Thanks for suggesting that I start this thread - its a real honour. Won't be leaving it yet as am only on cd24, despite getting bfps from the 3 tests I have done today (paranoid or what?!).
Lots and lots of babydust to everyone. If this pg is successful, I will have conceived in the midst of an awful cold so that should give everyone some hope. Lots and lots of hugs.....

Yeah!!! FF has detected OV for first time in 3 months: here So pleased about the simplist of things. I know

RudyDudy · 16/01/2005 11:58

How exciting! Lots of luck to you for this month Hulababy.

Nothing has detected I Ov'd this month (persona or OPK) but I did have EWCM (though now thinking I imagined it!) and so hopefully that means something. Now just 3 weeks to wait and see. I hate long cycles

LW - Hula is right, it is hard but we are all in it together here so come and rant away all you want.

btw Hula - how's the new car?

I'm supposed to be having an intensive revision session today so if you see me on here again please tell me to bugger off!

pickledonion · 16/01/2005 14:52

CD13 here and all is well - not using ff yet going to see how we go this month at least that can be the next step.

can some one explain what DP is please?

RudyDudy · 16/01/2005 19:01

Dear Partner - there is a list of some of the acronyms used on the site if you look at the headings on the top of the page. Though not all the ttc ones are on there so ask away if there are any you're not sure of.

Good luck for this month - hopefully you won't need FF

RudyDudy · 16/01/2005 19:02

CD 22 here and I have AF style cramping - anyone any idea what that is all about??? May have Ov'd in the last couple of days - could it be connected?

Hulababy · 16/01/2005 19:31

rudy - pick my new car up on Saturday next weekend . Dh went to test drive the new Golf GTi Turbo today too - he is hoping for one maybe April/May time - has long wait time.

CD18 here and still so pleased that FF found OV for me

I get OV cramping around the time, and just after I think I have OVd. This month it was very noticable and at times pretty sore!

RudyDudy · 16/01/2005 22:49

thanks Hula.

Where have the rest of you been this weekend??? Hope there are going to be some interesting stories tomorrow .

Hulababy · 16/01/2005 22:52

Was thinking same Rudy. It is so quiet this weekend. Where is everyone????

RudyDudy · 16/01/2005 22:54

'busy' we can only hope though ironically I think it was us two who were due to be 'busy' this weekend

though we can guess where munnzie is!!!

RudyDudy · 17/01/2005 08:15

Morning all,

Feel free to call me a weird old boot but I'm feeling happy today as I've just remembered that last night I dreamt about one of my dear friends dying...now the only problem is that I can't remember whether he actually died or not or was just dying...

For those who don't recall when pg with DS but before I knew I dreamt DH had died and when my bf was pg I dreamt about someone else dying. If you believe in all that guff (which I like to when it suits ) then it's a very common thing.

Hulababy · 17/01/2005 08:44

Hmmm Rudy! Well, whatever the reasons, good luck for this half of the month!

CD20 here. Temps are not very high but still above pre-OV level and cover line.

RudyDudy · 17/01/2005 08:52

Hula - can I ask you a couple of questions about temping? It's just that I am thinking of alternative methods of monitoring if I'm not going to be able to use persona because of too long cycles. Is it easy to do? How often do you do it? Do you need a special thermometer? (And if so where do you get them from?) Thank you! Best of luck to you too this month - fingers crossed the temps stay high.

runtus · 17/01/2005 08:52

Still waiting for af to show again, have a horrid feeling this could be a replay of last months mammoth 66 day cycle .

Been talking to some friends at the w/end who reckon I shoud be asked to be refered to a gynae (I have private health cover if that would help) - what do you reckon? Good idea, what would they look at?

Any help greatly appreciated!

RudyDudy · 17/01/2005 08:57

Hi Runtus - sorry to hear about AF . What CD are you? I'm being referred to a gynae because I have a history of endo so I'm afraid can't really help with a general appt. Perhaps you could start by just talking to your Dr and seeing what they advise. They could presumably also tell you more about what to expect from a referral. Good luck.

Hulababy · 17/01/2005 09:03

Hi Rudy

It is eay to do - hey, I can do it! You need a BBT (basal body termperature) thermometer ideally, as these record temps to 2 decimal places. I got mine from Boots. They are about £12 and come with a booklet with chart paprt in, and in a neat little black folder to store it all in.

You then take your temp every morning on waking up, before you get out of bed or do anything (and I mean anything ) It should be approx. around the same time each day but mine vary a fair bit TBH.

ou then record your temp on chart paper, or on something like www.fertilityfriend.com I use FF as it does all the working out of OV for you! Basically OV occurs when there's been a substantial temp rise.

FF always allows you to record state of CM and position of cervix (which I can never figure out so ignoore) And there is even room to record any other symptoms through the month you may have. After FF detencts OV is marks it on the chart. You can alo record when you BD and results of any PG tests and OPK results. It keeps a record of cycle length, average OV dates, etc.

But you can do all the charting manually too - which is pretty simple TBH.

runtus · 17/01/2005 09:25

Hi Rudy, only on cd30 at the moment but have completed an uncusccesful course of clomid and had a nightmare cycle last month (only came on becuase I finally got a course of progesterone which resulted in the worst pains ever). Going on holiday for 3 weeks on Friday and have been told at moment I have to wait until I come back before they will even look at doing anything else.

I have booked a drs appointment for tuesday to try and convince him to either give me a prescriotion ahead of me going away (to take on holiday) or to refer me to someone else when I come back. Just wondered what to ask for really?

hester · 17/01/2005 10:23

Morning all, just wanted to report that my body is a now a temple. I have eaten NO chocolate since Friday morning, which is something of a miracle for me. Snacking on nuts and seeds, and going for a walk every day. If I don't get pg, at least I will look like Kate Moss by the summer! (Actually, and not meaning to sound bitchy, it was the sight of Brigitte Nielson that made my mind up. Do you believe she really is 41? Her skin looks so old and it's terrifying if she really is only months older than me.)

Sparkly, I'm so so sad af came to you too. Let's get our BFPs together this month (and have a couple of lovely sweet scorpio babies just like Rudy!).

Wifeof - great news about your dh. Hope you get a reassuring result.

jeddah · 17/01/2005 12:14

Hi girls not been on mn this weekend as had my sister to stay...she has just left.

Spakly sorry about af! at least it is a start of a new month.

Moschops thanks for babydust.

Runtus.......try and keep positive...difficult I know!...we are all with you.

Hula you ov!!!!!!!!!! great news just looked at your chart...bloody fantastic!

cd9 for me and we have our gynae appoinment next tue!

Hester you are good...nuts and seeds! and no chocolate! what about the ale?

munnzieb · 17/01/2005 12:55

morning all, gonna catch up quickly - looks like u girls have been busy! still no AF for me, but a wonderful DH instead!

jeddah · 17/01/2005 12:59

munz.......have a lovely time

munnzieb · 17/01/2005 13:02

I already have thanks you young jedds! and it was worth the wait, (thou we're bearin in mind that less often is better for his spearms! lol)

runtus · 17/01/2005 13:04

Glad to hear you are 'making the most' of his being at home!

munnzieb · 17/01/2005 13:09

any how - Hester, I'm glad i'm sitting down, thou I nearly fell of my seat! lol, infact honney - come close - bit closer now, that's it so ur heads on the screen (I thought so, u have a high fever! lol, no wonder u've gone off choc! lol ) good on u hon, I hope it works thou, what about the vino? (and i'mnot really needin too much encouragement with DH thanks! lol

Rudy - How was the Panto? - and yes we've been v busy! lol.

Tania/Wifeof - Good luck hon, fingers crossed.

Marinda - don't worry about ur drunken antics! ur only young once! he he

LW (((((hugs)))))) sorr y about everything ur end hon. (((hugs))) it's sods law he'll be away but just enjoy each other at the minute thou.

OK so DH has been back now 3 days, he arrived 6.30 on fri night, and things are pretty much back to normal, infact they were as soon as I saw him! lol, thou he is helping out more in the house with the cleaning etc without me asking him - I know it's amazing isn't it! lol. And this monring he woke up v early and brough me brekie in bed! hmm. so we're in the first love stages again - u know when u can't wait for the other person to wake up again so u can talk to them (v sickly really!) lol, so he's put my internet back on again and sorted them out, and also sorted my heating out ( apparently I unbalanced it, instead of bleeding it, hence why I had no hot water at all for 2 weeks and could only have a shower) but things are looking v good this end (sorry to sound smug but i'm rather happy at the mo!) - expect it will all change soon enough thou, oh and CD 25 here, and still not AF so I gues my old girl just shows up when she damn well feels like it, (thou DH likes to think he's got super spearms and i'm PG already! lol, yeah right! as if that couldnv'e happened (ponders silently the idea of imaculate conception! lol)

munnzieb · 17/01/2005 13:11

lol, of course I am rantus! lol, we've been doing everything together, (it's actually sickening, u know constant touching and huggin etc.. nout like sendin him away for u to get the affection back again! lol ooh and he brought me 4 loads of washing which I've had to do.... bloody cheek... but it's a small price to pay

runtus · 17/01/2005 13:43

All sounds hunky dory in the house of Munzie.....good for you!
