Hi ladies, I started a thread a couple of cycles ago and found it so helpful chatting to people at exactly the same point so we could go through the TWW together and eventually test together. I think this is cycle 5 of TTC our first (losing track), anyway… I am ovulating around Tuesday and currently have flashing smiley on clear blue OPK, so we’re in the thick of dtd ever day!!! Looking forward to having a little group of cycle buddies for this month… I found last month so awful and had a really low week when AF showed, here’s hoping this month is our month x

@Familyfirst12 hey! I'll join, I have a 2 year old but I'm just coming off of a 3 month break after having two missed miscarriages within 3 months of each other 🤦‍♀️

I'm not tracking this month but ovulation day is predicted as today so I'm just going to take that! Entering my first TWW since December tomorrow 😬

When would AF be due for you? X

Sarah268 · 28/04/2024 16:49

I’ll join you! Think we are ovulation day buddies, should be Tuesday or Weds (I hope) for me. Hoping I get a peak tomorrow.

Trying again after an early miscarriage at 7 wks in March. First baby.

As you say, back in the slightly awkwardly forced daily DTD! Always try to keep it fun and relaxed but deep down you both know 😂

ThelastRolo20 · 28/04/2024 16:56

@Sarah268 I've given up trying to make it anything other than practical sex 😂 our neurotic dog waits outside the door for us - so off putting.

Sorry about your MC x

Sarah268 · 28/04/2024 17:40

@ThelastRolo20 omg our dog gets FOMO too 😂 we just know he’s there waiting right outside.

Yeah the MC was awful, obviously if I do conceive again then it’s going to be a very anxious time. This whole process is such a stress.

Also feels like there’s babies everywhere in my family/friendship groups - I literally can’t escape it!

ThelastRolo20 · 28/04/2024 17:50

@Sarah268 totally understand, since my mcs everyone in my friendship group is pregnant with their seconds... Can't escape it x

Ladyinpink1 · 28/04/2024 18:15

I'll join too 🙂, I should ovulate on Tuesday also and this is cycle 9 ttc for me since a loss in Aug. Ready for this to be "the cycle" and the same as you @Familyfirst12 we are dtd every day atm. I heard before that it would be bad to dtd too much as it lowers sperm count but I have been researching and actually dtd lots is better as it keeps sperm fresh and gives you a better shot at conception so here's hoping! x

I promise I'm not stalking you @ThelastRolo20 🤣😂I just can't get ttc out if my mind at this point in my cycle so end up on here alot at this time x

ThelastRolo20 · 28/04/2024 18:28

@Ladyinpink1 😂 I'm clearly the same so don't worry! It's always good to hear others experiences x

Musicianmum22 · 28/04/2024 18:49

According to dates I should be within my window now but it’s my first cycle using OPK and my levels are very low… Trying SPEM this cycle (ttc #2 cycle 4) and it’s already feeling exhausting for both of us!

I don’t know what’s going on with my cycles since having my first (16 months) when ttc her I had a CP first cycle then conceived her second so I rather naively assumed it would be as easy second time around, especially as it seems like lots of friends got pregnant with their second earlier than they anticipated…

so so sorry about MMC, I can’t imagine how difficult that must have been.

OPKs are really confusing me and I wonder whether i should be testing twice a day. I keep having little surges (nothing high enough to be considered a positive) and then back down to a low level

Marie1990x · 28/04/2024 20:50

Hi ladies, can I join ☺️.
TTC number 2
Got my peak OPK today. I think I must have a short surge as it was low yesterday then all of a sudden a strong peak today, so guessing I’m ovulating today or tomorrow 🤞🏻.

@Musicianmum22 this happens to be. Goes stronger but never peak, then all of a sudden barely visible and then strong peak. It’s on 2.22 (Premom app) today so I guess I can’t deny that one!

Sarah268 · 28/04/2024 20:59

@Musicianmum22 opks are confusing. I’m finding it takes a few months to work out the patterns. Defo might be an idea to test a few times a day during your expected peak days. I test around midday then again later but only on peak days. If you have a short peak you can also miss it quite easily (I think this has happened to me before).

Familyfirst12 · 28/04/2024 22:04

I’m due AF approx 15th May, i have quite long cycles at about 36 days. Sorry to hear about your miscarriages ladies, it’s such a difficult time isn’t it. I’ve never had a sniff of a BFP and we’re currently waiting for some test results back although they have already confirmed PCOS. We’re using conceive plus lubricant this month (mainly just because we’ll give anything a shot at this point) but other than that doing exactly the same as every other month. Hoping to get a static smiley on clear blue in the morning. This whole journey has been so much harder than I expected and even DH who is relaxed about almost everything is finding it difficult now. Just praying that this is it for us. Are any of you doing anything different this month? How often do you all dtd? X

YorkshirePeridot · 28/04/2024 22:24

Hi all 👋 My apps aren't agreeing when I'm ovulating, Flo reckons today and Premom reckons tomorrow but it's around now! I've been ttc #1 since January but I don't think I've ovulated every month. Haven't managed to dtd as much as I wanted this fertile window, so already feeling a bit rubbish and haven't even got into the tww yet ☹️

Sarah268 · 29/04/2024 06:46

@YorkshirePeridot hello 👋 i just tend to try to work it out through LH peak, EWCM and BBT rise (after ovulation). The app predictions for me have always been off, especially since the miscarriage my cycle length has definitely been messed up a bit.

as long as you’ve done it once or twice in the fertile window that should be enough 🙏

My DH will be working long hours over the next few days which isn’t ideal as I’m expecting to peak today.

Marie1990x · 29/04/2024 07:43

@Familyfirst12 my cycles now seem to be around 36 days as well. They’ve never been the “typical” 28 days, but usually around 32 days. I have PCO but not PCOS, but tbh I feel like with not catching on and my cycles getting longer it’s looking more like it’s PCOS.
We started off doing the SMEP in the hope my cycle would be shorter, but when I wasn’t seeing a positive OPK I kind of gave up.
we dtd Friday night/Saturday morning, got my peak yesterday and dtd last night and will tonight. Hoping it’s giving me a bit of a chance.

I’ve never tried the conceive plus lubricant but heard good things 🤞🏻.

Ladyinpink1 · 29/04/2024 08:06

@Musicianmum22 smep can be so tiring especially if you are trying to squeeze it into a busy schedule.
Maybe as you said twice a day, if you could do a hold for a few hours you could test again in the afternoon or evening?
Another thing is you could try fmu, I know you are meant to use second, but I have always tested with fmu and that's when I get my peak (I assume my hormones peak while I am asleep) x

@Familyfirst12 sorry things have been stressful, it really is consuming ttc and hard when things don't go the way you expect. I have been eating healthier just for this cycle.
We have dtd each day the past few days just because it was the weekend so everything is more relaxed, but it is harder to do that through the week when both working. Dtd twice yesterday 😂 and got my peak opk this morning (cd12) so will try hopefully for tonight and tomorrow.
What about you? And what tests did you get? x

ThelastRolo20 · 29/04/2024 08:25

@Familyfirst12 when conceiving my first nothing happened until I used conceive plus 🙂 this time I'm using preseed - same concept really.

@YorkshirePeridot welcome! Why do you think you might not be ovulating? X

sirensong · 29/04/2024 11:12

Hi ladies. 3rd cycle TTC number one.

Third day of flashing smileys but not expecting to ovulate till around Wednesday or Thursday. Easy@home strips still weirdly show VERY low LH. First time using them so don't know my pattern - whether I get very sudden spikes etc.

I always estimate the day after a static smile to mean ovulation but do any of you who track temperature or know from scans, have a different timeline? I realise in theory ovulation could be the same day as the surge or a couple of days later.

ThelastRolo20 · 29/04/2024 11:50

@sirensong for what it's worth on the OPK sticks I get a rapid surge and decline in one day, very low until then 🙂

Familyfirst12 · 29/04/2024 11:54

@ThelastRolo20 well maybe the lube is the secret!😂I still had a flashing smiley on clear blue this morning so think I will get static tomorrow. Pre mom strips are also steadily rising and they normally peak on CD 22 which is tomorrow. So think I will ovulate on Wednesday which is CD 23 (this has been the case for the last 2 cycles so things are actually quite nice and regular atm) I also confirm with BBT.
We are going away tomorrow and I know it will be quite a boozy holiday so I've kind of already accepted that this won't be our month. I have been looking forward to this trip for a long time and have weighed up not drinking etc but I don't want there to be questions from our friends over it and tbh I want to really enjoy it. As it will be whilst in the first week of TWW though I doubt very much that we will be successful this cycle!

OP posts:
Familyfirst12 · 29/04/2024 11:56

@sirensong I use clear blue ovulation/easy @ home strips with the premom app and also confirm with bbt - my BBT generally confirms ovulation happens the day after I get the static smiley which coincides with the day after I peak on strips, hope that helps!

OP posts:
ThelastRolo20 · 29/04/2024 12:04

@Familyfirst12 definitely enjoy the holiday, even if you are pregnant the egg is just merrily making it's way down the fallopian tube so drinks won't affect it anyway! It'll be a good way to distract yourself from the TWW 🙂 are you going anywhere nice? X

Familyfirst12 · 29/04/2024 12:09

@ThelastRolo20 I've read a lot about how drinking can negatively impact implantation so OBVIOUSLY I've driven myself mad with that but decided what will be will be and if we're here again next month, I'll remove the rose from my diet😂
We're off to Cyprus so looking forward to some sun.
When will you be testing or are you going to wait for AF? X

Ah that sounds lovely! Haha Rosé is a staple of my diet 😂 I'm going to try my absolute best to hold off until AF. The reason being is I find a negative test much easier to swallow if I'm already onto the next cycle. If it's a negative early then I'm just impatiently waiting...but I have the willpower of a pea so we'll see

CapricornDiaries5194 · 29/04/2024 13:32

Hey ladies,
I would like to join you all too. Cycle #2 baby 3. First cycle with OPK and BBT testing. I am currently in my fertile window and predicted ovulation is on friday.

I would love to have some TWW buddy's with same DPOs

Lh levels are low 20-34 and BBT is around 97.30-98.00. first time using OPK so don't know what to expect.

sirensong · 29/04/2024 13:37

@ThelastRolo20 "willpower of a pea" has made me laugh. Those well known impatient impetuous peas.
