Hi ladies, I started a thread a couple of cycles ago and found it so helpful chatting to people at exactly the same point so we could go through the TWW together and eventually test together. I think this is cycle 5 of TTC our first (losing track), anyway… I am ovulating around Tuesday and currently have flashing smiley on clear blue OPK, so we’re in the thick of dtd ever day!!! Looking forward to having a little group of cycle buddies for this month… I found last month so awful and had a really low week when AF showed, here’s hoping this month is our month x

@sirensong I'll probably just POAS tomorrow at 2DPO to get it out my system 😂😂 my husband looked incredibly skeptical when i said I'd hold out to AF...So I might hold off just to show him (or hide the tests..)

Familyfirst12 · 29/04/2024 14:14

@sirensong @ThelastRolo20 The willpower of a pea got me as well😂

I tested at 10dpo last month (telling myself that I knew I wasn't pregnant so a negative test wouldn't make me upset) Well.... upset I did get😂
So I'm going to wait until AF is due this month, around 15th May. I think I will find that easier X

I’m also due on around 15th May and plan to hold out til then. So we can all be very impatient little peas together 😂

like you said, I think it’s psychologically easier when AF comes and you know you’re on CD1 again.

Familyfirst12 · 29/04/2024 14:28

@Sarah268 Ahhh well we can hold out together then!! My natural cycles says today is very high fertility and tomorrow (day before ovulation) is peak. I'm seriously contemplating not dtd tonight to try and let DH sperm build back up a bit again (Is this even a thing?!) as have dtd for last 2 night on the bounce... what do you think? Is every day better or every other?!

Sarah268 · 29/04/2024 14:47

@Familyfirst12 it’s a tough one. We are in the same boat re; timings of DTD.

if you are going to ovulate on weds then you’ll be fine missing tonight and going again tomorrow (and weds). I might do that too because my DH will be super tired when he gets home tonight. On occasion he also can’t finish (sorry if TMI) when we’re doing it everyday as I think the fatigue and pressure gets to him a bit! So I’d rather he saves himself for the key days! Aware how awful this sounds 😂… love him to death I promise!

Familyfirst12 · 29/04/2024 14:56

Not TMI at all... I mean the whole of TTC becomes TMI really doesn't it😂My husband doesn't struggle with finishing but does say 'let's get this done then' some nights when we go to bed😂Not ideal but we do what we have to do lol. I just don't know if I will regret missing tonight..

@Sarah268 @Familyfirst12 I totally get it - I schedule my husband in and try and talk him through the strategy 😂 he just goes along with what i say at this point

😂😂I got so obsessed with days and times last month he asked me to put sex in the joint diary and I quote 'so I know what I'm in for and when'

Marie1990x · 29/04/2024 15:09

😂😂 nothing is TMI on a conception thread!

I’m the same with DH. Last week I said “can you make it quick” and it ended up putting him off so didn’t dtd, luckily it was way before my peak so hasn’t mattered too much. 2 more nights of dtd then he can have a break 😂.

Has anyone been eating a shed load of pineapple? I’d read it can help so been eating so much of it. DH has questioned my sudden interest in it, but I haven’t told him why as he would just think I’ve completely lost the plot

@Familyfirst12 I'm confused as a courgette whether alternating days or every day is better.

Loads of experts say alternate is better to rebuild sperm count, others say although sperm count is lower with daily the quality is better in terms of motility and fragmentation. In reality probably either is fine, though I've warned my partner I may expect action 6 days on the trot. I mentioned on a different thread that last cycle he flat out denied pregnancy can only happen in a narrow window ("humans are not pandas. If this was true there wouldn't be any people). This time he knows that a smiley face means it's cue for Everyone Take Their Positions but overall he's still clueless.

I'm loving all the vegetable references 😂 I've never done everyday, always every other during fertile week and 1/3 pregnancies has worked out so maybe there's something in it 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sarah268 · 29/04/2024 16:20

Haha loving these stories. I know I think it was because a few months ago I got my dates a bit mixed up and after 7 days of DTD in a row he was a broken man 😂

We tend to do everyday of fertile window if possible but I definitely don't think it's needed.

ThelastRolo20 · 29/04/2024 17:47

@Sarah268 😂 it can feel a bit much sometimes can't it! So difficult when you're trying to get good coverage across the fertile week! Hopefully it works out for a lot of us this month 🤞🏻🤞🏻

YorkshirePeridot · 29/04/2024 18:42

@ThelastRolo20 thanks for the welcome, I don't think I ovulate in Jan just because it was a couple of weeks after my implant came out and I didn't have any symptoms. Then in March I had a UTI in my fertile window which I think delayed ovulation as my period didn't arrive but I did get another peak shortly after the "missed" period. Hopefully my cycles are settling down now 🤞

I don't think I could dtd every day if I wanted to! I do think I'm putting a lot of pressure on myself to hit the "right" days so when it doesn't work out (we tried and failed yesterday morning) I feel really down. I thought the fertile window was meant to be the fun bit of ttc!

ThelastRolo20 · 30/04/2024 11:46

@YorkshirePeridot I think we're all guilty of putting a lot of pressure on fertile week ❤️ it does only take one sperm though!

Just had another pregnancy announcement at work, right around my second miscarriage due date sigh. I have to be especially happy for people as I work in HR! Hopefully my time will be soon

Sarah268 · 30/04/2024 12:06

@ThelastRolo20 sorry to hear that. I had a similar one with a close friend announcing theirs on my MC due date. It literally destroyed me, so well done for holding it together! I’d been quite pragmatic but sometimes you just get triggered! ❤️

Got a dilemma this weekend… I have a girls day planned and I know there will be drinks flowing. I REALLY want to enjoy it but I also don’t want to reduce any chance of this working. I will be 4DPO. What would you girls do?!
I also don’t want to tell them I’m trying either. Most have babies so they would understand but I don’t need the pressure of people knowing we are trying.

ThelastRolo20 · 30/04/2024 12:08

@Sarah268 honestly? 4DPO? Go for it, if it doesn't work out this month I can promise it won't be because of that. Egg isn't even implanted and when they do they have their own sack to give them nutrients. Enjoy yourself 😊 x

Marie1990x · 30/04/2024 13:11

@Sarah268 I’m out on Friday and will be 4dpo too and still planning on drinking and enjoying it 😊. I doubt having a few drinks at this stage would make much of a difference?
The day before I found out I was pregnant with DD I’d had a lot of wine and she’s absolutely fine (as fine as a tantruming toddler can be)

Sarah268 · 30/04/2024 13:41

Ok thanks that makes me feel better. Paranoid because of my loss.

I'm fine with drinking some alcohol it's more that this is more of an all-day thing where the wine will be flowing and things will probably spiral. Also read on here (& google) to avoid alcohol in the TWW but biologically at 4DPO as you say - can it really harm? Anyway my plan will be not to get too drunk haha.

How is everyone's fertile window going? I had a peak this morning so today, tomorrow and Thursday is the plan. Don't think we will manage any more than that 😂

@Familyfirst12 did you DTD last night in the end? Why am I so invested in other people's sex lives haha 😂

Marie1990x · 30/04/2024 13:57

@Sarah268 completely understandable considering your loss. Maybe just try to pace yourself and keep hydrated while the wine flows too, that’s what I’ll try do too.

I’m only 1dpo and already impatient 😂. Ovulation was yesterday but DH got stage fright from the pressure so we didn’t manage to dtd annoyingly. We covered the weekend so hoping it’s given us at least a chance.

Your plan definitely sounds like it should be enough 🤞🏻🤞🏻

ThelastRolo20 · 30/04/2024 14:24

@Marie1990x ah I'm around 3DPO and wanted to do Monday for full coverage but we also couldn't manage it 😂 will just have to hope last week's efforts will do!

Sarah268 · 30/04/2024 16:45

@ThelastRolo20 @Marie1990x sure you’ll both have covered enough… at least you can have a bit of a rest now 😂

have you got any distraction tactics ready for the TWW?

ThelastRolo20 · 30/04/2024 16:53

@Sarah268 I'm trying to get my 5km time under 25 mins so doing two runs a week (help breaks up the week and makes them seem shorter!)

Other than that, wine and binge watching crap TV?? 😂

Going to really try and hold out until next Friday which will be 13DPO to test.

ThelastRolo20 · 30/04/2024 16:53

@Sarah268 are you counting tomorrow as 1DPO or the day after?
