@Doodlestar I did! A big fat positive!
thank you for sharing your story, it makes me feel less anxious hearing a similar experience! Thank you so so much!

Congratulations @StayingHopefulx! I found out I was pregnant with DS the Monday after a family wedding weekend where a lot of prosecco was consumed πŸ₯΄ I felt terribly guilty but no issues in the pregnancy. I think it's too early for anything to transfer as the placenta is still forming? Wishing you all the best for a healthy pregnancy! x

Limmers14 · 10/11/2025 07:57

@StayingHopefulx congratulations to you too!! I don’t think you need to worry about drinking at the weekend. It’s too early for it to have an effect, you and your little bean will be fine

Taysonic · 10/11/2025 08:55

Woop woop @StayingHopefulx !@StayingHopefulx !! Congratulations lovely. So so thrilled for your good news and like everyone else has said, I really wouldn't worry about it.

Im 6dpo today. The chances of being pregnant this cycle are slim to none but still finding myself getting my hopes up. What an idiot. Hoping to hit it hard next month and perhaps have something extra special to celebrate over Christmas.

LuckyDuck93 · 10/11/2025 09:32

@StayingHopefulx wonderful news!! Congratulations!

I'm 3/4dpo today (app says 3, based on ovulation pain I think 4) think we've given ourselves as good a chance as we can this month, but trying not to get my hopes up for our 17th cycle, so draining isnt it

ttcnumerodos · 10/11/2025 11:27

2 dpo for me, although I missed my peak. We managed to dtd on Saturday which I think was ovulation day. Extremely tricky at the moment as we're staying with my parents following our house fire - all in the same room πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ. Trying not to get my hopes up either @Taysonicbut it's soo difficult. Hopefully a busy week ahead will distract me - insurance assessor visit tomorrow and a meeting at school for DS's class. Life is really 'life-ing' at the moment πŸ₯΄

Ahh congratulations! That's lovely. Hope all continues to go well for you.

Im 9dpo today, I think we managed to time dtd pretty well this cycle. I'll try so hard to wait until fri/sat to test. I think my period is due Saturday.

overwork · 10/11/2025 12:17

Oh some brilliant news on here! Particularly loving @StayingHopefulxstory - I would put a bet on you not having caused any harm with one night out - all will be fine.
I was hoping for a little advice, my period came Friday which marks 6 months of trying. I’m over 35 so contacted the GP to see if I could have any tests done. Spectacularly unhelpful nurse called me back and said as I’m not eligible for IVF (which I knew), there is no testing that can be offered, and advised me to eat well and buy an ovulation testing kit. Anyone seen any guidance which suggests more should be offered? I’ve seen that over 35 and trying for 6 months+ I should contact a GP but nothing about what should be offered. Thankyou!

Limmers14 · 10/11/2025 12:46

@overwork do you mind me asking why you’re not eligible for NHS? I thought they would at least test your hormones and offer a semen analysis as that’s not really the IVF process. Might depend on how flexible your GP surgery is and how strained your local Trust is. Is going private for tests an option?

overwork · 10/11/2025 12:55

She just said I wouldn’t be eligible for IVF (as we have a toddler) there wasn’t any testing which could be offered. I don’t think that’s true but I didn’t have anything to hand that I could back it up with. I’d like to find some NICE guidance if I can. She said that I couldn’t get a scan for TTC but I know we get referrals for that all the time.
I have looked at private, it’s about Β£600 for full bloods, SA and an ultrasound. (I’m in SELondon if anyone has any recs!) but I’d find it so galling to pay - I am a gynae sonographer and I could get one done today with a referral (not quite dexterous enough to internally scan myself!)

ChaE05 · 10/11/2025 14:49

@overworkthat's so wrong, sorry you had an unhelpful phone call. I've had so many blood tests through GP, plus a pelvic ultrasound. Partner had semen tested and also got a HyCoSy. All through NHS. And all happened within about 3 months. I'm also over 35 and had been trying for over 6 months at the time x

Congrats to those with BFPs πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

LuckyDuck93 · 10/11/2025 15:29

@overwork Recommendations | Fertility problems: assessment and treatment | Guidance | NICE if you look at 1.2.13.7 it states "Offer an earlier referral for specialist consultation to discuss the options for attempting conception, further assessment and appropriate treatment where:

  • the woman is aged 36 years or over"

I would honestly get in touch with your practice manager and ask them to show you the guidance which states there are no tests that can be done, if they're refusing to investigate or refer you it's up to them to tell you why. Sorry she was so unhelpful ❀

Limmers14 · 10/11/2025 16:54

@overwork That doesn’t sound right, I agree with other posters to follow it up with the practice! Yeah we were given blood tests, SA and ultrasound on the NHS though granted it took 2-3 months for the results to come back so it depends how long you want to wait.

We were eligible for IVF through the NHS but the waiting list was too long so we went private (insured through work) with the Lister at The Portland. There are lots of thread on the infertility board if you need more recs.

overwork · 10/11/2025 18:01

Thankyou all! This is really helpful. I am a regular complainant to my GP surgery (I genuinely rarely complain but they have been hopeless in so many instances). I was just really hoping for one thing to be easy. I’ll get on it tomorrow and let you know the outcome.

StayingHopefulx · 11/11/2025 10:28

Thank you all so much!! Think I’m still abit shellshocked!! Really hoping you all get your BFPs soon 🀞🏻🀞🏻🀞🏻✨✨✨✨

Hi everyone! Feel like the tww from period to ovulation lasted foreverrrrr this time. So so ready to get through ovulation and on to the actual tww πŸ˜…

CD12 today. Due to ovulate tomorrow I think. I’m pretty regular like that, but I have been taking ovulation tests last month and this month to double check. I’ve had a β€œhigh” result this morning. I’ll do another this evening and again tomorrow, but all signs are pointing towards OD being tomorrow.

dtd last night (CD11, 2 days before OD). Will dtd again tonight and tomorrow hopefully!

honestly feel like it took so long to get from CD1- now 😩 just want to get through the fertile period and live in hope for a few days ❀️

underthethree · 12/11/2025 07:38

@StayingHopefulxcongrats!!!! ❀️❀️

overwork · 12/11/2025 14:56

I like the idea of living in hope for a few days @underthethree! I find the bit up to ovulation fine, it’s the afterwards that annoys me. According to Flo I have 2 opportunities to get pregnant before Xmas and nothing in my way either time except we will be very busy in the lead up to Xmas as it’s our birthdays as well.

7nationbaby · 12/11/2025 20:44

Hello all! πŸ‘‹ I’m back after mc in August, followed by a chemical in Sept and then a mysterious long cycle in October (which I blame on taking coq10) so hoping for a lucky cycle 8! Fingers crossed for lots of bfps and sticky beans for all ❀️

Hey girl, if you're getting high on O test, you're probably gonna Ovulate in the next 24 hours. It's time to get the freak on. :-p I'm on CD11 today and my O tests are still negative. But then I have been ovulating on cd 15-16 for the last 3 cycles. Best of luck. ❀️

Hi @Mash0917 ☺️ I got my β€œpeak” at around noon CD12. I may have even missed a higher peak (as the number this time wasn’t as high as last months, but the line was still as dark or darker than the control). I probably should have tested earlier in the day as well. But oh well. I tested again by 8pm CD12 and it had dropped significantly. I also had cramps during the day, but they had stopped by evening time. We dtd CD11 at night , and again CD12 around 9pm. I know I should have dtd morning/early afternoon today, CD13, but of course I’ve work etc. so that’s just not possible. CD12 9pm BD will have to do πŸ˜†πŸ€£ will probably dtd again tonight just to be safe.

Sounds like a good plan. Btw, which O test are you using?

underthethree · 13/11/2025 05:05

@Mash0917im using easy at home. It’s my second month using them. But my cycle seems very stable, 26 day cycle, ovulate cd13. Get physical symptoms that lets me know I’m about to ovulate. So I guess I’m very lucky that way. I decided to try o strips to just make sure what I was noticing was true ovulation, which it seems it is.

CoffeeIsMyLove · 13/11/2025 09:53

Hello everyone! I'm very late but better late than never πŸ˜†

Congratulations to the girls with their bfps, so happy for you! Everyone else waiting really hope this is your monthπŸ’›

Currently 7dpo and very confused so far, I had very light dull cramps for most of the afternoon then just before bed noticed a tiny red spot of blood on the first wipe then nothing after or since! This morning I've been quite gassy.. sorry.
I won't be testing until Monday at the soonest though, I've got this weird thing I prefer to do tests when dh is at work & I'm at no risk of being disturbed 🀣

Doodlestar · 13/11/2025 10:14

@CoffeeIsMyLove how mysterious - I don't have experience of implantation bleeding. I think 7 days is quite early for implantation but certainly not impossibly early?! Do let us know how you get on! 🀞

I'm the opposite re testing, I'm tempted to test today as its 12 dpo but am making myself wait because 1) I missed my chance first thing, and 2) I'd rather do it when DH is home and he will be wfh tomorrow.
