Thanks for suggesting that I start this thread - its a real honour. Won't be leaving it yet as am only on cd24, despite getting bfps from the 3 tests I have done today (paranoid or what?!).
Lots and lots of babydust to everyone. If this pg is successful, I will have conceived in the midst of an awful cold so that should give everyone some hope. Lots and lots of hugs.....

munnzie you'll be running hand in hand through meadows, adn blowing each other kisses, adn saying ' no you put teh phone down first' ' no you do it.'.........
glad he's home ok adn you're making teh most of it!!!

munnzieb · 17/01/2005 14:30

LW - we've already done that! lol,, (well it lasted for about a week after he first left! lol, god arn't I sad! lol, (I don't care thou, cos DH is home, and we're doing lots of BD! lol, ooh I forgot to ask, at the mo i'm havin probs relaxing you know and not thinking everytime we do BD, right this is it then (even now when theres no chance,) so in short, how do I learn to relax again?

RudyDudy · 17/01/2005 15:11

Hi munnzie - glad the reunion has lived up to expectations . As for the relaxing, that's a difficult one but try and 'get into the moment' so to speak, focus on DH and think about all the things you love about him and enjoy what you're doing! Baby thoughts will no doubt pop into your head but just let them and then think about something else rather than them - it's not like there won't be something to distract you

Panto was fantastic thanks! Will be going next weekend all 3 days as my amateur dramatic group are doing theirs so think by then I will be all-panto'd out for this year!!!

marinda · 17/01/2005 20:19

Munzie- I just rely on alcohol to relax and lose my inhibitions and the fact I am TTC - get's expensive and hurts however !
No more sensible advice to offer !
Good Luck - missing you !!!!!!!!!!!!

munnzieb · 17/01/2005 23:59

lol, thanks Marinda! off for a bit of sleep yeah right! lol.. (my foof is after over time now! lol) poor little thing! he he he

Hulababy · 18/01/2005 08:54

munnzeib - gls your reunion with Dh has been so lovely

CD21 for me, so just on the long wait! Have horrid, heavy cold though and feel pretty rotton. I ache all over, my head is throbiing and my sinuses are to pot. And DD appears to have the same. So we are both at home today - called in sick from work. No way I could ontemplate teaching my classes feeling like this. Besides I would probably be asleep by lunch time! Not sure this cold is great prep for holiday down a pg though

runtus · 18/01/2005 09:10

Sorry to hear you feel awful Hula, snuggle up on the sofa woth your duvet, plenty of food and hot drinks, a nice DVD and maybe even your DD if she's up to it......heaven!

Hulababy · 18/01/2005 09:18

Thanks runtus. May well do that later. Still not seen DD's Aladdin so might see if she facnies that. Mind you so far this morning she's been very grumpy and whingy! Gather being poorly doesn't suit us.

RudyDudy · 18/01/2005 10:43

Hulababy - sorry to hear you and dd are both feeling rough today. Hopefully DD will feel a little better with the promise of a snuggle on the sofa and watching Aladdin. One of my favourite memories of being ill when I was little . Hope you're both feeling better soon.

Runtus - how are you doing? Is it this Friday you are off on your trip? I am soooo . Hope the doc has been more helpful today. Let us know how you get on?

It's awfully quiet around here at the moment. How is everyone? Hope you're all busy somewhere making babies? Is anyone due to test soon? I'm CD24 and possibly 3/4 dpo so I reckon another 10/11 days before I can start going loopy!

hester · 18/01/2005 10:48

It IS quiet, isn't it? Glad you and I are here to keep the flag flying, rudy . I'm sane at the moment, too - cd4 so entering the 'hopeful phase'. Am going to go back on the cough syrup and grapefruit juice this month and see if it helps (if nothing else, the cough syrup will at least be a sugar hit, and I'll need it now I've gone cold turkey on the chocolate front!).

Hulababy · 18/01/2005 10:55

Was thinking same - so quiet. Where is everyone?

I'm on CD21 and OVd on CD 16 according to FF - so 5DPO. So will be a few more days for me. Cycle has been anything from 25 days to 32 days so far!

RudyDudy · 18/01/2005 11:00

hey hester - nice to hear from you! What's all the cough syrup and grapefruit juice about??? Sounds disgusting to me Well done on the no-choc front - I'm v. impressed, especially during AF. I've taken to nicking DS' biscuits as they are low-cal (made with apple juice instead of sugar - how sensible is that) and delicious. Poor little mite doesn't get a look in!

hester · 18/01/2005 11:00

It's a plot - they've all run off and started another thread somewhere, leaving us behind because they hate us and don't want to be our friends anymore

Huh, see if we care.

Hula, how do you decide when to test?

hester · 18/01/2005 11:07

HI Rudy . The cough syrup and the grapefruit juice are both supposed to help thin your cm so that it is more receptive to sperm. Lord knows if it helps, but with my pathetic showing on the ewcm front I reckon it can't hurt to give it a try.

How many calories do you suppose you get from two spoonsful (spoonfuls?) of cough syrup three times a day for six days? Probably the equivalent of a daily Mars Bar!

Hulababy · 18/01/2005 11:11

I only test if I am a few days late. Mine you, after a couple of months ago (when cycle was 32 days) when I did test at about CD30ish I am not sure now when I will test if I need to that is. I guess it will be after the 32 days now.

RudyDudy · 18/01/2005 11:23

Hula you are good! I don't have that sort of patience at all - about 10dpo I will start to play negotiating games with myself in my head about when I could/should test and will try and bribe myself to wait a bit longer. I really am useless - especially seen as I bulk bought early tests from medisave which are buring a hole in my drawer.

Hmm, not sure about the cals in cough syrup Hester but presumably a sugar free one would have the same effect? I did read that fluid levels are very important for EWCM so a healthy option would be making sure you drink loads of water (will also keep you up all night which will be good practice for having a lo )

RudyDudy · 18/01/2005 11:26

(well, I was wondering if you, jedds and marinda had abandoned us for being too young )

Hulababy · 18/01/2005 11:27

Rudy - I am just too tight to buy lots of tests! Last ones I got were those digital clear blue things and they are so expensive!

Are the medised ones a lot cheaper then? Are they like the OPKs I have?

RudyDudy · 18/01/2005 11:31

They are loads cheaper than any from the chemist but are slightly faffy as you have to collect your urine and then pipette it onto the testing stick rather than peeing directly onto the stick - but I am a prolific tester so cost was more important to me than faffiness!

Hope you're feeling better Hula.

I'm off to do some revision - first exam in the morning . Can't wait for them to be over and go on holiday

Hulababy · 18/01/2005 11:35

Sound like the OPKs that bonkerz kindly sent me then.

Good luck with exam

munnzieb · 18/01/2005 12:35

star flower has the same effect hester (and prob tastes nicer! lol) sorry i've only just stumbled out of bed again, DH is teachin me the art of lazing in bed all day! lol. best go, he's moaning a bit !

marinda · 18/01/2005 15:33

Rudy - we haven't left- just post on the old duffers thread aswell. I pi""es off- CD 22 - and AF impending - have the symtoms already and know am not pg. Oh well>>.........
How did the exam go ? What are you studying ?

runtus · 18/01/2005 18:31

Hi girls, bit of an update for you.just got back from Dr's and he was really lovely! He has sent me for a full 'health check' set of blood tests this thursday, then has refered me to the Fertility clinic when I get back (so they have all my test results by then) and has said I can take another course of clomid this month and do home Ov tests while away to see if I have ov'd!!!

How great is that?! I really thought he was just going to say go on holiday and I'll see you for your next course of Clomid when you get back.

Now I really feel like I'm doing something and I have the specialist lined up for when I get back too......I am soo pleased.

RudyDudy · 18/01/2005 18:39

Runtus so pleased for you. Sounds like he was right on the ball. Now you can go away and enjoy your holiday but not feel like you are putting things back further.

marinda - was only teasing about abandoning us! Have lurked a little on your thread and think it's a great idea - there's loads of support come out of the woodwork that probably wouldn't have found its way onto here. Hope it is giving you all lots of encouragement. My first exam is tomorrow morning, then Friday and next Thursday - which feels like an age away. I'm doing a dietetics degree to train as a dietitian. It is a fab course and I love it but I hate hate hate exam time of year! Almost makes me wish I had a proper job

Hulababy · 18/01/2005 19:04

Excellent news Runtus
