JustJaamy · 13/06/2008 22:34

Caspercat you little minx...how dare you even consider not coming back to tell us your good news. Congratulations! We needed a BFP to give us a boost

Hi Mrsfossil and welcome. Lots of tea and sympathy here as well as a few BFPs so this is a great place to wait. Add yourself to the list and we'll try to keep you busy during IUI.

Hi JJB and Blackrock hope you are doing ok.

LOL Mollie and Lou. I was thinking 'Playa' for a boy and 'Blanca' for a girl. 'Lanz' and 'Arote' for twins.

Enjoy your wine, lou. Glad you've had a bit of pampering today and feeling a bit better.

glastochick · 16/06/2008 11:19

Hello all

We're not doing too badly. Had our ups and downs over the weekend, with a few wobblies from both of us. It still hasn't really sunk in. I am being impatient wanting to know how long the referral to the infertility clinic will take. I am also hoping like mad that DH's 2nd sperm sample will show at least one swimming around. All it takes is one. He will probably do that next week.

AF arrived late on Saturday, which didn't really help.

In some respects, I'm kind of glad my cycles have become irregular as it's what prompted me to see the GP and ask for investigations. If I hadn't, we'd still be plodding along none the wiser to DH's problem.

It all really sucks but I'm just keen to get on with having DH investigated by the specialists and discussing our options.

JustJaamy, would be honoured to make the grad list, just no idea how to do it myself!
Got the BFP last Weds (Jun 11th).
Hi to all of you, i really hope someone knocks me off the bottom of the grad list soon.....

QueenyEisGotTheBall · 16/06/2008 16:30

hi ladies
just thought i would update myself properly on the list as i felt ready to put myself back at the top end of the list i have my docs appointment tomorrow so fingers crossed but it seems i may have already figured it out i googled the causes of CPs and it said that abnormal thyroid function can cause implantation defects and i got my results from my thyroid test the other day and it was really low so maybe my GP will make me wait for a month or 2 until that problem is corrected! ah well PMA ladies we WILL be next!!
caspercat HUGE CONGRATS FOR YOU ON YOUR BFP!!!!! never feel that your excellent news isnt welcome as you are lovely and deserve a BFP just as much as we do!!
jaamy sounds like a plan lady!! should we go and get plastered in the city centre?? it would be nice to meet for a coffee sometime when you are not too bogged down being a high flying buisness woman!!

Glasto When do you get the results from the 2nd test? So sorry TEW got you too, what a horrible combination, bad news and AF
I don't blame you for being impatient, I would be exactly the same, hopefully it won't take too long for your referral
and like you said "it only takes one"!!!!
EI At least you might have an explanation that your GP can confirm, it's lovely to see you back and I really hope you dont' have to delay ttc because of it x

Hello all,

disappeared to be very poorly for couple of days! Had that horrible tummy bug that has been going around. managed to keep a piece of bread down last night, and slept for 9 hours so feeling a bit perkier this morning.
But... when did my CB monitor decide to show OV? YESTERDAY when I felt soooo CRAP!
Typical, but we will try around it and you never know!?
Still showing OV today so will try tonight.

Hope everyone is ok. Nice to have you back properly Ei!
xxxx

blackrock · 17/06/2008 20:24

Had app. with gyn today. Good news is my cycle is returning to a normal pattern, so more likely to OV.
Next app in six months... referral to FERT unit if not got a BFP by then!

So far all my referrals have been pretty quick, so hope the same goes for everyone else waiting on this route.

Lou - I hope you are feeling much better and i hope i have updated properly.

ChuffyKrumhorn · 18/06/2008 06:36

Hello Dear Ladies!

I am just checking in (-I have not had a lot of time to be online/read the chatter in this wonderful waiting room, as my baby sis is visiting from out of province).
I shall put some time aside tomorrow to get acquainted/re-acquainted with you and learn how each of you have been doing.
Congratulations to those of you who have had BFPs withing the last couple of weeks!
For those of you who are still waiting and hoping, I'm still with you, sisters!

Here is my update:
I just got my cycle day 3 blood test results back and aside from being slightly iron deficient, I am "fine".

While it is always wonderful news to get a clean bill of health, I came away a bit frustrated...
I had almost hoped the Doc would have found something amiss (ie:in the way of a hormone imbalance etc) which could explain my apparent inability to conceive.
In other words,
I thought,
if we could FIND A PROBLEM, we would KNOW WHAT TO FIX..!

On the bright side, Doc will FINALLY be granting me a referral for a consult with a GYN from the IWK women's & Children's hospital here in Halifax (fert clinic).

He did warn me that, during our initial Q&A, the specialist will probably look at me sideways when I tell her my bloodwork is currently all good AND that I have two healthy children already* whose conceptions required no fert intervention.

Really?!

To me,the fact that I had two easy FAST conceptions followed by OVER TWO YEARS of unsuccessfully TTC ought to indicate to her a deeper investigation is required!

Especially since, according to every LH strip I have used, I have not ovulated in at least a year.(the one time I DID get a second line showing, it was faint: far lighter than the 'comparison line')

In fact, for the past few months I have been testing for an LH surge EVERY SINGLE day from the last day of my period until the day before my next to check if I am just a veryvery early or verryvery late ovulator.
No activity at all.

Just bought another pkg of highly sensitive fertility tests...perhaps I will wait until I get my appointment before I waste this batch.

Blah.
--Anyone have any insight?

What could the problem be??

OH, the Doc said to me as I walked out the door "...hey!-YOu never know! You might conceive before you even see this specialist!"

I snickered at him.
It has been over two years now. What are the odds of that happening?
OR
maybe he is just insinuating I will be in for a looong wait for an appointment with this specialist!!

mrsfossil · 18/06/2008 12:51

Hello ladies

ChuffyKrumhorn- know how you feel. Once you've had at least 1 child you just want the docs to find why you body won't do as its told next time round.

My specialist kept coming out with little comments like "you never know, it might happen before your next appointment" He did make me feel a bit stupid, I half expected him to ask me If I was doing it right!

beaniesteve · 18/06/2008 15:20

Hi there all. Just been given the news that a woman I work with has just found out she is pregnant. She has PCOS and so it was a complete shock as she's not even been trying, rather she just wasn't being careful as she has a young daughter already and assumed she wouldn't be able to have more. Am pleased for her, but it just stresses me out. Like ChuffyKrumhorn I sort of think I would like to be diagnosed with something if only so I could fix it!

So - I am still lurking but I am trying not to TTC this month. I did pee on my Fertility monitor sticks though, because I couldn't stop myself.

Hope all are ok?

emma2617 · 18/06/2008 17:12

Chuffy...Wow...thats is a detailed update, just what I like to see! I agree with mrsfossil, surely easy conception of DC1 then struggle with DC2 would make you think there is something to investigate?! Damn medical profession!

Good to hear you are still POAS Beanie!!!

MollieMooma · 19/06/2008 12:51

Lou How you feeling today? Did you get to BD after?
Blackrock Fantastic news about your cycle, will keep everything crossed for you
Chuffy I wondered where you were! I appreciate the frustration your experiencing with the GP, I'm a lots little scared to start all the tests in case they tell me something can't be fixed. Classic case of head in the sand! As we're no closer 6 mths on from m/c and over 2 yrs of trying I really must bite the bullet and go but I keep putting it off!
No idea on the OV side of things, have you tried temping instead or as well as?
Beanie You lurker you! glad to see your still hanging out with us and POAS! It's very addictive isn't it? about woman at work, life is so unfair sometimes
Mollie at Emma & Glasto and everyone else

MollieMooma · 19/06/2008 12:53
