I'm sorry to hear that 😢 💐

Thank you 🩷 I’m obviously upset but my lines didn’t get any stronger the next day, so I knew something was wrong. I’m just thankful it happened quickly and lines didn’t progress, so i didn’t have time to get too excited! Xxx

Afternoon ladies ✨️

@Gemmaemilyx So sorry to hear that pal 😔 Let's make this month ours! 💪

@slothbat I scrolled away back to May in my flo app and my predicted ovulation has always been CD15-16, so it tells me to start tracking at CD10, and it's the same for this month. I tracked at CD5 for baseline, CD 8 today so I'll start tracking Tuesday too!

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Hello all! I was posting on a September thread but can’t see an October one so here I am. 36, 37 next month trying for our first!

I’m so confused

We DTD a couple of times on flashing smiley day around the 26/09 which was the first time we tried and tried tracking it all. We had a wedding so didn’t wait for solid smiley day.

I have Flo and I’ve been tracking cycle all year just so I know where I am for many reasons, usually have a regular 30 day cycle

I’m now 5 days late. My boobs feel giant and last week I felt borderline narcoleptic. My peeing is also constant (completely unusual) and I have twinges not period pains.

i was going to wait until next week to do a test …but I’ve just done one because I have a work dinner and the races this week and it says negative

I’ve never been five days late for a period?!

I did it middle of the day (have drunk about 1LR water today). Was a clear blue one but a normal one not the how many weeks one.

Now I feel like a raging hypochondriac who now has a very late period?!

can you have a negative test?!

Writing this down feels better - but I guess I’ll just have to wait and see what happens this week! Whilst my boobs burst out of my bra.

Toppstileslover · 13/10/2024 17:32

I don’t have PCOS! I had a full internal scan last year when I was 35 to check my eggs etc as hubby and I still weren’t quite ready, defo no pcos

ivfjourneyandme · 13/10/2024 18:06

Been TTC for 2 years - fertility consultant booked. Just wanted to send hugs as I know how consuming those little pee sticks become! Baby dust to everyone ❤️

Sounds like a late period from experience, sorry! Hope I'm wrong though!

Hi girls! I’m totally new to the ttc game and bought my first pack of ovulation tests today but am not really sure when to use them?? I have read through a lot of the threads but get a bit confused about the abbreviations and am embarrassed to ask as I should know this stuff?! Can anyone help advise what to do for the best chances? Wishing you all the best of luck in your journeys, it’s such a supportive feed and I have loved reading through it all xx

Hi hun, you use ovulation tests pretty much every day until you see your peak. Some girls who know when they usually ovulate will start testing twice a day in that time period.

some signs that you may be entering this fertile week are egg white cervical mucus, and other signs like ovulation cramps, sometimes nausea, nipple pain etc.

positive test is when the test line is as strong as the control line, or stronger.

sometimes this doesn’t necessarily mean you ovulate, as the ovulation tests are only measuring ‘LH’ lutenising hormone. This hormone surges right before your egg is released. But sometimes it can surge and fail, so egg doesn’t actually release. The only real way to ‘confirm’ ovulation really happened is with BBT (basal body temperature) tracking. That, or if you get a period 12-14 days later.

but generally ovulation tests are reliable and if you get your ‘peak’ (the test line as strong or stronger) that means you’ll ovulate in about a day.

I hope that helps

Plumchumm · 14/10/2024 01:11

@sunsu I recommend using the Premom app because you can add tests every day and it keeps them neat so you can see the comparison and catch your ‘peak’ better.

here is mine so far

I started testing cycle day 10 because I tend to ovulate late. You can see the test line is not as strong as control line until tonight. So my surge may be happening now :) I will continue testing several times a day now to make sure

for some girls the test line gets gradually stronger, but for others like me it will be super faint until the actual surge. Girls with pcos generally have higher LH so the tests might look stronger overall, but the peak will still always be the visible most strong test.

Lila34830 · 14/10/2024 01:13

@sunsu hi lovely, never be embarrassed to ask. Some people use so many abbreviations it annoys me so much 😂

I have attached an example of my tests last month.
CD - means cycle day. Day 1 is the day of your period.
Depending on the length of your cycle I would only test from say 2/3 days post period (so CD5/7?) until after your peak. I recorded mine on the pre mom app which. I find useful.you can see that my peak was on day 19. This is when the hormone peaks to allow the egg to be released 24 to 48 hours later.
I really hope it helps.
You will find that these tests are always positive because we always have this hormone in our body but it fluctuates during the cycle. This will be more reliable than an app randomly predicting ovulation on day 14 ( my ovulation is usually day 19/20 because my cycles are 30/33 days long).

And I'm the same as you @Plumchumm ! I'm really faint until it's a blaring strong line !

@sunsu , sorry if I repeat what was said by other girls before (it's annoying we can't see posts as we write) but I would also definitely test twice a day because some girls have a very short lived peak and it means that it can peak in the morning and then be low again 12 hours later !

Morning ladies. I'm officially out of the running this month - AF arrived yesterday. But hey ho, onwards and upwards!

Plumchumm · 14/10/2024 09:18

Ladies I think I caught my surge! does this mean I’ll ovulate tomorrow?

@pastelpink0 sorry to hear that hun. I hope you have better luck this cycle 💕

sunsu · 14/10/2024 09:26

Thank you so much @Lila34830 and @Plumchumm that is so helpful!! I have been using Flo to track my periods but will definitely download premom too. We are meant to be being very laid back and not putting pressure on ourselves but I’ve become totally obsessed and just want this so much. Hopefully this will help me stay on track. Thank you again, I so appreciate you taking the time to explain it to me!

Itstime2023 · 14/10/2024 10:38

Hi just while we're chatting about testing.
I can see some of you have been testing in the morning?
I've been waiting until after 2pm and now I'm wondering if I've plucked that number out of thin air haha.
Would you recommend morning an evening?

Hey girl ! I tested morning only until I see that it's rising a bit and I get closer to my fertility week, then I do morning and evening !

Ladies I think I caught my surge! does this mean I’ll ovulate tomorrow?

Hello & Welcome ☺️

Youll typically ovulate 24-48 hrs after your first positive LH test. Once you’ve found “peak” I think it’s roughly 12-24 hours from that point. But I’ve read conflicting info.. there’s no exact time frame that can be put on it. As soon as you start to see a positive LH test it’s time to start having sex. Ideally you would have also had sex in the days leading up to this also, but if not it’s fine as your peak day is considered your most fertile. Good luck, hope you get a BFP 😊

@Gemmaemilyx sorry to hear about your CP ☹️ can’t imagine how disheartening that is. Hope your cycle isn’t too affected and you can get back to TTC quickly!

@pastelpink0 sorry AF arrived, onto the next cycle! Fingers crossed this is a lucky month!

pastelpink0 · 14/10/2024 17:27

@Plumchumm @KT199 thanks girls 💛

Lila34830 · 14/10/2024 18:37

Hey girls, 7dpo over here, nothing to really report appart from the wait for ovulation (before we dive into the 2 WW!).
We plan on DTD every other day from when my LH starts rising as I think last cycle we didn't DTD enough 🧐

OP posts:
KT199 · 14/10/2024 19:34

How often / when do people actually tend to DTD around ovulation? I worry we start too soon and then by time ovulation is actually close there’s nothing left for my OH to give 🤣
