it be that your body is more used to the pg hormone now? Could it be that in a few days you'll be horrible (I hope not - but if it would reassure you... maybe just a little bit?...)

My motto this time is to go with the flow, and accept things as they are today rather than worry about what might be tomorrow... Remind me of this in a week or two when I'm stressing about the next thing!!!

Diege · 23/06/2008 21:43

Thanks Happy , you are right, best to focus on the present. Very wise words there! Think I'll post a thread just to put a lid on my obsessive paranoia and then move on! (to the next worry..)Can't believe you are 5 weeks already, wow!

happynappies · 23/06/2008 21:48

sorry - feeling horrible, not horrible!!! just read my post and it makes no sense!!!

Diege · 23/06/2008 21:55

Made perfect sense to me! - must be pregnancy-speak . I did have a dry wretch over the first aid box this morning, so you never know

Diege · 23/06/2008 21:55

It's 'retch' isn't it?

happynappies · 23/06/2008 21:57

I was bringing in a basket of washing from the line last night, then got caught up watering some plants, then before I knew it I'd locked up. DH opened the curtains this morning and saw a basket of clean washing sitting outside in the garden!!! I might not have morning sickness, but pg brain has well and truly kicked in!!

Diege · 23/06/2008 22:06

I envy you the dry weather! If it were my basket the contents would have been totally waterlogged!
Oh and did I tell anyone that I will be seeing 30plus separate midwives during my pregnancy???? Each for 40 minutes each???
No, I'm not very paranoid and very rich but I got the final ethical clearnace last week to go ahead with my research into midwives perceptions of risk in pregnancy, and will be selecting my target population tomorrow with the help of my 'gatekeeper' the head of antenatal screening in the NHS Trust I'm researching. Really excited, though a little concerned about being a pregnant researcher (already a highly anxious one!). Will try and get the interviews done before I start showing, as have a feeling they might alter their responses if they know I'm pregnant!
Right, off to bed I think, dreaming of sickness...[sorry Sorky ]

tinkhasabean · 24/06/2008 08:21

Playingthewaitinggame · 24/06/2008 09:49

Morning everyone. Don't think I have ever seem the wagon so quiet, how dare everyone go on holiday and leave us all .

Sorky - sorry about the sickness. Hope it doesnt last that long

Deige - Stop worrying about your lack of sickness and make the most of it . I'm sure everythign is fine, particularly as you have other symptoms.

Wasn't at work yesterday, been feeling pretty crap all weekend, thought I was going to be really ill but seem to be a lot better already . Very odd, very sore hard glands in my stomach, headache, really tired, temperature, generally achy, felt awful but apart from the lingering headache I seem a lot better today. Very weird . Think it might have messed up my chance of conceiving this month too as we haven't GOF'd since Friday night and getting ill over ov time may mean I haven't actually ov'd at all. Oh well, not much I can do about it now apart from wait and see.

Officially on the 2ww now, CD26 today and planning to test on CD40 if AF doesnt arrive.

Hows everyone else?

glaskham · 24/06/2008 10:06

oh gosh.... i' ve been away so long this thread wasn't on my 'threads i'm on list'.... anyway, i dont think i have much catching up to do as i'm sure it was only page 36 when i was last on!!

I'm day 7 of cycle i think, have just finished period and got some wierd lookign CM atm. will start OPKing in a couple of days. will be monitoring CM too.

I had a fairly good weekend, on friday i went to my mummy & toddler keep fit. Saturday me, the kids and my sister intended to have a wander round a carboot, but just as we got there is started pouring so we went to my mums to see my other sister. we then went to collect the kids portraits which look pretty amazing considering!!

On sunday we'd planned to go to denis's parents fun day at their pub, but it was too windy for the bouncy castle and other things they had planned, so we took the kids to Camelot theme park, was lots of fun, my sister had stayed over so we took her too, on the way home we popped by the in-laws pub for some tea which we got free!! then came home and DH had footy.

Yesterday I made a rabbit hutch out of an old sideboard thing we had in the shed, and we went and bought a baby lionhead rabbit, he's stunning. The kids called him Igglepiggle!! oh dear!! I'm so proud of the hutch i made!! and the kids just love visiting him!!

The pet shop we got him from also had kittens, DH's face was a picture, he wanted one!! I did too, but we have 3 cats already... and i want another child before we get anymore pets for in the house!!!

Diege · 24/06/2008 10:14

Morning . Wow your weekend sopunds busy Glaskham! Love the sound of your lionhead rabbit, sounds cute
Playing, sounds a nasty spot of sickness there - you may have been lucky with your goffing timing - I conceived 2/3 days after 'official' ovulation, so don't give up on this month yet! Thanks for your reassurances re my lack of sickness. I'm sure you're right, but as Tinks says worry for me at least is part of the territory!
Tinks, I had exactly the same 2 days difference at my dating scan with dd1 - they put me at due date 2 days later throuhg (ie, 2 days behind my dates). I think it's all pretty academic anyway (I was 5 days early)but went with their date as the differenec was so minor.
Right, off to see the midwife woman about the research - very bizaare! Think I may make up a scenario about my pregnant friend who's worried about lack of sickness......2nd thoughts, may be a bit unprofessional. Oh tell me to shut up someone!!

Playingthewaitinggame · 24/06/2008 10:24

Hi Glask - sounds like you had a great weekend.

Deige, I think you're perfectly normal to be worrying. We all spend far too much time on MN not to realise MC/problems are common. However, no sickness really isn't a sign things are going wrong. I would be worried about no symptoms but as long as you have sympotns there's always time for the sickness to arrive or maybe you'll be lucky this time!

glaskham · 24/06/2008 10:28

Diege dont worry toomuch... with ds i was so sick i was hospitalised with hyperemesis, and was still being sick even a couple of days after he was born with it!! it didn't stop!! from 4 weeks pg i was sick at least 3x a day!! BUT with dd i was only sick once, at 4 wks (the morning i thought i could be pg) but then was never sick again!!

lastboxoftampons · 24/06/2008 10:35

So sorry you're feeling crap Sorky and that you're worrying so much Diege - wish I could say something to make you stop, but I know what it's like - I worry about everything all the time! So when I was pregnant, I was a mess!

Kooky when you do start temping, come join us on the Hoo-Har thread!

tinkhasabean · 24/06/2008 11:38

i will stick with my date the diege
good luck playing

wow glaskham you have been a very busy bee lionhead rabbits are gorgeous cute name

pregnantpopcornprincess · 24/06/2008 11:42

tink - sorry to butt in, how did you get an early scan? I'm worried as I had a missed m/c last time and was wondering if an early scan (8 weeks) will put my mind at rest.

Playingthewaitinggame · 24/06/2008 11:47

Hi Tink,

I am busy trying to convince myself I am not "bovered". I know that I might have caught but also know that I might have missed out due to lack of GOFing over weekend. Plus as this is only cycle no 1 realistically its not that likely to happen first time and I'm not really sure I expect it to; still there's always that little bit of hope. Going to try very hard not to think about it too much. Will soon find out if I am pg, over analysing and stressing will not help. Would be nice to fast forward the next 2 weeks though

lastboxoftampons · 24/06/2008 11:47

PregnantPopcornPrincess - after my mmc, the EPU told me that they'd scan me early (one doc said as early as 4 weeks, but I think that's pointless the other said around 6-7 weeks) all I had to do was go in and say I had had a mc.

Playingthewaitinggame · 24/06/2008 11:49

Hi pop, are you really 8 weeks already?

tinkhasabean · 24/06/2008 11:52

hi pop
i had an early scan as my lmp was march 22nd had long cycles they were going with due date 27th of dec

Starshinetiger · 24/06/2008 12:11

Mornin' ladies (or is it afternoon already). Day of working from home today as I had to take DS to homeopath. He has just had total meltdown before going to childminder for the afternoon. It still upsets me, even though I know it's crocodile tears - they stop so suddenly when distracted
Diege - sorry you're worried. I know so many people who tried to predict whether I was having a boy or girl from my sickness last time, just based on their experiences of MS - they're all different. If it helps, with DS, I didn't test BFP until I was already 5 weeks and sickness didn't kick in for at least another 2 weeks, but I did have all the symptoms you're talking about. I reckon it's all fine and you're just experiencing a different pregnancy - I know that won't stop you worrying, but if you're like me, nothing will. Fingers crossed all is fine and you're just enjoying a relatively sickness free pg.
Congrats to all you ladies with pg progessing.
Playing, fingers crossed for you this month. We're building up to OV probably this weekend, so GOFing at least every other day - problem is, DH isn't feeling too well, but so far I've managed to win him round to GOFing!
Right, on with work. Have a good afternoon all.

pregnantpopcornprincess · 24/06/2008 12:33

Yes - does'nt time fly! I've just called my EPU and they have said that they will see me this afternoon. Please keep your fingers crossed for me

lastboxoftampons · 24/06/2008 12:55

Lots of best wishes, Popcorn. Fingers crossed!
