I'm having a weekend off I've decided - can get back on it tomorrow, but figure that I can enjoy the one weekend a month when have definitely not succeeded on the TTC mission, and so can have lots of wine, cakes, chips, and all the other things that will be offlimits for the rest of the time! Plus have done lots of heavy lifting so need calories (Mr. Hol decided to dismantle our spare wardrobe yesterday, so had to take that to the tip - I am STRONG!)

So, yesterday wasn't too bad: cereal, small amount of chips for lunch (was sad), cold meat & bread for tea, and half a bottle of wine ().

Today am going to eat cake though

Lennied · 06/04/2008 14:24

I think I could do with a bit of a kick up the backside on the weight loss front so am going to join you.

Know exactly what you mean about the 2WW; and when AF arrives fym I do exactly the same. Rest of the month I lose weight, only to put it back on again. Successfully lost 2st since having DD but hit a bit of a plateau. Will start doing food tomorrow...

Ready · 06/04/2008 15:34

Can I be really nosy and ask about the conception stats too? I am on the hunt for my first baby? been on that well travelled road for a while, our 20th cycle now.

Yesterday I went out for the day with dh, bit of shopping ? and had chips for lunch. Then pizza for tea and then went out with friends to the pub? where I had wine and cherry brandy with lemonade (my new favourite tipple) all evening, so I for one am grateful we are not weighing in on Monday morning!!

fym, the juices are a good way of boosting your 5-a-day ? my problem with this ttc lark, is that I am frightened of doing my usual boxercise in the 2ww.

welcome Lennied

oh I'm doing terrible, not even trying at the moment with it being moving week! We're not even cooking at home....last night was leaving drinks with friends. Had a burger/chips plus quite a few fruit beers which I'm sure were chock full of sugar, but oh so tasty.

Today had a cafe fry up, 1 egg, hashbrowns, 1 sausage, bacon, toast, & beans. Then for early dinner we had Chinese and I feel so awful now I want to barf.

Well this is all very embarassing, I think I might have to try to eat a little bit more healthily tomorrow! I tend to be very all or nothing, either I'm watching what I eat strictly, or I'm not bothering at all.

Wheelybug · 06/04/2008 18:14

Thanks fym - am on the mend. Apppetite coming back but not really up torunning yet so will have to make sure I don't start to undo the good work so far !

Yesterday foodwise wasn't so good - we took dd to the theatre to see Angelina Ballerina so had

breakfast - pain au chocolat
lunch - pizza (but with no cheese and I didn't eat it all)
Dinner - 1 hot dog (with a proper sausage - ooer) and chips (oven). 2 glasses of red wine.

today I didn't have any breakfast and went to friends for a roast (chicken, veg and 3 roast potatoes) then ice cream for pudding (I turned down teh apple tart but couldn't quite resist the ice cream). Not sure what else I will have today.....

As for ttc stats - I'm ttc number 2 (DD is 3) , had a m/c July 06 and on 20th cycle since we started again after m/c (Ready - I think I remember us being on the same number of cycles about a year ago on another ttc !) having conceived in first & second cycle with 2 previous conceptions. Have first appointment at ACU on 17th which has been part of making me lose weight !

sarah76 · 06/04/2008 18:27

Oh forgot my conception stats....

I quit taking the pill in August 2005 and I've been temping on FF ever since. My XH and I were supposedly TTC, but since he was loathe to have sex more than once every 2 months, the "Trying" was really only on my part. Plus with my PCOS I didn't ovulate every cycle and had 2, 3, and 4 months cycles. Really not a snowball's chance in hell!

Been with new partner since May 2007 and we stopped using contraception in about July (not really trying, just not trying to stop it). Still I'm counting cycles from when we stopped contraception, so I'm on my 9th cycle with my new parter, but 22nd cycle overall. I cannot believe that in four months it will be 3 bloody years since I started all this!

sarah76 · 06/04/2008 18:28

but, I forgot to add, we are really 'trying' now!

minster · 06/04/2008 20:17

I'm desperately need to reduce the size of my arse!

11st 10lb - 11st 1lb - 9st 5lb

I take steroids when I'm pregnant, so going in overweight isn't good (assuming I ever manage to conceive ).

I'm currently in the middles of my 10th cycle ttc our 3rd living child. No real idea what's wrong with us.

#1 - was a quiak natural conception (8 years ago!)
#2 - IVF after >3 years of trying (lost in the second trimester to PROM & placental abruptiom)
#3 - first cycle with FSH injections.

My TTC stats - just cycle 2 of TTC#1, so still early days. We meant to start last year, but took longer than expected to change jobs.

Lottie, know what you mean! I'm also getting wound up by pregnant people posting boasting Facebook statuses - was one of the major reason for chips yesterday! Hate to think what I'll be like after another few cycles...

My TTC stats - TTC # 2, 3rd cycle, 1st cycle of tracking OV and on CD30 of 31-33 day cycle so expecting AF anyday now . Have PFB DD 15mo and apple of her daddy's eye (and mine too).

Minster - I had to take steroids when pg with DD, gained 3 stone throughout the pregnancy, wasn't very pleased. Have lost 2 stone now, but still got 2 stone I'd like to lose.

I'm considering packing our scale early so I don't weigh myself until after the move...it's so depressing!

Hoping I haven't quite hit 13st - this way I should be able to claim a small loss on Friday. I should be able to get back to 12st 7 fairly easily as I've piles on the extra half a stone through Christmas-style feasting over the last 2 weeks. Need to get under 12st for a BMI of 25, but despite a few previous attempts I seem stuck at 12lb 7. I love food far too much . Especially carbs.

Lottie, I meant to say on the other thread... I completely agree with you about people who dismiss a certain diet, yet load up their trolleys with totally wrong things. I don't have a problem with lowering carb intake... but I personally stand by what I say that cutting them out completely is not a good idea. Our bodies need a balanced diet, and cutting out carbs might help with weight loss in the short term, but carbs are an essential part of a healthy balanced diet.
Of course you are right though, that some carbohydrates are not good - but to cut out all, I think is extreme and unlikely to be something that can (or should) be done long term. I guess that living with someone who is very nutrient conscious and needs carbohydrates, I will always see it a certain way.

Food today:

Breakfast: Apple
Lunch: Jacket potato with small amount of cheese and salad (I know I shouldn't have but only other option was ham soup and I'm vegetarian such good excuses...)
Snack: 2 crackerbreads (plain)
Tea: Veg stir fry

Wheelybug · 07/04/2008 18:52

OOH I'm a big fan of Rooibos too - I drink the dragonfly breakfast. Actually prefer it to normal tea (although do like coffee too and that has to be caffienated !).

Food for me today -

Breakfast 2 x wholemeal toast with marmite
lunch - little pot of reduced fat humous, seeded pitta bread, carrots, cucumber and olives
snack - apple
tea will be pasta with chicken and a spicy tomato sauce.

Starving now though and DH and I don't usually have our dinner until at least 9.. often as late as 10 so I might have to snack on something else.
