I’ve just been so stupid a scan came up for today 7.15 I booked it and then half an hour later thought well if it is bad news I’ll still have to go to my hospital appt on Thursday have another scan just to get bad news again so I phoned to cancel can’t get a refund so moved it to a couple of weeks. I feel like a total head case to be honest. Im going to get out the house tonight just try clear my head / distract and keep busy xxx

Hopeandfaith1990 · 09/06/2025 21:09

Oh @Gizmo1983im sorry it’s been such a tough day :( I think you did the right thing in moving the scan. You are going to the hospital so soon and honestly I think the private scan places are horrid.

I know exactly how you feel but there is some truth in that the symptoms do fluctuate, but I feel you and I’ve been there too. It’s excruciating that at this stage literally all you can do is wait.

holding your hand from afar as well. You’re right that keeping yourself as busy as possible until Thursday is the best thing you can do. Even if your symptoms don’t come back to the same level it doesn’t necessarily mean bad news. We’re all rooting for you. Lots of love. How are you now? Is your hubby being supportive? Xxxx

Gizmo1983 · 09/06/2025 22:13

@Hopeandfaith1990 thank you so so much for your lovely words. Yeah poor hubby has been great he just hates seeing me upset and stressed more than anything I think.
you are so right about the private scan places, we went driving in the rain tonight r it helped
I think the thing that has settled me as much as I can is what is going to happen will happen I’ve done everything I can and fate, biology and genetics has already sorted the rest also if I’m going to loose it then really the sooner the better. Sounds awful but it’s realistic.
thank you so so much for being there, you take care of yourself and rest up ❤️

Objectiontime · 09/06/2025 22:46

Thank you Gizmo1983.
Symptoms do come and go, I've heard that said so often. That said, I completely understand your worry. You have to do what's right for you and I know I would rather know as soon as possible if things were not as they should be. That said, I think I am more hopeful for you than you are yourself. I think when you are in our position you see the negatives in everything and there is no denying that we, on this thread, have our reasons for that! I could send you some positive vibes but I know they wont get through because you are struggling with the not knowing at the moment,.
I am sending you a huge virtual hug because you so much need and deserve one right now and will be with you in spirit again on Thursday xxx

Jecca88 · 10/06/2025 09:50

Thanks @Hopeandfaith1990 and @Gizmo1983 - i have booked my first pre-treatment appointment for tomorrow, i really like what you both say about the pressure off us and everything being done for us, think i need that. Then hoping we can just crack on on my next cycle in July. I think i will need to tell CRP, think i might need to have a break in treatment - as for egg collection i won't need all the drugs will I?

Good luck for your egg collection tomorrow @Hopeandfaith1990 - i have a good feeling for this. Are you going with the PGTA testing? or are you going to do a fresh transfer?

@Gizmo1983 I totally can feel all your anxieties, it's excruciating the waiting and not knowing, but you are so right - everything is already set in the stars and you are literally doing everything and more to keep this baby, so know you couldn't do anymore. If only we could have a tranquiliser and be put in coma for 12 weeks - or even the full 9 months. Try and keep yourself distracted, i like to do cooking/baking or a puzzle as i have full control over that. Or just a long walk :) one foot infront of the other.

@Jecca88 We are doing PGT-A so we are doing a freeze all (assuming we get something to freeze!!)

I carried on with the hydroxy the whole time, but not the Pred etc. I will resume the full immune protocol drugs around transfer time in 4-6 weeks I think.

Good luck for your appt and thank you for your well wishes re egg collection. I'm nervous but a little excited too.

I always wish I could be put in a coma and wake up when it was time to give birth 😂

Jecca88 · 10/06/2025 11:14

ahh amazing @Hopeandfaith1990 where are you doing the IVF if you don't mind me asking?

That's good about Hydroxy - i need to get some more from CRP, i only have two weeks left. Will you also have the intralipids ahead of the transfer?

Doing it at the ACU of St Helier! https://beginningsacu.co.uk/

So far the experience has been great, although admittedly I don't have much to compare it to. I really like how its done within a hospital so things like blood tests etc are done very easily onsite. I've read of non-hospital clinics struggling with the surgical procedures etc. I also like how everything is in one place? The other clinics in Surrey send you into London for the clinical stuff although their clinic is based in Surrey.

I've never had intralipids before so I don't think I'll do them to be honest - I went to recurrent MC yesterday and got a repeat prescription of the drugs - they mentioned IVF in October but I didn't say we'd already started. I don't know why, I was almost worried I was going to get in trouble lol.

Hi lovely ladies. Omg I swear I was on that table and the dr said I can see everything but a heartbeat . She was looking for ages and that bloody probe was everywhere she called hubby over and the dr hubby and the nurse were just looking then hubby said is that it there and she said ooooh yes there it is fantastic. By this point I was just lay on my back not even looking as I was sure it was over. I’m now in bed with another awful headache I think it was the suspense. I think the scan machine at the hospital must be pretty rubbish so good news is she’s scanning me again next week. Honestly that was way more dramatic than expected. Thank you so much for everything ladies. Can u believe this is only 8 weeks it feels like 8 bloody years xxx
how is everyone doing xxx

Oh that's great @Gizmo1983 that time in the scan must have felt like an eternity but I'm happy she persevered and found it - so pleased for you. And good that you can get another one next week, a shorter count down and hopefully it'll be clearer next time.

I'm okay thanks - got the news that of our 16 eggs, 7 were immature, 9 were mature and 7 have fertilised. I'm trying to feel positive about this but I think I'm so used to thinking the worst!! Need to reframe it and be positive. The embryologist was quite sure to make I understand that not all 7 would make it to Monday, but we won't hear from them until then so its just waiting until then and hoping they grow and keep going!

Gizmo1983 · 12/06/2025 12:59

@Hopeandfaith1990 hey sweet that is still really good numbers, and in there may just be that magical one because that is all that you need. I think you definitely feel a kind of slump at this point as you are now completely powerless and nothing is in your control. You’ve been injecting, scanning, monitoring etc etc and now it is just a waiting game.

i am like you I have taught myself to expect the worst and that’s the way I prefer to be it keeps my heart the safest I think.
move got everything crossed for those numbers on Monday, just remember you only need one xxx

So true, I'm just cautious because we're then sending off whatever we have for PGT-A so it could be even less then!! But yes I'm trying to stay hopeful thanks lovely xxx
