@slothbat im doing okay! How’re you? Feel like I’ve had a lovely relaxing weekend but can’t shift the ttc from my head, it’s a problem 😂.

I watched a Tik Tok and then saw the same thing written on this forum.. basically some fertility drs advise to have protected sex or have your partner “finish” another way 2/3 days before your expected peak and then to only have unprotected sex as close to your peak as possible to make sure the sperm that’s waiting is the healthiest it could be. Apparently if it’s older or been waiting a while it’s less likely to be successful but could still block healthier sperm from having its chance. It makes sense in a way, but I wonder how likely it is to work as all the other advice is to DTD as often as possible in the days leading up! What’s everyone else’s thoughts on this?! We’ve never waited until peak to test the theory

Not completely, I got my flashing smiley this morning CD12, so suspect I’ll get my first positive ovulation test tomorrow or Tuesday. Wondering if we should try cover 3 days from that first positive ovu test similar to how the sperm meets egg plan suggests but because there’s no exact science as to when you ovulate after the positive test I really don’t know 🤣 I’m abit of a control freak so I wish I knew down to the second.

Last month my BBT conflicted with my ovu tests a little, BBT said I ovulated 72hrs after my first positive test and 48hrs after peak.. whereas Premom says it’s 8-20hrs after peak and upto 48hrs from first test. Which is a reason I kinda wish I didn’t track BBT but it has helped me realise my luteal length and confirms ovulation soo 😅.

How about you? Do you have a plan?

@KT199 oh god yeah it's all so confusing! Nope no plan at all! Doing the OPK tests and just having as much sex as possible 😂😂😂 surely in this day and age we should be able to tell exactly when we ovulate and if the sperm has met the egg way before the TWW!!!! How are people having sex once and getting pregnant 😂😂😂😂😂

That "clearing out" concept really does make sense but god it's so much to take into consideration it's exhausting 😅 The idea there are potentially old sperm blocking the healthy sperm just makes me think what is the point in DTD every day surrounding 🤦🏻‍♀️ I hate that it's not an exact science 😳

I got an lh surge on Friday, hit peak yesterday evening and it's already started to decline but @KT199 I'm the same as you, I wish I knew the exact second the egg was released as there's such conflicting information.
And DTD has been so forced, all business zero romance 🤣

My TWW starts tomorrow, but I think I'll cope with it a bit better this time round as last month was my very first experience, I think I went a bit nuts. Now I know that if it's successful, it's not going to show up til at least 10dpo and knowing my body, I think I'd get quite strong early symptoms.
So until that happens, I'm not touching a pee stick! 😆

@littlebluu Hey!!! Oh god it does feel like a chore doesn't it has a different feel to it knowing that's why your DTD!! 😂😂

@littlebluu @slothbat so weird it being all business and the like expectation that we HAVE to have sex is so weird too 🤣 like I don’t even feel very well at the moment full of cold, so I’d defo pass in normal circumstances but just not really an option 🥲. I also had a deep thought the other day about how prior to TTC I never considered my life could change from having sex and how strange it all is that that could happen now 😂

YES! I said last month there absolutely should be a test to confirm conception so we can move on and don’t have a TWW for nothing 😂.

I reckon by Thur/Fri I’ll be in my TWW providing my cycle follows its usual pattern. Already want answers 🤣🤣🤣 the impatience in me is something else

Currently cd13 so fertility week starting in a couple of days for me !
@KT199 this is actually super interesting! However I was reading that the healthy sperm would in any event wait with the less healthy one in the alcoves of the uterus and then swim there fast as it's healthier so I think natural selection would occur .... but then who knows 😂

I can't believe I have to go through a full fertility week and then 2WW 😂 I don't have the energy !

Anyone scheduled to ovulate a little bit later ? (Cd 17/19 ?) or am I gonna be the last one in the 2WW this month 😂

I don’t have the energy for it either 😂. I really hope it doesn’t take us too long to concieve as I feel like my life is currently split into 2 week windows and all consumed 🤣

@Lila34830 Hey! I'm good thanks I'm using OPK tests and if I go by last month should ovulate in the next day or two - but who knows could be later! You won't be alone!! Xxx

Usually around 17-19, you'll likely not be alone 🤗

@slothbat aw fab! I'm currently cd 13 , ovulation predicted in 6 days but doing opks everyday to be sure ! I Cba tracking
My temp, I also read (as we said, too much info 😂) that temp does not guarantee you ovulated either so I won't temp as I already don't understand it as it is 😂

I'm cd 13 but I usually ovulate cd 19!
(Here are tests from last month and tests so far ! I tend to be very
Low and then peak over 3 days and go back down really low again !)

I cant decide when to DTD!! We DTD yesterday, but my ovulation tests are now defo positive and quite dark so I may hit my peak today, but it may also be tomorrow😅. Using other cycles doesn’t really help me either as 1 I peaked on the first day of my LH rise and the other it was the day after.

Would you try and cover the next 2/3 days to be on the safe side, or not bother today and do tomorrow? I don’t know how crucial it is if we miss peak day.. but I can’t foresee if it’ll be today or tomorrow! Real catch 22 for the forced sex 🥲😂. I just know if we go today and peak is then tomorrow we need to then cover tomorrow and the day after too.. which I and my OH will probably be all out of steam for as 4 days in a row feels abit too intense 😄

I think do it when you fancy! If it’s feeling like a chore I’m sure it won’t work aswell 😂
how long do you normally have high LH strips for before the peak?

I already feel like I’m out this month because I have no CM at all? Usually have it before my peak :( not sure what’s happened

Yeah it's so hard to not make it a chore!! I was thinking to try every day this week but I feel like it's too much with work and life etc! So thinking will see what happens! Haven't even had a peak yet which I normally would have - if anything the OPK tests only have one line?! They are so so faint?! Is that normal? Xx

im good thanks just feel like it’s not going to happen! We can only try alternative months because of my DH rota so I always feel like the pressure is on so that’s not good!
